    @shellio: good luck!!!!

My Mom kept trying to convince me to go back to work this week and I was like, says the woman who never made it to her due date, much less 5 days late!
    @ms.janedoe: I'm sure I'll be the same!

@ms.janedoe: Everyone has asked me what I have been doing since I said I haven't been napping when the baby naps. My response: "staring at her"....and it's the truth! I spend so much time just staring at her!

@ms.janedoe: I ended up getting someone to hold LO while I fell asleep. My sister came one day or I just told my husband to hold her. I was better about getting back to sleep quicker once I was asleep. Good luck! Oh and it sounds like your milk maybe hasn't come in yet, your boobs get big and hard and porn star like for a day or two.

You guys, my water broke last night at 11:30. It was the craziest moment. I've been in the hospital since midnight and it looks like I'll be having an 11.12.13 baby. I'm trying to focus on that nifty date instead of stressing about the unfinished renovation, the not set up nursery or lack of a prepared hospital bag. I thought they would tell me I just peed my pants. I had no idea this would happen like this. It's crazy how unpredictable this process is.

@sweetooth: oh my gosh!!!!! Good luck!! That's two 11-12-13 babies for us! Eeeek!! This week looks like its going to bring a lot of November babies!

I just keep hoping something is going to happen over here! I feel like I am going to be the last woman standing

@sweetooth: OMG, amazing! Don't worry about the house or the nursery, it'll all get worked out.

@sweetooth: ahh, congrats and good luck with delivery! i'm jealous of the 11/12/13 date. i'm due today - but just had a check and 0 dilation. induction likely being set for 11/21, but hopefully i'll go naturally before then

@sweetooth: ahhhh, good luck! Such an awesome birthday.

I'm just hanging out - feeling a bit of cramps but still nothing major. My doctors appointment is in an hour but I don't have any expectations of anything.

@sweetooth: yay! Such an awesome birthday! Hope things are going well!

@Mrs. J: You won't be alone...if I don't choose to induce at 40w and we get delayed at 41w I very well could have a December baby (hmm might be worth it for the better birthstone? Kidding..).

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@anbanan15: haha November is a quite unattractive birthstone! I wouldn't blame you

My doctor had to run to the hospital right before my appointment so he only saw me for about a minute -- just to check baby's position and heartbeat. So we have another ultrasound tomorrow AM and hopefully a longer appointment, & he said we'll be coming up with some plans. I briefly mentioned them changing my due date and he said they were sticking with the 9th, so at least that part is settled.

@sweetooth: did you have any indication (contractions, cramps) before your water broke?

  16. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@Mrs. J: yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that. I've had (almost!) 28 years of hating it already Our poor children!

@MrsDragon: Bummer! That has happened 3 times to me this pregnancy where my midwife was on delivery and my appointment got changed. Such a bummer but even worse at this point in the game when you want some sort of action plan! Hopefully you find out something tomorrow and baby is not too far off!

Oh, I totally forgot--at our appt yday, the tech doing the NST asked if we were having a boy, and I said ,"no, we don't know yet!!" and she says under her breath, "well, I just gave it away then..." DH tells me that she has no idea, but why would she say that!? I have made it this long without finding out; I really want to wait until the baby arrives to know!

  19. mrsmacandcheese

@Mrs. J: She's still head down and low, nothing new from weeks past. I know last week the doctor tried wiggling her head and she could still move a bit so I don't think she's firmly engaged but she's in the right place... but she's been like that since at least 35/36 weeks. Still haven't had any internal checks.

@anbanan15: It was almost funny because my dad took me to the clinic and was SO confused when I came back out so quickly after leaving the waiting room. He was like, "YOU have to go to the hospital?! Huh?"

I hope there isn't a big long wait tomorrow, and I really hope we get the nice ultrasound tech we usually have, not the one from last time. Especially because I think one of her friends is my Facebook friend and probably saw my mini-rant about her changing my due date on me last week, hah.

@Mrs. J: Wow, what a crappy thing for them to say. I've only ever had people ask if we know the sex yet, in a very neutral way (although we did find out). Her guess is likely based on the heart rate, which isn't an accurate measure.

