@however briefly: This calendar is seriously awesome!!! So excited to see my EDD!
I went to a walk in clinic to get some betas done. Urine was faintly positive, but I am only 10 DPO. I should get my betas tomorrow and will follow up on Sunday for repeats. Double, little baby!!

@Mrs.Panda: I am the type of person who likes to keep my hands busy while talking on the phone so when I was on a conference call with DH and our realtor earlier, I created the calendar. It only took me about five minutes to do so I figure it's not a big deal to keep updated as we go along.
What does everyone think? Keep the calendar or go back to using just the text list? I promise my feelings won't be hurt if you guys want to ditch it
@Mrs tartan: I have no idea if we'll get an ultrasound pic! I'm hoping that I can at least get a cellphone pic of the screen but we'll see! I'm so excited!

@cyndistar3: yay! Another person on baby#3! How old are your other children? I have a 13 year old daughter, and an 18-month old son. (Yes, huge time in between...I was only 19 when I had my daughter, and it was in a previous relationship.)
@however briefly: love the calendar!
Oh, and I never posted a pic, so here's one of my little guy "pond skating" for the first time.

Hey Everyone!
Sorry for the lack of responses it's been a crazy couple of weeks. I went to my appointment on the 4th (which was to discuss other issues), and the doctor was very concerned about an eptopic pregnancy. So he made me to some bloodwork, urine test and set up an emergency ultrasound . We went to the ultrasound at the hospital and the technician couldn't tell me anything. I wasn't allowed to have DH in the room, nor was I able to ask questions or take a picture. (I was hoping to come out with something to show him). She asked me a lot of questions and kept telling me to take it easy when I left and that the Dr would have the results in the next 20 mins and I should go back there. She also suggested I get more bloodwork. So of course I think the worse, head out expecting to hear bad news . After another hour waiting I finally see my Dr, luckily everything was okay. No heartbeat yet but the embryo is the right size, and in the right place! Yay!!
But of course he didn't get all of the test done so I has to go back for more bloodwork, then every 2 days for a week. Gotta live being a human pincushion! Anyways, my values seems to be normal and doubling as they should. I have one more ultrasound Saturday and if that's is okay I should be in the clear. Since this is my first baby is been pretty overwhelming .
@howeverbriefly love the calendar!

Hi everyone, just got a BFP yesterday and it's still sinking in...
EDD: October 14, 2014
When Did You Find Out?: yesterday, but I had a feeling for a few days prior.
Child Number: 2
Where You Live: Chattanooga, TN
What kind of provider will you see?: midwife. I had an unwanted C-section with DD so am hoping for a VBAC
When's Your First Appointment?: going to call this morning
What kind of birth do you want?: unmedicated, vaginal
What You're Most Excited For: meeting baby and for DD to be a big sister
What You're Most Scared About: money, where we are going to living (planning on putting our house on the market in spring), how I could love another kid, not wanting anything to be taken away from DD (time, etc.), how DD is going to react, having to have another C-section
Symptoms so far: a little nausea and very tired (but my DD doesn't sleep through the night!)
Oh, I have a pic over on the Feb POAS board

Also, I would like to request that we have no more estimated due dates of the 14th girls. If anyone needs to change theirs to the 14th, I am vetoing that and saying you are due the 13th. Just saying

@LulaBee: Hi! Welcome!
@Mirage: What a horrible experience! I hope everything goes up from here for you!
@Mrs.Panda: I hope your betas double nicely for you
@mrskoloa: It doesn't matter if you're at the end of September because you are ours now and we're not letting you go.
apricot / 435 posts
@however briefly: Thanks for doing the calendar! And don't worry about the 14th- I'm not entirely sure that the 14th will remain my due date, as I'm pretty sure I ovulated late... but we'll see what my OB says!

EDD: 10/5/2014 (going by LMP)
When Did You Find Out?: 2/1/14
Child Number: 1
Where You Live: Brooklyn, NY
What kind of provider will you see?: OB
When's Your First Appointment?: 2/28 (soo far away)
What kind of birth do you want?: Hospital birth, one that results in healthy baby and mom, preferably avoid c-section.
What You're Most Excited For: Telling my parents this weekend, first ultrasound, finding out the gender, buying cute stuff for baby!
What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage, chemical pregnancy (I think I've had 2 in the last 6 months), figuring out where to live (we're currently in a 2-family house with my in-laws, but space is very limited and the commute is terrible).
Symptoms so far: On and off fatigue, slightly tender breasts, diarrhea during week 5 (sorry TMI!), constant queasiness starting week 6 (ugh).
Post a picture... any picture! Sorry, on hubby's ipad so no pictures right now.

