    @Tidybee: devastated for you. I'm so sorry you are going through this, but glad your DH was with you. Thoughts will be with you on Thursday. I know it will probably be hard for you to check in with us after but please let us know when you get your sticky bean. Good luck honey and take care xxx

    @mrskoloa: haven't heard from you in a while in here. Are you ok? Your sickness getting any better?

    Yes, for those of you with sharp eyes, we have two ultrasounds scheduled just three days apart. There's nothing wrong, just the RE wants one done at 8 weeks before releasing us and the midwife center my sister has chosen requires one at 8 weeks (for dating I think?) and so this is what is happening. Kinda silly but oh well.

    Please let me know if I've missed any appointments or if I've missed anyone who is team green for the calendar. I THINK I've got everything but I did it while watching Ender's Game and so it was very start and stop and not very organized

    I've also, sadly, removed tidybee from the calendar but am still secretly hoping that there will be a little miracle and everything will turn out okay and she will be joining us again.

    @Mrs tartan: Hello! Thanks for checking in.

    My sickness is up and down. Some days it will be barely there, then other days I'm completely incapacitated. I'm still off of my prenatal, which I'm sure my doctor will have a lot to say about at my appointment on Thursday. I feel better than I did when I was taking the vitamin, but some days I'm just sick. Today I'm sick. I'm carting around a gallon ziplock of soda crackers. Blah.

    Also, I've noticed I've been experiencing constipation... anyone else? I tried treating with Milk of Magnesia, and had success one time, but two other times I was up all night cramping and gassy and in a ton of pain and discomfort.

    I told my mom about the pregnancy but I haven't told my dad yet. I'm waiting until we hear the heartbeat on Thursday. She's keeping it a secret hopefully.

    In addition, my husband seems to be coming around to the idea that we will be having a baby. We were buying cups for the new house, and he requested that we purchase acrylic instead of glassware, because we are going to have "a little person" in the house soon. Luckily, Costco had a gorgeous selection of cups. If only we could find bar stools that easily!

    Anyways, I'm just not that excited about being pregnant at all, and I think it's because I don't physically feel good, so it's hard to be stoked on it all the time. Maybe if this sickness ever goes away...

    @Tidybee: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you get your sticky baby soon

    @however briefly: I'm glad telling the ILs went better! Wishing your DH a speedy recovery. And mine is the same way with shooting down my name suggestions but not really having any of his own.

    @mrskoloa: Want to know a secret? I stopped taking prenatals during like week 5 of my last pregnancy and never started again. I'm pretty sure I lied to my midwife about it, but I was SO sick and just couldn't handle it being worse than it already was. My LO was absolutely fine despite this - I went into labor exactly on my due date, and he was a perfect weight and passed all the tests with flying colors. And I understand about it being hard to get excited when you're so sick, it's really tough. Hang in there!

    Betas came back today! They went from 18 on Thursday to 89.3 on Sunday! Woo! That puts it at like a 30 hour double time if you take the times I went in into consideration.

    ETA still cramping, but they are mild. Lower backache as well and feeling so gassy and constipated!

    @however briefly: I don't think I ever mentioned my first appointment date - it's 3/10; unsure if there'll be an u/s or not. can't decide if I want to be the crazy preggo lady that demands an early u/s after checking with insurance for coverage or the one that just goes with the flow. Lol. At this point, we are Team Green. I was Team Green with my previous two pregnancies, so we'll prob go that route again. I'm totally leaving it up to my husband...he needed some major convincing with the last one.

    @Mrs.Panda: I don't know much about betas and stuff, but that's really good, isn't it? If so, hooray! And I know how anxiety-producing cramping can be- I've been having the same kind of occasional cramping as well... even though everything I've read tells me it's totally normal, it's still freaky!

