@oliviaoblivia: That's a bummer about the vbac, but there is something nice about the known of a repeat section.
@Espion: I'm picturing a girl version of your LO and she would be freaking adorable.
@namaste: hope your husbands schedule gets figured out! 12/20 is around the corner! Any particular reason for those dates?
@HappyBaker: Aww what a great picture!

@HappyBaker: oh no, hope your LO will be ok soon and that your luck is better than mine was in terms of not getting sick yourself. And little dude is very handsome already.

@Radish: I just would prefer pre-January and it gives me enough time to sort of get my head together before the year starts back up (mid-January). Selfish I know!
@HappyBaker: Hope your toddler feels better! Being sick during this weather is awful. Your baby is such a cutie!

Days Until Due Date: 34
If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? Late January. Not that I want to go 10 days late again but I'd like to have the birth after the craziness of the holidays calms down.
Is baby named? If it's a girl, yes. We are closing in on a boy name but haven't decided between a few choices yet.
Are you ready? Almost. Still have to pack my hospital bag and sanitize my pump parts.
Is SO ready? No, not quite. He has to install the infant car seat and pack his overnight bag. I also asked him to organize his side of the home office before #2 arrives because we won't have any free time soon. It's bothering me because it's so cluttered...must be nesting.
do you have a final guess on what it will be? I had a dream right before Thanksgiving that it was a few years later and we were all sitting around the Thanksgiving table and #2 was a boy.

@oliviaoblivia: You'll probably be our first mama to give birth so that's exciting! Sorry about the VBAC issues though.
@Espion: I love the part about your grandparents still holding hands!
@Pumuckl: I'm right there with you on the undecided names. Do you want it set in stone before you deliver or will you choose once LO arrives? I think I want it chosen ahead of time.
@namaste: Interesting that you want a December baby. What an amazing Christmas present that would be.
@HappyBaker: Such an adorable baby! Oh no, puking toddlers are not fun. Hang in there!

Days Until Due Date: 6 weeks from today.
If you could pick a day to have baby, when? Ideally a weekend or a Tuesday or Thursday. We have easier childcare options those days (crazy I know). Frankly if I knew baby would be healthy, I would have him ASAP but with my luck, he will probably come on Feb 6, induced 14 days after I'm due (grumpy preggo over here...)
Is baby named? We have narrowed to a list of 9 names we don't hate. This guy will probably be named at the hospital.
Are you ready? Yes and no. Ready not to be pregnant, not ready logistics wise or to have two kids...
Is SO ready? He has a huge project at work that ends Jan 31, so I think he is hoping for a late baby.

Days Until Due Date (est induction date): 36 days!
If you could pick a day..: I had DD on a Thursday night, which was perfect in terms of DH's work schedule and visitors!
Is the baby named?: yes, she is
are you ready?: oh yes. so over this rhinitis and back pain!!!
is SO ready?: he seems much more excited/ready this time around - maybe because he's done it before?

Days Until Due Date: 22. (OMG.)
If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? 12/30 or 1/3.
Is baby named? Ish. We have a couple of names that we like, and we're waiting until she's born to decide.
Are you ready? NO. Ready to not be pregnant anymore, yes. Ready to labor? No. Ready to bring a baby home? No. But, I'm so excited to meet this little lady that I think that wins.
Is SO ready? Probably more ready than me. He's kind of looking forward to labor because as my birth partner he'll get to DO something to help me. Right now he does a lot of watching me grow this baby, and I think that's kind of hard/frustrating for him. He wants to be involved!

Days Until Due Date (est induction date): 47 days.
If you could pick a day..: Any day is fine! Before Feb. 4th! Haha.
Is the baby named?: Nope! We have a default name but we aren't in love with it... but we weren't really love with LO #1's name either and we like it a lot now. I think names grow on us.
are you ready?: Ready for the pregnancy to be over yes! Ready for a new baby to care for... just about but it still kind of overwhelming.
is SO ready?: He has always been more ready than me!