@however briefly: did the scan happen today? How many babies??? I'm so excited to find out if you are getting two!
@Jasmine Green: welcome and congratulations! How long we're you ttc? What is your and DH ages?
coffee bean / 28 posts
@Mrs Tartan: thank you! we stopped preventing in Aug 2013, but really started ttc in November, so altogether about 6 months. I'm 33 and DH is turning 34 in a few days. This will be the first grandchild for both our parents so we're super excited to tell them. Only my DH and in-laws know right now, so it's really nice to be able to say (even online) that I'm pregnant.
kiwi / 656 posts
@Jasmine Green: my first midwife appointment was last tues and if felt do weird to say out loud "I am pregnant". So I know how you feel. We are also telling my parents this weekend. How many weeks are you? I think I am 7 weeks 3 days, our first u/s won't be until week 12 but I cannot wait that long to tell them!
Is anyone noticing body changes? I know it's impossible for my blueberry sized baby to cause me to have a bump but I am so bloated that my belly is actually round and it doesn't go away! Noone but DH and i notice of course, but it does feel different! Boobs are still not sore, gutted. I think they will stay small forever
coffee bean / 28 posts
@Mrs Tartan: I think I'm 6w5d, going by online calculators. I originally wanted to wait until the first dr's appointment to confirm before telling the parents, but it was hard enough during the all the ttc and tww, then the thought of keeping the secret for another 4 weeks until the appointment is just impossible.
I've read that bigger boobs could come in after giving birth, so don't despair! Mine aren't any bigger either and are only the teeniest sore up top. But I am very bloated so it's making my potbelly even more round and taut. I'm thankful that I haven't thrown up, but the burping and nausea are pretty bad.
I'm so excited to be here with other Autumn mommies going through the same things!
coffee bean / 28 posts
Do you guys know if it's customary to wait until your 8th week or so for a first ob appointment? I've used 3 at home tests just to make sure, but it still doesn't feel real to me until I see a doctor, so maybe I'm just too impatient....
coffee bean / 28 posts
@Mrs Tartan: Can I ask how you plan on telling your parents this weekend? With my in-laws we just told them over dinner last week but I wanted to wait to tell my parents in person. So I've been racking my brain trying to think of cute ways to announce but nothing... hahah.
nectarine / 2358 posts
@however briefly: Thank you for doing this awesome calendar and for the well wishes! My betas came back at 18 and I go back the 16th for doubling. Right on track for 3-4 weeks!
kiwi / 656 posts
@Jasmine Green: look at page 8 of this convo, you will see I uploaded a pic of the tshirt we are putting on my chihuahua I think my parents will figure it out.
Yes 8 weeks totally normal, my midwife splits my first appointment into two half hours rather than the usual 1 hour, so I had my first half hour at 7 weeks just chatting and I'm next due in on tues when ill be 8 weeks for blood and urine tests. I was surprised too that noone wanted to see me for 4 weeks after my BFP!
Let me know how you decide to tell your parents. I think if we didn't have my dog to tell them I would have printed a baby grow or a valentines card to granny and grandad.

@Mrs.Panda: wonderful news on your numbers, hope you feel more at ease now?

@Mrs tartan: Yes a bit now to make sure they double! I should know by Monday

@Mrs.Panda: That's such great news, congrats!
@Mrs Tartan: Love that shirt! Hope you'll post a pic of your doggie in it. At this point, I might just get my mom some flowers for a late V-day present and address it to grandma. Wish I could do the bun in the oven announcement, but since English isn't their first language, I think they'll just be really confused, haha.
I just called the OB office to ask what to expect at the first appointment and was told it would be only half an hour but that the Dr will do an ultrasound so I'm happy about that. Sigh, I'm just going to blame the hormones for all this anxiety.
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Mrs tartan: @Jasmine Green: Yes I have my appointment on March 4th with one doctor then I am switching to another one on March 13th. I was surprised they want to wait that long!

We have ONE baby!!!! Ultrasound confirmed today the presence of just one baby (sorry no pics though... she is mailing the hard copies to me tomorrow though so once I get them I'll scan and post). I am mostly just relieved it's not twins, tbh. I was starting to really panic the more I thought about it and now it's like a weight off my shoulders. We have another ultrasound scheduled for 8 weeks and then the RE will be releasing her to an ob/gyn or whatever my sister ends up choosing. I still have no idea.
DH and I spent three hours this evening making an announcement video to give the soon-to-be grandparents this weekend. We made it so that it could be used as a general announcement to all family and friends at 12 weeks as well although now DH is wanting to make something a bit more complicated when it comes time. We shall see. This one turned out pretty cool if I say so myself Here's the link: https://vimeo.com/86742598 the password is 2014 and since the video has personal information, the link will only be valid for a day or so before I delete it so if you wanna check it out, do it quickly!
I'll update the lists with everyone's new information tomorrow. I've been staring at my computer screen putting that video together for a little too long tonight! Need to get up and move around now.
@Jasmine Green: Congratulations

@however briefly: Congratulations on the one baby! That is such a cute video and the song is so fitting!

Is anyone else losing their minds? I am so forgetful right now, leaving things everywhere or walking in a room and completely forgetting why (more than usual). Not a good thing when you're a nurse!

@Mrs.Panda: I posted a link last week about baby brain in pregnancy. It seems it really common, go have a look at the board, some of the stories are really funny.
@however briefly: aww congratulations honey, I'm super happy for you and 1 baby. Amazing news. Your video is fab!
@Mirage: I did for 4 days from 6 wks 4 to 7 wks 1 Nd now it's starting to fade back to just waves of it rather than all day. Thank god, I was super struggling at work!

Has anyone talked to their doctor about possibly getting cell-free fetal DNA testing done? I think we're going to see if it's an option for us if we can. Finding out the sex early is a very cool bonus as well!
@Jasmine Green: @Mirage: @Mrs tartan: Thanks! I had fun making it!
pomegranate / 3791 posts
@however briefly: We didn't get any extra testing done last time, so I don't think we will. And I'm skeptical about the gender results it gives, I've heard too many cases where it says girl and it turns out to be a boy, the test just didn't happen to pick up the Y chromosome. Plus I've heard you can get a false boy result if you've recently given birth to a boy, and I have a 9 month old son.
kiwi / 656 posts
@however briefly: no extra testing for us either, a scan at week 12 and 20 and some blood draws from me this week. Other than that we are au natural. I don't think we will find out the gender at all, trying to stay team yellow the whole way through.
