@CarrieLouWho: Happy anniversary! And it sounds like your body is getting ready, so who knows, maybe things will get going this weekend for you And if not, next week is SO close!!

@Mrs.B: is it weird that I would be SO excited if I lost my mucous plug? lol. Hope you get good news at your appt.

@TurtleDoves: good for you! You've inspired me to do more walking...I've been doing mainly the elliptical for cardio, but I think my focus needs to be less on "work up a sweat/burn calories" and more on "walk this baby out! (or at least walk until he drops)". So that's my new plan

  2. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@Hilsy85 - I think I'm going to employ the walkathon now too!!! We're having a little bit of a heat/humidity wave here in VA this week, so it's super gross out (86 + 100% humidity does not make for a happy pregnant lady!). But I think that'll help!

Has anyone else heard that squats are a good way to induce labor? I've had a couple friends swear by them!

  3. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@CarrieLouWho: ugh that sounds awful! It went back up to the high 70s here in NYC today/tomorrow/Friday and I am annoyed! I want crisp fall weather I have also heard that squats are helpful, and I think I will start adding them to the routine next week!

Dog is giving me another round of baby practice now.....he is so sick again! Bless his little heart, you can tell he's so embarrassed when he's sick, I try to stay patient with the clean up....*gags*

I cut the lawn, whipper snipped and edged and then rakes this morning, I am thinking screw this, I am working hard to make myself tired.

So I checked the mail today.....and in the mail was a 4 page typed letter from one of my closest friends. It was "on being a Mum" and I do need to re-read it again, and I know she meant well, but it just made me feel like "oh she doesn't know what's coming, she'll eat her words soon" and I absolutely know that was not her intention, but like.....?!?! It's just different to me.

Has anyone not lost their mucus plug? Like no sign of anything lost? All you ladies talk about it, and gosh knows I look for anything....but there's nothing to see, lol.

@CarrieLouWho: Ugh that weather sounds miserable. It's so dry where I'm at, that I can't handle humidity.

We're finally going to start cooling off here. We've been hit with a heat wave causing upper 90's/100 degree temps. This is the last day of 90s, then it will finally drop to the 80s! I hope I can start doing some more walking with the weather being nicer now.

  6. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@Mrs.B: Boo no sleep camp. I am also like literally not a bit tired when I am up in the middle of the night too, so annoying! I am usually such a good sleeper, so this is just too weird.

Appt tomorrow, 10am! We shall see how that goes.

Looks like it's going to rain here, temps have been great, not too hot, great for windows open/sleep at night!

  7. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Beebug: I have not seen any sign of a mucus plug yet. I'm sure your friend meant well, but it seems a little strange.

  8. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

Someone is texting me right now, they definitely know me, it's an area code from where DH is from (Nova Scotia) and I have NO idea who it is, it's about baby and how we much be so excited, blah blah.....awkward....I don't want to be like "who is this" infact I can't now, I have been playing along with the convo way too long, lol.

@mrskc: I don't know what to say to my friend about the letter "thanks", like....I guess I have to, but it's just weird.

  9. Running Elley

@Beebug: I haven't lost my plug either...no sign of it. I thought that at least after shaving my membranes stripped I'd see some of it but nothing =/ I notice some CM that's egg whitish (like when we were TTC lol) but nothing that's the mucus plug. Gah!

  10. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Beebug: If it was me, I'd probably not even say anything to her and end up just ranting about it to my husband over and over again. lol Probably not the best thing. Totally awkward you're texting someone that you don't know who it is. Can you try to figure it out? Usually when that happens to me, the first thing I write back is "I'm sorry, I don't have your number saved in my phone. Who is this?" But since you've already been writing them back, it's probably too late for that! lol

  11. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@mrskc: Yah, too late for that. I think it's someone I have on Blackberry messenger, but they are texting me and I don't have their number saved. My best guess is that it's one of my SILs just by the way she is typing, and yah....I've totally let it go too far now, hahaha.

I told DH about the letter, and told him to read it when he gets a chance, and I will read it again too, and then will try not to let certain parts of it bug me.....(good luck to me on that one!)

Appointment stats: loose 1 but not yet 2 cm, 50% effaced, and -2 station.

We decided not to go threw with any induction at this point and see what happens. My next appt is Friday the 12th and we are hoping I go into labor before then. If not then we will set an induction date. We found a back up plan for DS so I'm ok with waiting now. Doctor said she was rough with my cervix to help try and kick start contractions. So far I am super crampy but do not think I will be going into labor until next week sometime.

