October 2014 Mothers-To-Be!

    Ladies, I'm officially signing off. Last week when I went back my levels had gone up, we saw baby and heartbeat... yesterday, it was gone. They think it was amniotic band syndrome, which apparently is the cause of a lot of miscarriages. I was 9 weeks along, but the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. I haven't miscarried yet, I am going to schedule a D&C today because I can't deal with the fact that my baby is dead inside of me, I can't just wait for it to pass. I'm so sad, but glad that this roller coaster will be over soon. We go to the beach in May and I decided we can start trying after that.
    Wishing you all of the happiness in the world with your babes.

    @Rocker2014: i think i may have also had a tipped uterus which is why my u/s at week 8 showed the baby measuring small and then the u/s at week 11 showed it measuring on time according to my LMP. so maybe it's the same thing with you and it'll clear up at the next u/s for you?

    I seriously need to work on my ab muscles.... even though I was overweight to begin with my belly is looking large and in charge despite the fact that I've lost 5lbs. I cant even suck it in lol... I feel so huge

    @Mrs tartan: @cyndistar3: wow!!! Your bumps are too cute!!!

    @Mrs.ThinMint: welcome!

    @Ms.Pumpkin: Lol, we were late to the party on that song but then DH discovered it, made me watch it over and over and now it's the bane of our existence!! You def will have the upper hand with that!

    @Rocker2014: I'm measuring 6 days behind. My OB didn't seem concerned but we'll see if there are any changes at my next u/s on Friday.

    Here's a pic from today. I think I look slightly bigger because it's a rouched bathing suit.

    @Lulabee: So sorry for your loss

    @Jasmine Green: Thanks for this - you've given me so much hope that my first estimate may have been correct and that I may be that week closer to feeling better and announcing!

    @CMBKNYC: Thanks, you've made me feel better!

    @Bushelandapeck: Love the suit!

    @Rocker2014: thanks! I feel like a total mom in it but I don't care. Lol. I wasn't in the mood to try and suck in for a two piece and figured this might get me a month or two into the summer.

    Finally got the ultrasound pics in the mail today! Not as clear or impressive as many of yours but I'm still happy

    @Ms.Pumpkin: Losing all bargaining power... hilarious!

    @however briefly: There's a baby in there. That's all the impressing I need.

    @Mrs tartan: I tried to take a bump picture after you posted yours, but I don't have anything noticeable during the day time.. only at night, and by then I forgot. I'll try to remember. ALSO, at my appointment yesterday the doctor only listened to the heartbeat with a doppler... NO u/s!! :(:(:(:( BUT your appointment is coming up soon, no? You can show me what our babies look like!

    My boobs have grown at least a full cup, which sucks because now none of my bandeau bathing suit tops fit, which means I have to use the kind that tie behind the neck and back which means EXTRA tan lines I'll have to go shopping for larger sizes the next time I'm on Oahu (is anyone else obsessed with the brand Acacia?)

    We announced yesterday via fb (see picture below). So far all positive comments, and even a couple "wow, I would never have known"s from the party the other night. The weird thing is, now all sorts of pregnant people are coming out of the closet to me! There are at least five other girls I know due the same time as me, and another five due within a two month span. This winter must have been really "busy."

    In other good news, my husband actually put his hand on my stomach the other night in the shower. It was kind of cute/awkward (he is not a very touchy-feely guy). He's been really overprotective lately. People were smoking cigars at that party and he made me leave the room.

    Anywho, @however briefly, we are also Team Green. My next appointment is April 16 for the quad scan and two weeks later (but the date is not set yet, so I'll keep you posted) will be the 3d ultrasound (probably the last ultrasound of my pregnancy).

    @Bushelandapeck: It's got a cool retro vibe - I've actually been looking for something similar.

    @Howeverbriefly: Pics are gorgeous!

    @Ms.Koloa: Awesome photo - I laughed out loud at my desk!

    @LulaBee: so sorry lovely, what a roller coaster. I'm so sad for you, I hope it's all over soon and you get your sticky baby very soon.
    @cyndistar3: lovely bump pic!
    @bushelandapeck: another lovely pic too, I like the bathing suit, I think I'm going for something like that too when we go on hol.
    @however briefly: LOVE the scan pics and being able to see the difference. Do you feel like its real yet and that's your baby?
    @mrskoloa: aw no, never mind, at least you heard the heartbeat. My appointment is on wed so ill upload a pic then of these giant babies we are carrying round love your announcement picture. I'm a sucker for involving the dog too!

    @however briefly: That is so awesome! My 8 week scan was hardly impressive, too. I feel like My 7 week one was more clear! So cute!

    @mrskoloa: I love your announcement picture! I can't wait to be far enough along to announce... Just a bit under a month!

  21. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

    @mrskoloa: what a cute pic and dog! I've been trying to figure out how we will announce this time. Last time we didn't put anything on social media until the anatomy scan when we found out what we were having. I'm guess we will wait until then this time as well.

