I am loving the baby pictures, ladies!
They are beautiful & def giving me baby fever more & more.....I want a little munchkin like yours!

@Beebug: lol, I know...I can't beleieve we could go any minute...ANY minute. I want to go like...yesterday. But, now would be great too!

@RunningElley: I can't waiiiiiiiiiiiiit to see pictures and hear how things ended up playing out. I know you have time still but by tomorrow YOU.WILL.HAVE.A.BABY! So happy for you:)))

I am 39+3 today..Headed to the gym in a minute....and getting a membrane sweep tomorrow. So, I am thinking things *might* progress for me this week. Hope so...

@TurtleDoves: Hope things start happening for you soon. I think you'll be next.

I'm so tired today. Went to bed a bit later than usual. I get up every 1-2 hours to go to the bathroom. Then had a dream that startled me awake at 5:30 this morning. I wish I wasn't working right now. On another note, I'm really feeling ready for this baby to come. I'm trying not to feel anxious, but with all these babies over the weekend, I'm getting more and more excited. The only thing I have left to do is pack my hospital bag.

Someone has been SUPER quiet movement wise today....wonder what she is up to.

I am crocheting and watching TV, DH golfing.....we went for a good walk this morning, ugh I cant wait to not be stuffed up!

Hope everything is going well for Elley!!!!

    Yay for October babies arriving!!!

Those of you still waiting - how are you hanging in there? I'm starting to get craaaaaaazy antsy and I've got 2.5 weeks to go!

Danielle should be an Oct mama by now! She starte pushing 30mins ago and I am so so happy for her! Can't wait to hear some good news:)

@mrskc: I hope so too I'm so so so uncomfortable
@TheFixIts: hi! Hmm how? Well it's horrible to me! I am a miserable person all day and I'm always on edge and wondering "could it be today!?" it's tough but I trying to enjoy sleeping in and going out.........ah it's not fun at this point though (39&3).

@TheFixIts: I'm getting anxious too and I've still got 2.5 weeks left too! I think it's all the Oct ladies having their babies already. I'm just trying to distract myself with other last minute things I want to do.

I saw some pics on fbook--looks like elley's a mama! Her baby is adorable! Can't wait for her to update with how she's feeling/how delivery went.

@TheFixIts: I'm definitely getting antsy, although I'm trying to convince myself that baby will be late and I"ll probably need to be induced. That way, if he comes earlier on his own, I'll be pleasantly surprised. It works about 65% of the time

@mrskc: It's definitely getting tougher now that I'm seeing all these pics of sweet October babies! I want my little guy to get here already.

@TurtleDoves: yay for doctor's appt tomorrow--update on progress! I have one as well, but I"m not holding my breath for any news!

@Beebug: hmm maybe she's conserving energy for a big entrance sometime soon

@Running Elley: He is soooo cute!! Glad your little man is here!!!

  11. Beebug

@TheFixIts: I am still not all at that anxious aaaat all. I think I am more in denial that the time IS here and she could arrive anytime! I am still betting on going late, and just trying to get healthy before she comes!

DH and I had an awesome day today! Love that my fam does Thanksgiving dinner on the Sunday, and we had all of today to just do our own thing! DH went golfing this morning, this aft we went to the pumpkin farm, then to the movies, then BBQ`d a yummy dinner, it was seriously an awesome day!

I felt the baby doing I dont know what today.....it wasnt hiccup like, it was softer, but not heart beat fast, but repetitive and so cool to feel! Our dog was on my lap (just my legs) a lot of tonight with his head resting on my belly, it was so cute!!

I have hardly moved off the couch today. Baby is super quiet, but I am getting the odd thud here and there.

Acid reflux is AWFUL, like worst it has been the entire pregnancy at any time, and is constant...morning, afternoon, night, yuck. Anyone else....holy moly it sucks!

I have a few things I would like to do that I feel like if I were to go into labour and they weren't done I would feel a little panicked, but apparently don't care enough to get them taken care of.....maybe tomorrow!

  13. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

@Beebug: I'm also in complete denial that this could happen at any time! All the activity this weekend made it a tad more real, but I still feel like I have a ways to go...

  14. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Beebug: I wish I could be on the couch all day. I'm unfortunately still working. Doesn't sound like nesting has kicked in for you.

I'm trying to debate if I should make next Friday (the 19th) my last day of work. It's about a week before my EDD. On one hand, I'm so sick of going to work and would love some relax time. On the other hand, what if this baby is almost 2 weeks late? And I just sit around for 3 weeks and that's 3 weeks less I get to spend with him on maternity leave. Who knows, maybe he'll come before next Friday. Anyone else working until you go into labor?

  15. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@mrskc: what is the nature of your job? If its physically exhausting then yeah...I'd stop a week before. You will be sleep deprived and have no time to yourself once baby gets here so you may want to bank that alone time! Also: by 39w you should have a very good idea as to whether baby is going to be late or not based on progress right? I was a social worker and had I been working this fall: I would have kept working because I have a desk job and I can (for the most part) manipulate my schedule....so I guess it depends on what you do. You're not a teacher or something are you!?