@hilsy85: I'm dead scared to squat in fear that I won't be able to get up!
@Beebug: A letter? Weiiiird... I want to give her the benefit of the doubt & say her intentions were good but that's odd

I think with all the plans I have for this weekend, I am setting myself up for a jinx and a baby! First agility trial for dog Saturday, then a wedding later that afternoon. Sunday, we've invited four hockey players DH coaches for Thanksgiving dinner, and somewhere in there I want to go to the pumpkin patch to get pumpkin and take pics, sounds like a recipe for labour!

We'll see! Will check in after my appt tomorrow....unless I am up all hours through the night again tonight, please no!!! Dog is sick though, so even though I might finally get sleep, dog might have up.....good thing he's cute!

Got almost 8 hours sleep!! Trade off? Woke up sick, bleh!

Stuffy nose (can't breathe through one nostril -annoying! and scratchy throat...!)

  17. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@BeeBug - you crack me up! I can't believe you ate a whole pineapple! Maybe it has sedative properties too and helped you get a good nights sleep!

@Mrs.B - fingers are crossed for labor before the 12th, that's my day too so I'll be thinking about you!!!

Hey ladies - just checking in in my spare moment. My replacement at work started this week, and she is literally my shadow, so my hellobee time at work is taking a drastic cut! The good news is is that this means I'm that much closer to maternity leave and baby! Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of all of you and checking in when I can. xoxo to my favorite mamas to be.

  19. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@Beebug: BOOOO - sorry to hear you're sick! i had a headcold last weekend, but it wasn't bad, rested and drank a ton of fluids, made a huge pot of spicy chicken soup. hope you feel better soon. hilarious you ate a whole pineapple.

@hilsy85: i also don't think I could do squats and not fall over! I did buy a large bouncy/birthing ball thing though - I sit on it when I get home from work - the woman in my childbirth class recommended it - feels so nice to sit on and is supposed to help open your pelvis to let the baby drop.

had my 37 week appt yesterday - nothing to report! I feel like the babe is still really high! I'm having some crampiness/pressure, so that must mean he's moving down, but it doesn't look like it! Also - I feel like he is more active than ever before?! Anyone else? I thought they were supposed to move less at this point.

next week at my 38 week appt is my first internal - kinda scared! my doc said it is more uncomfortable than a pap, eek! my husband is going to come though so I'll squeeze his hand.

  20. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@hellobeeboston: I also feel like baby is moving a TON! He keeps jabbing his feet in my sides and I get this crazy looking bulge, lol. Also, my internals have not been bad at all--there's some pressure, but if you relax and breathe through it, it's really not too painful.

hmm maybe the squats won't be as easy as I thought! I also have a birthing ball but it's not blown up yet. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

  21. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@Beebug: so sorry you're feeling sick chicken soup and tea?

@Tidybee: that's exciting!! When is your last day of work?

  22. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@hilsy85: ooh thank you for saying that! I will try to relax and breathe! Maybe because the babes are SO BIG now we just feel ever movement? I also get the crazy bulge which he was doing yesterday when they were listening to his heartbeat, and the nurse thought he was being funny sticking is butt way out....

Definitely blow up your birthing ball! feels so good on my hips at the end of the day. my husband likes to sit on it too, haha.

  23. CupQuakeWalk

@hellobeeboston: you're husband sounds like mine...he likes to try out all my pregnancy stuff & when we did my prenatal yoga DVD he was huffing and puffing!

  24. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Mrs.B: Hope labor starts before next week for you!

@hellobeeboston: I still feel a lot of movement too. It's more like shifting around in there and sliding motions and his butt will push up. lol

I don't recommend squats. I did like 4 lunges last weekend b/c I heard it can help baby drop. I was sore for a couple of days after that. My body is not used to the extra 35 lbs it's carrying. I also made the mistake of lifting some boxes last night and now my back is hurting this morning.

I remember someone on here mentioned they were feeling another kind of rhythmic movement? I've been feeling it too for the last week. I swear it's the baby practicing breathing. I can feel it on one side of my bump and it moves up and down. Like a dog panting.

    Hi ladies!

Appt was good! Home to the couch for fluids and laziness!

She checked my ears and throat, said sickness is just viral/head cold, rest up and stay hydrated, nice to have my appt today with the sickness rolling in!

