@Pumuckl: Sorry about your bed rest!
@oliviaoblivia: My friend just had a 10lb 13oz baby so you're fine in my book!

  2. oliviaoblivia

@namaste: my first was over ten... Second babies are usually bigger so I've been dreading an eleven pounder.

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@oliviaoblivia: I give all my kudos to you ladies! DH was over 9 lbs and his mom weighs like 90 pounds wet.

I don't think I'll know anything about my baby until she gets here honestly. My doctor's office is so uncommunicative. I don't have another appointment until the 24th.

@oliviaoblivia: ohhh okay. phew! narrowed down any name ideas?

  5. Radish

@oliviaoblivia: Yay for closer to 9 lbs! What does that mean for your birth plan?

@namaste: I think most doctors tend to not do much unless there is a known concern. Appointments seem pointless sometimes.

  6. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@Radish: haha they do seem pointless. I mean my *main* OB is great to visit because she's pregnant right now too but I feel so uninteresting to the other OBs in the office.

  7. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Radish: vag birth is on the table! I have to go back in two weeks for another scan. I guess us growth scans are more accurate over time for birth weight prediction and since the margin of error could still have me with a ten pounder they want to be careful.

  8. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@sorrycharlie: none. DH just gave me a list yesterday and I felt like laughing. There wasn't a single one I didn't hate. Do you guys have a name yet?

  9. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@oliviaoblivia: Charlotte! We aren't telling anyone til she's born, though

  10. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@sorrycharlie: I love Charlotte! It would be my pick if it weren't DD's nanny's name.

@oliviaoblivia: Wow that's a big prediction! I think you will do okay.

@mfa_lady: How did the Zantac work today?

  13. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MapleMoose: Ehh, it was okay. I bought some Coobie bras this morning, because I honestly think that my bra putting pressure on my ribs/middle is making it a lot worse. I'm going to see how the stretchy bras + Zantac combo works out, and if it's still not working, my MW will write me a prescription for something a little stronger. How are you?

  14. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@mfa_lady: I love coobie bras (wearing one right now) I hope it helps.

  15. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Raindrop: Thank you! I hope so too. I was practically drooling when ordering them this morning at work...as I sat at my desk with my rib cage getting squeezed to death by my bra band.

  16. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@namaste: Same here. No more scans unless something is wrong or I'm induced. Every appointment is weight, blood pressure, urine sample, and fundal height. Important stuff to monitor health, I know, but I want to see my baby! I'm impatient.

@mfa_lady: Bummer! I hope the new bra helps. I'm doing well, aside from BH and hip pain but that's expected.

  17. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MapleMoose: Thanks lady! How are the BH treating you? I think I've only had them a time or two--I wasn't even sure that's what they were, but my doula told me it was once I described them to her.

Anyone have heartburn tips? Tums are getting SO OLD.

  19. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@MapleMoose: haha glad I'm not alone! I had BH on Saturday night that were crazy but only one other time. Hope your hip feels better!

  20. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@mfa_lady: @namaste: I had BH all the time starting in the second trimester with LO1 and man can they hurt sometimes! I haven't been having as many this time and they aren't as painful but occasionally they will stop me in my tracks. Can't seem to figure out what sets them off either because I drink plenty of water throughout the day and changing my activity (like sitting if I've been moving alot) doesn't appear to make them stop. Maybe BH can just happen for no reason, I'm not sure. Have you girls figured out your triggers?

  21. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MapleMoose: On the rare occasion they've happened to me, I've been on my feet all day and they've come on when I've made a quick movement or something. Who knows!!

  22. Snowdrop

    pear / 1846 posts

@MapleMoose: my for sure trigger for BH is a full bladder.

  23. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

    @Snowdrop: Interesting!

  24. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@MapleMoose: I'm not sure but probably moving too much or being too active. I've gotten them before while walking a couple of miles.

  25. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

For me BH are common when I over do it. Also sitting for prolonged times doesn't help.

  26. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@Pumuckl: @namaste: Does a change in activity help? Like sitting if you've been walking a lot.

I hope everyone is well! Second kid syndrome, I've been too busy to acknowledge this poor pregnancy...

We have an official date for this kid's exit, though. RCS scheduled as first case on January 22nd...exactly 70 days! Hopefully this kid will stay nice and comfy until then.

@CatchAFallingStar: I do the Tums Smoothies (so much better tasting) and drink a ton of water. I have mainly acid reflux, so the water seems to help the burn.

  28. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@Snowdrop: bladder gets my BH going too! bathroom is my first stop to try to slow them down. last night I had a ton of painful ones for no reason I could figure out though.

@CatchAFallingStar: I've had heartburn this entire pregnancy and moved from Tums to Pepcid to Prevacid now. Prevacid is a life saver, I took a 2-week course in August and started one this week (my OB said she took it every day of her pregnancy, but it holds me over a long time)

anyone else feeling the baby move down? I'm about 31 weeks. I never officially "dropped" with #1 but remember pressure going from being on my ribs to being down low (just not sure when). last night I told DH that I feel like someone's been kicking me in the crotch for hours, the bones seem to ache. pretty sure he's still head down since all the hiccups are waaay low.

