October 2016 moms!

We won't have our anatomy scan until I'm 21 weeks because of scheduling. That's eons away from now....I'd be dying to know the sex if we didn't already know!

@jaguar: we have some issues in our area with different cultures terminating due to gender. Which is so sad and now it seems more clinics won't tell gender.

I want to know gender and worried they won't tell me.

@Amorini: being team green is so hard we did it last time but this time I can't wait. I need to know if we should sell all boy stuff or not!

@winniebee: Oh lucky you already know!

@Boston terrier mom: Oh gosh, that's pretty full on.. I don't quite know what to say. Too many feelings. I'm sure they will tell you. It's YOUR baby.

@winniebee: Haha. DH says I have an obvious pregnant belly, so I walk around thinking that's how I must look to everyone. But I've got a long torso so there's room for a belly to hide...

@Boston terrier mom: I hadn't thought about that [people's cultural reasons behind finding out gender]. That is a sad but unfortunate reality... I hope that you get to find out.

For some reason, I can see wanting to know gender for LO #2 ... but we won't have a LO#2 (MFI = IVF, my age, etc. ... kind of sad about this, but also sometimes really completely okay about it). So I think that's why we are living it up in TG-style ... this will be our only time to be surprised and we want the full treatment! ETA: Oh and for some reason, it doesn't seem hard at all. I dunno, just seems normal to both of us to wait. We're weird. We also shamelessly don't want our house filling up with pink and light blue ...

@Amorini: Not weird at all, I kind of wish I could wait that surprise is I am sure amazing!

My anatomy scan is scheduled for May 17 and they will tell us the gender. I'll be 20.5 weeks. It feels so much longer because I found out a week earlier last time. My due date is one day off from H's (hers was 10/4), so I'm not sure why they are being such sticklers for waiting until I'm past 20 weeks. Oh well. A little over a week to go!

Also... I stepped on the scale and while my belly is ginormous, I have not gained a single, solitary pound. By this time last pregnancy, I was already up 15 pounds. Maybe it's because I started out about 10 pounds heavier this time? Idk.

@Amorini: I think waiting is awesome! If I had the patience for it, I'd absolutely do it.

@whiskers: I definitely will! We find out tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait!

Sorry I've been so inactive. I got a promotion at work and T is going through a super clingy/no sleep phase. 😑

@artsyfartsy: Booo to no sleep, that is killer!

My anatomy scan is June 8th!

@avivoca: Good for you, I'm up 7 but I remember last time from like 20-24 weeka I gained 11lbs 😯

  14. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@FaithFertility: @avivoca: I got a talking to by my doctor for only gaining 2 lb so far....what she didn't know is I had already gained 3 by my 7 week appointment, the first time they logged my weight!

So at almost 15w I've gained 5 lbs. I usually gain 10 by 20 weeks and then 30 lbs by the end. I started off 2 lbs less than my last pregnancy so maybe I'll gain a little more (though I was not skinnier, just no muscle lol!)

  15. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

I'm trying not to weigh myself, actually. :o I started heavier, so I have a lot of issues with that... honestly, so long as baby is growing, I'm happy.

@Amorini: I have a friend due in August who is team green. I'm living vicariously through her. I don't have the patience but LOVE the idea of it being a surprise up until the end!!

@avivoca: I'm still -2 from pre pregnancy weight. I started out higher this time too. With T I had gained 15 pounds by this point 😱

Small update on me: 16 weeks 3 days right now. Still puking in the mornings when I brush my teeth and nausea still finds me but overall it's MUCH better. I'm able to eat a little more than French fries now but I still have aversions to a lot of things.

Feeling lots of baby movement. Love it!

I'm still quite tired but pushing through. I have no time to rest or lay down but surprisingly that helps me. I don't have time to think about how tired I am until I lay down for bed. I got promoted at work (Yay!) and it's been going great and helping the pregnancy fly by.

T is in a rough stage right now but he's still my sweet little guy. He finally picked up the word "baby".

We find out boy or girl tomorrow! All old wives tales point to girl but with just how my life goes that will mean it's a boy. Haha I can't wait to find out. Both gender names have been secured too.

Thank you all! I'm a little sad mourning the fact that I will never have a girl (this is our last) but I'm still so so thrilled to have another sweet boy. His name matches up perfectly with T's and I'm excited to have two little brothers.

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@artsyfartsy: yeah, i've had some sad moments as well knowing I will never have a girl (we are NOT going for a 4th!) but in the end, I really love having boys and I know that it will be wonderful. What's his name? And what does T stand for? (I have a T....he's Tyler...and also a Ryan).

@winniebee: Truett is my oldest and this baby will be named Forrest!

Their middle names match too in context and rhyming but I won't share those here

@artsyfartsy: Right there with you. I'm a bit disappointed that we won't ever have a girl (no more kids coming from this uterus!), but having four boys will be a fun challenge.

Happy mother's day to all! Just a cute little anecdote that warmed my heart... So, my in-laws live across the country and are a bit older. I adore them. FIL had a mild stroke a couple months ago and has not been able to walk but is making progress every day. DH is out there visiting this weekend and apparently today FIL took a bunch of steps and told DH that our baby is motivating him to get better and it's his goal to make it out here in October! Isn't that so sweet? I feel extra special that they're so excited about this baby since it'll be their seventh grandchild so it's not like there's any novelty. I'm so happy that this baby is giving them hope and excitement during such a rough time. Ok now I'm crying lol sorry had to share

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. I felt OK most of the weekend. I am hoping to have my genetics info back soon. I just want to know everything is ok with this little baby. We are pretty sure it's a boy and are set on a boy name but in the off chance it's a girl we are having trouble. DH and I have been dueling with girl names all weekend. I am also hoping to turn the corner and start feeling better.

What do you all have going on this week?
We have speech for my youngest and a chiro appointment for myself then out of town to see my in laws. I can't wait to see them.

@MrsRcCar: My weekend was okay. T and I got in a big fight Saturday morning over this bike he's buying. He wanted to take $3K out of our savings account so he could have it a week sooner (he's trying to see his current bike but not having much luck) and I wasn't comfortable with that. So after a lot of tears on my part, we went to the zoo and had a good day. Then I told him I wanted to go out to dinner and he made it happen. Yesterday was church and lunch with my family, so it was nice.

My anatomy scan is next week, eek! I took H to the ped for her 2.5 year well visit and she asked me if I was having twins. I really wanted to say, "I'm just fat, okay?!" but I refrained.

    @MrsRcCar:

We spent most of the weekend at a documentary movie festival, which was a lot of fun... and as a bonus, I'm almost convinced that I finally felt some baby movement yesterday!

This week, mostly just hoping to get my IPS results back.

We've got the opposite problem with names... we're pretty much agreed on one for a girl, but finding boy names very difficult.

This past weekend sucked! My DH basically did whatever he wanted while I had to take care of the toddler full-time. Great Mother's Day for me...

This coming week the toddler and I are going to the beach with some mom friends and to a planetarium/science museum. Then, I'm helping with the parent group garage sale on Saturday meaning a whole day without the toddler! I'm excited for some time away. Finally, I'm hosting a sprinkle for two good friends on Sunday. Should be a busy weekend... Next appointment isn't until the 17th.