    @mrskoloa: Sorry you're feeling sick! I've been feeling stopped up as well, and I've gone through almost half of a Costco bag of prunes in an effort to get things moving! I think that oatmeal and prunes are working ok for me now, but I hate to think of what's going to happen now that my morning sickness is really ramping up, I am afraid I won't be able to stomach that stuff anymore, and I'll be in some real trouble!

    @cyndistar3: Such a cute photo!!

    @mrskoloa: I'm sorry you are feeling rubbish, I know it can be hard to feel excited when nothing interesting is happening on the outside and you feel rubbish. I go through days where I lie in the bathroom at work and other days where I forget I'm pregnant. My midwife just said eat whatever you can in the first tri, even if its only sour sweeties for 3 months. Do what you can to get through. Morning seems to be my best time so I try and cram toast in before work, in the evening I just want to puke and be left alone. Poor DH. What's your app for tomorrow? Are you getting u/s or just booking in?
    @Mrs.Panda: yay, congrats honey they sound like great numbers!
    @cyndistar3: your announcement is gorgeous! Who all knows?

    OK, my beta was 1,082 on Monday but my progesterone was low. I'm starting progesterone supplements today so I'm jumping in.

    EDD: I think it's October 19 but I won't get an exact one till March 10

    When Did You Find Out?: Friday, February 7
    Drama = me

    @mrskoloa: I'm sorry you're feeling so yucky. I hear you on the constipation issue, it's definitely no fun. I haven't tried taking anything because nothing seemed to help during my last pregnancy either. Well, maybe coffee but I can't have too much of that. For what it's worth, my sister never took prenatals with her kids either and they are all (5) just fine

    @cyndistar3: what a great announcement!

    @swedishfish: yay! Those sound like great numbers!

    @tidybee: so sorry to read about the sad news - hoping your procedure goes smoothly and you get a sticky bean soon.

    @howeverbriefly: so glad your ILs were more excited at your announcement. I'm sure your parents will come around once they have a little one to dangle on their knee.

    @mrskoloa: I've also started all day sickness, gas and constipation - a pretty killjoy feeling. I'm just praying I won't be one of the unlucky ones who is sick for their entire pregnancy.

    I've found that sweet-sour things like tangerines, oranges, ketchup, sour jelly bellies help the most. Also peppermint altoids on my commute so that I'm not the crazy lady eating fruit for an hour on the train. Unfortunately ginger ale just gives me more gas and crackers don't do anything for me. I haven't tried anything for constipation yet - might have to get prune juice this weekend.

    Anyone else breaking out like crazy? I feel like I'm perpetually stuck in the week before my period comes-ugh. Please share any good skin care products/tips!

    nectarine / 2358 posts

    @Jasmine Green: I am lucky to have pretty good skin but I have had a couple of spots pop up. I am just going to up my skincare to an exfoliating cleanser in the evenings and a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil in the mornings. I like Burt's Bees.

  20. cyndistar3

    pomegranate / 3980 posts

    @Mrs tartan: thank you, I was surprised at how it turned out since Lilly wasn't cooperating very well. Now basically everyone knows because we told a few of our closer friends and family and some people said things out loud so we just announced it to the world basically

    @bushelandapeck: thank you

  21. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

    @Jasmine Green: me me me! I have bad skin whenever I'm pregnant though, so this isn't new. Annoying, but not new. I found Cetaphil helps a lot, as does making sure I wash my face at night before bed and in the shower every morning. I got it bad on my back with LO, and I am so hoping it doesn't happen this time. Yuck!

  22. Jasmine Green

    coffee bean / 28 posts

    @bushelandapeck: @mrs panda: i've had problematic skin since puberty and i've finally been able to keep my adult acne in check with gentle cleansers, etc. but now that the pregnancy hormones are going crazy, so is my skin again. i've been using clinique's take the day off balm for make-up removal and then REN's clay cleanser, but what worked previously is no longer working now. i think i need an even more gentler cleanser but unfortunately cetaphil never let me feel clean in the past, so i'll have to browse some more. sadly i'm noticing some breakouts on my chest and upper back already, sigh!

