I love the idea of having different threads. I've fallen off because I just got overwhelmed and felt so behind!!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
LO's name: Austin
Age: 4 Months
Weight: He was 16 lbs on our old school scale, will find out for sure at his well check next week!
Length: Approximately 24 inches!
Recent milestones: He's definitely found his voice this week. More than just baby babble and cooing, it's like BOOM baby talking/squealing/laughing!
Milestone you're most looking forward to: rt now, I'll be happy with rolling over (belly to back) and in the coming months, sitting up!
How's feeding going: EBF, really well. No issues, but may start taking MMP for pumping supply issues.
How's sleep going: after the short regression, he's been pretty consistent again. 730-630/7. 1 nap is usually at least an hour.. sometimes they're all that long, and other days he catnaps 30 min. (he still naps in swing, sometimes crib).
What is your favorite trait about your LO? his easy going nature and curiosity about the world around him!
What is something silly that your LO does? Loves sqealing and kicking his legs when he's excited
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM M-W, WAHM TH-F
PP Feelings: I'm feeling good, still have some PP weight to lose, but haven't had to buy new clothes so I think that helped a lot. I've adjusted to work/mom life and am appreciating everything so much more.

Hey ladies! Oh I love that idea! I fell behind too because A seemed to be having such a different journey to everyone else (harness restricting her so couldn't roll over etc) but have missed my November mamas!
Plus now we have an hour out of it a day we're catching up and A is super close to commando crawling!
How are you all? How are your lovely babies?

@travelgirl1: OMG! Crawling already? These babies are growing up sooooo fast!

LO's name: Weston
Age: 4.5 Months (20 weeks, born on Halloween)
Weight: 15 pounds, 11 ounces as of 3/13
Length: Over 26 inches as of 3/1
Recent milestones: Can roll tummy to back when he wants to and has been trying really hard to roll back to tummy, but usually stops at his side. Can sit up for about 5 seconds without falling over.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Sitting up unassisted.
How's feeding going: EBF, which was challenging in the beginning, but got easy around 8-9 weeks. He does great with bottles now that I'm back at work, but I'm not a fan of pumping so much. We made it through week one without needing extra milk from the freezer, so I consider that a success. I let him suck/gum an apple slice a week ago because he was grabbing it out of my hand, but we are not really doing solids until six months.
How's sleep going: Much better! He got really off track after we had to swaddle wean, then got a cold, then shots, then 4 month sleep regression (and bad habits). We kinda sleep trained, but he didn't really cry (more whined/yelled). Now he's better at getting back to sleep. Since then he's done 8-6/7. He usually takes three naps per day and sometimes a really short catnap in the evening when we go on a walk (love the time change for this!).
What is your favorite trait about your LO? His ability to make us all smile. There's just something about baby smiles and laughs that is contagious.
What is something silly that your LO does? Like to blow spit bubbles and make fart sounds.
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? Just completed my first week back at work! I work M-Th, 10 hour days, but have three day weekends every week! I may also start telecommuting one day a week, but want to get back in the groove first.
PP Feelings: I'm trying to have as much of a healthy and balanced life as possible. I'm enjoying being more active than I was pre-pregnancy. Breastfeeding is a great motivation to eat better and make sure I'm drinking water, taking vitamins, etc. I love being a mom to my little guy and have enjoyed seeing my husband become a dad.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
Skipping the name question but her name is on some gold threads. It starts with M
Age: 4 Months on Tuesday
Weight: No clue. Can't wait to find out at her appointment next Friday!! She was 11 lbs 4 ounces at her two month appointment and she's definitely been packing on the pounds since then. Somebody has some thunder thighs : )
Length: Again, no clue, will update next Friday
Recent milestones: She has started to really belly laugh. And she can grasp a toy and bring it to her mouth really well. The child seems to really love putting toys and especially her fingers in her mouth!
Milestone you're most looking forward to: She can roll belly to back, and she can almost go back to belly if she's swaddled. Looking forward to back to belly on her own. And I can't wait for her to sit up so we can play more. She does really well in the bumbo!