You know how last week I complained about pain when peeing (when I was "empty" after pee) and some of you mentioned UTI? Well last week I pee'd in a cup as usual, no UTI, but this week with no symptoms I have one? Blood and calcium in urine, as I don't have any symptoms/nothing bugging me we opted to not take anything for it.

192lbs (+52lbs!), I don't think I am going to meet my weight gain goal (newly formed goal, lol) of 200lbs! Thanksgiving this weekend could help though, ha! Blood pressure was 115/80!

2cm dilated, 50% effaced, progress, but different doctor than my regular one, so who knows. Stretch and sweep did not hurt near as much as last week with my regular doctor, but we'll see what I am saying tomorrow, the day after last week's was awful! Her head is down, we pinched her butt and poked her toes, and she reacted, haha that was too fun.

I've had ringing in my ears for almost a week now too, so I just asked, figuring it wasn't preggo related, but definitely wasn't helping when I wasn't sleeping, no insight as to what it was, hopefully it will pass......it sounds like our neighbours smoke detector going off if I could compare it to anything, far enough away that it's just a mild buzz/ring, but we live in a subdivision, so close enough it can definitely be heard!

I am on my first day of maternity leave today, filled out the online government maternity stuff today, took about half hour, nice that it could be done entirely online! I know I will get the max amount from government (55% of pay, but I make over their max) and then my employer tops me up, and pays me through the initial two week waiting period which is awesome.

Couch time, what trashy TV am I going to get myself into!

  26. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@mrskc: yes! that was me! I brought up the rythmic moving with my doc - she said it could be practice breathing - or also the baby sucking his/her thumb/hand!

    @Beebug: we're in the same position! Both 38&5 and both 2cm & 50% effaced:)

So I'm at te gym bouncing on a ball...my goal is 2h in the gym and so far I'm at 83min so about 30mins to go! Then I'll eat some pineapple and hope for a weekend baby!

  28. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@TurtleDoves: Ohh interesting, will be interesting to see when we go, and we're so close together with EDD too!!!!

Good for you at the gym, seriously no idea how you do it, I am such a joke with any type of physical activity!

  29. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@hellobeeboston: I knew someone else on here was feeling that!

@Beebug: You are too funny with your weight goal of 200 lbs!

All my coworkers say I look like I've dropped compared to yesterday. Maybe that's why my lower back is hurting this morning? Baby boy is moving into position!

  30. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Beebug: I don't enjoy it! I only only do it because my doctor said it would give me leg strength for pushing and it would make me less stiff and less likely to tear..so I make myself do it. It's so boring.

@mrskc: If you've dropped then its time for a new bump pic! :))

I am home alone for 3 more hours because DH is having dinner with some out of town buddies so, I'm going to entertain myself with baking! I'm making confetti cupcakes with the vanilla confetti frosting! Can you tell I'm having cravings? :)))) mmmm

So, I will preface this post - I am generally very optimistic and positive, I'm an extrovert and people pleaser, and I really haven't been very emotional during this pregnancy. That being said... It's 9:30 am and I feel like bursting into tears and I know it's (mostly) horomone driven.

    1. I am over everyone at work saying every morning - you're still here? Are you feeling ok? She hasn't dropped yet. Blah, blah, blah. I know they mean well, but I'm ready to be done with work and I'm tired of people saying the same thing over and over every day.

    2. I talked to my mom this morning. She and my dad are going with a group of friends next weekend to a cabin for this halloween festival thing they do every year. Well, if I don't have the baby until next Friday (which is my induction date), then they are going to miss the weekend. They've known this was a possibility since FEBRUARY. But my dad won't cancel and my mom seems to be okay with it even though they will lose money. Mom said that they can go there for part of the weekend then come here.
Um... it's like 3 hours away. If I'm in labor on Friday morning, hopefully the baby will be here by Saturday. And the festival is only Friday - Sunday. I'm just feeling annoyed that Dad won't just cancel the thing b/c even if I do have the baby this weekend or earlier next week, I would expect them to want to come up and see the baby that weekend (they live 2.5 hours from us and it's the FIRST GRANDBABY!)

    3. We haven't made any kind of plans last weekend or this weekend b/c we didn't know when baby was coming. I was supposed to go to a friends dinner last night, but her daughter got sick and the dinner got canceled. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND that... just bummed I didn't get to see folks. I just emailed our 2 couple friends to see if they wanted to get dinner tonight, and both said no - other stuff going on.
I know, I know, people make plans - but I feel like if the baby isn't here I should be taking advantage of the free time we have left! I want to see friends, and go to dinner... but no one else does

Ok. End rant. I'm being an emotional drama queen today.

