How far along: 30 w 2 d (Jan 23)
Total Weight Gain: 28 lbs already...yikes
Stretch Marks: None yet (knocks on all the wood...)
Gender: BOY
Names Picked: Not even close. This one will be a battle til the very end.
Nursery Theme: guest room nursery hybrid. Walls will be painted grey eventually. Guest bedding is a print that is grey yellow and a neutralish brown, and accents in the room/baby bedding will be navy.
Birth Plan: natural birth in hospital with midwife and doula. Ultimate goal is a healthy baby healthy mama though, so whatever it takes to get to that point.
How long are you taking off?. Um, how long do I get to stay in the hospital? Then it is back to the SAHM grind times 2. And from my part time job, I am taking 2-3 weeks but then tip toeing back a couple hours a week slowly til I am back to my usual 10-12.
Milestones: 3/4 way til due date? Passing GD test?
Struggles: well I am wide awake at 3:39 am so there is that... Heartburn, back issues, exhausted all the time, itchy and sneezy, not sleeping, hubby working round the clock so solo parenting crazy toddler through all this, starting to get sick of people asking how I am feeling and not really wanting to hear the answer ( how do you think I'm feeling?!? Gahhhh).
What are you most fearful/concerned about? Being trapped indoors the whole month of February in the super cold with an overly energetic toddler and a newborn, having a tough/colicky baby, just acclimating to life with 2
What are you most excited about? Watching my boys become buddies, the birth (weird I know but I thought childbirth was such a high last time), meeting this little person who has been beating me up, not being pregnant anymore

How far along/EDD: 33w3d/Jan 1
Total Weight Gain: 14 lbs
Stretch Marks: None that weren't here from puberty
Gender: Girl
Names Picked: Yes!
Nursery Theme: The plan is gray and mustard yellow. Nothing too fancy.
Birth Plan: Hoping for a med free natural birth but will do whatever it takes for a heathy baby.
How long are you taking off: Right now I am thinking 4-6 weeks.
Milestones: Uhhh not sure lol
Struggles: Vomiting, BH, and exhaustion. What is sleep?
What are you most fearful/concerned about: Ugh not concerned but really annoyed by my MIL situation. I just can't deal/won't put up with disrespect and I don't want my daughter to have to deal with it.
What are you most excited about: Meeting my daughter/seeing DH go into baby mode. Babies love him/vice versa so it'll be charming to see him with his daughter.

Love this idea!
How far along/EDD: 33+1/January 3
Total Weight Gain: As of a week and a half ago, 16 pounds. Probably a couple more by now.
Stretch Marks: Not yet (fingers crossed!).
Gender: Girl!
Names Picked: Sort of. We have a few we like and are going to decide when she gets here.
Nursery Theme: Dark gray with jewel-toned accents and wooden furniture.
Birth Plan: Hoping for a med-free birth, in a hospital with our midwife and doula. But, really, as long as baby girl and I are okay in the end--I'll be a happy camper.
How long are you taking off: 10 weeks
Milestones: Not sure?
Struggles: Heartburn + baby up really high = hard to eat and sleep.
What are you most fearful/concerned about: Honestly, thinking about the birth stresses me out. I almost feel like I'm on the verge of having TOO much information, and I'd like to keep a little of the mystery while still feeling prepared. Also, we have a LOT to do at our house to really be ready for baby girl. We'll get there, though!
What are you most excited about: Meeting this sweet little lady. I keep crying when I think about getting to have her on my chest. (YAY hormones!)

How far along/EDD: 32 weeks 1 day /Jan 11th
Total Weight Gain: 30lbs...oops!
Stretch Marks: haven't looked - last time around I remember seeing them after my belly went down after delivery and being SO mad at my husband for not telling me they were there.
Gender: boy
Names Picked: either Logan or Mack, I'm leaning toward Logan but it changes every week!
Nursery Theme: vintage / retro-y, walls are light green with navy furniture and I found some great retro alphabet prints I'm hanging up
Birth Plan: Last time I made it until 8cm without an epidural when my plan was to get one ASAP (mostly because my doctors kept pushing a natural birth), hoping to get it sooner this time around.
How long are you taking off: 10 weeks
Milestones: We have our last ultrasound on Dec 12, so I'm just looking forward to that.
Struggles: Everything is hurting and I've had some weird stomach issues lately that won't seem to go away.
What are you most fearful/concerned about? Who is going to take care of DD while we are in the hospital. I'm leaning towards planning to exclusively pump from the beginning this time around, so I'm nervous about that.
What are you most excited about?: Meeting my SON (still get teary when I think about it being a him!), and seeing my daughter meet and interact with him.