How's feeding going: Had some big highs and big lows recently! She totally decided overnight to wean herself from the nipple shield which is amazing! But going back to work has hurt my supply. I'm able to keep up with day care needs but barely, and I'm not freezing any extra like I used to. The worst part is that since she's away from me all day she wants to nurse all evening but she gets so frustrated because my supply is so low at the end of the day... so there have been some serious screaming fits. Not fun.
How's sleep going: Horrible. She teased us with a month and a half of sleeping 9pm-7am almost every night and now her sleep just gets worse and worse every night. I think we're going to have to sleep train soon.
What is your favorite trait about your LO? How much she loves her mama. She's already showing a preference for me and I can't say I don't looooove it!
What is something silly that your LO does? Every morning she wakes herself up with farts and then laughs about it!
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM
PP Feelings: I'm tired... but oher than that I'm great! I'm so happy with my little family.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@travelgirl1: Oh man... army crawling already!! Don't scare me. I'm not ready to baby proof!!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
LO's name: Charlotte Rose
Age: 4 Months on the 27th!
Weight: 15 lbs at her visit to the doctor last week (she has bronchilitis!)
Length: Not sure! Will find out at her well check on Thursday
Recent milestones: Giggles! Oh man they are the best.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Regular rolling from belly to back. She's done it 3x over the last month or so, but they all seem to be isolated/accidental incidents
How's feeding going: Fine. Still doing 50/50 formula and breastmilk. No big changes there. Pumping at work is going well in terms of supply. Struggling with breastfeeding emotionally today. Just wish I didn't have to be consciously aware of my breasts (too full? too empty? having my nipples stimulated constantly, etc.) at all times.
How's sleep going: Great. Most nights she STTN (8ish - 6ish). Every once in awhile we'll go through a period where she will wake up in the middle of the night once. But, 2+ times are almost unheard of now. Very thankful!
What is your favorite trait about your LO? Her good mood! She's been so sick lately, but you'd never know it by her demeanor.
What is something silly that your LO does? She is starting to have inflections in her voice when she babbles. "Arr." "Mmm!" "MMM." "rrrr." "Wah?"
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM Monday-Friday. Still love it.
PP Feelings: Trying to wean myself off the Zoloft (following orders from doctor to start taking it every other day instead of every day) But I feel pretty depressed, so I might have to go back to daily use. I'm working on setting up some regular counseling sessions and hopefully the talk therapy can help supplement and then replace the medicine.
STILL wearing maternity jeans. I need to invest in a new pair of regular button ones. My pre-preg jeans are not even close to fitting yet (or may not ever, my hips are much wider I think)
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@MamaMoose: Same here with the end of the day feeding issues. LO takes a bottle all day and when she gets home she is so happy to nurse with me, but then gets really frustrated that things aren't flowing as easily as from the bottle.
persimmon / 1161 posts
@highwire: @MamaMoose: In just one week of work, I've noticed the same thing. He gets bottles of 4-5 oz and there's no way he's getting that from me in the evening and right before bed. I usually give him extra milk in a bottle before bed, but I had to do it yesterday evening too. It seems like on work days that I'm basically pumping all the time with only 1-2 nursing sessions and even then he needs the extra milk that was pumped earlier.

I Love this idea!
LO's name: Ellora
Age: 4 Months (18w)
Weight: 15lb 13 oz as of 3/11/13
Length: 25 3/4 inches
Recent milestones: She's been rolling back to belly for a month now but has recently rolled belly to back a handful of times. She also found her feet not long ago and has started sucking her big toes! She sits assisted and has started to really love practicing standing while we hold her arms.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: That first big belly laugh. She half laughs now, starts and then tapers off but it's coming! Excited for her to sit up unassisted, too.
How's feeding going: EBF still going strong. Pumping 3x at work and getting 16-18 oz average. LO drinks 13-16 oz at daycare.
