@Mrs. J: How long will they allow you to go? Do you have an induction scheduled if Baby J doesn't come soon?

@Mrs. J: I was wondering if anything has happened yet.
So, a while back my sil gave me her 'used for a few days' pump but I didn't pay attention to what it was. Well, while cleaning today I opened it up.... It's a medela pisa! Now I don't have to worry about what pump my insurance covers cuz this is the one I wanted anyways. Yay!

Aaaaahhhh! More babies! CONGRATS to @sweetooth: @lilteacherbee!!!!!
@shootingstar: Hope things have progressed by now! Dance parties are good!
@Mrs. J: SOON! If you count sometime within the next week to be soon, of course. Unless you are ok with going past 42 weeks, baha.
@Ash: Awesome about the pump!

@Mrs. J: I was also wondering if you had an induction date scheduled...maybe baby J just needs a deadline? My friend went into labor with both her children right after an induction date was scheduled! I like to think it scared them out of her Hang in there!! Soon soon mama

@Mrs. J: I'm 5 days overdue today (if you go by my first due date -- I'm due TODAY according to the ultrasound tech, haha) and wondering the same thing. It's so hard to be patient!
@Ash: I have my sister's used-once Pump in Style! I have to get all the replacement stuff for it -- it's literally just the pump mechanism. But such a good deal to get it for free!
I'm so freaking bored. It's been almost three weeks of mat leave, nearly two weeks of houseguests -- I've cleaned all there is to clean, we have two freezers full of food, the nursery is as good as it gets 'till Mr. D finishes making shelves and storage boxes.
My dad is watching me like a pot of water waiting to boil, while simultaneously trying extra-hard to do everything for me ("Do you want a snack? Drink? Warm enough? Don't walk on the snow by yourself.").
I appreciate the help but I am so looking forward to getting the house back to ourselves. My mom is still planning a return trip once baby arrives and my dad is talking about doing the same if she doesn't show up before he leaves Tuesday, which basically equals a full month of guests. I'm craving quiet and space SO much and I don't like feeling resentful this close to baby coming.

@Ash: Love my PISA but wish I would have gotten a freestyle. According to the rep I spoke with with my insurance company I can get whatever pump I want as long as I have an Rx and it comes from an in-network DME, so I'm trying to hunt one down that will get a freestyle for me

@MrsDragon: Oh my goodness. I'm sure your parents just mean well but I wouldn't be able to handle that at all! I'm already dreading the visitors that WON'T be staying with me...
And I agree with the free part!!
@anbanan15: Well here's the thing... I called my insurance company and the guy told me I can get any pump I want as long as I have the rx (which I knew) but then I started reading some stuff on HB and decided to dig a little deeper and I came across some breast pump info that said only a manual is completely 100% covered and any of the others will require money oop. So I decided if I have one already why get another that is going to cost us money. Ya know? I don't think breast pumps were the specialty of the guy I spoke to lol!

@Ash: Yeah, every time he visits I start to get squirrely because I basically lose all of my independence -- he packs lunches, makes every meal, that kind of thing. I can usually deal with it better but I have NOTHING to do and he's trying to do everything which leaves me sitting on the couch bored and cranky.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsDragon: My dad would be the opposite! He'd expect me to take care of him... which is why I'm dreading his 2 day visit after baby arrives. Take it all in right now... you'll be wanting to just lay around soon enough.

I think I just lost my mucus plug :D. Contractions have been pretty quiet today, I'm hoping things maybe ramp up in the next day or two. But if not, still doing the induction on Sunday.

@Ash: I'm thinking it will be much more helpful once baby comes! I'm just really feeling cabin fever-y and frustrated, I guess. I'm very much an introvert and I really crave independence.
@ShootingStar: I hope things happen for you soon!

@Ash: our insurance initially told us they would cover $125 twice a year towards a pump from a DME with an RX, but then they ended up covering all of a Medela PISA, which the place delivered to me on Monday.

He's here!! Nathan Dean was born at 10:21am weighing 8lb 13oz and 20 in long!
I had a panic attack after the spinal because I was freaking out about not feeling my legs. When it took full effect, I calmed down. I was really nervous, but the nurses and anesthesiologist were awesome! When DH came in, he helped me calm down and not worry. It felt like it took forever for them to get him out. Then, it took 5 minutes after they opened up my uterus for him to be born because he was so stuck in there. My OB said that he's pretty sure it would've ended in a c-section anyway because of the way he was positioned and his size.
I'm so in love and so, so tired. I only slept 3 hours last night and the meds they gave me have made me so drowsy. It's absolutely amazing to watch DH with his son though. Makes me so happy! He's also doing amazing breastfeeding, which im so thankful for!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Now for some pics...

@Ash: oh that is so annoying. I'm nervous something like that will happe to me. I specifically asked if I could get any electric and the the brand/style I wanted and he said yes, but they also told us on multiple occasions that a breastpump rental would be covered with DS and then it wasn't because there was no "separation on infant" which they failed to mention. When I called this pregnancy the gentleman said hospital grade pump rentals was different and I had DS right before all the pump insurance changes so....
@lilteacherbee: yay!! Congrats! Happy Birthday buddy!

@lilteacherbee: Ahhhhhh he's precious! So happy for you and your dh!
@anbanan15: I just feel like "being covered" doesn't necessarily mean 100%. Is today your birthday?
Had my 39 week appt. Turned down a cervical check. Got groceries afterwards and I've been having low back pain and lots of what I think are just bh... which is making me a tad bit nervous. I'm assuming I'm fine at this point though.

@anbanan15: Oooooo, happy birthday! Hope you've enjoyed the day and took some time out for yourself!
I'm relaxing on the couch right now. Not as uncomfortable as I was. If things progress, at least we'll have groceries! Lol! I think it was a fluke though.

@anbanan15: maybe it was excited cuz of the Chinese food I had before the shopping!

@anbanan15: yes! and to top it off I had some apple cider from sbux. Nom nom!
