@mrskc: Ooh so exciting! Nursery shopping will be fun I bet. How long are you guys going to Taiwan for?
bananas / 9357 posts
@hilsy85: We will be gone for 10 days. I'm excited and nervous about going. I've never been to another country besides Mexico while on a cruise. Plus I'll be meeting all of DH's family. It should be an adventure though! I'm bummed I probably won't get to check in here for over a week though! hahaha

@mrskc: How cool! I've never been to Taiwan, but heard it's wonderful. We'll miss you while you're gone
We're not doing anything special over the weekend, but I do anticipate a lot of sleeping in!

Hey October mamas!
Hope you all had a fabulous memorial day weekend! It was gorgeous is the northeast....
My anatomy scan is tomorrow at 3 and I am SO excited! Today is going to drag I just know it!
The belly had lots of admirers over the weekend and my niece and nephews were all talking to it and picked names - so cute!
Also tons of movement now - and my husband finally felt it!

@hellobeeboston: That is so exciting that your DH got to feel movement! I am 100% jealous! Haha I"m still not feeling much movement due to my placenta, I did do the good old flashlight trick last night just to get her moving and it worked, it stinks I don't have movement on a regular basis! I just have to live through you ladies!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@jessiejo17: you'll probably start to feel it soon right!?!
i guess my placenta is in the right place to be able to feel earlier...
But what's the flashlight trick?! I don't know it and want to try!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@hellobeeboston: I'm guessing in the next couple weeks she will be strong enough to kick through the placenta and I'll feel it (my placenta is acting as a barrier between baby and me right now so all her kicks are hitting the placenta and not my tummy.)
Right now the babies can see a flashlight if you hold it up to your stomach, so I will just brush the light across my belly and it "ticks" her off since it's bright and it causes her to move quickly, causing me to feel movement. My BIL and SIL did this for their little girl, and when she was bigger used to kick at the light! ha

@hellobeeboston: eeek! So exciting you have your anatomy scan tomorrow. What are you thinking you're having? and I'm jealous you're feeling so much movement!
@jessiejo17: I have an anterior placenta as well. I can feel movement inside, but it's not strong enough for my DH to feel it yet. I do feel it about once a day now. How far along are you? And good tip about the flashlight. I'll have to try that out.
I had a nice three day weekend. We got our crib and glider ordered from Buy Buy Baby! It's going to take 9-11 weeks for them to come in. I can't wait! I love that you can use their 20% off coupons for furniture. We went with the Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle crib in white. And we also got the Little Castle Blake glider. So so comfy! The glider came out to be only $360 with 20% off. That's the same price as the gliders I was looking at on Walmart's website. And they don't up-charge to pick custom fabric.

@mrskc: I feel it maybe 2-3 time a week is all, I'm 21W4D. I'm going to ask my doctor about it on Wednesday at my appointment! I know i'm within normal range, but I really want to start feeling her kick (which I'm sure will change in 2 motnhs when I want her to settle down ha)
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mrskc: for some reason I feel like its a boy.... I would be super psyched either way!
So awesome you got your crib/glider! I feel like I need to get on that ASAP!
Jessie - cant wait to try the flashlight trick!

@hellobeeboston: Can't wait to hear what you're having today! Update us ASAP!
squash / 13764 posts
@jessiejo17: I tried the flashlight trick but no dice...I'm only 19weeks, so maybe it'll work in another few weeks!
@mrskc: yay for nursery stuff!! I can't wait to start shopping for that
@hellobeeboston: can't wait to hear what you're having! Hopefully your little one is cooperative
I've also been feeling some movement over the last week...it started out feeling like little soda bubbles popping but ove rthe last few days it's felt more like bumps and rolls. DH even got to feel it a few times, and I could actually see my stomach move once or twice when I was focusing on it. It's kind of bizarre, but also very cool

@jessiejo17: I'm going to have to try this flashlight trick. I hope you start feeling more kicks soon....though not on your bladder!
@mrskc: I love your crib selection. The Peyton was on our short list for cribs.
@hellobeeboston: Have fun at your anatomy scan today You'll have to let us know afterwards how it went!
@hilsy85: I have yet to see my stomach moving. It's probably very cool after you get over being slightly weirded out!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@hilsy85: @mrskc: so, we're going to find out in a little bit of a weird way. First off, we were going to be team green, but we decided we can't wait... BUT, we're not telling anyone (except for you HelloBee ladies), that way it will be a surprise for everyone else.
SO - this Friday we're going to the Celtics, Miami Heat game at the Garden - and my husband decided we should find out on the jumbotron. Kinda crazy, I know... but he is pumped - I'm excited too! So today, assuming baby cooperates, we're going to have it written on an envelope - and the nurse is going to call my mom (the only other person who will know) & tell her boy or girl - and my mom is calling the Garden, and they're putting it up on the bottom portion of the jumbotron in the first quarter!
haha - sorry - long story - but it will certainly be a memorable way to find out!
I'll let you all know on Saturday or Friday night

