@lilteacherbee: The chair looks so comfy! That is so neat that you get to rock your baby in a chair with such sentimental value.
@NeekieRose: Do not even worry about the recovery. I asked them when I could snowboard, and they gave me a couple of different answers, but mostly "when you feel up to it" which was probably less than a month. I think I was doing yoga again within a day or two of coming home. I was back at work in less than 6 weeks (not ideal) and never felt like I was pushing myself physically. Plus I had less bleeding afterward. I think most of the poorer experiences with c sections are unfortunately from women who labored and pushed and are already exhausted when they end up having to have a c section.

@lilteacherbee: Well done, woman! I love the minky!
@Ash: YES! Can't wait to see the nursery! You totally reminded me that I never posted pics of mine! They're pretty crappy quality, but you get the idea!

@NeekieRose: OMG, I SO hear you on being just done with work. I'm at the point where I really don't have much of anything to do...so I just...sit. You're SO freaking close!!!

@ms.janedoe: the nursery looks great! I think we have a similar crib... the Hudson? Ours is grey & white. I just love it.

@ms.janedoe: I LOVE your nursery! We have many of the same elements/ideas. Ours is almost finished and then I will post some pics

Thanks, everyone! I'm really happy with how it came together! Now I just hope it's functional enough once babygirl gets here!
@Ash: A note of caution--make sure you hang it high enough. Ours is like, maybe 2 inches too low (and I can't seem to convince DH to take it down to redo it!) so you have to either detour around it or duck under it! Worst case your head just ruffles the bottom a little! Oh well, it looks cool!
@sarah.clarisse: Yep! I got it off of NBD for like, $150--it was supposed to be the dark wood and white, but they sent us this one instead. Oh well, I love it!

@ms.janedoe: It does look cool! Did you get the larger one or the smaller one? Larger, I assume!!

@ms.janedoe: your diaper caddy on the wall is genius, by the way. We have one in our kitchen (IKEA, right?) but it never occurred to me to put it near the changing table for wipes, cream, etc. Seriously stealing this idea!
pomegranate / 3160 posts
@Ash: Honestly, I think it IS the smaller one...the bigger one was like, 80 bucks or something and I know we only paid about 50ish for it.
@LovelyPlum: Yep! We actually had it lying around--I bought it thinking I'd use it in the entry for something (some dumb idea I had) and never did, and then when I realized I had like, zero room for anything in the nursery, figured I'd stick it in there! Right now I just have cloth wipes shoved in it, but I'm sure once baby comes I'll figure out a "system" that works best--I wish I had planned better so I could have fit/put another one in!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@ms.janedoe: seriously, those are the best things ever. I have mine across a window in the kitchen to hold spices, but they are going to be a lifesaver in the nursery, I can feel it. We only have space for a tiny changing table/dresser, so I am thinking of maybe doing two bars right above each other, one with the big tub for wipes, and maybe one above it with the silverware caddies for cream, etc? The diapers will be in the top dresser drawer, but this can take care of the other little things that need to be there. Like you said, I'm pretty sure that the system will work itself out once baby comes. But seriously, THANKS! I totally, totally love this idea.

@ms.janedoe: What a beautiful nursery!
I had an appointment today -- the doc said baby has dropped and is deeply in the pelvis. He wants to do a stretch and sweep a week from now (yikes!). Said that he thinks we may not make it to the due date. So now my husband is panicking, hah!

@ms.janedoe: Lovely! I love the light!
@NeekieRose: My mom really really wanted my midwife to put my on restrictions from work aka tell me I can no longer work. I'm already working very minimally from my foot, but I have to stand my entire shift without the option to sit and with how I have been feeling lately she just didn't think. I should work. Anyway she thought if my cousin who is having some minor back pain (she is due with a girl too! EDD November 20...2 days before me!) got put on STD, then I surely would. No such luck from my doctors office lol. Enjoy your last few days of work!!

@ms.janedoe: Thanks! I have a friend going this weekend. It will be perfect in our nursery!

