Nothing over here is too exciting at the moment. I'm going for twice weekly non-stress tests with once weekly fluid measurements. This Monday my max vertical pocket was only 2.7cm with an AFI of 7. They don't get scared until the max vertical is less than 2cm and AFI gets to 5 but it still puts my fluid at less than the 2.5th percentile based on gestational age. I'm just hoping baby girl can stay inside (and healthy) for the next few weeks to avoid a NICU stay.
On the fun side the nursery is almost done. We just need to figure out what needs to be hung where and get her name on the wall (which we can't do until we pick one).
Does anyone else still need to choose a name???

@Hoots: I am getting the leg cramps too. Awful! My doc suggested bananas but I HATE them so she said to try Gatorade instead. I don't love Gatorade (reminds me too much of the glucose drink from the gestational diabetes test) but it does seem to be helping.

@Finfan: I'll have to add the gatorade! Thanks! My doctor just told me to increase potassium and calcium intake, which I've been trying to do. So far, it's helped a bit, but not as much I wish it would!

@littleredhairedgrl: Omg so soon!! I'm excited for you!
@Hoots: charlie horses are awful! I find that if I wear my compression stockings, don't sit too much and drink enough water, I don't get them. Hope you get some rest soon!
@clover: did you add pics to the nursery board?! I'd love to see your progress. And I'll keep my fingers crossed for your cervix haha

yuck to the leg cramps - my OB suggested Magnesium supplements (both this pregnancy and the last) and I have been taking them twice a day for the last 2 weeks. They're supposed to help with migraines as well, and so far so good. I do still get mild calf cramps in the night but if I stretch my toes up immediately the cramp doesn't develop.

@Miss Sarah: Insomniaaaaaaa!!!! Like the swelling, I thought I was going to avoid this. Nope! Both just started late for me. It's 3:45 and I am wide awake!! WTH!

@peaches1038: I was planning on taking pictures after hanging the wall decor, I'll post some as soon as I do!
@Hoots: I second the Magnesium supplement advice, my OB for my first pregnancy told me to take them and they worked like magic. So far so good as far as leg cramps this pregnancy thankfully.

I'm so done being pregnant, you guys! I want to be able to sit on the floor, turn over in bed, breathe normally... 6 more weeks until I never have to be pregnant again!!! (Two and through!) Anyone else feeling like this?
I had a little excitement yesterday. I passed out at work and took my first ambulance ride to the ER. Everything was fine and I wasn't having contractions. The ER doctor said it's fairly common for women to have vagal episodes in pregnancy, particularly in later pregnancy. But seriously, standing around for 5 minutes is enough to make me pass out cold?? Pregnancy is crazy.

@clover: we still need to choose two names! We're not even close. Are you?
persimmon / 1461 posts
@sometimesshesings: whoah! glad to hear you're ok, I had some fainting spells with my first pregnancy right near the end - though it was because I was silly enough to have a hot shower for a little too long.
@clover: hoping your babe stays right where she should be til she's due!
I told hubby the name I've decided on a few weeks ago... I was hoping to string it out for as long as possible and watch him squirm thinking that the baby wouldn't have a name when she's born!

@sometimesshesings: That's so scary, glad to hear you're alright!!

@sometimesshesings: I didn't realize fainting could be an issue in late pregnancy! Glad you are ok.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and actually feeling alright. My baby dropped on Friday night and it freaked me out - I was so used to feeling him up near my ribs and then all of a sudden after an afternoon of lots of kicking and squirming he was down by my belly button. I didn't realize just how hard it was getting to breathe until I could suddenly take a deep satisfying breath again! The change in position came with some ligament pain, pelvic pain, and a very uncomfortable night but I guess I'm adjusted for now.
Hopefully baby stays put for a while and he's just early to prepare... Eek!
This is a weird question but have any of you noticed pops or clicks coming from the baby when it's moving around in your belly? I notice them almost every day, now. At first I thought it was my spine or ligaments but it's definitely coming from the baby. So strange!

@peaches1038: thank you! I feel totally fine, so I hope it was just a fluke!

@MrsGeePerez: I didn't realize fainting could be an issue either. It didn't happen to me with my last pregnancy. Bizarre.
Popping and clicking? Cool. Is it really faint, or do you hear it clearly? I'll have to pay closer attention...

@sometimesshesings: OMG! So glad you're fine!@MrsGeePerez: That's crazy that you could tell!!

@sometimesshesings: This one has been much tougher and I think I'm ready to put my pregnancy days behind me. DH is 100% positive we're two and through and I'm definitely warming up to it! As far as names go, the problem is DH and I have different tastes. He vetoed all my favorites, we're left with four names he really likes and I'm ok with. Just hard to let go of the idea of not absolutely loving my baby's name (I do think its fair though since I picked our son's name, he initially vetoed it then warmed up to it). Being team green and having to have two names would be way hard! Do you think the two and through thing is making it harder for you guys to choose?

@FannyMae: Thanks. And I think its hilarious you were planning on stringing your DH along about the name, very nice of you to tell him early

@wrkbrk: Very pretty shower! I love the elephant theme. Hopefully you received a lot of useful things.

@clover: Thank you! The hosts did a great job. The nursery is elephants so thats what they picked. We got our monitor! That was probably my favorite gift!