How's sleep going: We've been able to get back into a good routine but it was interrupted by the time change and she still is going to bed a little later than she was before then. Down around 8-9, wakes 12-2 to feed, again 4-5. Up for the day at 6:45/7 depending on her last feed. Naps are all over the place. Some days are two 1-2 hour naps, some days she will only take a couple 30 min. naps. Weekend naps are hard too, she only ever sleeps when we're holding her
What is your favorite trait about your LO? How happy she is in the mornings and how GIANT her smile is when she sees something she likes.
What is something silly that your LO does? Loves making raspberries (her newest trick), and playing peek-a-boo.
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM
PP Feelings: Things are going well, better than I expected. Work/home balance is getting easier and the daily routine is settling into something DH and I enjoy. I still have weight I want to lose but I feel good and I went ahead and bought some new clothes so that might have helped
pear / 1992 posts
@travelgirl1: LO is starting to scoot around when she's on her tummy too! She does it every night in her crib (sleeps on her belly) and we have to make sure she is far enough at the foot of her crib when she falls asleep or else she'll end up in the corner too fast!
grapefruit / 4066 posts
good idea! i was still following along on the other thread, but was so behind i felt overwhelmed trying to post/reply!
LO's name: M (not sharing due to privacy)
Age: a little over 4 months
Weight: She was 16 pounds at 3 months, we have our 4 month appt on Tues so i will find out then, I'm guessing around 18, she's a little porkchop!
Length: was 26 inches at 3 months..
Recent milestones: She is rolling from back to belly (like obsessed with it, as soon as she is on her back she rolls over to her belly, then we have to roll her back because she gets pissed that she cant roll back haha), belly laughs, trying to scoot when she is on her tummy
Milestone you're most looking forward to: sitting up unassisted
How's feeding going: EBF, going great. I love nursing so much now! so glad i stuck with it. I work part time and pump on those days, and she takes a bottle like a pro now
How's sleep going: sleep was great for awhile, up 1-2 times a night, but the past few nights have been bad (4-5 night wakings) and am thinking its the 4 month sleep regression or wonder week 19. ive come to realize that as soon as things are good, something throws them off, and they wont last forever!
What is your favorite trait about your LO? everything hehe, i am obsessed with her!! her chubby little rolls, her smile is contagious, she is so happy in the mornings, the way she grunts and sounds like some type of gremin lol, and her snuggles!!
What is something silly that your LO does? she laughs hysterically at anything that daddy does
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? working part time
PP Feelings: feeling great! back at my pre preg weight, but need to find time to work out some more! want to get back in shape by the spring
pear / 1616 posts
Love this idea!
LO's name: Evelyn
Age: 4 months today!
Weight: 14lb 2.2oz at her appt today, 51 percentile!
Length: 23 inches, 5th percentile. considering we're tall (for asians) kind of surprising but the dr said she'll start to grow length wise more in the next couple months
Recent milestones: she's rolled from tummy to back a couple times. last weekend she started playing with her hands more and holding toys. she's starting to be able to put toys in her mouth too. and we heard her first laugh last weekend!
Milestone you're most looking forward to: sitting up unassisted
How's feeding going: good! i EP but don't make enough for her so she gets about 3 bottles of breastmilk and 2 bottles of formula a day. she drinks about 5-6 oz 5 times a day. pumping is a drag but i'm going to try to make it to a year. it helped that i dropped a pump session recently so i only pump 4 times a day now.
How's sleep going: her night sleep has been great. she sleeps from 8pm-7:30am. her naps at home are good, she usually does 3 1.5-2hr naps and 1 catnap. when shes at daycare she usually averages about 3-4 hours worth of naps but split up into about 4 naps. she does have a weird witching hour issue that starts every night around 6pm where shes tired but can't catnap easily. so its about 1 hour of crying/fussing every single night before bedtime.
What is your favorite trait about your LO? i love her smile, esp when i get her in the morning or after a nap. and i love how she's a relatively easy going baby where we can go out easily and she doesn't fuss too much
What is something silly that your LO does? her giggles. how she moves her whole body when shes excited about something.