  21. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@MrsDragon: You're probably having contractions and you don't even know it! I had been feeling the same way, and when I saw the line on the NST I realized what I was feeling were actually contractions. And the way mine were working is that it never really went down to 0 - which explained the constant crampy feeling with occasionally bouts of super crampiness. It makes it hard to distinguish the beginning and end of contractions. I can only discern the stronger ones at this point, and only feel the middles of them I think. I can't really time them because it takes me a little bit to figure out if I'm really having one, and then it's over soon after.

@ShootingStar: Interesting! I've definitely felt more of SOMETHING in the last few days -- I have the lower back pain and sort of a pressurey feeling? I've attributed a lot of it to gas or indigestion or just being plain ol' uncomfortable, but my doctor did tell me awhile back that the cramping is probably BH.

I haven't had any of the more painful cramping sessions in awhile, but I'm hoping it means my body might do its thing on its own, no induction needed.

@Mrs. J: What a weird thing for the tech to say! I wouldn't put much stock in it, though, if it was more of a guess than anything.

@Mrs. J: Ugh I hate when they make gender remakes, even if you know the sex! Prehaps an u/s report was in your chart and she read it? Even if you asked not to know gender it would have been marked. That's the only thing I can think of. If she was going off HR your DH is right and she has no clue. DS had a heart rate in the girly range my entire pregnancy and he was/is definitely a boy

  24. Mrs. J

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@anbanan15: and my sister was the opposite! They thought she was a boy based on the heart rate

My goodness, you guys!! I went to work for a few hours and I'm over a page behind! And there's babies being born!

@shellio: Hope everything went well today!!

@sweetooth: Oh my GOSH!! I'm so excited for you!! Hope you're cuddling your pumpkin by now!!!

@Mrs. J: I don't think the tech ruined anything because there shouldn't be anything in your chart that says if you're having a boy or a girl. Our u/s tech and midwife both told me they have no reason to know the sex if we don't know so it's not anywhere in my chart. I'd say she was just guessing my hr which means nothing.

@ShootingStar: the line most likely never went down to zero because it wasn't zeroed out... which is pretty common.

I worked my last day today. Yahooooooooooooooooo!

  26. Mrs. J

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@Ash: @anbanan15: I hope you're right...although she said this as she was hooking me up to the machine!
@Ash: yay!! I am done with work too!

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@Mrs. J: Grrrrr another team green spoiler person! Maybe by looking at your belly? I just highly doubt it'd be in your chart. Either way, it's still a surprise!

  28. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@Ash: It's in my chart and on my online chart with my medical reports that I can look up myself. I guess each office system is different so hopefully @Mrs. J: is like yours and she was just guessing of HR/belly shape!

  29. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@anbanan15: but you found out. Maybe that's why? I don't see why anyone would say that out loud when people don't always find out. I think she's having a boy though too

  30. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@Ash: shhh I think boy too. Maybe? We found out with DS too and it was always noted sooo...I just know they always say "do you know what your having yet?" And then I say "yea, a girl, unless it changed" to which they always reply "oh we can't say"...really?! So what was the point of asking if I knew? I find those comments really annoying regardless.

  31. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@anbanan15: lol! That would be very annoying. The first time we saw one of the midwives, she asked if we knew what we were having as she was measuring my belly. And when I worked on the floor at that hospital, it was never in their charts whether they found out or not. So who knows. I wonder why people make a big deal out of it - so annoying!

  32. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@Ash: I don't know! It's funny though...We were just talking about charts at my OB yesterday because the u/s I had done in triage at 33w is missing from my chart and it should be there (he thinks it was miss filed...I wanted to know what baby measure compared to 30w).

Hi all! I'm way behind because Baby M decided she was ready to meet us almost two weeks early! Harper Elizabeth was born last night at 10:01 PM after 25 hours of labor. She was 6 pounds 11 ounces and 19.5 inches. We are both doing well!

@ms.janedoe: I can't believe we chose the same name! When you announced the other day I thought to myself, what are the odds?! Great minds think alike

Congratulations to you and your hubby! Welcome to the world, Harper!

@anbanan15: argh! My word of the day is: annoying and that, too, is annoying! I'd love to know how big they'd guess this little one to be.

All these babies who were due on or after me are making me nervous here!

So um, how do I know if I'm really in labor? I've been having contractions all night. They're more spaced out than they have been, but no pattern yet. I'm really hoping my water breaks so I get a clue.