  30. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@bhbee: It's so hard to tell what position they are in! I swear this baby is having the time of his life flipping around in my tummy. I could swear by his kicks that he was finally back to head down but yesterday I get the feeling he's head up again... now he feels head down again. I swear he's messing with me. Get head down little guy!!

  31. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@Espion: I hear ya, this pregnancy has flown by I've been so busy with LO1.

@bhbee: Yes! I'm 31 weeks and suddenly having pubic bone pain and it's causing me to waddle lol! Baby just had hiccups a little while ago and they were pretty much in my crotch.

  32. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

I'm starting to get impatient about meeting this baby. I am just ready to jump in head first and figure out this parenting two thing and get to know this little girl. 11 weeks seems like so far away, still. Certainly don't want a preemie, though.

  33. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@bhbee: Yes she's been pretty low but I did feel her get a little lower last night. Her hiccups are all in the crotch lol

@MapleMoose: I just stop doing everything but it still takes a while for them to stop.

    @Radish: Ah same!

  34. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Radish: I'm a cross between that and being completely overwhelmed by all the things I have to do before I'm ready for her! I have baby showers this weekend and next, so I think that after that I might feel a little more prepared.

@namaste: You know, crazy enough, I haven't felt hiccups at all since that first time! She moves around a ton (I feel like she's doing the breaststroke half the time) but I've never felt them since that one time in the early morning. So strange!

  35. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@mfa_lady: Happy baby shower weekend! She hiccups sometimes after dinner but only after dinner lol idk babies are weird. My mom couldn't recall feeling us hiccup at all.

  36. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@namaste: Thank you!! Aren't their patterns funny? I've started to notice that this little gal is on quite the schedule--there are a couple of chunks of time during the day where I can almost always predict that I'll feel her a ton or hardly at all. To your point..."babies are weird." Haha!

  37. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@mfa_lady: Yeah, I have nothing left to do to prepare for baby and I can't do all the things I want to do around the house (major projects) because I'm so hugely pregnant. Enjoy your showers!

  38. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@Radish: Me too! I wish pregnancy was shorter so that I can meet this little one. But I think if it was we would wish it to be even shorter. Haha.

@mfa_lady: Have fun at your baby showers!

i have a hard time keeping up with this thread. it moves so fast and then i get nervous about jumping back in poll time? poached from my first due date thread.

    How far along/EDD: 30w3d/Jan 21

    Total Weight Gain: 17 lbs

Stretch Marks: none, but my belly button is officially an outie. that didn't happen with #1.

    Gender: little lady.

Names Picked: Yes, i think we finalized it yesterday!

Nursery Theme: she doesn't have a nursery. will be in our room for the beginning, then will share a room with her sister.

Birth Plan: the plan is to do what is best for the baby! i have zero expectations or wishes for this birth except that the baby is healthy.

How long are you taking off: not sure. last time i took 4 months and i thought it was too long, but that is because i had a hard time adjusting to motherhood. i am hoping this time, i'll be able to adjust better and i can actually enjoy the baby.

Milestones: hit 30 weeks. is that a milestone?

Struggles: almost entirely physical. my hip is killing me. i can barely walk sometimes after i am sedentary for a long time or get out of bed. also feeling so tired. not getting enough sleep. lots of heartburn, feeling like i have to pee all the time and nothing comes out, and everything is swollen & uncomfortable.

What are you most fearful/concerned about: that 2 kids will be exponentially harder than 1...oh well. too late now! really though, i am not too worried about stuff. my dh always tells me that worrying about things i can't control doesn't serve any good purpose. so i try to not worry about things too much.

What are you most excited about: meeting baby #2 and seeing how #1 and #2 interact. baby #2 is more active than #1 was in my belly, so i'm interested to see her personality.

I've been slacking on updates so I'll jump in on this poll!

    How far along/EDD: 32 weeks 3 days/Jan 8th

    Total Weight Gain: 30lbs

Stretch Marks: none other than possibly a few on the bottom of my boobs, but I can't figure out if they are little veins or stretch marks.

    Gender: Girl!

Names Picked: we have a tentative choice, but not 100% sure yet.

Nursery Theme: Walls are peach and some mint green accents. Mostly pastels, dark wood furniture.

Birth Plan: Hoping for a natural birth, but I understand it's mostly out of my control. We want a healthy baby and mommy first and foremost.

How long are you taking off: Around 4 months is the plan.

Milestones: I feel like 35 weeks is the next milestone. 36 weeks is my next appointment and we get another ultrasound, so that's exciting.

Struggles: Where do I begin?? My hips, my back, my feet, weight gain, tiredness, peeing every two hours at night, shortness of breath...but it's all worth it for my little girl!

What are you most fearful/concerned about? Giving birth, being a mom. PPD, extra stress.

What are you most excited about?: Seeing what she looks like and seeing DH with her. Just meeting her in general and being her mom.
