@Beebug: I think you're entitled to stay home! I love Hilsy's ice cream idea

I am so off ice cream right now, I think I ate too much earlier in the pregnancy, lol. I am in our recliner in the livingroom with everything around me I need to not have to move.

I think I finally figured out this crochet stuff so I may see if I can pick away at that! Not sure what's on TV tonight......but I will soon find out!

Acid reflux was/is awful today, I have a friend visiting with her 4 month old tomorrow and am excited!

Had a doctor's appt today (last one!!) and she stripped my membrane....and I have been having contractions since!!! I'm starting to wonder if tonight will be the night, wishful thinking maybe but I'm keeping an eye to see if I need to start timing.

So I registered for that race! It was $40 to do until Oct 31st, and then begins to go up by $5 and $10 as the race gets closer, so I figured why not!

I was/am actually relieved that the marathon it's advertised with is not the same day! The 10k is the Saturday night before (6:30pm racetime....different!!) and the half and full marathon is the Sunday -the marathon is a Boston qualifier so it will likely still be big, but not *as* big! So yah, May 4th, 6:30pm, 10km and I have a date!!! I am so interested to see how training goes, wonder if I will get anywhere close to my previous race times and my PB!!! Oh well if not, but I will be competitive with myself!!!

Waiting for a "landed" text from DH!

@jessiejo17: Eeeek keep us posted that is so exciting!

I feel so behind on this thread. I'm also a runner (pre pregnancy) and plan to jump back in soon after having LO. I am SO SO SO out of shape right now and gained a ton so I think it will take me a while but I think I can handle a 10k by spring.

DS has "Big Brother" class on Tuesday I'm probably more excited then he is lol.

I'm so excited to go to my appt tomorrow morning. I am hoping for some progress with my internal. My OB will not schedule an induction unless I am very thinned out and 2-3 cm dialted by my appt next Friday. I will be SO depressed if I have not progressed at all.

  13. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Mrs.B: I know how you feel:( I am trying to get effaced real good, not so I'll go into labor early, but so my OB will fulfill her promise of inducing me on my edd. If I'm not effaced she won't induce and I seriously am banking on being done in these 2w, no longer!!! I am 38w today!!! (well in 33minutes, I'll be 38w haha)

  14. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

Well I'm still here, my contractions never got stronger or closer together (still having them though) so hopefully some spicy Thai food at lunch will help move things along! TMI alert: I had my bloody show/rest of my mucus plug fall out this morning, so my body is definitely preparing itself!

  15. Mrs.B

    clementine / 961 posts

    @jessiejo17: Ah so exciting!

I just had a super disapointing appointment I'm still 0% effaced and only 1cm dialated Baby is at -2 which I guess is an improvement from last week. My OB moved my appt next week from Fri to Wed so if by some miracle I thin out and dialate another CM she will schedule an induction for the 7th. Baby PLEASE cooperate!

@jessiejo17: Keep us posted! Sounds like you're getting close!

@Mrs.B: Sorry you didn't have the progress you had hoped for.

Thank goodness it's Friday! Happy Friday everyone!

Have any of you felt cramps that feel like menstrual cramps? I've been getting them on and off probably for that last week, but noticing them more in the last couple of days.

  17. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@jessiejo17: Sounds like good signs! Keep us updated

    @Mrs.B: Come on baby!!

@mrskc: I've been feeling really crampy all week =/

Today is my last day of work before maternity leave!!!!!!!!!!! THANK GOODNESS.

  18. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@mrskc: I've had cramping...but last night took the cake. DH was like "is this labor!?" but I think it was honestly 1. He's run out of space 2. My insides are not willing to stretch anymore. Might be te same for you?

Sooooo jealous of anyone who goes into labor this week either spontaneously or by induction. Ideally I'd love to be done this week:) good thing is I'll get an u/s and membrane sweep this week so at least I get to look forward to something!

@jessiejo17: It definitely sounds like the big day is quickly approaching! Good luck!
@mrskc: no menstrual cramps or BH for me...I'm starting to think this baby may cook for a long time after the due date and I'll be a Nov mama.
@Running Elley: Happy maternity leave -- or more like happy SAHM leave!

1 month from today til my EDD (yes I'm a very late October mama!).