    @however briefly: those are great! Must be so nice to see them

    I keep seeing newborns everywhere and it is giving me super bad baby fever... I can't wait to have this baby! Even though it feels like time is going by so fast I feel like it is a lifetime away until I get to hold this little baby. Anyone else? Lol I'm getting impatient already

  23. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

    @cyndistar3: oh yeah I want this little baby out, healthy, and in my arms! I will just take getting out of the scary first trimester though so I can start buying things!

    pomegranate / 3980 posts

    @Mrs.Panda: true that! I can't wait to see what we are having so I know if we have to start all over or not!

  25. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

    @cyndistar3: I agree! I can't wait to find out what we are having and to feel those kicks and rolls. That was my favorite part of pregnancy by far.

  26. cyndistar3

    pomegranate / 3980 posts

    @bushelandapeck: I'm super excited for the kicks! Last time I started feeling those little flutters at 10 weeks

  27. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

    @bushelandapeck: @cyndistar3: this is my first pregnancy so I am so excited to feel those movements! I know for first pregnancies they say you start at like 18 weeks? But @cyndistar3: you felt them at 10?? That would be amazing!

  28. cyndistar3

    pomegranate / 3980 posts

    @Mrs.Panda: it just depends, my first time I didn't feel them until late in the 5th month sometime because I had an anterior placenta (can't remember exactly when) but I have found that I am a lot more aware of my body than I used to be. Dh couldn't feel the baby until about 15 weeks.

    We took some pics this morning of DS in his big bro t shirt and may use one to announce to our families. I wanted one of all of us but we haven't managed to get one yet.

  32. cyndistar3

    @bushelandapeck: How do you think he will do with a new baby?

  33. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

    @Mrs.Panda: I think it was 17 weeks or so before I was certain that's what I felt. I hear you can tell much earlier with subsequent pregnancies since you know what it feels like.

    @cyndistar3: honestly, I'm not sure. He's quite a mamas boy so I can imagine he will be quite jealous at first. I hope he doesn't feel like we are replacing him. I'm nervous about it.

  34. cyndistar3

    pomegranate / 3980 posts

    @bushelandapeck: That is what has me worried too, I thought C would be super jealous since she had a lot of time being the only child but she just loves her sister! Now I am worried because L is way more of a mommys girl than C was and actually just weaned so I have a feeling she will be jealous. But she loves babies so I'm kind of hoping her love for babies will distract her from the fact that she's not the baby anymore. Hoping lol....

    @Mrs tartan: That looks like the bump I'm trying to hide, but I'm only in my 10th week! I'll try to snap a picture later today. I'm not having the same boob issue, though...I'm totally busting out of my bras. Lol.

    I ended up telling my boss last Thursday...my NT scan is scheduled on a day I am supposed to attend an after-school meeting, so I needed to let him know so he won't be surprised when I tell him I can't attend the meeting next week! I'm just hoping he can keep the secret for a couple weeks!

    @Ms.Mermaid: @mrskoloa: Yay for more Team Green-ers!

    @bushelandapeck: That bathing suit is adorable. Where'd you get it? And Charlie is getting so big! We got Johnny a big bro tshirt, too. I'm planning to have him wear it on Easter to spread the news to our extended families. (since that's probably the first time we will see everyone all at once) I think we'll do the "bun in the oven" pic on fb again...last time we announced it right at 12 weeks, but I may wait a little longer this time. I'm still not ready for this to be public knowledge just yet.

    @cyndistar3: I'm in the opposite camp...lol. I went to visit my friend's 3 week old on Thursday, and I was like, ohhh boy....this is really happening again!! Haha.

    @bunnylovesbear: isn't it crazy how much faster that belly starts sticking out there each time? And I totally feel ya on the boobage issue... mine are resisting all containment I need to go get sized again but I am kind of scared. And as excited as I am I definitely have my moments of "what have I gotten myself into?!" The idea of having a whole other person to take care of scares me sometimes.

    On another note my dad actually called me and asked me how I was feeling today! It might seem like a normal thing to most people but my dad has never asked me that before! He typically avoids the subject, last pregnancy he asked me when I was due but that's it. I'm just shocked lol...

    My Dad has been acting all weird since we told them last Friday. My mom and MIL have been super sweet, texting and calling to see how I am feeling... my dad... almost cant even look at me. I think he is just overwhelmed.. he is a bit of a sap, so this is emotional for him. DH thinks it is funny. This is my parents 4th grandchild and my mil 1st.

    I am in Canada and the bathing suit selection here is terrible... we are heading to the states for a day in a couple weeks to stock up on yummy food that we cant get here! I am also going to hit maternity stores for some clothes and hopefully a bathing suit. I want a tankini, as I have a tall torso and NEVER fit a 1 piece as it is! Suggestions for where to go???

  38. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

    @bunnylovesbear: I bought it at Marshall's actually! I love that place I also hear you on waiting a little longer to tell people. I think we will tell our parents and siblings after the NT scan this week. We will probably tell everyone else around Easter. @MrsScottish: that's so sweet of your dad

  39. bushelandapeck

    @MrsScottish: I might check Target. I bought a tankini maternity suit there a couple years ago and I plan to wear it again this time. I'm not sure where else as I don't but maternity stuff anywhere else really. Lol

    @MrsScottish: I like Target for bathing suits! I have this really pretty crochet tanking that I got last year. What kind of food do you get?? Lol