  16. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@TurtleDoves: I'm an engineer and I work in an office. It's definitely not physically demanding. I sit in front of a computer all day. I have a 45 min commute one-way so I'm gone from 7am-6pm everyday. Even though it's just a desk job, I feel pretty beat when I get home. I feel like it's still manageable and I could push through. I just think a few days of rest before labor would be nice. I'll get an internal at my appt this thursday so maybe I'll have a better idea of when I'll go into labor. Gosh I wish I could know the exact date when labor will start. Wouldn't that be nice?!

ETA: Oh I should note that my schedule isn't flexible and I wouldn't have the option of working from home.

  17. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@mrskc: gotch ya...well for the commute: my vote is to skip out that last week;) but what do I know...I've been thinking I'm going into labor for the past week hehe

  18. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrskc: hmm I don't know, that's a toughie, especially if taking off time now would cut into your maternity leave...if that's the case, I guess I would try to stick it out as long as possible? But I think waiting to see how your internal goes is a good idea!

I had my 38w appt today--no progress, shocker! Still 1cm dilated, not really effaced,. She did say the baby is "dropping" and my cervix is apparently soft, so that's good. She tried to sweep my membranes but apparently it didn't work (baby is still too high maybe?) so she's going to try again next week. I'm feeling more zen this week than I was last week--que sera sera!

@mrskc: hey - too bad you can't work from home - that was what I was going to suggest until I saw they won't let you - although, if you're in front of a computer all day how can you not do that from home?

My last day in my office is THIS friday - but I am working from home all of next week, and possibly the week after (that's the week of my due date) if the baby hasn't arrived. They've been pretty flexible to allow me to do that, and as an art director I really can work from home, and the whole office is on Skype so I can be connected to them all day (not to mention email, phone and IM).... I also want to work as late as possible to save the time off with the baby, so I'm really hoping I'm not too overdue!

My first internal check is tomorrow, 38 weeks on the dot... Excited to see if anything is happening!

  20. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@hilsy85: Sorry you didn't have any progress. At least you're feeling better about it this week.

@hellobeeboston: my work is weird with that kind of stuff. Plus, I use computer programs like AutoCAD that I don't have at home.

I am going to get 24 weeks off. Probably 12-16 weeks totally off and then coming back part time for the rest of the time. I guess I'll just play it by ear. Either the 19th or 26th will be my last day.

  21. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@hellobeeboston: You and I for appts tomorrow! Anyone else?

I don't go until 3:15 though, I liked last week's first thing in the morning appt!

@mrskc: I vote finish on the 19th, but the "what ifs" with going overdue definitely don't help make the decision!

Just built a shelf for winter tires in the garage, I am seriously nuts, but I wanted it done! Making Shepherd's Pie for dins! DH is going to be at least an hour last judging by the lack of progress he's made on his commute and why he's slowed (as per what I can see on TV) his commute is an hour + on the way in, just under an hour on the way home.....on a good day.

I want to crochet a white beanie tonight.....see if I can get that done!

Again, any of you ladies still working, you're all amazing. Hard workin' Mama's for these babies!

I asked myself last night if I had 5 minutes to name the baby, what would it be, it took me longer than 5 minutes but if I had to choose right now.....it would be Kaileigh (so some way to spell it, I am not sure which is best, I love "leigh" on the end) which was our fave pick from this summer.......nothing else felt right!

  22. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@mrskc: ahh, yeah, that makes it tough.... they always provide me with a computer with all of the software on it - basically so we have no excuses & have to work all of the time!

@hilsy85: glad you're feeling more zen! we def still have a little time - i bet it will all happen so fast at the end - here's hoping at least!

  23. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

    @hilsy85: no progress either

I'm done worrying about it. I am done.....it's all good. My induction is Monday because my DD is fri and they don't induce on weekends so..Monday it is. Unless I go before then (which she says shes positive I will). But I believe no one. Looks like this baby's got a mind of his own..stubborn like his mama. Ahh....I will live.

Doctor reiterated to me a million times today that dilation and effacment are NOT in ANY way predictors of when labor will begin. They are predictors of how long it'll be until pushing starts and/or can be excellent predictors of how well an induction may go. So, thought I'd pass that on for anyone (like me!) who needed that reminder. Sometimes I need reminders aka reality checks.

@TurtleDoves: Hah seriously--I refuse to obsess over it anymore (or at least, I'm trying not to...). your LO will be here so soon though, whether he comes on his own or whether he needs a little nudge. SO exciting! @hellobeeboston: that's what I"ve heard, that things can literally progress overnight. So we shall see Update after your appt tomorrow!

