@jessiejo17: thanks:) I didn't really think we would need one ecause I bought him a bunting coat but then I'm like "oh well-it'll be fun!"

@jessiejo17: so exciting! @TurtleDoves: the car seat cover is so cute, I am SO not crafty at all so any craftiness is super impressive to me, lol.

Love the car seat cover @TurtleDoves: !

Carseat clinic was okay today. DH and I are too competitive for our own good, and got there striving to be told we installed it perfectly. Well, he looked and said we got it 98% perfect.......

SOMEHOW that landed us there another hour with three different opinions confusing us re: what spot in the backseat is 'best'. Frig, what a go-ahead! The car manual and seat manual said any position was safe in the back, different options (middle, or sides) required different installation of course, but all were acceptable. After reading the manuals, reading government websites and their advice, we decided to go with the middle. Every reason they gave us today to move to the outside was convenience based, not
safety based, and I took issue with that. I will quit ranting. But omg it was beyond frustrating to be in the spot we were and then to drive away exactly as it was when we came after it all. Of course makes you feel like you made the wrong decision and question your decision when there really is no wrong or right, testing and research to prove either choice, and it does come down to preference, sheesh.

Another weekend gone, October is a week away!!!!

Crochet is my project for this week, going to try to teach myself! We will see how that goes, hopefully well!

@BeeBug - we were going to do the middle too, but they told us that since we both have an arm rest that pulls down in the middle it wasn't safe, so to do the side. Bummer that you had such a hassle!

@TurtleDoves - LOVE THE CARSEAT COVER!! Hubby and I met playing soccer... So I might have to steal this idea

@TurtleDoves: Carseat cover is super cute!

I lost a little bit of my Mucus Plug this weekend. I'm not sure what's considered a little or big piece? I think mine was medium sized. DH refused to look at it lol.

I'm planning on getting everything out and ready to go this week and then spend week 38 and 39 relaxing. I'm 37w1d today but I really do not think LO will be here any earlier then after 39 weeks.

@jessiejo17: @TurtleDoves: @Mrs.B: Lost your mucus plugs? What a milestone!! Hopefully it's not going to be too much longer now! @TurtleDoves: So adorable!
@Beebug: We're going with the middle too. Just do what feels right for you!

We went to visit family and bring back the rest of our shower gifts this past weekend. It was SO weird to think the next time we're back, and we see our families, we'll have the baby with us. I definitely got emotional leaving my bedroom for the last time without a crib in it!

I am definitely feeling different today, is anyone else in pain after they pee? It's almost like emptying my bladder is bad? Wow it feels so awful, once it's emptied it just hurts, but after a little while it fades (probably because it's not sitting empty, lol) just started last night, our bodies are doing crazy things!!

@TurtleDoves: What a cute car seat cover!

@Beebug: We're going to put our car seat in the middle too. We're planning to get it installed this week and get it inspected. My DH is convinced he can do it right the first time, so we'll see!

I can't believe how close some of you are! It's crazy to think anyone of us could go into labor. I bought the last of our baby supplies over the weekend and picked up postpartum supplies for myself as well. DH put the stroller together and I had fun wheeling it around the house. Plan for this week is packing hospital bag and putting together all the baby gear.

Oh and "More Business of Being Born" is available on Netflix instant stream. I've watched the first 3 of 4 episodes. Very interesting.

@Beebug: I've never felt pain after peeing. It's only after? Maybe you have a UTI?

  12. Mrs.B

    clementine / 961 posts

@Beebug: Maybe it's a UTI that's causing the pain. My OB checks for them at every visit since they are so common during pregnancy.

  13. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Mrs.B: I read in a few places that a mucus plug as a whole piece is about the size of a ping-pong ball? So far, if I add up how much I've lost in the last 3 days it's probably the size of a cherry so I'm assuming i'll see more soon.
@Beebug: not tos care you but maybe it is an annoying UTI....I've had one (this last winter) and it sounds like what you're describing. Not fun.

I am miserable today. I am finding stretch marks and rashes and all sorts of stuff in places I can't even see! DH points them out and I'm like.."where did that COME from?!" So, last night I cried a bit....I see my doctor tomorrow and let me tell you ladies something:
I damn-well better have dilated or effaced some more because I am VERY ready to get this show on the road. I am not enjoying pregnancy and will probably be a miserable person until baby arrives. Thank goodness it will only be 18 days until EDD.
Until then, sex, pineapples, and walking: REPEAT!

How exciting that people have lost parts of mucus plug!! That's a huge milestone! I feel like I'm TTC again, obsessively checking every time I go to the bathroom. Buttttt nothing here. I don't even think baby has dropped because my heartburn has been worse than ever the past few days

This week is my last week of work so I'm just trying to hold out until Friday and hoping for good news at my appt tomorrow!

@TurtleDoves: Like I said in your other post, I am right there with you! Last night I was SO uncomfortable--baby was crushing my lungs and I kept burping up painful stomach acid My allergies have also blown up yesterday/today so I am so out of it and my throat is killing me. Waahh

It's DH's and my 2 year anniversary today and we're supposed to go out to dinner, but I don't even feel like getting dressed up/prettified. I just want to crawl into bed!

  17. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Running Elley: maybe baby is just tall/long. I still have heartburn now and again and DR. said my baby dropped awhile ago and is very low. Yet I feel his bum-bum in my ribs. So I am guessing he's tall:)
@hilsy85: I know; I think things start to get reeeeeal sticky towards these last few weeks of pregnancy. I might have jinxed myself when I kept telling people "I feel great!" at the beginning. Regarding getting dressed up: I totally get you. Maybe you can go casual. I'm sure once people see you at 9m pregnant, they'll forgive. Just enjoy your night! It may be your last date night in awhile.