How far along/EDD: 29w3d/Jan 30
Total Weight Gain: I think just under 25. I am not really sure of my starting or current.
Stretch Marks: Still have all my faded ones from LO1 and as far as I can tell none are fresh. 28 weeks was when they started showing last time.
Gender: Girl
Names Picked: yes.
Nursery Theme: Navy/aqua/mint and hot pink.
Birth Plan: Meds and healthy baby/mommy.
How long are you taking off: SAHM - not really applicable. I will hopefully have my mom here for a bit to help out with LO1 as I heal and adjust.
Milestones: Countdown is under 75 days.
Struggles: back pain
What are you most excited about: finally meeting her and seeing LO1 interact with her. .

How far along/EDD: 31w1d/Jan. 18
Total Weight Gain: 20-ish lbs
Stretch Marks: I haven't seen any new ones, but I'm sure they're on their way or on the bottom side of my tummy where I can't see them (and where they can join all their buddies from pregnancy #1).
Gender: little gent'
Names Picked: I'm 95% sure that we know who this little boy will be, but we'll wait to see him before we officially decide.
Nursery Theme: Uh...I've got to do something on a nursery. I think we're doing white, yellow, and grey.
Birth Plan: I'm hoping for a VBAC if my placenta has moved up and baby is still head down. I'd like to put off an epidural for a while in case it slows labor, but I'll get one at some point, in case something goes wrong and I need to have an emergency C-section.
How long are you taking off: Stay at home mom now, so I get no/unlimited time off depending on how you look at it!
Milestones: Being in the 30-something weeks--it makes me feel better when people talk about how I don't have much longer to at least be in the 30s.
Struggles: Heartburn. Other than that, I'm just generally getting to the really uncomfortable, can't roll over in bed without it being a 3-point turn, etc.
What are you most fearful/concerned about: How Finn & Elliot will adjust to the new baby. Managing 3 kiddos. Having to have a repeat c-section and not being able to pick up the boys, etc. for longer. How breastfeeding will go this time around.
What are you most excited about: Meeting this little guy!

How far along/EDD: 31w4d/Jan 15th
Total Weight Gain: 20 pounds
Stretch Marks: None so far
Gender: Team Green
Names Picked: Girl name is set in stone. Boy name we have no idea.
Nursery Theme: Moving LO1 into a new big girl bedroom so we have been working on that. It's a jungle animal theme, focusing on her favorite animal giraffes. Walls are painted, wardrobe is ordered, still have to buy a convertible crib/toddler bed, found cute giraffe print valances I will order, have to get a glider chair, maybe a giraffe print area rug. The nursery we are leaving as is; it's a beachy sea turtle starfish theme.
Birth Plan: Won't schedule potential induction until a few weeks from now. Last time they scheduled my induction for 10 days past my due date. We'll see if labor will start naturally this time. I will wait until I'm in the moment to decide about getting an epidural. My hospital does skin-to-skin and immediate attempts at breastfeeding.
How long are you taking off? I'm taking an extended leave from my WAH job and will be a SAHM. Not sure when I will return to work.
Milestones: Passed that darn GD test and no abnormalities found on the scan like there were with LO1.
Struggles: Pubic pain lately.
What are you most fearful/concerned about: Caring for my very clingy toddler and a newborn. Also I hope breastfeeding is easier this time around because I don't think I can/want to pump like I did with LO1 while caring for 2. Also I hope LO2 doesn't have food allergies like big sister does.
What are you most excited about: Finding out if it's a girl or boy!