  22. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@TurtleDoves: I was feeling that way last night too! And I do seriously think that a lot of it is that it HURTS when he moves now and feels crampy. He'll shift and it feels like his head is just griiiiiiiiiinding on my pelvis.

@Tidybee: The final countdown I can't wait to hear whether your LO is a him or a her!

  23. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Running Elley: Yay for starting mat leave! Or I guess yay for being done with work forever!

@TurtleDoves: Definitely feel like he's got less space in there. I woke up with a pretty annoying cramp last night. Makes me feel like I'm not sure that I can make it through labor with out an epi.

@Tidybee: You are pretty late! But me too. You're only 3 days behind me. And I think Hilsy & hellobeeboston have Oct 24th due dates. So there are a lot of us due at the end of Oct. I'm really hoping this little guy doesn't make me wait until Nov!

Do you guys feel sick when you need to eat? I get this light headed feeling and I start feeling really hot and I know I need to eat something. I hate how much weight I've gained at the end. Already up almost 35 lbs, but I eat when I'm hungry so I guess nothing I can do about it.

@jessiejo17: you're getting so close!!! fingers still crossed for you!!!

@Mrs.B: hoping baby gets moving along this weekend!!!

@MrsKC: Not too crampy, but when it does happen it's always in the evening

@RunningElley: SO JEALOUS! I think I'm finally at the point where I am ready to be done with work. Hopefully no more than another week!

    @TidyBee - YAY! Only 1 month left!!!

  25. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

So, I had a funny dream last night... and you were all in it!!!
I dreamt that I went to the hospital b/c I wanted a membrane sweep. I found my doctor and begged her for one b/c all of my "HelloBee" friends were getting them and I wanted one too! So she did it and I got sent to the delivery wing and all of you were there waiting to deliver.

Really weird and funny :o) Gotta love pregnancy dreams!!!

  26. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@mrskc: I have definitely been feeling more crampy - off & on. I am trying to drink way more water and find it helps -- I brought it up to the Doc, she just said it had to do with the baby getting bigger/moving down.

    @CarrieLouWho: that is hilarious!

@Running Elley: So awesome! Enjoy!!!! I've got 2 weeks left! UGH... but we have columbus day off, so really only 9 days!

Sooo.... I have a COLD BOOOOOO.
I just jinxed myself the other day saying how i've haven't been sick at all in over a year. DAMN. @hilsy85: are you over your cold? how did you deal? i usually take a ton of advil cold & sinus, I hope this goes away FAST.

  27. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@mrskc: I haven't gotten what you're talking about - but I notice I am eating more. I wake up starving, and have noticed my stomach growling more than normal. I try to eat a little bit all day. I've always got a little snack at my desk.... But I have been feeling nauseous occasionally, not sure why, never had any sickness in this pregnancy.

  28. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@CarrieLouWho: That is so funny!!!! I'm personally hoping that the full moon does it's job for some of us this weekend

  29. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@RunningElley - EVERYONE keeps telling me I'll go this weekend b/c of the full moon. I'd be okay with starting labor Sunday night b/c I have a mani/pedi tomorrow & a 90 minute massage on Sunday... so I want to get those in!!! Haha.

Ahhhh!!! I'm just so EXCITED for October to get here... we're all about to become MOMS!!! Woohoo!!!

  30. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

    @CarrieLouWho: That's hilarious!

My work through me a surprise shower today at lunch. Very sweet of all of them. I have more thank you cards to write now. I'm still trying to finish the ones from my shower 3 weeks ago. Oops. I better get on that.

@hellobeeboston: Hope you feel better soon! I got a cold a couple of months ago and I was miserable for a week. Hope you get over yours quick.

  31. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@CarrieLouWho: Oh yes, definitely need to get pampered first!!@mrskc: How cool! My work did too And I'm still working on thank you cards from our last shower so you're not alone! I'm planning on getting them all knocked out this weekend!

  32. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Running Elley: I know I really feel like his head is jamming itself into the birth canal deeper and deeper this week...which I am totally O.K with!

@mrskc: my dream would be to go without the epi...I'd feel like such a CHAMP! But, everytime I get a BH I almost cry...sooooooo, I'm feeling like I've already lost that battle:/ We shall see!