@wrkbrk: Love your shower! So cute! Have you posted pictures of the nursery already? Love the elephant theme as my almost 2.5 year old is elephant obsessed right now!

@AggieDaze: Thank you! Sadly no - I started that thread and I still cannot post because we just got our crib two days ago! Haha! I promise I will when the decorations are hung - hopefully this upcoming weekend! Yay elephants

@clover: I can't remember how old your LO1 is; but I hear you on this pregnancy being much tougher. I've had a really easy pregnancy thus far (thank God), but still I am soooo much more exhausted, tired and sore than I ever was with LO1. Taking care of a toddler while pregnant will do that! Here's hoping the next few weeks go smoothly and quickly for both of us!
apricot / 448 posts
@Miss Sarah: Pregnancy insomnia is legit! It hasn't been as bad with LO2 (I think because I am so exhausted that I don't sleep as much as I just pass out). I've also been trying really hard to not look at my phone at all in the middle of the night; the light stimulates my brain too much and I'll be up for an hour each time I pee if I do!! Hope yours gets better!
I remember having insomnia in the first couple of months after LO1 was born too; I'd get up to feed him and then mess around on my phone for awhile before falling back asleep. No way that I'm doing that this time around!

@sometimesshesings: no clicking here, did you ask your OB about it?

In case anyone still needs a car seat, Amazon has the snapdragon (red and gray color) of the Chicco keyfit 30 on sale for 159.98 until Oct 21. You might be able to get more off if you add it to your Amazon baby registry and use your one-time "completion" code to purchase.
I've never seen a chicco this cheap so thought I'd pass on!

@AggieDaze: holy cow! Thanks for sharing! Adding to my registry now! Hehe.

Hope everyone is feeling well!
I've started having really sharp pains (I think they are often referred to as lightening crotch) in my pelvic bone. Guessing some part of the baby is down there pushing or pressing on a nerve. Anyone else experiencing these?
Also is anyone else nesting like crazy? I've been crafting on all kinds of random things, and this baby's impending arrival is the only excuse I can think of.
persimmon / 1436 posts
Had my last size check ultrasound (36 weeks) and my doctor is estimating this baby will be just under 10 pounds. I am measuring 3 weeks ahead. I don't know how much more my skin can stretch!! Even my maternity clothes are getting small now. Weight gain is still within guidelines--just a huge belly. This whole thing is making me convinced we are definitely two and through though! Someone remind me if I get baby fever in another few years.
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Finfan: Good luck!! As we hear all the time, those measurements are guesses ... if it makes you feel any better I was measuring 2 weeks ahead at my 35 week on Monday!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Finfan: Does ordering at least one thing per day on Amazon Prime count as nesting?
persimmon / 1436 posts
@wrkbrk: that does make me feel better. I'm not very optimistic that their measurements are wrong. We have huge babies in my family!
persimmon / 1461 posts
@AggieDaze: definitely nesting here, trying to get the last of our house projects completed before baby comes along.
@Finfan: I was measuring 1 week ahead at my 33 week appointment, its going to be interesting to see what size these babes are all born at.
I'm feeling quite sh!tty here, I've come down with the flu yep, sick again with coughing, mucus, mega headache, ear infection, fever - the works! my GP has put me on antibiotics so this chesty-ness doesn't turn into bronchitis again, and hubby has had to take time off work to look after LO as my mum has the flu too and MIL has 2 other LO's to look after which I don't want my one to infect. I rang OB's office just to leave a message for him to put it on my record, there isn't much else I can do other than rest/medicate/hydrate. waaaaah!
apricot / 358 posts
@FannyMae: ugh! So sorry to hear you're sick again! My son recently started preschool, so now we're exposed to all sorts of nastiness. We all came down with a horrible chest cold over the weekend. I've been reassured that coughing won't induce labor, but yikes! My whole belly feels tight and sore!
Just four weeks left... I can't wait to start seeing baby announcements here!
persimmon / 1135 posts
@wrkbrk: haha I've been doing the same on Amazon and cleaning a lot more than I usually do.. which I'm sure dh likes..
1 week exactly until my section! so crazy! feeling pretty good still, tho I have shooting pains down the back of my right leg every so often which dr said was normal. hurts like crazy tho.
really I'm just going nuts worrying about A and how she's going to get along while I'm in the hospital. I want to focus on this little guy but my thoughts are still all about her and how she will do without me for 5 days..

I can't wait to see a delivery board go up for this group!! I have been terrible about posting, but I do get on and read, so I'm all caught up! Sorry for the illness going around, I've had a few sniffles here and there, too. Also, I feel like nesting is hit or miss for me. Like today, I have no plans and should be prepping like crazy, but I'm being lazy because I'm tired and achey.
Speaking of achey, I just found out what sciatic nerve pain is all about it. Mine started Thursday, right at 35 weeks! Ouch! Also, baby girl is fantastic at jabbing me in the ribs, usually while I'm teaching or trying to sleep. I know I've got about a month to go and it's all 100% worth it, but I do hope that at least the sciatica subsides at some point.
nectarine / 2047 posts
I'm not very good at posting either, but I'm all caught up as well! 36 weeks tomorrow and I can't believe it! I'm cleaning like a crazy lady and finished up all the shopping for whatever was left on our registry that I thought we would definitely need in the first few weeks.
Hope everyone who is sick and/or having pain feels better soon
Can't wait to start hearing birth announcements!! SO SOON!!