@anbanan15: I don't know how you ladies do it with the jobs that require you to be on your feet all day. I have luckily been blessed with a pretty easy pregnancy (you know minus the whole breech thing), and still feel really good for the most part. But the one thing that is guaranteed to cause problems is when I have been on my feet all day long (usually on weekends) then I start to get back/tailbone pain.

@MrsDragon: Sounds like you might be a November turned October mommy too! Exciting!

Diapers are a-washin, chair is delivered (and our new couch which I am in love with) and all I want is to nap! But I have to work at 3am so I'm afraid if I nap, I won't sleep. My motivation is lacking right now...

@sweetooth: I'll take pictures when the nursery isn't a disaster lol! It's all over the place! I can post random, unfinished nursery pics that just show the glider, dresser (sans knobs) and crib - hahaha! But that's all I have!
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
I'm kinda hoping that we'll start prepping for her to come early and then she'll be late just to show us, hah! My preference is still for a November baby. I guess any time after the 28th is cool with me because that's when our car seat arrives.
I don't really FEEL like I'm about to go into labour or anything, aside from the cramping I've had, but I dunno how far intuition will take me on this one. I just think that now that I've told a bunch of people she might come early, that she'll come super late. But then I think that because I *want* her to come late, she'll come early. So basically... I have no idea! Hah!

wow, this thread is nonstop!!
thanks everyone for responding about the upper abdominal pain - made me feel reassured. it totally must be the muscles stretching, because after 1.5 weeks, it is finally improving. agreed that it feels like bruising...
@ms.janedoe: i love your nursery! it is so complete too... mine is still a work in progress. (our dryer breaking this weekend hasn't helped)
@MrsDragon: ahh! how exciting!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
I know it's so much better for baby to hang out a little while longer, but I seriously wish I would go into labor or they take her now. I cannot take this anymore! Going to the store by myself for 1 thing had me nearly passing out. I'm sitting here doing nothing and I am so nauseous that I know if I move I am going to be sick. I can't go to the bathroom without being sick and I am just done. I feel so non-functioning. Okay vent over!
ETA: my midwife still didn't call with my lab results, so I'm assuming everything is fine. I should be able to view them myself on Friday regardless if they call or not.

@ms.janedoe: So pretty!
I've been a lazy pregnant lady the last couple days, by evening I just have lots of cramping so sit around. Well of course last night we find fleas. Luckily I'm not working now so I can just clean, clean, clean all day today. But seriously, 2 weeks before my due date I don't need fleas, I've never had them in the house before, it's some kind of joke for posting on here that I felt ready.

Baby is full term today. HOW NUTS IS THAT?!
Also, I am GBBS negative. Appointment went well yesterday--opted not to have her check dilation etc. We'll do that next week, maybe.
pomegranate / 3160 posts
@Mrs. J: Congrats on full term!!! So nuts!!! Are you due the 7th? I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, so I'm guessing...yes. I can't seem to form a coherent thought lately, so apologies! Also, awesome news that you're negative!
@Maysprout: Boo for fleas.
@MrsDragon: I totally hear you--I just wish I could get SOME sort of idea...like, do I still have a solid 4 weeks to go? OK, great, I'll relax and get a few things done. Will I end up going into labor tonight? Awesome, I'll let go of some of the things I wanted to check off my list... There's just such a huge window and I don't know what to think! Part of me has this feeling that I'll go "early," but I don't know how early... The other part of me thinks that just for even entertaining the thought, I'll go 41 weeks. Hahahah. Who knows.
I AM almost 100% that baby has dropped...here's an awful picture from this morning compared to Monday...

Lab results are in and everything is normal. Guess I'm just a wimpy pregnant lady these days or my vitamin d dropped mad low, which wasn't checked but had dropped the other months, so...
@Mrs. J: yay! Any day now is good to go!
@ms.janedoe: I see it! I also feel like I dropped too, even though baby isn't in position lol.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@ms.janedoe: definitely dropped!
Everyone at work told me that today too... but all this little baby did was go from head down to transverse so I guess baby did drop lol!