@CarrieLouWho: aaaaaaaaaaahhhahahaha that is hilarious! I have to admit you girls make it into my dreams too....I am always saying things in my dreams like "I wonder what so-so would do...." "I better ask so-so about this.."

@hellobeeboston: don't you know the minute you say "gosh I'm so lucky to not get sick" is when you get sick? Works like a charm for me. ..but I never learn either;)

So, I had a bad dream last night. It was SO STRESSFUL. I had the baby and we were so excited that I took him to my neighbor's house to show them...and forgot him there! Then late at nigh I remembered him and went back for him only to find him in the same spot I left him (alone in his car seat). And I started crying and thought he had starved to death....but turns out he was just really hungry and he was still O.K.....But he looked SO SAD. He had puppy eyes when he saw me. I felt like SUCH CRAP! So, what do I do? like any good mother would, I throw his car seat (with him in it) IN THE TRUNK of my car and drive home so I can feed him. When I told my husband this he was like "you're not going nneeeeeear the baby because clearly you are a crazy lady!" My dream was so horrible!

  33. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@TurtleDoves: Oh. My. Goodness. I totally just laughed out loud at the putting the carseat in the trunk thing But that dream would've stressed me out too!!

  34. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@TurtleDoves: Awww. I hate those kinds of dreams. I've definitely had a couple of bad dreams about the baby. Mostly I feel anxiety about taking care of him. I had one where I left him in an empty building all night alone.

@hellobeeboston: oh no I am feeling better finally but now dh is sick, boo. I just took Tylenol and had lots of soup and tea. Get some rest this weekend! I hope you feel better!! Being sick is no fun.

    Morning ladies!!

I had another hit by a truck day yesterday, holy moly. Pains and just weird feelings down there, taking it easy today!

38w! Two weeks today until EDD.

As we are almost into October I thought about some fun things I am looking forward to, again not in an anxious to not be pregnant way....just excited to experience/do again once baby is in our lives!!!

    So...!
    Due Date: Oct 13, 2013
Plans for induction, betting on going early/late?: Betting on late, Oct 20th!
Weeks along, weight gain (copy cat from other thread!): 38 weeks, 51lbs
    Boy, Girl, or Surprise: Girl!!!
Name(s)?: Clueless, no idea at all.
How many contractions away is the hospital?: 2-3 if we go when they are 5 mins apart!
Any anticipated labour/delivery complications? (breech baby, GBS postive, etc?): GBS positive, other than that, nothing we currently know about.
Most recent appt stats: 1cm dilated, 30% effaced
    Next appt? October 4, 2012
Guestimated Birthweight of baby: 8lbs 6oz.
Will baby have hair? No hair? Hair colour guesses? Thick mop of dark brown hair!!
Anything left to do?: Some baby laundry, window valence for nursery!
Most nervous/anxious about: Interesting to see how our birth goes! Not nervous, but just anxious to go through it all and how it "really" feels like!
How are you feeling?: Good days and bad, sickness has subsided a little (finally) but definitely have some slow days!
Aside from baby arrival being safe, and baby and Mom being healthy, what are you looking forward to once your baby is here?: Holding her, seeing her first smile, watching DH "become" a Dad -I've never called anyone Dad before, and that is a biggie for me for our LO!
Looking forward to post-pregnancy? Sleeping on my TUMMY! Being able to get up from laying down without being on my side and pushing myself up (lol).
Post-pregnancy fitness goals? (If any!): Depending on how birth goes and recovery from that, swimming eventually, and then running again and getting back to normal/back into my sports! Running, horseback riding, and ultimate frisbee.
What do you anticipate will be the most difficult part of learning to parent or the hardest adjustment to being a parent?: Hard not to say "everything", but I think I will definitely struggle the first time baby is sick, obviously seeking medical help, but feeling so helpless with a sick baby, knowing what is best when they can't communicate I am nervous for!
Return to work date (if returning!): Oct 3, 2013
As of now, how many children do you think you will have?: One or two more after this one!

