Everyone that did NIPT testing how many days did it take to find out? This morning marks exactly a week. I feel like I'll be staring at the phone all day. Had a horrible dream about it last night...

@winniebee: Hope that phone rings today with wonderful news!!!!!

@winniebee: NIPT blood work at 9am Tuesday and results the following Tuesday at 4pm. Sending you good vibes!!

@winniebee: Thinking of you today! I'm sure you'll get great news in no time. Also, I know the bad dreams SUCK. I've had good AND bad dreams about this pregnancy, and man. It's hard not to put stock in the bad ones!

@winniebee: Did you do the MaterniT21? I go in tomorrow for the blood draw but the official timetable is 7-10 days (including weekends) but it seems like most people hear back on the 7th day.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Shantuck: Yes Materniti21 -- our lab tech at my OB's office said it's usually 7 days. My friend went on a Friday at 12 and heard the following Friday at 8 am. But she has a different OB, mine seems to sometimes take a day or two with test results. I may be annoying and call at 4pm today
pear / 1767 posts
@winniebee: I would definitely call later in the day to check in. I got into the habit of that with my beta tests. Why should we sit around in agony when our test results are trapped on somebody's desk?!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Shantuck: I did that too with betas. I knew it only took their lab a few hours to process so I'd always call by 4 that day. This test is a biggie so you'd think they would jump on calling right away

Yay, new fun pregnancy side effect....hives. Allll over my abdomen and back. Luckily we have a dermatologist in our family so after speaking with her and sending pics, she pretty much told me it's normal and it sucks. Still grateful but this isn't fun.

@waiting4you: Oh man, what a horrible symptom. I'm so sorry. Did she recommend anything that could help and is safe to take?
apricot / 344 posts
@KrzyRiver: She said best to not do anything unless really itchy and at that point calamine lotion is safe. Said it is exacerbated by heat (increases blood flow to the area), so take a cooler shower, and also from pressure (don't wear anything that is too confining. Said there's always a possibility of being allergic to the spandex used in the maternity pants band that goes over the belly, but that she's pretty sure that's not the case with me. Pretty much just a hormone thing and hopefully it passes soon.

@waiting4you: I had a rash on my neck for the final weeks of my pregnancy with my son. It was about 100 degrees out and my doctor suspected it was heat rash or something hormonal. It hung out for a few weeks and went away. The heat rash and my huge swollen ankles forced me to go into hiding from all social events at the end of my pregnancy!!!

Really late role-caller - for some reason I had trouble registering with the site a few weeks ago when I tried and didn't get back around to it until now!
Location: Canada
EDD: Oct. 18
How far along: 13w 1d
First child? Yes!
First doctor appointment: Past it now, but my most recent one was last week. Next one is in 3 weeks. Had my NT scan last week as well, looking more like an actual little person in there now!
Any symptoms so far? I was crazy tired up until the last couple of weeks, but that seems to have eased off now.
Who have you told? At this point, pretty much everyone close to us knows. Our parents knew really early, most other people have found out gradually over the last few weeks.
Looking forward to the next 6 months with everybody! I'm not much of a facebooker, so I was really to see how active this forum is!

@whiskers: Awesome! Sounds like a mighty fast heartbeat. Were A and B's heart rates true to the girls = faster wives tale?
kiwi / 657 posts
@mfa_lady: I really don't remember - but this baby was on the low end at 9 weeks so the higher side just makes me think more active not sex specific. I'm totally happy with another girl, but a lot of people are hoping it is a boy. Should know by the end of next week.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@whiskers: I'm having the same experience--all of our friends are like "I hope it's a boy!" Makes me glad we're TG. Nobody's going to say "Aw, what a bummer" once the baby is actually here. Hahaha. At least, I sure hope they're not.

@winniebee: Let us know if you call your doc this afternoon! Excited to hear your update. (Will you let them tell you the sex on the phone?)
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@whiskers: Funny you say that - EVERYONE in our family was expecting this to be a boy (maybe because we nicknamed the embryo Olaf? haha) and were floored with the results saying girl.

Had a doctors appt today. Heard the heartbeat. Was interviewed by a very nervous medical student, which was amusing. Doctor was impressed that I haven't gained any weight yet and told me to schedule my anatomy scan for 18 weeks, which is in about 3 and a half weeks.
I was SO excited...until I called the hospital to make the appt and they told me they won't do it before 20 weeks anymore because that decreases the likelihood that you'll have to come back. So my appt isn't until May 23rd. Bummer!
kiwi / 657 posts
@KrzyRiver: oh man, I feel like your doctor should have known that. Glad you're appointment went well. I've gained like 10 lbs
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KrzyRiver: ah, bummer!!
@whiskers: I've gained 4.....I'm nauseous still and eating is the only thing that helps
apricot / 276 posts
@whiskers: Well I guess it's a new thing? Plus my doctor's office doesn't do any ultrasounds on site. She just put the order in and gave me the number to call. I have an appt with her like 3 days after, so I'll tell her then. And with the way I've been eating, I'm surprised I haven't packed it on! I've been eating a lot of junk! But I can't stomach much, so I guess that's why.

14 weeks tomorrow here. OB was so happy about our NIPT results and scan today showed good growth (13+6, on dates exactly) so... life is good.
Has anyone noticed how squished baby already looks in there? Today's quick u/s showed her all curled up and the poor thing looks smushed!