    @cyndistar3: That is an adorable announcement!!

    @Jasmine Green: YES! That was one of my major indicators to take a pregnancy test! I rarely break out, and I've had quite a few little monsters show up. The latest is on my chest. Awesome.

    My EDD is 10/3 according to my LMP, which was my only since having a baby and breastfeeding. So I'm not sure if that date will change.

    I am frequently hungry, but nothing sounds appealing. I am managing lots of snacks of fruit or nuts to keep me going throughout the day. The bloating is out of control this time around. I look hugely pregnant by the evening and I am already wearing my yoga pants as low slung as possible. I was hoping to keep the m
    aternity clothes packed away a bit longer but it's looking like I am going to have to bust out some maternity jeans soon just to get through the day.

  26. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

    @Jasmine Green: You know, I used to use just plain Dove bar soap. It really made my skin look great. And for exfoliation I would just use that St. Ive's Apricot Scrub. Back to middle school basics!

    @hotpink: I'm hungry a lot, but no nausea yet! I'm only 4w2d though so I'm sure the nausea will set in next week or the week after. Until then, yummm. Oh and the bloat is crazy. The struggle is real.

    Thanks everyone! I am touched by your kind words. No miracle @howeverbriefly, although that was such a sweet thought. My betas are still ridiculously high and increasing but two very thorough ultrasounds showed nothing hiding anywhere except for the empty sac. I'm really doing okay today. I'll have the D&C tomorrow and the doc said it should help with the pregnancy symptoms I'm having due to the hcg (nausea, fatigue, sore boobs) I'm a little nervous but ready to heal and move on and meet a healthy LO#2 when it's time. All of you, please be well! Hugs!

    You all — I'm sorry I've been so absent! Really not feeling well and Lucy's cutting her molars and fighting naps. Barely making it through the day, so I may not be around here too much (super behind on blogging too). Hoping she cuts those teeth soon and that I get my energy back and feel better. Until then I'll peak in but I may not be up on all the convos.

    Hope you all continue to do well and those that are not feeling well bet better soon!

    can I join you October ladies?!!? I got my bfp last night (total shock, totally though I was out as I never got a positive on opk)
    LMP was Jan 29th (my bday) so estimated due date is Nov 5th I think, but we shall see. I phoned and left my gp a message last night. Not sure what her practice is (this is our first), but I am a teacher and 5ths is going around so I want to get tested. Confident I have been exposed as I have been teaching for 8 years, but just to me on the safe side.
    Still in shock, hopeful, but realistic. DH walked into the kitchen this morning, gave me a big kiss and said "my wife is glowing" I said "no, I just didnt sleep so that is tired!"

    @Mrs. Deer: feel better, keep us updated at important times.

    Funnily enough my skin is the best it has been in about 15 years! I would say lucky me, but I've had pretty sucky skin apart from te past 2 months so not so lucky!

    @MrsScottish: welcome! I had opk in my amazon cart ready to purchase when i got my bfp- so glad i didn't have to take daily tests. the announcement picture is adorable!

    @mrs tartan: i had hoped being pregnant would finally let me have great skin, but no such luck... maybe i'll get to experience it in the 2nd trimester.

    today my nausea is not bad at all- i've discovered that i cannot have eggs or cheese first thing in the morning. i also conveniently forgot to take my prenatal vitamin last night, so maybe that's it too. going to take my pills now, so fingers crossed that they won't make me sick.

    do you guys have any food cravings/aversions?

    @Jasmine Green: I have to eat constantly to keep nausea at bay, literally from 8am to 8am every 15 mins I will put something in my mouth even if its just a sucky sweetie or a bite of a banana. Then 8pm I am asleep until 8am. Haha. I can't believe I will be 9 weeks on Monday, it has just flown by! My only craving is honey and the only aversion I've had was the smell of a steak in the fridge. It made me gag! What about you?