@ninja: Funny you mention the bladder, at my last U/S her feet were playing soccer with my bladder, we watched her repeatedly kick it, so I have a jokester in there already I think I'm starting to feel flutters in the morning when I first wake up, that's it though!
bananas / 9357 posts
@hilsy85: So exciting that your DH got to feel movement! I've noticed the movement I've been feeling has been a lot stronger. I saw my stomach move for the first time the other day and it was the coolest thing! I love feeling him move around in there. It gives me such peace of mind knowing that he's active in there.
bananas / 9357 posts
@hellobeeboston: Oh wow! that sounds so exciting! I'm glad you're not going to make us wait until after you have the baby! I look forward to hearing what you're having this weekend. Are you going to tell people you know what you're having? Or make them think you're team green?
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mrskc: No - we're going to make them think we don't know.
I know - it's terrible... My mom was guilting me so much about us waiting (in a joking way) that we figured we'd let her in on the secret. I sorta like that we'll be the only ones that know and everyone else gets to be surprised!
squash / 13764 posts
@hellobeeboston: wow that is an awesome way to find out!!! What a story for your LO
@mrskc: ditto! I can't wait til the movements get even stronger
bananas / 9357 posts
@hellobeeboston: It's probably better they think you don't know, so you don't have to be hearing people's opinions or whines. lol
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mrskc: that's exactly what we thought! it's easier if they think we don't know! plus - i'd rather get all gender neutral items for when (hopefully) we have another baby!

@hellobeeboston: That’s going to be an AMAZING way to find out!!! How exciting! I’ve never heard of anyone doing that before
20 weeks for me today and just feeling so overwhelmingly thankful!

@Running Elley: Thanks! I'm excited!!!
And YAY! 20 weeks!! so fantastic...

@hilsy85: @hellobeeboston: @mrskc: I know!!! It's crazy! I can't believe it and I'm feeling super emotional lol. Yay.
Soooo it's supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow here and 103 on Friday. How are we going to survive the summer????
bananas / 9357 posts
@Running Elley: Ugh. I'm not ready for the 100 degrees yet. I know since we live so close to each other, we have the same climate. Everyone keeps telling me I'm going to be miserable this summer.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Running Elley: I hear you! It was 100 on Saturday here, I had to be inside most of hte day, the heat is just to much to handle already! A/C will be our friend!!!
coconut / 8681 posts
@mrskc: I honestly just want to quit work and lay at home under the fan all day. Or just spend the entire summer in my mom’s pool. Unfortunately those things are not viable options At least we don't have the humidity!! Btw we should totally meet up at some point, we are SO close!
@jessiejo17: Seriously. I don’t think I’ll be venturing out too much. We’re supposed to go camping with my husband’s family in mid-July and I’m really not sure if I’ll be able to handle that!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Running Elley: We are "camping" in 3 weeks, but luckily have rented cabins, I have a feeling I will be spending the majority of my time in the cabin with my niece who is 8 months isntead of enjoying the lake like everyone else!
bananas / 9357 posts
@Running Elley: Yeah we should totally meet up sometime! My mom has a pool too, so I imagine I'll be spending a lot of time in it.

Had the anatomy scan - went great! Baby looks perfect and was moving a ton - so cool to see... We even got a couple 3d pics of baby's face! Crazy!
The ultrasound tech called my mom and she knows the sex! I also have a pic and the answer in a sealed, stapled and taped envelope! Haha, just need to wait 2 more days now!
bananas / 9357 posts
@hellobeeboston: So glad everything looked perfect with the baby! You must be very excited to find out! I don't think I would've been able to hold out a couple more days.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@hellobeeboston: Wow you are strong holding out on not knowing, considering your mom knows! I would never last! haha
kiwi / 691 posts
@Running Elley: Yay! Halfway! I'm only a day ahead of you!
@hellobeeboston: Glad the anatomy scan went well! I can't imagine waiting even a few hours afterwards to know the gender! I don't know why, but the 3D ultrasound face scans always creeped me out when my sister had them done. I'm sure I'll feel differently when it's my baby though! I hope they gave you some really great pics
honeydew / 7235 posts
@ninja: haha - actually - we do think it's a little bit creepy, but one of the shots looks semi-normal - ha! I still think it's cute!
@jessiejo17: just one more day! Will find out tomorrow night! my mom won't even speak to me on the phone until after - haha!

Yay @ HelloBeeBoston!!! Can't wait till you find out! What a fun way to find out :o)
Sorry I've been MIA, work is CRAZY! Nothing too exciting here, trying to finalize the name and then get to work on the nursery "theme". I cleaned a lot this weekend and got rid of a lot of stuff, but we still have a ways to go!
I can't believe I'll be 22 weeks on Saturday, time is flying!!!
coconut / 8681 posts
@hellobeeboston: Glad that everything went well!! Can't wait until you find out tomorrow!
@jessiejo17: Oh gosh yes, a cabin is the way to go!! Unfortunately we'll be in tents. Wahhhhh.
