I am gf and the states has so many more options!!! Dairy is half the price, anything archer farms, cereal for my DH, coffee for my parents, just to name a few!!

    Thanks for the suggestions!!

@MrsScottish: Oh yeah, I can definitely see that being GF. It's almost like we are obsessed with it here! There is this GF bakery near me and I kind of want to try it, even though I eat gluten. Hope you get a good haul!

@bushelandapeck: It's kind of hit or miss. I'm an in-between size where some XL stuff fits me and other things I'm a 1X (I'm a size 16-18 normally). Some of the things just look super shitty on me lol. There were some cute dresses though! But everything is soooo expensive.

@Mrs tartan: thanks for checking on me

I'm sorry I didn't update sooner the nausea keeps getting worse I keep telling myself it's all for a great reason!!!

The u/s went extremely well! I was measuring 6 days behind on my last one but by Friday baby had caught up and my final due date is 10/25! I'm currently 9weeks 2days and have officially surpassed our last pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage. It is such a relief and we are feeling so blessed! Now we just need to make it to 12 weeks and I can relax a little. Here is a pic of our little nugget, you can actually see the placenta already which is so cool:

@cmbknyc: wow that scan pic is fab! You must be so excited! Yes my scan is in 2 days, I think ill be 13+2 but poss couple days behind as not sure exactly when I ovulated. Can't believe I've managed to hold out this long! Hope you feel better soon, my ms went away at 10+1 so fingers crossed it won't be long for you.

@Mrs tartan: SO excited for your first scan!

Yesterday I had some weird bleeding... bright red when I was peeing. It stopped after a couple of wipes, but I went to the hospital just in case. The doctor said he's not sure what caused it but didn't see/hear anything with the baby that would make him think that we were on the road to mc. However, he did say that if it happened again to go straight to the ER.

    kiwi / 656 posts

@mrskoloa: funnily enough I ended up in a&e on Sunday too, I wasn't bleeding but I started cramping on Saturday and couldn't walk on Sunday. 5 hours of testing and internals etc I got sent home with painkillers, they think its not pregnancy related but didn't check baby as I've got my u/s on wed anyway. I still don't know what it was but I'm much better, but I'm super nervous for scan tomorrow now. Scared not nervous.
I hope your bleeding has stopped, that would also terrify me, there are so many "can be normal but could be serious" things in pregnancy. Keel me posted on how you are

do you guys request for u/s at each of your visits?

i only ask because i got one at my initial visit and my next (and probably last one) will be the anatomy scan...

@Mrs tartan: i've had a couple coworkers ask me when #2 is arriving...i would just laugh it off...

i probably won't tell my office until I am out of the 1st trimester

@butterbean: how long to go for you? I'm desperate to tell, I'm sick of sucking my stomach in! Haha

@Mrs tartan: thanks for checking up on me! The nt scan went well- took longer than expected because of my forward tilting uterus and baby that didn't want to get into the right position. The tech tilted the bed back to compensate for my uterus and tapped on my abdomen a lot to get the baby to move- finally got good pictures after forty minutes- it was hell on my bladder. I hear that a full bladder is needed for the anatomy scan too and that one takes even longer so something to look forward to. Just received a call from the nurse that my numbers from the scan are good so I'm relieved. My next appointment will be early next week to go over the results in detail with the doctor but now I finally feel secure enough to announce to my friends. Luckily we've planned a girls brunch this weekend so I get to break the news in just a few days! So far we had only told our parents, my brother and one good friend and her husband when we went to visit their newborn two weeks ago. It'll be nice to have it in the open soon so I don't have to keep making up excuses why I'm tired or not drinking.

Has anyone decided when it's a good time to tell work yet? I'm in accounting so quarter end is coming up and I worry that my managers will find it strange that I have an unbreakable doctor's appointment during that time. I originally didn't want to say anything until late April or May but I might have to tell early now.

@Mrs tartan: thanks I hope so, bec this ms is not fun! Good luck with your scan, it's going to be great! Hope you are feeling better after your scare

@cyndistar3: thank you!!! Glad you get to have your scan and how neat that you'll get to compare!

@Mrs.Panda: yay due date twins!!!! I know it's pretty exciting to see how they change so fast. How's your back? And the spotting? My spotting finally stopped.

@mrskoloa: glad you got good news after such a scare!

@butterbean: I've gotten an u/s at every visit bec I have a miscarriage history and spotting during this pregnancy. Pretty sure after the NT scan my next one will be anatomy and that's it. I did have to tell my office bec we're a small group and I couldn't keep hiding how awful I was feeling. Otherwise, I would have waited until the 2nd trimester.

@Jasmine Green: glad you had a great NT scan! Have fun telling your friends

  24. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@cmbknyc: thanks for asking! It's getting better, I have about 2 more weeks off then I have to get back to work or I'll go crazy. No spotting since Friday! But that is on bed rest. I will try to increase my activity and see if that changes the spotting. How are your symptoms?

