btw -after hearing you ladies talk about painful bf'ing, and seeing my lucie's list email re: breastfeeding, this stuff:
http://well.ca/products/earth-mama-angel-baby-natural_26789.html
was suggested and so I bought it, Thursday....it arrived yesterday (wow, fast!) has anyone else used it? Does it help? Does anyone else receive the Lucie's List emails? Is any of the bf'ing info/lathching info in there helpful? I am guessing LC will be best as they can help in real life....! I think between bf'ing and ppd those are my two biggest worries, but know not to get too nervous anxious and to take things as they come!
Went to hockey game last night, got a great night's sleep (no more stuffed up, woo!) and we'll see what we get up to today, frost on the ground here this am, brrr! Only our second frost.

Congrats @SloaneandPuffy!!! Yay for another girl can't wait to hear how everything went!
@Hilsy85 - I brought the colace with me, but the hospital had them for me.
Delaney was a great sleeper last night... We got up 3 times to feed. Breastfeeding is going better, and we are starting to get the hang of things.
I will say, I was glad we had visitors at the hospital and had a few days to ourselves before visitors came to our house. I had more sleep and had a sort of routine down.
Can't wait to see who's going to be next!!!

@sloaneandpuffy: congrats in your baby girl!!!!
@Beebug: your dog is so cute!!! Love that pic of him resting his (or her) head on your belly!

@BeeBug - I had bought The Lansinoh Lanolin and was using that in the hospital initially. But once I got bruised and had some cracking/bleeding, the hospital gave this prescription strength cream called Jack Newmans ointment. You can only use it for 2 weeks tops and it has a bunch of stuff in it. You do have to wipe it off before BF though.
I haven't heard of Lucie's list... What is it?

@sloaneandpuffy: Congrats on your girl!!! Hope you both are doing well.
@Beebug: Your dog is so cute. My dog would not be calm enough to just lay next to me like that. She is crazy. lol I have the earth mama nip cream. Obviously not BFing yet so I don't know how well it's going to work. I've also heard extracting some of your own breast milk after feeding and rubbing it on your nipples can help. I worry about BFing too. It seems like my hospital has a great lactation center and my doula is available after delivery to help with BFing, so I will definitely seek out help if I need it.

@sloaneandpuffy: yay! congrats!!! can't wait to hear more about her arrival @CarrieLouWho: glad breastfeeding is going well! I'm nervous about it, but also excited--I feel like it will be a really special experience.

@CarrieLouWho: http://www.lucieslist.com/ I saw a link to it on here one time so I joined and she sent out weekly emails as due date approached and was so thorough and detailed (and real/tried and tested) in her emails it seemed/seems and yah, seems pretty good!
So fun today when people ask you "when are you due"
Put a pic on fb of DH and I before we went to downtown festival (where I wanted to eat every baked good within reach!) we had fun! Bit of wet snow/hail out there now, yuck!

I'm thinking I'm in early labor ladies! Having contractions lasting about 60 seconds and 5-7 min apart. Wish me luck!

@mrskc: SO EXCITING!!! Good luck mama, hope everything goes smoothly!
@Beebug: I love lucieslist, her reviews are so funny.

@hilsy85: Thank you!
Of course I go into labor on the night that both DH and I stayed up until 1 am! Usually we're in bed around 10 pm. I was super tired yesterday and slept in late and took an afternoon nap, so hopefully that helped. I only got about 3 hours of sleep. This has taken me by surprise. I thought for sure it was going to be another couple weeks.

@mrskc: Yay good luck! The night I went into labor I told DH that I wanted DD to stay in for 1 more day because I wanted to get some sleep. A few hours later I woke up in labor. Our LO's have an agenda of there own

@mrskc: wahooo!!!! so exciting! Please update us!!! I think our LOs will be exactly one day apart!
@sloaneandpuffy: CONGRATULATIONS! You have a little princess:)
Funny how we go into labor when we're exhausted.....We had a labor scare last night. We decided to attend a friend's party as a last hurrah....and we got home at 3am (very unlike us!) and guess what? Major contractions....but they were 20m apart. I called L&D and told them how painful they were. but of course, they were too far apart to do anything about. They continued at 20m apart until 7:30am!!! Finally I had mercy on DH and told him to just forget about me and get some sleep. I figured if it ever did turn into labor: he'd need some sleep.
I slept too and woke up less contractions:( BUT! Lots of discharge and loooooots of pressure....so I am thinking today may be the day? If not: induction is tomorrow.
October babies rollin' in.....soooooo excited!

@TurtleDoves: YAY Glad you checked in! I was anxious to hear how you were doing!
@mrskc: Eeee!! So exciting!!!
I got 7 hours solid sleep last night, no up to pee, nothing.....so weird!!! DH thinks I'll go before appt Wednesday, I am still thinking I make it to whenever we plan induction, who knows when she will decide to show up, in the meantime I will be envious of you ladies who are going to get their babies so soon!!

@Beebug: have you be getting membrane sweeps? I can't remember.....if so, you might go after your membrane sweep on Wed.
Because I've read A TON of places that membrane sweeps are *significantly* more effective post-your due date. That is what I'm hoping for...to be in spontaneous labor after my sweep on Monday morning and hopefully not have to be induced that Monday night.

@mrskc: good luck!!!! I'm so excited for you to meet your little guy You'll do great!
@sloaneandpuffy: Congratulations!!