@mrskc: I'm sorry about your work dilemma. I too am so spent by the end of the day (sometimes even by like 2-3pm) even though I primarily have a desk and phone job. I decided to make Oct 19th my last day. I need to have some alone time before this baby comes. My situation is a little different because I HAVE to go back January 14th due to workplace events and for DH to take his paid paternity leave by then (has to take it within 3 months). I worked it out with HR, so there's a plan in place, so I'm thinking - why push it as long as possible? I'd be torn though if leaving early meant less time with baby. I'm just hoping this baby decides to come one evening after work - how nice would that be????

I'm last on the list! Yikes! I'm going to be going crazy with jealousy as all of your baby updates roll in!
@hellobeeboston: @Beebug: I have an appointment tomorrow too. I have a feeling there hasn't been any progress though. Baby just feels exactly the same as last week, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Baby just feels so comfortable in there. I have a feeling I'm going to go late and have to be induced...
@TurtleDoves: Girl you are so close! So exciting!

@TurtleDoves: Oh do I have an email for you.....

I quote: "I was wondering if it would be alright with you if I pick my "grandpa" name or at least throw it out there for consideration......it's always been a funny thing with you and me.....Dad....FirstName....hey you!....and they've all worked.......but I'm really not warming up to grandpa.....and I've never been a fan of opa, meemaw and all those other names............is "Papa FirstName" taken? (is it crazy that I'm even thinking about this at this point?????)"

    End of email.

....I have never called him Dad in my life, he has signed cards and emails Dad, but the words "Dad" have never, ever come out of my mouth.....

  30. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

I was just reading our old wb messages about our biological fathers..... above is mine....I put "FirstName" where he put his name.

    Really? Ugh. I haven't responded.

I seriously have not even discussed Grandparent names with my own parents, and seriously....there is no where in the near future where rationalizing my messed up family tree to my daughter will happen or make sense to happen for a verrrry long time. I don't want to give her my "daddy" issues, but why can't he not press?

  31. CupQuakeWalk

@Beebug: OOOOOOOOOH MY GOD! NO EFFIN WAY! bahahahhahaha.....omgosh I'm laughing?....my dad would SO DO THIS! I don't even know what my kids will call my dad or if it'll even be a "grandpa-type" name. I seriously hope he doesn't bring it up because it'll be totally awkward.

  32. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@TurtleDoves: I'm laughing too! But at the same time like wtf/seriously/I really have to respond to this!

    *bangs head against wall*

My answer will probably be pretty rude/as it is......

    I'm going to practice

"Re: Grandpa names, well....how about we not worry about that right now? Seeing as she's not here yet, and won't be talking for quite a while and will have Grandparents near and Grandparents far to try to conceptualize I am pretty sure we don't want to confuse her with different names for the different layers of Grandparents in her life....."

    Eh?

    Fail...lol.

Realistically I don't want him to have a Grandpa name. I want my Mom, Step Dad and DH parents, and that's it.

  33. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@mrskc: LOVE that you brought the list forward!!!

@TurtleDoves: @hilsy85: Re: progress....I think Mrs. B was a reminder to us all about progress (or "lack of") and how quickly (in a positive way!) things can and do progress! It's silly that it's really just something to look forward to in terms of weekly update. I am struggling to expect nothing from tomorrow's appt!

@Tidybee: @hellobeeboston: and I for appts tomorrow, woo!

I am torn on who will be next, of course I want it to be ME but realistically it probably won't be, I think there will be two more, and then me....@TurtleDoves:, then someone will go early, and then me, laaaate sometime later next week or something torturous

  34. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Beebug: send whatever you want...just the fact that you're responding shows gut. I would have panicked and ignored it---hehe. And you never know who will go next......I keep stalking this board so I don't miss a thing!

I posted earlier about quiet baby today (almost scary/creepy quiet).

@Tidybee: If I was in your situation I would definitely end on the 19th with a definite start back date. My DH is pushing me to stop on the 19th. He says I should rest. So I'm leaning towards the 19th now. Watch either this baby is going to come before the 19th or be realllllly late. haha Ah well.

    Just a quick update........

Alia is Jaundice so we are currently doing light therepy at home with a light therepy blanket. It;s hard having her hooked to a machine all day. Her blood test today showed a rise in the bilirubin from an 8 to a 13. She goes again in the morning for another test if she has gone up or stayed the same she will be admitted to the nicu for treatment. I've been crazy emotional and just want baby girl healthy. Please cross your fingers that her blood test will come back good tomorrow.

I am so down today. I woke up with a cold sore -does anyone else get them? I have gotten them since I was a kid, and haven't had one in almost two years now, so bummed, WHY now! Their lifespan on me is usually two weeks, so regardless of when baby comes I won't be able to kiss or snuggle her with my face close by...

I get them all over my face, this one is between my nostrils, I am just totally in the dumps about it, head cold wasn't enough, random sickness before that, and now this....can't catch a break

I had a dream last night that baby was super long, and we nicknamed her stretch, random!