Days Until Due Date: 30 days. Wow!
If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? I like that 1/14/15 would follow the same pattern as J - he was born on 3/10/13, so, you know x+y=z. I loved that! But honestly I don't care when baby comes at this point, as long as it's not a. Christmas Day or b. two weeks late.
Is baby named? No. I'm having a much harder time narrowing down names this time around. Part of it is that I have a teensy bit of name regret with J. I love his first name, and I love his middle name, but I don't love the way they sound together and I wish we would have gone a bit more formal with his proper name - even though we'd still call him J! So I'm way overthinking it this time around. We have three girls names and three or four boys names we're still considering.
Are you ready? Not really. Still need to wash a ton of clothes, find the infant car seat base, and find the Baby K'Tan. But we set up the crib today, plus the swing and RnP the other day, so we're making some progress.
Is SO ready? Yes and no. We're both having some anxiety over J no longer being our only, although we definitely want him to have a sibling and I know he'll be a great big brother. But DH is an only child, so I think he's more worried about this than me. Also - DH will have to take over a lot of J's care in the first few weeks, and I think he's excited and a little nervous. He works long hours and J has a mommy preference so it's going to be a transition, but he's starting to do more already and their bond is getting better than ever, which is really sweet to see. So I think he's looking forward to it! And being TG, we're both really anxious to meet this little lad or lady.
do you have a final guess on what it will be? I still don't have a strong instinct either way, but both of us are thinking it's a girl now. That's my guess, and I'm sticking to it.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@sorrycharlie: Same here, I had B on a Thursday morning and it worked out really well with DH's workschedule. We'll see how it goes this time.
@keepcalmcarrie: same thing here with the big brother "issues". On the one hand we're really excited for B to be a big brother and I think personality wise he'll be a great big brother but on the other hand we feel almost sorry for him because we sure are rocking his world and putting things upside down for him.
@MapleMoose: I'd prefer to have a decided upon name before delivery but it might not work out that way and we'll decide on a name once we meet her.
I love reading everyone's updates!

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be?On her due date would be fine with me, but any time after Christmas is good
Is baby named? We have a short list, but I don't want to decide on anything for sure until we meet here.
Are you ready? Nope! I'm happy to let this baby cook awhile longer! (well, I guess I could be ready, I'm just not prepared )
Is SO ready? He's trying to be, I think he's going through the father's version of nesting right now- in a hurry to get all the little things finished up.

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? Right before my OB goes on vacation so 12/22 or 12/23. I really don't want to wait till January, I'm ready to get her out lol.
Is baby named? Yes. So far DH and I have been calling her by her initials which turns out to be 'JEM'. I wonder if we'll still call her that after she's born hehe
Are you ready? Yes and No. I'll be a FTM so I don't think I'll ever be really ready but at the same time I want to be done being pregnant and start getting my body back.
Is SO ready? I think so. He has already created an online blog to document his life as a dad lol. But I'm sure he's a little nervous too.

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? during a weekday during the day so that we'd have childcare for LO#1 and then my parents could come to watch her at night.
Is baby named? Yes.
Are you ready? Mentally yes. I'm sick of being pregnant. But i still have to wash clothes, buy diapers, install the car seat, set up a bassinet and bring all of the gear out of the closet. I basically have nothing accomplished.
Is SO ready? I think so. He doesn't seem too anxious, but he didn't with #1 either.

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? Jan 1! Not because I want a New Year's baby, but because it's the last possible day I could have my baby and have my best friend and in-laws be in town. Assuming, he doesn't want to come that day, any time after 38 weeks is good with me, though I'm assuming he'll wait until the last possible moment.
Is baby named? I *think* we have a name picked, but we'll officially wait until we meet him.
Are you ready? Mentally, yes. Actually ready? Heck no. My list of "to do"s is so long I can't even write it. But, I keep telling myself that we have enough done that we'd be okay if he showed up.
Is SO ready? Probably not, but I don't think I've asked. He definitely still has some things he'd like to get done.

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? Maybe a week early, so about 1/6. I don't want to be late!
Is baby named? Yes, Quinn Evelyn
Are you ready? Who knows? Haha. We have most all of the STUFF we need except for the stroller (saving for a Bob) and the baby monitor (which we won't need right away anyway). But, mentally and physically ready? I doubt it!!
Is SO ready? I don't think he thinks about it as much as I do. I doubt he's mentally prepared for all the changes we have coming. But, he's very level-headed and not a worrier/over-thinker like me.

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be? December 18th! I'll be to term and I would be so happy to have her out!
Is baby named? We are pretty sure on the first and middle name, but I don't think we'll be 100% until we see her.
Are you ready? YES!! I'm so sick of being pregnant. I went on a nesting rampage and got everything organized and cleaned and now its like the hands on the clock are ticking in slow motion.
Is SO ready? I think so. He's a pretty chill, go with the flow kinda guy.

I'm behind, but enjoying catching up on updates! I love the ultrasound pictures--such an amazing change from those first little floating masses early on!
@mfa_lady: glad to hear the ultrasound went well. I love that you girl is stretching out and trying to get as much room as possible while she can.

