@however briefly: very good point, if she is unreasonable I might have to summon some good ol pregnant lady tears! Lol

@however briefly: We're also planning to get the NT scan done in a couple weeks. We've already begun to tell some family about the pregnancy, though. Both of our parents know and some of our siblings...not all yet though. I've also told a couple coworkers that I am quite close with, as well. It helps to have a few at work in the know, lol.
@LulaBee: So sorry to hear this is happening. I imagine the uncertainty is the hardest part. I hope you get some answers soon, but in the meantime, I'll be sending warm thoughts your way.
So I've been feeling icky for the majority of the day today...I'm hoping it's pregnancy-related and not some sort of sickness. I had one student absent yesterday and three absent today, so that makes me a little nervous. I also had to get the flu shot at my appointment yesterday, so I'm hoping it's not a side effect from that. Oh, and I got a call from my dr.'s office - I guess they forgot to put in two of my labs, and they want me to go back sometime this week. wah. I don't know when I will have time for that! I know I can't tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get out of work early enough on Thursday or Friday to get to the lab by 4pm.

@however briefly: that's good advice, ill keep that in mind when I'm feeling alone, that perhaps they are just lettin me become a mom. I'm sure once you start seeing u/s pics and videos you will connect to this baby. I would probably pay for a 4d scan at 24/26 weeks so you can see all of his/her little features on a DVD. Also once you find out the gender I'm sure that will help. It doesn't sound callous at all, I totally understand.
@bunnylovesbear: thank you for reminding me I have to schedule my flu shot tomorrow, I forget all the time!

@however briefly: I don't think you're being callous at all. I can totally see how this would be a different situation for you. I think, so long as SM is okay with it, I would go ahead and tell people whenever you are comfortable. I really do appreciate your perspective in all of this, it's so interesting!
@bunnylovesbear: I hope you feel better! Bummer about the additional blood work. I think they took 6 vials at my appointment last week!
Still feeling lousy over here at 10 weeks. I've thrown up several times this week and am just feeling worn out. I was able to find the heartbeat yesterday on the doppler though, which was wonderful We have officially made it farther than when I found out about my miscarriage last time. Woohoo!

@bushelandapeck: I think they took 7 at my appointment on Monday! I don't know what else there is to test! lol

@bunnylovesbear: ugh! Do we have more blood testing at the NT Scan? I can't remember. And when is the glucose test? I feel like I've forgotten everything! lol.

Sorry to have been MIA ladies, unfortunately nausea has hit me hard at 7 weeks, ugh! I'm still spotting every day which is unsettling but we had our official first consult yesterday at the OB and got to both see the baby and hear the heart beat! It was strong at 176 but I was measuring 6 days behind if you go by LMP and 3 days behind if you go by my O date. The good news is the embryo doubled in size from my last u/s on Friday so we are very hopeful. Bec of my miscarriage history and spotting my OB wants to monitor me a little more closely which really makes me feel a lot better - I would have gone nuts waiting 3 weeks for my next u/s!
@however briefly: My new EDD is Halloween 10/31! And my appts are 3/21 u/s and 4/4 u/s - thank you!!!

@however briefly: I too find your journey pretty fascinating and love hearing how you're feeling about it! I don't think it's callous to feel that way and I would imagine most would in your shoes! When is your big move back from the UK? Also, I love that we have a busy thread
I'm not sure that we'll wait for the NT scan to announce to extended family etc. However, I'm on the fence as to whether to announce on social media at all or perhaps not until 20 weeks...
@bunnylovesbear: hope you didn't get sick and are feeling better!
@bushelandapeck: yay!!! That is a wonderful milestone!!!!

@bushelandapeck: Sorry to hear you are still feeling lousy, the first trimester really isn't much fun at all but yay for hearing the heartbeat, that's always a great sound

@cmbknyc: yay for you hearing heartbeat and seeing baby!
Is anyone else starting to feel better? I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the first trimester tunnel, no longer throwing up, managing now to go about 3 hours without eating and not feel nauseous, and although I'm still tired I am managing to stay awake until about 10pm, huge difference from 8pm last week. I'm 11 weeks 3 days today. There is an end in sight girls!
I hope this isn't just a good couple of days.

