    @Ash: definitely there on the movement front...I was getting a little worried, but last night in response to the contractions, LO was moving up a storm...probably because it was getting so tight in there!

  2. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

    @Mrs. J: definitely tight! It kind of makes me laugh a little with how tight it must be. I just get worried cuz my midwife always says "movement should stay the same".

    @Ash: mine told me if I get worried to drink some cold juice or water and lie down for an hour. I should get ten movements of any kind...rolling, squirming, kicking, etc....in an hour. If not, then I should call.

  4. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

    @Mrs. J: that's what I do! I think it's because the movements aren't as obvious anymore. Especially when I'm on my feet all day. Once I sit down to drive home, baby wakes up and goes to town.

    I have my phone interview with the hospital today so my admission is done when I go into labor. Yikes!

    Thanks, everyone! Like I said, were in love!! She's been so good so far, she sleeps great...mostly during the day and first part of the night, but she's always wide-eyed and ready to party from about 1-5! Right now I'm pumping every 3 hours and were feeding her whatever I pump ,about a half ounce give or take an eighth or so) and supplementing the rest (1.5-2ish) with formula. I really don't know if my milk has come in, not sure when/if that happens (day 5 as of 11:55am today!!). She poops...constantly, and my struggle so far is changing diapers. Since she was breech, her legs lock up right at her hips do it's impossible to get the sides secured.

    We haven't started cloth yet...to be honest I'm just too lazy. I can't fathom the idea if more laundry. My recovery had homesy been a breeze so far. I was up ASAP in the hospital, and am pretty much doing what I normally would (aside from quick movements/lifting/bending a lot). There's some minor pain at the incision, but nothing unmanageable by any means.

    We go in tomorrow at 11 for our 1 week appointment (a day early, but still so crazy!!) and also a lactation consultant appt as well. I'm a little nervous to see what ends up happening and where we go from there...

    SO excited for everyone, it sounds like you're all so close to baby time!!! Gah!! Cannot wait to meet more babies!

    @ms.janedoe: 1 week already! Hope all goes well at your appointment tomorrow. I could see how changing diapers with little feet and hips in the way would be tricky. I'm sure you'll be a pro at it in no time. Thanks for the little glimpse of what's to come!

    @ms.janedoe: Aww I love reading your updates!!! She's so precious How is your c-section recovery going?

    @Mrs. J: How did your appointment go?!

    I just had my pre-op appointment! Ahhhh it's getting real- less than 3 days!!

    So I had my NST + OB appointment today. It was crazy, we were there for 4 hours. Turns out my midwife was trying to find an excuse to keep me, so they did blood work and had me go for an biophysical profile (ultrasound) and took my BP about a million times. Turns out she had no excuse to keep me there :(. BP was under control, protein was still high but a little lower than it had been, and baby was perfect.

    *But* she let me move up the induction by a couple days to 11/17. She said the hospital wouldn't let her induce me any sooner than 39 weeks without a medical indication. I was so disappointed at first. Not that I wanted something to be wrong with the baby, but I was like "OMG we were so close!"

    But now I'm kind of happy about it. This means DH gets to work a few more days before going on leave, and my parents are going to come out on Sunday. The original plan was kind of up in the air as to when they were going to come here, we weren't sure if we'd call them once we headed to the hospital (if I went into labor) or what. But this way I can go over anything they need to know about the house or the dog before we leave. They've been here before, but not with the express purpose of cooking for us and taking care of our dog.

    I keep telling myself I can get through one more week. I have been having a ton of contractions though, so it's possible I could go on my own before then. But I'm only about 1cm dilated and between -1 and -2 station.

    @lilteacherbee: So excited for you!

    @ShootingStar: Wow - long day for you! 11/17 will be here before you know it. Are you still on bedrest until then? The planning of getting your parents here by Sunday and everything all set sounds like a definite perk! You can get through 1 more week, I know you can!

    Absolutely nothing going on here. Saw my regular OB today for the first time this pregnancy (besides when I was in triage) and he said I could be here for another 3 weeks (well until 41 weeks since they don't like you to go past that there). I'm measuring a week small which he was surprised given my overall weight gain (yea I gained a ton...way more than I think I look). Baby is face up, still extremely high and possibly in an awkward position. He said HR sounded faster than the Doppler was picking up and was very strong.

    @sweetooth: 14th

    @ms.janedoe: 5 days and a 1 weeks pedi appointment already?! Time flies for sure!!