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM T, TH, F and WAHM M,W
PP Feelings: my weight plateaued for the first 3 months, finally this past month my weight has been going down steadily. i'm about 2.5 lbs away from pre preg weight! would love to lose another 5 on top of that but i'd be happy for just the pre preg weight for now. still trying to adjust to work and being a mom. i feel like i'm constantly having to do something. like im rushing to work, or rushing to pick her up from daycare. i'm glad she goes to sleep relatively early at night so i just have an hour or two to just veg before going to sleep. still trying to find a good balance.

I am SO happy to be starting this again! I have been MIA for so long... I was just so overwhelmed and while I've been reading, I stopped contributing to the thread for a long time.
This is wonderful-- I've missed being in touch with other November mommies!

Sooooo.....I finally got a chance to check in and wrote a NOVEL on the old thread before I saw this one! It's so hard to stay up to date now that I'm back at work.
LO's name: Emerson
Age: 4 months (17 wks)
Weight: Not sure! Will find out tomorrow at her 4m appt! I think she's about 15 3/4 lbs?
Length: Again, not sure! She's a tall one though. She was 25" at her 3m appt.
Recent milestones: She's laughing, which I absolutely adore. She also FINALLY can do more than a couple minutes of tummy time without fussing (if that counts as a milestone?).
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Sleeping through the night! And growing out of the spitting up.
How's feeding going: Okay so far...happy I've made it this far EBF. I really wasn't sure how it would go right at first. I'm pumping 2-3 times at work and have been able to meet her needs. I'm shooting for a year now!
How's sleep going: Hmmm...**See milestone I'm most looking forward to above.** Up until this week she was waking up 1x per night, which I can deal with. This week is another story. Naps are all over the place...typically 35 minutes, but occasionally we'll get a surprise 1.5-2 hours. (Unless she's in the carseat; then she's a great napper.) We are still swaddling. I have no idea what I'm in for when we have to give that up.
What is your favorite trait about your LO? I love her gummy little smile and the way she is so amused by some of the things I say to her.
What is something silly that your LO does? Shoves both fists in her mouth at once???
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM
PP Feelings: I love it more than anything but have to admit that I am overwhelmed with trying to balance work, home stuff, and spending time with her. I have absolutely no time for myself.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
LO's name: Ariela
Age: 19 weeks
Weight: 13lb 1oz - she's a little peanut!
Length: Not sure but girlfriend is TALL!
Recent milestones: She's grabbing at anything and everything and it all goes in the mouth. Starting to commando crawl too - last night she lunged at a toy and was airbound for an inch or two, ha ha!
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Getting her harness off.
How's feeding going: EBF and omg it's not easy. She wants to eat, she doesn't. She wants to eat, she doesn't. Rinse and repeat.
How's sleep going: She STTN but is hard to get down. We're working on this. The main thing we did was stop walking/rocking to sleep. We want to avoid CIO if possible but maybe we'll have to do it to get her to fall asleep on her own. Hoping to delay that (if we have to do it) until six months old.
What is your favorite trait about your LO? She's sweet and brave. Top qualities.
What is something silly that your LO does? Gives her daddy goofy smiles when she's meant to be going to sleep. Total partners in crime, they are.
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? Mat leave but probably WAHM or SAHM depending on visa issues.
PP Feelings: I've had a very easy time pp, but have had a lot thrown at me in the form of A's health issues, DH's unemployment, no family support, visa issues.I can say that I absolutely love being a mum, and have had no problem with that pp, but other issues have been hard.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@MamaMoose: Ah it's so cute though, she lurches through the air! So exciting to see them grow but I hear you on the baby proofing, we have a load of that to do!
@lindseykaye: Ha ha, A gets to the other end of her crib too, and her legs are restrained 23 hours a day. No obstacle is too big when they get their curious minds set on them, eh?
persimmon / 1161 posts
W doesn't really scoot in his crib yet, but he likes to turn in circles. Sometimes he turns 90 degrees and sometimes 180. I have also seen him turned on the monitor, but by morning he back to the way I left him.

