Moms with toddlers: is it getting harder /more painful to pick up your toddler? At the end of the day, picking up or carrying H is really starting to make the sides of my belly ache. I have to lift her into the crib or in/out of the stroller (she can climb into the car seat). Any advice?

@Shantuck: LOVE the name Arden. So strong and beautiful sounding. It's my #1 fave for a girl that I hope I'll get to use eventually!

@avivoca: Yes!!! I can hardly pick up Arthur by the end of the day. It doesn't help that he's either wriggling or completely dead wait. He's still in a crib and often wants me to put him to bed. Getting him up and over is a major struggle some nights. Sorry no advice, but I'm right there with you!
apricot / 477 posts
@avivoca: yep! I'm lucky though and LO1 is addicted to her dad after we get home from daycare so she almost wants nothing to do with me. I have to do very little lifting her up and down after work. This likely will be changing soon though as I'm pretty sure I'm about to be solo for three months.

I ran out of test strips so I've gone the whole day without testing my glucose. I also shotgunned 3 biscuits at Cracker Barrel while waiting for my food (bacon and eggs). Plus it was 94F at church (we meet outside in the summer) and I was a big, sweaty mess. I feel like crap. I miss cake and being able to eat normally. But I haven't gained much weight, if any at all over the last four weeks and my glucose has been fairly steady with the dietary changes.
T said he would get me a cake once I deliver A.
Midwife appointment on Tuesday! I'm feeling lots of little kicks and pokes.

Only purchase was a little collared shirt. We have lots of baby stuff from our girls so have to start sorting through stuff soon.
Cravings: it changes
He likes to kick my hand but whenever I have someone else put their hand there he won't kick.
Even if I have my hand there too. Then they take their hand away and he'll kick again. So DH and kiddos haven't felt him yet, silly boy.

Quiet wiggles here, nowhere near strong enough to feel from the outside, but I'm starting to feel them a little more at nights. I love this bebe so much. I fear she's still breech though; the thuds are way down in my crotch!
Went to IKEA today and spent ages browsing bebe stuff. No purchases though.. mainly went to organise G's big girl room a bit more, so I can make more space in the new baby's room.
Also booked into my hospital and filled out all of the paperwork... it's happening! A few months time... omgosh! Still in denial that we actually get to meet our little girl then.

Not really a purchase, but finished my first baby project! I bought this fabric a year ago secretly hoping I'd get to use it for my own baby, and I did!

@Kitkat: Omgosh, you made that? So amazing! I don't have a crafty bone in my body - but that is just awesome!
cherry / 160 posts
@jaguar you don't need to worry about your baby being breech at this point. they have tons of room in there and move around a lot. I don't think they starting checking position until like the last month or so if I'm remembering correctly.
Updates: 23 weeks
Gender: boy!
Name: Still working on the middle name, but I think we have decided on the first name!
Latest baby purchase: I don't think I've purchased anything yet. Though I was just gifted some boy clothes! Since this is my second I won't need a whole lot and we are moving in a month so I will probably start thinking more about what we need after the move.
Cravings: I've been eating loads of junk! Not sure if that's a craving but I've been enjoying it
Symptoms: heartburn/acid reflux. other than that I've been feeling pretty good.
apricot / 325 posts
@jaguar: aww thanks! It's not the fanciest one I've made, but it's probably my favorite ️
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Kitkat: Well, I LOVE it!
@Alexandra603: We are monitoring due to a previous early delivery, so unfortunately the usual late-in-pregnancy breech stuff might not apply!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@jaguar: Are they worried about her breech?! I asked at my anatomy scan at 21 weeks and they said it didn't matter as he still can flip.and probably does daily!
@Kitkat: Ohhhh that is beautiful and special!

Just got back from my 24 week appointment! Everything looks good. There was a bit of a snafu with my glucose numbers because I'm keeping them in my phone and they weren't sure if they would be able to print them out (eye roll), but it happened. A is doing well, kicking a lot, HR was 160, and she's positioned exactly like H was, which is why my right hip/sciatic nerve hurts so much. My BP was good and they are expecting me to deliver early, but I really hope she stays in until September 30!

Omg, I am in such pain. I went on a short walk this morning and my uterus feels like it is revolting. I really need to work on staying hydrated.