  18. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@hilsy85: That was me last night too! Really bad heartburn/stomach acid before bed which I finally got to settle down after I drank some milk but then woke up to it even worse at around midnight. That didn't settle down until 3. Ugh!

@TurtleDoves: I'm hoping that's what it is! DH is 6'5" sooooo a tall baby wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility

  19. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

It doesn't feel like UTI pain! I will mention it tomorrow at the doc's though, it literally feels like pain from it being empty and pressed on, lol.....like empty pain? Not "sick"/something's wrong pain, haha. Thank-you for the mention of UTI though, I will definitely mention it!

    @hilsy85: Happy Anniversary!!!

How long did everyone date their DH before they got married?! We were married just one year in July, and our 4-year dating anniversary is Valentine's Day (cheeeeesy!) we went on a 4pm date on Vday, and neither of us even clued in it was Vday until we told other people "we had a date Saturday" which was Feb 14th, ha! Clearly unimportant question, lol just being curious!!

@TurtleDoves: what time is appt tomorrow? I go for 1:45! I am sorry you had a bit of a cry, I won't lie, I am definitely a little over not being able to see certain parts of myself anymore too! LOL to sex, pineapples and walking! Aside from the sweep tomorrow I am holding off on anything "labour inducing" until Monday next week.....of course when DH is back from his trip.....!! I might buy a whole lot of pineapples, the one I had over the weekend was so yummy.

Couch time for me this afternoon, had a semi-busy morning, and now for some lazy time. I gardened this morning and it's so silly everytime I do something I am like "wonder if this is the last time I will do this without a baby" ha!

@Running Elley: I haven't lost any of my plug either. I'm curious as to what it looks like. I'm so jealous this is your last week of work. I'm so done with work, but have to push through so I have more time after baby is here. I thought I had only 4 weeks until my due date and was disappointed when I looked at the calendar this morning and I have 5 work weeks left until my due date. Is it sad that I kind of want baby to come a little early, so I can be done with work?

I've finally been hit with the heartburn in the last week. It's the worst when I lay down to go to bed. I forgot to take a couple tums before bed the other night. I must have been moaning in my sleep b/c my DH startled me awake asking if I was ok. Then I realized my throat was burning! lol I told him it was just heartburn.

@TurtleDoves: I am hoping the same thing in that case! I have a dr's appointment tomorrow and I'm going to tell her that I've been cramping and feeling more pressure down below (which is true) in the hopes that she'll do an internal!

@Beebug: Thanks We had our 3 year dating anniversary in July 2010 and got married Sept. 2010.

I am 5'9'' and DH is barely 5'11'', it will be interesting to see how tall our kids are! My Mom is just over 6ft, my sister 6'2'', DHs Dad is over 6ft, we are bad for joking what sports our kids will be best at.....here's hoping they want to be sporty, but if not....I can be pretty passionate about anything if someone I know is into it, lol.

@Beebug: DH and I celebrated our 2 year dating anniversary 2 weeks before our wedding. We've been together a total of 3.5 years I have an appt tomorrow at 9:15am! Can't wait to hear all of the appt updates!

@mrskc: I really feel for you I definitely couldn't make it until my due date...especially if I had a commute like yours! I can't even imagine! Regarding the heartburn, seriously the only thing I've found that helps is drinking some cold milk. My heartburn calms down almost right away afterwards!

@Beebug: Mine is at 2:00pm So, we'll be back here reporting at the same time pretty much! I am asking for a sweep tomorrow. Actually, I'm going to whine until she either gives me one or until she kicks me out:)

Have you ladies been experiencing swollen ankles? Mine get pretty bad by the end of the day, but look normal by the morning. I also feel so out of shape. I can barely walk for an hour and my feet feel like they walked a marathon.

  34. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@mrskc: Are you in good shoes all the time?

My doc said to always be in my running shoes, even around the house (I am usually barefoot!!) to help my feet and the pain. It has much such a difference with sore feet, and swelling, so it's something I've stuck too.....so much as it's a pain getting socks and shoes on/off!

  35. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Beebug: Yeah, wearing my running shoes would probably help a lot. It's still summer where I'm at so I've been wearing slip on flats and sandals. I'm just going to have to start wearing shoes with more support. It's so annoying putting on socks and shoes though!

  36. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

I never could have imagine how much of a marathon it is to put socks on....holy moly!

  37. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@mrskc: yes, maybe not my ankles but my toes for sure. I'll be fine in the morning but come late afternoon and they are huge. Shoes don't fit correctly anymore after that happens:/
@Beebug: LOL! Yepp, you said it. Darn those socks...

  38. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrskc: no swelling, but the bottoms of my feet are pretty painful/bruised feeling in the mornings. Wearing slippers around the house does help with that.

  39. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@mrskc: No swelling for me...which I'm honestly completely shocked about. At least not in my feet! My fingers get pretty swollen

@Beebug: I think I win... we dated for 5 years before we got engaged (got engaged on our 5 year dating anniversary), then had about a 10 month engagement, and married 3 years this past october - so we've been together about 9 years!

@mrskc: my ankles aren't too bad - slightly swelled, but my feet are definitely larger/swollen. Can't fit into a bunch of shoes!

@TurtleDoves: my toes are pretty bad too, they look like little sausages or something...

my new weird thing - my nose is looking slightly swollen! I guess it's normal... I feel like I have the weirdest pregnancy side effects, I don't have the normal ones!

i've also been feeling more pains down low. like cramping feelings occasionally, walking i sometimes have to stop from a sharp pain, and I had really tough BH contractions two nights ago! I guess he's just starting to move down hence all of the added pressure/pain!