going to respond to questions hopefully later tonight! @SLR: hows your LO after shots?? we had our appt yesterday too and he's been running a low fever without Tylenol definitely cranky. NOT any sleepier, ha, I wish
honeydew / 7687 posts
LO's name: I don't put it online, sorry!
Age: 4 Months
Weight: 16 lbs3 oz (as of yesterday )
Length: 26 inches
Recent milestones: First time giggling without being naked! Haha.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Can't wait for him to master rolling, I think he'll be way happier sleeping on his tummy
How's feeding going: EBF, pretty easy
How's sleep going: ugh. we had gotten to one wakeup, roughly 7p-7a and it was awesome... then I got sick and my milk dipped and he got sick and it's been a wreck since. The last 4 days it's been 7-12, wake, 1-4, wake and then after 4 we cannot get him back to sleep in his crib he doesn't cry, he just either wakes the second he's in it or sleeps on you... naps are 30 minutes but i've just come to terms with it!
we're going to my familys for 1.5 week over Easter but once we're home, i'm going to evaluate and make some changes if we're still a mess in the sleep department.
What is your favorite trait about your LO? he is a daredevil! he loves "flying" and being stomped/wiggled/thrown around with abandon.
What is something silly that your LO does? blows spit bubbles and raspberries his lips
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? SAHM
PP Feelings: I feel good! We adjusted so DH takes the baby once he gets home and handles bath time so I get at least 45 minutes 100% free of baby before nighttime nursing & putdown. It's been a big relief, much as I love him, to have a guaranteed freedom time.
pomegranate / 3225 posts
Yikes! I'm a little worriedly formerly chunky baby is now a peanut compared to the rest of the Nov babies! She was 12 lbs 9 oz at her 4 month appt... She only gained 11 oz in the past two months!
clementine / 824 posts
@scg00387: She did pretty well. Took a 4 hour nap in her carseat, so at least I got a ton of stuff done! She was tender today when I pulled her pants on/off to change her and cried some. But it seems like she's better now. I noticed she was a little congested on Friday and that definitely seems to have gotten a bit worse, so fingers crossed that she doesn't come down with anything. How's your little guy? Back to 100%, I hope?!
clementine / 824 posts
Update to my weight & length questions (after her 4m appt yesterday). I was way off on the weight. I guessed her at 15.75 lbs, but she was really 14.8 lbs and 26.5" long. She grew 1.5" this past month!
persimmon / 1161 posts
@SLR: it sounds like you also have a tall skinny baby! My little guy was the same length and only a few ounces heavier at his four month appointment. I remember the doctor mentioning a weight to height ratio (like BMI, I guess) percentile and it was really low.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@SLR: his little legs have hot spots too! He's been running a low fever since then and if its still warm tomorrow I'm going to call the doctor. No extra sleepiness here haha he's committed to the 30 minute nap no matter what.
After increasingly short intervals between first put down and first night waking we tried a dream feed last night and got back up to almost 8 hours straight. Tried again tonight and he didn't drink but an ounce and woke up after 6.5.
Anyone else introducing a lovey? LO lovessss blankets so I asked the pedi about an Aden and anais security blanke and she gave the go ahead. We've been working on going down drowsy and onight he even talke to himself and rubbed it on his face and passed out! Yay! It stresses me out even though its so thin, he constantly pulls it up on his face even after I pull it down. Goofy baby.

GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@scg00387: A little bit! My seat goes up to 22 lbs so we still have a little bit of time. I'm going to miss that easy bucket seat, although it is getting harder and harder to lift in and out of the car these days!

I would love to join!
LO's name: Cole and Norah
Age: 4 Months (16 weeks...born 11/30)
Weight: Cole is about 13 pounds, Norah is 11.5 based on our bathroom scale...we'll know officially after their 4m checkup next Monday
Length: about 23-24" for both of them
Recent milestones: Cole is rolling over tummy to back and beginning to babble with more and more consonants; Norah is already attempting to roll back to tummy. Both have found their feet!