So much to catch up on in this thread! I've been crazy busy with work, then my sister got married last weekend. Hopefully things will settle down a bit now that's over!
I think I had some Braxton Hicks contractions over the weekend- felt like a quick sharp muscle cramp in my lower stomach, and they just kind of came and went randomly. I had been on my feet and not drinking or eating as much as I normally do, so I'm guessing that's what brought them on!
DH surprised me by finishing the trim in the nursery and setting up the crib
Hope everyone else is doing well! I'm going back to read everything I missed now

How far along/EDD: 33w4d/Jan 1st - 45 days!!!
Total Weight Gain: ~15 pounds
Stretch Marks: No new ones that I can see yet. Tons from last time.
Gender: pink
Names Picked: I'm 100% for one name, DH is still all over the place.
Nursery Theme: platinum, cream, and white. Fairly simple. Waiting to pick carpet. DH is patching the subfloor today.
Birth Plan: no plan yet. I have a RCS date 12/29 but haven't decided against vbac yet. I have another US to check growth and will probably decide then. Definitely getting an epi. I did 47 hours without one last time, then got it and felt like dumb for putting it off for so long. Props to the ladies going natural!
How long are you taking off?I'm in Canada and taking the full year off. DH will be home for all of January. In looking forward to the family time. He didn't take any time last time and regretted it.
Milestones:I can say the baby will be here next month. Makes my humongous belly size not seen so bad.
Struggles: getting enough rest. The final bits of our reno are taking forever and I'm still out of the house for 10 hours a day, taking care of DD1, and not taking it easy as much as I should. I had lowish fluid levels at my last scan and have been instructed to be off my feet as much as possible. It's hard to show down when I see so much to do from the sofa.
What are you most fearful/concerned about: aside from a bad birth outcome (sandy has been heavy on my heart) Care for #1 while I'm in labor for #2. Our in town family all leaves town the day after Christmas so if I go into labor between Christmas or my c-section date (when my parents come) we're in trouble.
What are you most excited about: seeing #1 with #2. She's in love with my bump and give "baby tister" a lot of hugs and kisses.
persimmon / 1096 posts
Soooo behind on this thread thanks to moving... survey seems like a good place to catch up!
How far along/EDD: 31 weeks 6 days
Total Weight Gain: 12 pounds
Stretch Marks: None yet (FX)
Gender: Team Green, baby
Names Picked: Benjamin (Ben) if it's a boy, Rose (Rosie) or Anna if it's a girl
Nursery Theme: Peter Rabbit. Same stuff we used for J. In fact, in my mind they are going to be sharing a room after we move LO#2 out of our room, so J "gets" to keep his nursery look too. The nursery is a huge room, and the other bedroom is much smaller so I want to use it as a playroom. The fourth bedroom is on the third floor of the house and has to be for guests.
Birth Plan: No real plan, per se. Hospital delivery, epidural once things are nice and painful. Really hoping it goes as well as last time. I can't ask for better than 15 minutes of pushing!
How long are you taking off? I'm a SAHM, so... the next few years? Haha. I occasionally do some freelance writing for my former employer, so I might take on a few projects in the mid-spring. We'll see how life with two goes!
Milestones: Just finally getting unpacked, getting the nursery and playroom somewhat set up, and feeling much more prepared for baby's debut.
Struggles: Some self-confidence issues right now. The scale says I haven't put on a whole lot of weight, but my belly is just so much bigger than I remember it being last time, and I want to have a waist again. I know it's for a good cause, and most of both pregnancies I've liked the bump and felt cute - but getting into the third tri, I just want to feel like myself again.
What are you most fearful/concerned about: Same as @oliviaoblivia: - I can't stop thinking about Sandy, and (while rare) all the tragic things that can happen in L&D, and with newborns. I'm also stressing about going into labor before my mom gets out here (1 week before due date) - because we literally have no family or friends close by in this new town, so if things progressed too fast, J would just have to be at the hospital with us.
What are you most excited about: I have a third tri scan this time! My new OB does things differently, so I get another peek on Thursday. I also can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl, meet this little person and see what they look like, and watch J become a big brother.