  37. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

Guestimated Birthweight of baby: no idea yet
Will baby have hair? No hair? I'd guess dark hair not too much though
Anything left to do?: literally nada
Most anxious about: I just want us both safe and healthy!
How are you feeling?: severely not enjoying this anymore but still not "lost my mind" point
Aside from baby arrival being safe, and baby and Mom being healthy, what are you looking forward to once your baby is here?: Seeing his face! And kissing it!
Looking forward to post-pregnancy? Honestly? My body and my sex life back without Buddha belly being in my way
Post-pregnancy fitness goals? (If any!): Start walking as soon as I can manage: start jogging and weight lifting as soon as I'm cleared. I ideally want to be in prepreg shape by the new year (so roughly 11-12w pp)
What do you anticipate will be the most difficult part of learning to parent or the hardest adjustment to being a parent?: the end of my freedom: but I welcome that:)
Return to work date (if returning!): when he is at leeeeast 1 no later than when he starts prek though.
As of now, how many children do you think you will one: in a perfect world: a total of 4/5 by the time I'm 36ish (I'm 24).

    squash / 13764 posts

    Boy, Girl, or Surprise: boy
Name(s)?: Still not 100 percent decided.

Most recent appt stats: 1cm dilated, not effaced (I didn't get a percentage)
    Next appt? October 2
Guestimated Birthweight of baby: I think he'll be 7lbs 10oz
Will baby have hair? No hair? A little bit of dark hair
Anything left to do?: pack hospital bag and hang nursery artwork
Most anxious about: Not knowing when or how I'll go into labor
How are you feeling?: still pretty comfortable, just bored and over pregnancy
Aside from baby arrival being safe, and baby and Mom being healthy, what are you looking forward to once your baby is here?: Seeing what baby looks like and getting to know him
Looking forward to post-pregnancy? Ditto to having my body and sex life back! And running!
Post-pregnancy fitness goals? (If any!): get back to pre pregnancy weight/size by April. Start exercising as soon as possible.
What do you anticipate will be the most difficult part of learning to parent or the hardest adjustment to being a parent?: figuring out sleeping and feeding.
Return to work date (if returning!): no plans as of right now, may start looking for part time work in the spring
As of now, how many children do you think you will have: three, two boys and a girl

  39. Mrs.B

    clementine / 961 posts

    Fun!

    Due Date: Oct 14, 2012

Plans for induction, betting on going early/late?: I would like to be induced sometime after 39w and before I spontaniously go into labor but if not then I'm guessing I will go 1-2 days early.

Weeks along, weight gain (copy cat from other thread!): 38 weeks, 47lbs

    Boy, Girl, or Surprise: Surprise

    Name(s)?: Raphael or Elia

How many contractions away is the hospital?: 5-6 on a good traffic day.

Any anticipated labour/delivery complications? (breech baby, GBS postive, etc?): No

Most recent appt stats: 1cm dilated, 0% effaced, -2 station

    Next appt? October 3, 2012

Guestimated Birthweight of baby: Not sure.

Will baby have hair? No hair? Hair colour guesses? I'm thinking bald.

Anything left to do?: Finish organizing nursery

Most nervous/anxious about: Giving birth. I'm hoping to get threw it without an epi but I'm having my doubts.

How are you feeling?: Ready to be done! I've been super exhausted lately.

Aside from baby arrival being safe, and baby and Mom being healthy, what are you looking forward to once your baby is here?: Knowing if I have a son or daughter and just being able to experience this with DH. I am so excited to lay eyes on our child for the first time.

Looking forward to post-pregnancy? Not having this big belly!

Post-pregnancy fitness goals? (If any!): Get back into pre pregnancy shape and run a full marathon within 2 years of giving birth.

What do you anticipate will be the most difficult part of learning to parent or the hardest adjustment to being a parent?: Making sure I spend enough time with DS so he doesn't feel jealous towards his new sibling.

Return to work date (if returning!): I'm a SAHM.

As of now, how many children do you think you will have?: I was thinking 1 more but this will probably be our last.

@Mrs.B: I had a dream last night that you had a boy....random! But thought I would mention it, ha!

I have been up since just before 5am. Ugh. I am hoping I will be able to nap today.

I need to take a 38w pic today, forgot yesterday. DH is home "today" which will really be tomorrow sometime middle of the night! Their team plays one more game this morning, they have won one, and lost one so far! All I wanted to do was get through this weekend so he could be away.....so close!!!