Milestone you're most looking forward to: I know it's months away, but I can't wait until they can sit unassisted. I feel like it will make them (and me) feel so much better!
How's feeding going: They are exclusively formula fed. It's going well...Cole eats about 4 1/2oz per session, and Norah is at 4-4 1/2, on average.
How's sleep going: They MOSTLY STTN, 7p-6a with the help of a dream feed at 10pm. Unfortunately, they do still stir/cry in their sleep around 4:30-5 for a quick paci. Naps are MUCH improved ever since I did a modified/"No Cry" method for nap training two weeks ago. That said, they still nap 4-5 times a day, and only for about 40 minutes each time. Meh. At least they go down in their cribs without a fuss and have synced-up their nap schedules...I'll take what I can get!
What is your favorite trait about your LO? Cole: he is such a flirt and smiles constantly; Norah: she loves to have long "chats" and has the most deadpan expressions while she's talking and listening!
What is something silly that your LO does? Cole tries to put his entire fist in his mouth and then sucks so loudly that you can hear it from 3 rooms away. Norah has a total "poop face"...there is never any doubt when she's about to let 'er rip!
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? SAHM, but I work part-time in the evenings as a tutor after DH gets home from work
PP Feelings: I feel good! I was doing really well with weight loss for awhile there, but now I've kind of dropped off the wagon with regard to working out. My weight has plateaued BIG TIME, so I need to get moving. My PPD/anxiety is still there occasionally, but I'm doing better with it. We also hired a mother's helper to come 4 hours per week, and that has truly saved my sanity.
persimmon / 1161 posts
@scg00387: I have one, but it is sitting in a box in the garage. We got the Britax Pavillion (have a Britax Chaperone infant seat). We were going to install it in my mother's car because she watches him while we are working, but we haven't done it yet. I bought it a couple months ago because there was an extra discount on amazon and it ended up being around $200, rather than $300+. We may need to purchase 1-2 more car seats, but haven't decided yet. Our infant seat has a pretty high weight limit (30-35lbs?), but I think height will me more of an issue. Also, as he is now over 16 pounds it is soooo heavy to carry him in it)
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
I'm so so jealous of everyone's sleepy babies. My daughter consistently slept 9pm-7am straight through for WEEKS and now her sleep has gone to hell in a hand basket. Last night she slept 9-12 and then I swear to God the child was up every 45 minutes. She wants to be in physical contact with me (and only me, not her daddy) at all times. I usually just give in and let her sleep with me around 4:30 because I need to get SOME sleep in order to function at work. We tried CIO for like 19 minutes once before my husband freaked out and rescued her. Planning to talk to the ped at her appointment on Friday to try to get some help to get her back on track. She's not napping great a day care either and the child needs to sleep!!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@scg00387: Definitely going to ask the ped about a lovey at her appointment this week. I'll try anything to get some more sleep at night!! No convertable car seat any time soon for us. LO is probably only between 14 and 15 lbs and our bucketseat goes up to 30.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@scg00387: we are in the market! saw ur post and am browsing amazon now... i have a $100 amazon giftcard coming and a $150 giftcard from my gfs who specifically wanted to gift us a conv car seat so I think we're going to bite the bullet and buy two britax's in the coming weeks.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@twoofeverything: welcome!@highwire: @NovBaby1112: @ChelseaRose glad i'm not the only one! i just pulled the trigger on a britax boulevard (in zebra!) @mrsjyw britaxs are the cheapest theyve been in a while on amazon today! camelcamelcamel.com will tell you price history
@MamaMoose ahhh that sucks we've never had STTN but were doing 7-3 ish 3-7ish which was awesome.. then we got sick and things went wayy south and he only wanted to sleep on us past 4 AM. Ugh. I don't know if it is the lovey but his sleep has gotten better the last two nights and days, and last night he muttered to himself while rubbing the blanket on his face and stuck it out with only one wakeup until 7 am! Hope you get some more sleep soon!