Went to the doctor today, seems like my depression is sneaking back so I've been prescribed prozac... But they are getting me an appointment to get an ultrasound so it will be either this Monday or next Monday so dh can come with me

Another EDD change! On Monday I started bleeding bright red blood so I went to the ER based on the on-call OB nurse's suggestion. They did an u/s and everything was fine, they didn't see a hemorrhage and the baby was measuring on track with what the first OB said (6w4d at this point). I've been spotting since, but I'm hoping it's just the hemorrhage leaking out and resolving. Went to my new OB and he measured me at 7w5d today! And no sign of hemorrhage. I was pretty surprised that he measured me so far along. So now my EDD is 10/25. What the confusing.

@cyndistar3: I hope that the medication will do the trick to get you feeling like yourself again!

@Mrs.Panda: That must be so scary So many changes! Hopefully it stays the same from now on
And thank you, I really hope it helps.

@cmbknyc: thank you! We won't announce on doula media until we find out the sex. So, probably early May?
@Mrs tartan: so glad to hear you're feeling better! Today, I am, but tomorrow might be a different story I'm so glad there are only a few more weeks of this first trimester nonsense.
@cyndistar3: I'm so glad you caught the signs early and that your doctor is working with you. I hope the medication helps. I've had depression in the past and it's always something I'm on the lookout for in myself.
@Mrs.Panda: yikes! I'm glad things are okay but the bleeding must be so scary!

@bushelandapeck: So as it turns out, they DIDN'T need to draw additional bloodwork. I rushed out of school as quickly as possible today, so I could get to the lab at a reasonable time. (didn't want to be *that* person that shows up 10 mins before closing...lol.) Anyways, I get down there, the nurse makes a joke about me missing her (since I was JUST there two days ago). She calls the lab where they sent my vials from Monday, adds the "forgotten tests" to the queue, and tells me I'm all set. Kinda frustrating that I made the 25 min ride for nothing...seems like it was something my dr.'s office should have figured out without inconveniencing me. oh well.
While I was at the lab, I stopped by the dr.'s office to confirm my NT scan. So that's officially scheduled for 4/1. I was hoping for a 3:15 appointment (their last of the day) but that was already booked, so I'm gonna have to leave work early - which is always tough as a teacher. I'm hoping my principal will find me coverage for the last 45 mins of the day, so I don't have to take the whole day off.
Oh, and I can't remember if the NT scan includes bloodwork. I don't think so...they told me to go to the ultrasound office, so I think that's all it consists of. And if I remember correctly, the glucose test is around week 20?
@cmbknyc: Thank you...luckily, I am feeling much better. I'm thinking the Tuesday queasiness was a result of the flu shot.
I told my other sister about the pregnancy today. We were texting back and forth, and I made a comment how I haven't seen her in a couple weeks and she should call me after work so we can catch up. She was on vaca last week, so I didn't think that would spark any red flags. Well, I was wrong. The first thing she said when I called was, "Are you pregnant too?!!!" Lol. She's due Oct. 5th with her first child, so she was pretty excited that I'm due a little over a week later! Not sure how people feel about mediums, but she had a reading done last spring, and they kept mentioning the date "Oct. 4th" to her and mentioned twins...so now we're convinced that we will both go into labor on the 4th and have "cousin twins." lol.

@cmbknyc, @bushelandapeck: Sorry y'all are still feeling bad! I hope that things start subsiding soon!
@Mrs.Panda: Holy moly, that is confusing! But that means everything is looking good, right? That's so great!
@Mrs tartan: You know, I was actually thinking about the other night- I realized that I haven't been having the big waves of nausea lately that I was having around 6-7 weeks... and cue lots of freaked out Googling of "loss of pregnancy symptoms". Sigh. At least yesterday a little bit of nausea came back, along with the fatigue that never left- I ended up falling asleep on the train and drooling on myself, so I figure that the symptoms are just changing at this point. Dr. Google said that 9-10 weeks is when the placenta takes over, which comes with a hormonal shift, so maybe that's why there's a change in symptoms?
@bunnylovesbear: You're pregnant at the same time as your sister? How fun! It sounds like you could have 'twins', and I think that's the best kind of twin to have- you still only have to worry about the sleep of one newborn, but they will get a playmate for life!