@TurtleDoves: Hope today is your day too!! Sounds like things are happening and if not, you have your induction tomorrow! hopefully this all means the induction will go smoothly since it seems your body is getting ready.
I've been timing them the last hour and they're lasting about 60 seconds and ranging from 5-7 minutes a part still. Most of the pain is in my lower back. I've found I need to stand up through them and rocking my hips helps.

@Running Elley: wouldn't it be cool if our babies were exactly a week apart? I hope they are!
coconut / 8681 posts
@mrskc: That definitely sounds right! I hope things progress for you soon- being stuck in early labor limbo isn't fun!
@TurtleDoves: Yes!!! Come on baby doves, we all want to meet you! Make it happen mama
coconut / 8475 posts
@Running Elley: I think all the October mamas will agree that we are in serious need of a "1 week old" picture of Baby Elliot tomorrow.
And that goes for all the Oct. mamas whose babies are rapidly growing day by day (out side the womb hehe)
coconut / 8681 posts
@TurtleDoves: Haha I can definitely agree to a one week shot of E tomorrow and maybe a post partum one too... We'll see lol.
DH goes back to work tomorrow- it'll definitely be a whole new ball game around here!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@TurtleDoves: I have had three, but the one with the doctor when I couldn't see my reg one so does not count now I don't think, it didn't feel like she did much, nor was the after pain anything comparable to my doc!
Will have another Wednesday, which will be my first post-due date, we'll see!!!

@TurtleDoves: it sounds like today could be your day too! And like you said, if not, tomorrow is SO SOON!! yay for october babies! I am definitely very jealous of all you ladies--I am pretty convinced that I will go really late/need to be induced. I'm making an appointment with a massage guy for reflexology this week--apparently he's the go to guy for pregnant women and has sent many people into labor. Here's hoping
I hope you both have easy labors, @Turtledoves and @mrskc! Can't wait to see your beautiful babies

Alia is 1 week old today! Here she is in her first hair bow on her 1 week birthday I'm excited to finally be able to dress her up soon. She is still doing phototherepy and restricted to only wearing a diaper and socks.

Yay @MrsKC and @TurtleDoves! Fingers crossed this is your day!!!
We had a but of a rough night sleeping last night, but I think it's bc she didn't eat enough during the day and was wide awake at night.
Here is Delaney at 1 week I can't wait for all of you to meet your LOs, I just can't get enough of her!
coconut / 8475 posts
@Mrs.B: Too cute! Doesn't she look like she's holding a little cell phone to her ear? Lol she's already being a little lady:) @CarrieLouWho: look at those cheeks:) she is beautiful!
@hilsy: you never know...I dont think "a hunch" means anything (I had a hunch is go early and here I am facing induction!). You-could-go-anyday!!! Eeek;) it's all so absurd. Why is pregnancy so unpredictable? Kinda drives me crazy.
Walking the mall right now with my mom and my hands & feet are swelling up bad...last night was worse..DH was just shocked at the size of my hands. Makes me glad that induction is tomorrow because high BP runs in my family (never me though-yet!)
squash / 13764 posts
@Mrs.B: @CarrieLouWho: so adorable!!! Keep 'em coming
@TurtleDoves: ugh sorry about the swelling--have you been swollen throughout pregnancy or is it just starting now? I hope you're right and I DO go any day, lol--but I'm trying to use reverse psychology on myself What time do you go in for your induction tomorrow?
coconut / 8681 posts
@mrskc: Thinking about you!!
@Mrs.B: Sooooooooooo precious. Her color looks really good!@CarrieLouWho: Those cheeks!! Adorable
coconut / 8475 posts
@hilsy85: no idea...she said to come in at 1PM and get y membranes swept for 3rd & last time and then I would fill out all my paperwork and registration for the hospital and she would call L&D and schedule a slot for me. She told me not to expect anything early & that I'd most likely have the baby by Tuesday not same day. So I think by 2pm tomorrow I'll be registered with my appointment booked! But my husband hopes that final sweep will put me into natural labor. I PRAY it does:)

Ok, the baby pics are like TORTURE!
Adorable.
My hunch of going late has definitely come to life, my parents both said I finally looked healthy and rested today and so I hope that's one step closer to being better (I feel better!) and am even more excited to welcome baby. Their anniversary is the 18th, my bff's wedding is the 20th.....I'll take either day, otherwise induction here we come!
Can't wait to see more baby pics, and have more October babies born.....and eventually....I can join in too!

@TurtleDoves: I was hoping your lack of activity on here yesterday meant you were in labor. In any case, baby will be here before you know it!! Cheering you on!
@mrskc: OMG - surprise of the day! it sounds like the real deal and that you'll be our next October baby! Good luck and can't wait to hear updates!
@CarrieLouWho: @Mrs.B: such cuties!!! I love our october babies!

Alexander was born today oct 14 @ 7:15 pm (ca time) weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and 21.25 inches long. I'm trying to rest but just can't sleep. Little A is sleeping on my chest. I did it completely med-free! I'll post more when I get a chance.

@mrskc: You are amazing! So happy (and beyond envious) your October baby is here! Hope everyone is well, and what exciting news!!
DH and I went to bed suuuuuper early (930 or so) just exhausted. I laid there until 2am wide awake for whatever reason, finally got up, got sleep between 5am and now. Seriously body.....why the torture. I'm ok not sleeping, but give me a baby to keep me busy or something.....!