  25. Mrs tartan

    kiwi / 656 posts

@Jasmine Green: any scan pics to show us? How are you feeling about telling your friends? I've only told one of mine so far, I have a girls night on thurs so plan to break it to them then. I'm nervous!
@cyndistar3: my scan is at 1.30pm tomorrow, I'm in the UK so I don't know what time that will be with you, but ill upload a pic ASAP all being well. Are you getting a scan tomorrow too? If so get your pics up tomorrow

@Mrs tartan: I have no clue what the time difference is so I'll just be on the look out and yes, I am getting one tomorrow at 10:00 am (PST) idk what time that would be for you. I'll be sure to post pics ASAP as well as long as everything goes well

I shared this on the Nov thread I'm also following but I thought I'd share it here too:

So I had my first crazy preggo moment. DH was supposed to pick up chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream on his way home from work but when he came home he said that Publix was completely out of all cookie dough so he had to get me vanilla. In my head I knew he was just teasing and that was impossible but I started to cry! He started to panic and said he was just kidding and showed me the tub but I was so embarrassed! I think it got him even more scared because I literally NEVER cry. Omg whyyyyy lol.

    pomelo / 5720 posts

@mrskoloa: I'm glad everything was ok! So scary.
@butterbean: I'm holding out as long as possible. We haven't even told our parents et and I'll be 12w tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe 14/15 weeks? As for the u/s question, I have my NT scan tomorrow and then I'll just have my anatomy scan unless there is a problem. DS was breach for a while so I think I had 2-3 additional ultrasounds last time.
@Mrs.Panda: happens to all of us. Glad you got your ice cream!

@Mrs tartan: here's my nt scan picture! I'm a little nervous about telling my gfs, but I'm the third to be pregnant in our group, so it should go over well. Why are you nervous?

@Jasmine Green: Little baby!! Is it sucking it's thumb?

Is anyone going to get an elective ultrasound at an early age, like 14 weeks, for sex determination? I'm think I'm going to go do it April 24th!

  31. Jasmine Green

@Mrs.Panda: that's so funny, my crazy preggo moments so far have been about food too. Good thing your hubby actually had the right ice cream- that'll teach him to trick you again!

Busted out the heating back my grandma made me and my exercise ball because today my back is killing me! And as of today I have lost 7lbs which is alright I suppose since I was overweight to begin with.

@Jasmine Green: lovely scan pic! Super cute.
I don't know why I'm nervous, I have two groups of friends, one of which are really outdoorsy (even though I'm not) I think they will imagine its the worst thing ever. Haha. The other group are a bit more of a nights out group, including my best friend, who already knows, she was happy, I don't know what the others will think as I'm only the second one to fall pregnant.
    I'm nervous telling everyone!

@cyndistar3: I get sore backs too, in the UK from 16 weeks we get free physiotherapy services including a weekly massage to help. Roll on another 3 weeks!
@Mrs.Panda: do you go to physio for your back? Lol at the ice cream! I cried (no, sobbed actually) last night because DH found a great deal on baby yellow paint and bought it. This is the exact paint i had wanted, but I cried as I felt I wasn't part of the purchasing of the things for decorating the nursery. He thinks I'm crazy. Which may be true!

@Butterbean so I work in a satellite office and I told my immediate coworkers this week (there are three of us), because I was tired of hiding it. They are psyched for me but agreed that it's totally not necessary for me to tell my boss for...awhile. I have to see them at an event in April, when I wouldn't be telling anyway, and then not until June. It's just a question of when/if I or somebody else might say something on Facebook, or a colleague who sees me in court might mention it to my boss once I'm showing. I actually have a job interview today with another organization, not sure what to do about that, but I'm taking it one day at a time.

@butterbean: My work situation is currently complicated, so I won't be telling for a few weeks! I now have a great job that pays very well, but I have a 3 hour commute every day! It's killing me now, I can't imagine doing it with a baby at home. When I tell, I'm planning on trying to ask for an alternative schedule, with at least the first year being part time. But really, I think I'd like to do part time much longer, if not for the foreseeable future... They really like me there, so I'm really hoping this works- I'm so scared to ask, though!

@Mrs tartan: Thinking of you today!!! How exciting to see your baby! Hoping that all goes well and you get some lovely photos! And as for the outdoorsy friends... eh. I have a friend who is the most outdoorsy person I know, and she was hiking around California deserts in her 3rd trimester, and they now have a backpack that they put the kid in when they go out. If that's your thing, you can make it work. If it's not, then no big deal! They're your friends, so even if you're doing something that they wouldn't personally do themselves, they should still be very happy for you, seeing how happy you are!

I've been a bit of a hermit lately, as I've just been one big bundle of nerves lately. These next two weeks are just MASSIVE in terms of waiting and news. We should get the results of our cell-free fetal DNA test late this week or early next- just hoping that all is ok! And the fact that most of my MS has gone away has made me worry about the safety of this little hitchhiker I've got here, I'm going to have to wait until next Weds when I have a OB appointment to hopefully hear a heartbeat, and then I've got the NT scan on Friday! Whew.

Just hoping that after Friday I can breathe a sigh of relief, and we can start telling people- last night on the phone, my Mom was like, "the waiting is driving me CRAZY" (at which my Stepfather shouted in the background, "It was a short trip!").

Just one more week. Hah! Then I'll be waiting anxiously for the next step!