    Hey ladies! Baby boy was born yesterday at 12:06 p.m. I had a frighteningly fast three-hour labor. I wasn't able to have a water birth because of meconium, but I was still able to do it without pain meds. It was scary but wonderful, and no complications (I miraculously didn't even tear)! We are so in love with him. Right now my husband is in the hospital bed next to me holding the baby, and I MISS HIM! Would love to share more later! Hugs to all of you!

    @lilteacherbee: was there forever, but ultrasound looks great and NST too. Had a few contractions, but nothing painful. Still 1.5cm dilated and -3 station. *sigh*

    @anbanan15: I'm thinking I need to ask at my next appointment how long they would let me go past my due date. I have no clue. I hope you have something fun planned for Thursday. Maybe a pedicure for you?

    @Mrs. J: You're off work now, right? Glad things looked good today. I hope you progress quickly this week and meet your little one soon!

    @Mrs. J: Umm no lol. Did they say when they would induce? You may want the extra days to rest up (especially if you are stressing about when baby is going to come like I did) and I wouldn't want my water to break in front of my class lol

  28. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

    @Mrs. J: Since it can happen any day now for you, I wouldn't be going back! Goodness, I'm not going back after tomorrow and I'm only 38w2d (today).

    @anbanan15: Little Nathan will be your birthday buddy

    @DigAPony: Oh my gosh, congrats lady!!! So glad everything went smoothly!!

    @Mrs. J: Haha, obviously my answer would be no! I'm only 39 weeks and the thought of going back to my classroom makes me wanna cry. Knowing that I'm DONE is an amazing feeling!!

    Sooo I've decided that I'm going to count down the hours now. I count down to everything (hello, 43 days until Christmas!) and I've been like this since I can remember. Plus, since I found out I was pregnant ridiculously early, it feels like its been for.ev.er. So.... less than 63 hours to go!!! haha I'm insane

    @lilteacherbee: That is right!!! I knew there was someone with a c-section that day and couldn't remember for sure who (thought it was you, but wasn't sure). I can't wait to meet my birthday buddy!! Only a few more days (haha hours!)! How are you doing?!

    @ms.janedoe: Sooooo cute!!
    @ShootingStar: I'm glad the end is in sight for you! Having a plan must feel really relieving.
    @anbanan15: Hopefully baby starts getting into place! I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm expecting it to be one of those 'absolutely nothing happening' ones, too.
    @DigAPony: Wow! Congratulations!

    I am so ready to have baby, any time now. Every day I come up with some reason for her to come out -- tomorrow would be a fun birthday, baby, so come on! I'm also ready to punch my husband soooo I think I'm a little irritable. Been having a few more cramps over the last two days but nothing contraction-y or measurable at all, no plug, nothing.

    @Mrs. J: I think I'd officially say that I'm not coming back until after the baby. At this point, I'd put my feet up and relax, if I were you

    @lilteacherbee: I love that you're counting down the hours

    @MrsDragon: Hoping for some exciting news for you tomorrow!

    Thanks, all! I decided I am done with work, so I called my principal and department chair. Talked to my sub...I hope it all goes smoothly!!

    @MrsDragon: Everyone wants my baby born on 11/12/13 haha especially my MIL. It's also FIL's bday tomorrow.

    @Mrs. J: DH pointed out when we were first pregnant that baby could be born on 11/12/13 - one of the reasons we were happy the c section came together for tomorrow. If you have to pick a birthday, might as well pick a fun one

    See you all on the other side - next time I post, I'll be a mom of 2! Eeeek!

    @lilteacherbee: @shellio: good luck, ladies!!! Can't wait to hear updates!!!

    Dudes, how the hell am I supposed to sleep when baby sleeps? Baby sleeps just fine, but I just stare at her and look to see her every time she grunts/squeaks/moves/etc...all of which happen...constantly. Haaahha, help! Total first time mom paranoia much?

    Seriously cannot wait to see some of the new additions to our group, and soon!!!

    @ms.janedoe: I am going to be of no help here, but just wanted to day I still do that 30 mo later from having my first!

    Also, just to toss this out there, I used to be the type of person where if I didn't get a full nights sleep I would feel very nauseous the next day. I wasn't sure how I would able to pull multiple weakening a with DS because I thought for sure I would always feel so sick...well my body adjusted and I can go on no sleep now (not recmended, but it happens) and feel fine. It's amazing what our bodies can do and how they adjust to meet our needs.