Has anyone thought about / requested their free insurance breast pump yet? This law hadn't gone into effect yet when I had my daughter so I'm excited to see what my insurance offers. They were super vague when I called and just said my OB needs to write a prescription and I need to go a specific medical supply company to get it, I'm hoping to get a second Freestyle so I can share parts between the two.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@HappyBaker: I got a free one last time. It was stupid because that company would wait until your due date to ship it, so I had to call after I had her and get them to ship it out then since I had her early - should have lied about my due date. I ended up paying like $20 or something like that and I didn't need a prescription or anything. I have a different insurance now and it tells me what company to go through and to get a prescription, but it says to wait until you are within 2 months of your due date, so I haven't gotten it yet.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@HappyBaker: @Radish: I got mine already. Like @HappyBaker:, my insurance was kind of weird. They referred me to the supplier, who told me they couldn't ship it until a month before her due date, but then it came in the mail the next week. Kind of bizarre, but it all worked out (at least, so far so good--I haven't seen a bill!). I didn't need a prescription, even though my midwife gave me one at a recent appointment after I'd already gotten the pump. She said she just writes them for everyone just in case.
nectarine / 2242 posts
@mfa_lady: @Radish: Sounds like it varies quite a bit! I wasn't planning on getting one since I already have a Freestyle, but now that I'm thinking about EP-ing I feel like I might as well.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@HappyBaker: If you can get it for free without much hassle, I definitely would! Can't hurt.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@HappyBaker: My old one works just fine, but if insurance is going to cover a new one I'm going to take them up on it for sure. Never know when one will crap out.

My Coobies came last night! I'm still having heartburn like a you-know-what, but this thing is seriously SO COMFORTABLE. I don't love how my boobs look in it, but I think that'll just take some getting used to. And besides, it's freezing today--I'll just keep wearing huge scarves and nobody will see my boobs anyway.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@mfa_lady: Yay! Have you heard of the boob scoop and swoop method? I didn't like how my boobs looked in coobie bras either but the scoop and swoop has helped them look better. It's totally worth the comfort.

@HappyBaker: I got a free one last time and I still have it. I'll just use that one again this time since I got it in 2013. The LC took care of the paperwork for me after delivery while I used the hospital pump as an inpatient. Once the paperwork cleared later that day the LC brought me a brand new Medela pump so I was able to take it home with me.

I have totally forgotten about this board! Here's my bit of participation.
How far along/EDD: 32 weeks, 2 days
Total Weight Gain: 17
Stretch Marks: Nope! (KNOCK ON WOOD)
Gender: Girl
Names Picked: Quinn Evelyn
Nursery Theme: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/finished-our-nursery
Birth Plan: None, really. I thought I wanted all the meds possible, but now I'm worried it'll affect breastfeeding too much. So, we'll see.
How long are you taking off? I'm a wedding photographer, so fall/winter is my time off anyway. I have about 5 months off.
Struggles: HEARTBURN and acid reflux, not enough maternity clothes but not enough $ to keep buying more!
What are you most fearful/concerned about: I'm starting to just worry about how our lives will change. I don't want my relationship with my husband to change (although I know it will). I also don't want my relationship with my current baby (yellow lab) to change! Also, how can I live without my sleeeeeeeep!? That scares me a lot. Nervous about breastfeeding, too. I just hope it's easy for me.
What are you most excited about: Just seeing her that first moment. I can't imagine the emotion I'll feel. I can't wait to just spend my days with her and watch my husband with her. I'm honestly excited for the after newborn phase when she's smiling and her personality starts to shine through. The newborn part will be the hardest, I think. But, I'm so ready to be a mom. I just can't imagine the joy.

Has anyone found a comfortable way to sleep? I'm seriously considering moving to a recliner at this point! My hips are killing me from sleeping on my side, and flipping over to the other side is so painful. I really wish I had bought a giant pregnancy pillow!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@HappyBaker: what helps for me is to pull some of the duvet between my legs. That reduces the hip and pelvic pain for me.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@HappyBaker: My hips are killing me as well at night. I tried a quilt between my legs last night and I think it was better. I was trying a pillow before that, but it was too big. I'm just so tired constantly I think I'm able to ignore the pain enough.
nectarine / 2242 posts
I am going to borrow one of those ridiculous giant pregnancy pillows from another mom in my town - I'll let you know if it helps! We only have a queen bed but at this point I don't care if I'm taking up all the space
apricot / 316 posts
@HappyBaker: omg I am basically suffering every night. For some reason any time I have to turn I get a lot of pain in my hips and thigh muscles. I don't really have pain during the day, it only seems to be at night, it's so bizarre. I think it's because the ligaments in the pelvis are stretching out.
I do not have a body pillow, I tried using several smaller pillows but it doesn't help so I stopped using them. I actually dread the night now because I know I'll be in pain.
nectarine / 2079 posts
Spending today cooking and doubling recipes to freeze for post baby. So happy my feet aren't killing me.
grapefruit / 4006 posts
@HappyBaker: @pmrlady: @Radish: I am also suffering from really painful hip pain when I turn at night. I didn't have this at all with #1. my doc said it was my sacroiliac joint and it is only on my left side, to the left of my tailbone. Its also started to affect my ability to walk after being sedentary or lying down for a long time. I made an appointment with a physical therapist but it isn't for another week and a half. I don't know how to manage it otherwise. I've tried pillows to support my body and align my pelvis but it doesn't work...ah. I'm just having a little pity party for myself right now because I still have 8+ weeks to go!