@bunnylovesbear: so exciting about you and your sister! My sister and I were pregnant together last time and it was such a great experience.
@Ms.Pumpkin: thank you!!

Had my second u/s this morning, everything looks good. Still measuring on track (9w exactly, so 1 day less than I thought, but that's fine, right????) with a HB of 168.
I'm still very nauseous from about 2pm on, but I ate a real lunch today, and a real dinner last night, which are big steps. Maybe it's tapering? I hope so!
Next week is my fetal cell free DNA blood draw.

@lioneyes: yay! Sounds like everything is right on track! I measured 6 days behind my LMP date and they weren't concerned at all, so I'm sure one day isn't a big deal. They would have said something to you if they were worried. I hope you're right about the nausea tapering! I managed to go all day yesterday without throwing up and so far today looks promising as well. Fingers crossed!

@lioneyes: My OB said plus or minus 4-5 days is fine. Even the machine says X weeks X days (+/-4days) on the ultrasound. You sound right on track!
ETA: My OB actually said a week, not 4-5 days.

@lioneyes: yay! Any pictures to post?
My scan isn't for another 2 weeks when ill be 13w 2 days. I'd love to know what my baby would look like a few weeks ago/now if anyone can post scan pics!
kiwi / 656 posts
@Ms.Pumpkin: I've also googled "don't feel pregnant anymore" which caused me to be miserable too. I fell asleep in the middle of the day today (thankfully at home) but I'm also thinking hopefully this is just my symptoms changing instead of disappearing. Fingers crossed we all are saying goodbye to that horrid nausea very soon.

@MRS TARTAN: I have a.scan picture! I forgot to post it after we had scanned it in, this is from 8w4d, and the baby was measuring 8w exactly. I ovulated late, so I think it was pretty spot on. The head is the bigger blob pointed downwards.

@Mrs.Panda: wow, that baby is really starting to take shape! How cool to be able to compare! It really is amazing how quickly they go from looking like a little bean to looking like a tiny little human!

@Ms.Pumpkin: yay I love scan pics! So nice to see. Thanks for uploading.
That's 6 wks, 7 wks and 8 wks. Anyone got a 9,10,11 week yet?
kiwi / 600 posts
@bushelandapeck: @Ms.Pumpkin: Yes! I'm very excited to be able to share this experience with my sister...especially since she considers me a seasoned pro! Lol.
@Mrs tartan: I have an *almost* 9 weeks scan! This was from last Monday. The head is on the right and you can see the little arm buds and leg buds! They were even flailing around during the u/s!
kiwi / 656 posts
@bunnylovesbear: wow, that is so clear. I can't believe how much you can see. You must feel so good seeing that wee baby moving around. I'm def expecting to see a toddler in there at 13 wks now. Haha
nectarine / 2358 posts
@bunnylovesbear: Oh my gosh, what a clear picture! I'm so jealous! lol I go back in a little less than 2 weeks for my next check and I hope they scan me. I wanna see little flailing arms! I'll be 9w4d then.
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Ms.Pumpkin: Your scan is so cute! I think it's funny how my last one looks like baby is just standing in my uterus. These pics are so awesome! I got a fetal doppler and can't wait to start using it!

@Mrs tartan: Hah! A toddler! I have my 12 week appt on Wednesday... hopefully they'll do some kind of scan so you can see. We saw the heart beat last time, but I'm really interested in seeing body parts moving. I read somewhere that these few weeks are actually the most active times for the baby--we just can't feel it.
Anyone thinking of traveling this year? I am really hankering to go to Europe this summer.
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Mrs tartan: This was actually only 6 days apart, the first OB measured me at 6w1d on the 7th and the next OB measured me at 7w5d on the 13th. Who knows! But it does look much bigger, doesn't it? Maybe it was kind of hidden in the first scan.
@mrskoloa: We are looking to go on a babymoon with some friends of ours (he is going to ask her to marry him on this trip!) in June so we are very excited! No clue where, though. Somewhere tropical where I can float in a pool
ETA somewhere more tropical than Florida, which is where we live!