@CarrieLouWho: Big hugs!!! Sounds like a few things that have combined with hormones to be really irritating. You are in the home stretch though--so close to meeting LO and having all these pregnancy annoyances seem like a thing of the past!! Maybe you and DH can make plans to do something just the two of you this weekend?

Hey ladies! Just wanted to pop in, it's been a few hectic days. Emme is still in Nicu but we are praying she gets out today, her jaundice levels are borderline high and she will have to stay and be put under light if they get by higher. We have a lazy eater on our hands so we made the decision to supplement with formula to get her the nutrients and fluids she needs. She has done so much better since doing so, it was very hard to make that decision but glad we did. I'm still pumping and we do give her that milk too.

Hope you ladies are feeling well, can't wait to check back in and see all the babies

@CarrieLouWho: You're in the home stretch! Soon you will have your LO. My Dad is going to FL the 10th-21st and I am due the 14th so I can relate :/. He is the only family of mine that lives near us besides my grandmother so basically none of my family will be here when LO is born

I've been having weird pains this morning. I don't think it's labor but I'm hoping it's LO dropping into my pelvis more. It's hard to explain but I feel a ton of pressure on my girly parts accompanied by pain in my stomach. Hopefully it's LO getting ready.

DH spoke to my girly parts last night. It was weird but cute at the same time. He was telling LO to "Go towards the light". lol he hasn't spoken to my belly at all during pregnancy so it caught me by surprise.

Anyone else worried that you won't "know" when you are in labor? I worry about this alot. I'm not sure I will "know" when to call DH to come home when I'm in labor.

  36. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@CarrieLouWho: Hugs! I would definitely be over the work comments, and probably would have opened my mouth and regretted it later if I was getting those comments! Combine that with everything else happening, hugs! I have a feeling if things happen over next weekend your parents will realize they do want to be with you, and will be around!

I slept last night again, woo! Still sick, but atleast the snot (lol gross!) is getting OUT of me and hopefully that means I will be better soon. I have joked I am going to sneeze this baby out though, geez! I was in bed at 10 last night, until 9 this am.....we won't talk about the fact I was up 6x in the night to pee, but I did get sleep, thank goodness.

Can't wait to hear which one of us is next!!!!

@Mrs.B: I hope I'll know when to call DH home, either water breaking will be the definite call, or consistency between contractions!

Anyone still not sure they know what a contraction is even going to feel like? I am sure I've had BH contractions, but couldn't pinpoint what it feels like, hopefully the labour ones will be loud and clear!

  37. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@jessiejo17: so glad to hear an update! I was thinking about you guys. It sounds like supplementing with formula is definitely the right choice, at least for now while she's still working on developing that adorable baby chub How are you feeling? How has your recovery been?

@Mrs.B: Yes! I am scared that I won't know when I am having contractions...but then part of me is thinking, well considering how painful I hear they are, I'm pretty sure I'll know...? Just all part of this anxiety provoking experience, I guess!

  38. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@Beebug: ha ditto re: contractions, we must have posted at the same time

  39. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@JessieJ017 - Sorry to hear Emme is still in the NICU! Hopefully she'll get out of there ASAP!!! It sounds like you're making great mom decisions already - you're doing what's best for DD and that's the most important thing!

@Hilsy85 & @Mrs.B - thanks! I know I'm being emotional. I felt like I had prepared myself to go past my due date (TOMORROW!), but now that it's here I'm ready to meet DD!

@Mrs.B - That really stinks about your dad. I should be thankful that my in-laws and step-mom will be there and plenty of friends. I should be thankful for that.

Also, I've had that extra pressure on the lady parts since Wednesday and I keep thinking that she's dropping (but the dummy's at work keep saying I'm high - maybe it's b/c I have a short torso?). But I'm with you on that pain in my stomach too. It's not consistent, so I'm never sure if it's indigestion or contractions? It's also a lot harder to get up. I've got the waddle for sure now and can't walk fast.

Also feeling anxious about WHEN labor will start. I've been pretty calm about everything, I think this is only thing that I feel unsure about. Will I be at work? At home? Middle of the night?

We are getting close to the end ladies!!! I hope we get some October babies this weekend!