How is everyone doing?
This year we are having a small thanksgiving with just DH, LO and I. We have family close by but we just wanted to be drama free this year.
I'm going a little bit overboard with DH's help. I told my co-worker we are having a turkey and ham and she was shocked. Haha. She is having a gathering of like 10 people and she's only making a ham.
This is the first time I'm making turkey and I wanted to brine it because every time we have a brine turkey it always taste super good. Dumbly I thought it was just salt and water but it turns out to be a little more than that. We will see how it turns out. Our ham is from honey baked ham... we think those are the best for the holidays.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@Raindrop: Sounds lovely! Right now I'll be cooking but I have plans to join my bff and her in-laws as well. I don't mind it just being us (eventually the three of us) for Thanksgiving. I grew up with 30-40 people over on Thanksgiving and it just is exhausting being "on" all day lol
Visiting home was lovely! We came back with a car full of baby stuff and now I get to spend the week actually buckling down on the nursery. I will say that wearing compression socks on the drive up was a terrible idea. I've never seen my ankles so swollen and didn't have that issue after the drive down.
Hope you're all lovely! Also, today's doctor appointment went well. Will be starting weekly appointments in two weeks. Yikes!
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@namaste: Nice!! What kind of baby stuff did you get? I feel like baby stuff moves the speed of lightening these days. Rock and plays weren't even a thing when LO was born but we might get one for this one.
We have done like zero for this baby... I got him a few new clothes... and when I say a few like 3 outfits since he's a boy and we saved all of LO's old clothes. Though I do plan to buy him a new coming home outfit... just haven't gotten around to it yet... we are bad!
Good to hear your appointment went well!!

I had my baby shower yesterday and got a little over half of the stuff on our registry which I'm very grateful for. We played a baby shower version of Jeopardy which was fun.
We are going to my husband's family's house for Thanksgiving. Thankfully I don't have to make a turkey but I will be making stuffed mushrooms for the first time so I hope they turn out good.
I can't believe it's almost December
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@pmrlady: Glad you had a great shower! Stuff mushrooms yum!
OMG I just ordered two pies from Marie Calendars - DH and I couldn't agree on a pie... well actually we did but we wanted to try out their new caramel pecan pumpkin pie and get our usual blueberry pie. We were like F-it get both! If we are disappointed with the new pie at least we have a tried and true pie to enjoy. Definitely going overboard!
But look at this pie!!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@HappyBaker: Ugh, I learned after last pregnancy that "comfortable sleep" and "third trimester" just don't go in the same sentence. Hip pain over here at night too. And turning from side to side is such a process!!
@Radish: I also just did a half day of cooking freezer meals this weekend. Although my legs were tired after and I was so ready to sit for a little while.
@namaste: @pmrlady: Always fun to go through all the new baby items! We are getting so close!
@Raindrop: Holy cow that pie looks amazing.
We always go to my parents for Thanksgiving. It's a huge event with an average of 30+ family members and some travel to get there so they stay for a few nights. We start the festivities on Wednesday with some prep work like getting the stuffing ready, washing/peeling/chopping veggies, etc. It'll be different this year chasing my LO around but still nice to catch up with everyone and hang out.
pomegranate / 3577 posts
@Raindrop: Oh we've done exactly nothing for this kid. The only outfits we have (that are new) were gifted to us!
That pie looks yummy! (Is "tin" just tax?)
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@Espion: Haha!
OOOoo you have never got a Marie calendar pie before!!? The tin is 50 cents... and you get it back when you return the pie tin. I have no idea why they do this... to be more environment friendly? I think they do re-use the tins... don't quote me though! But yeah if you have a Marie calendar near you ... you should try their pies. They are good!