If you could pick a day to have baby, when would it be?
I'm 38w on 12/30 and my mom will be here to watch #1 so I wouldn't complain about that . . . seeing that as unlikely, Jan 10-18 sometime would be great so I could catch up post holidays but not get too close to LO#1 b-day on 1/24.
Is baby named?
Not really, we have a short list but it's going to be decided in the hospital almost for sure.
Are you ready?
Mentally/physically YES. I hit the serious swelling around 34w and it just zaps my energy. I also think this guy has bruised my ribs. In terms of baby stuff, it would be fine if things happened, but we still need to set everything up (car seat, pnp for our room, etc), pack bags, wash baby stuff, etc. Thinking I will do that right when our guests leave on 12/30.
Is SO ready?
As ready as he'll ever be? I think we're both pretty calm about labor and such having done it before, both worried about surviving a newborn and 3yo but nothing we can really prepare for there!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
Had a bit of a scare last night--lots of bright red bleeding after sex. Well, felt like a lot, but wasn't really. My completely amazing midwife reassured me that as long as the bleeding was stopping (it had actually already stopped by the time I was on the phone with her) it was totally normal and just means we're getting close to the end. Still have some brown this morning, but she told me last night that that was perfectly normal, too. It's always something at this point, huh?

@mfa_lady: Ahhh! How scary but so glad everything is ok.
My weekend was so busy. We took the bff and her husband out last night to ask them to be the godparents and share her name and she told me she's due in June! I have an appointment at 1:35 so hopefully I can get an update on what this baby is up to.

@namaste: exciting, you only have like to more weeks until EDD right?
@mfa_lady: wow that sounds scary. I would've totally freaked out. Glad all is well.
I was at the hospital today for preregistration. They gave me all the paperwork for a potential epidural etc. at the same time she kept repeating that there probably wouldn't be time for it this time either. I mentioned that I was a little concerned with my fast 1st delivery and how quickly it'll be this time and she reassured me that 2nd time moms usually know a lot better what their body is currently up to and thus all should be good. But to please leave early enough
nectarine / 2242 posts
@mfa_lady: Glad everything is okay, and wow good for you guys for still having sex! That ship has sailed haha
@Pumuckl: How fast was your first?
I keep thinking my water is about to break, like every time I stand up I expect it to go. My NST this morning was good and resting is keeping my BP in check, so now I feel like maybe I won't get induced if it stays this way / he will probably freaking be late!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Radish: @namaste: @Pumuckl: @HappyBaker: Thanks, y'all! It was super scary--but I was surprised at how calm I stayed. I think if it had been any time other than right after sex, I would have lost it. I was also grateful for my growth scan last week, because since I'd had it, my midwife was able to tell that my placenta was in the right place and everything looked good. There's a reason for everything, right?
The whole ordeal also made me realize that labor is going to be happening REALLY FLIPPING SOON. I mean, that was kind of my first thought as I was dialing my midwife..."If she wants me to come in, I could have this baby tonight." That was rather...eye-opening.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@namaste: SO FUN to have friends with babies around the same age!
@Pumuckl: Preregistration! We're getting so close!
@HappyBaker: Glad all is looking good and you're able to rest. I'm thinking about you!!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@HappyBaker: I had first contractions (like every 10min or so) at 4am and a baby before 10am. They checked me at the hospital at 8:15am and I was "only" 5cm dilated so it went really fast from there on out. Glad "bedrest" is helping for you aswell. I have my 5week anniversary on the couch tomorrow
@mfa_lady: Jupp we're definitely getting close! Glad you managed to stay calm during the whole ordeal.

@Pumuckl: Sounds a lot like my cousin's wife's first birth. Her water broke (at 35 weeks, no less) at 11PM and baby was born at 4AM. Also, it was daylight savings night...so subtract an hour even from that!

@mfa_lady: scary! My husband would totally freak. On the DTD note, does anyone feel a little strange it at this point in pregnancy? I know the baby has no idea what is going on, but the last time we were together, she was so active and moving all around afterwards. It was odd.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Pumuckl: they did my registration when I had my glucose tolerance test. I thought they were confused and were checking me in for labor that day! It's a milestone for sure.

@Pumuckl: Yep only 17 more days.
@mfa_lady: I'm so excited to have babies that are close in age.
@Happygal: We DTD on Saturday so lol I just haven't thought about it too much honestly although I should.
My appointment went well! I didn't make it through my cervix check because her head is sitting on top of my cervix and it was super painful. My OB says I'm definitely dilating and she guesses it could be 3 cm but no definite answer. So exciting yet so painful lol
