@hellobeeboston: Love love love bedding you picked out! So cute. I think this is the same gray elephant fabric you liked in that first photo:

    http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=62402497-6926-4975-ad16-f63a344b5648

Your nursery sounds like it's going to be very cute!

I'm definitely going to do the navy chevron for curtains. I'm unsure of crib bedding at the moment. I think I'm going to try and make a crib skirt and then just buy some crib sheets & and changing pad cover.

I bought a baby blanket off Etsy in this fabric:
    http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=3d5654bd-b3ea-4e98-a760-5240b440a9e9

I can't decide if I want to use that for the crib skirt or do something else.

I got the Little Castle Blake glider in midnight with silver piping. I just heard from Buy Buy and my glider should be in next week! I cannot wait to go pick up my crib and glider.

I have primarily been on Wedding Bee but occassionally visiting here. Loving this thread, so I figured it was a good time to join in.

EDD: October 12th with my sweet girl
How far along? 26 wks 6 days
Total weight gain: 17 lbs. Sure it will be higher at my 28 week appointment next Thursday.
Maternity clothes? Loving my maternity clothes. It's been fun to get a new wardrobe and to for once be excited about showing off a belly instead of worrying about sucking one in.
Stretch marks? None yet. Hoping to be as lucky as my mom and not get any.
Best moment this week: That will be tomorrow when we go for our 3D/4D ultrasound. My mom is coming with us and it will be the first time she ever sees an ultrasound.
Food cravings: Currently on a BBQ pulled pork kick, which is funny since up until 3 weeks ago, I couldn't eat any meat to save my life. Also have a killer sweet tooth.
Symptoms: Occasional swelling of the feet. Bleeding gums. Seriously uncomfortable at night which leads to terrible sleep. Looking forward to: Getting the glucose test over with. Our ultrasound tomorrow. Receiving some of the decorative items we've ordered for the nursery - I have a serious Etsy addiction but waiting for items can seem like an eternity. Also can't wait for her rug to finally get here - it's been back ordered at Pottery Barn Kids until Aug. 6.
Recent milestone: For some reason, 24 weeks seemed huge to me. I can hardly believe that next week, I'll be in the 3rd trimester. Getting her nursery painted and all of the furniture set up. It's my favorite room in the house now. Can't wait to get her bedding (my mom bought it all) at my shower on Aug. 5. DH and I are just finishing up childbirth classes as well. Can't believe how close we are to meeting our daughter!

EDD: Oct. 14th Team Green but I've always had a feeling LO is a boy.
How far along? 26 wks 4 days
Total weight gain: 30lbs at my last apt I know it's alot more now since we are on vacation and I have eaten a ton!
    Maternity clothes? Yes full time.
Stretch marks? No new ones. I have a bunch from my first pregnancy. They are just alot more noticable now that my bump is growing.
Best moment this week: Being able to hear LO's heartbeat for almost 7 hours straight. Which was the only not horrible part of the preterm labor scare.
Food cravings: Cereal. I eat at least 2 bowels a day.
Symptoms: My face is breaking out a ton and the heat has been my worst enemy. I'm also having the round legiment pain and alot of BH. More then the "normal" amount but I did get a test to see if I was likely to go into preterm labor and I tested negative.
Looking forward to: Reaching my 3rd trimester! Seems so unreal that we are all almost due.
    Recent milestone: 24 weeks!

@mrskc: omg! That's the fabric!! Maybe I'll buy some and do something with it... I can't sew, but my mom can!

Love the other fabric with all of the animals! So cute!

Exciting that you get to pick up your glider and crib next week!!!!

@MrsSPB: Welcome and congrats!! You are so good that you did all the baby classes already! I was going to inquire at my next appt about doing that...

Hey ladies...it may seem as if i'm never on this thread but in all reality I am stalking it all the time....I don't never have anything exciting to post!
Right now i'm excited about my upcoming shower...2 days from now on Sunday! yay!
    Let me update:

    EDD: Oct. 12th
How far along? 27 weeks exactly
Total weight gain: 21 lbs! But I am a-OK with it. Baby is growing like a weed
Maternity clothes? yes except sleep clothes..
Stretch marks? no thank goodness but my belly button is brown like my ninea negra
Best moment this week: Passing my GD test!!!
Food cravings: oatmeal is my thing now:)
Symptoms: Heartburn, hip soreness and round ligament pain and a pressure on my lower belly...and LIGHTENING CROTCH!
Looking forward to: my shower on sunday
Recent milestone: feeling braxton hicks...or what I think to be BH

@hellobeeboston: I was a lunatic about classes. The main reason is my friend delivered at the same hospital in January and when she went to schedule her classes they were all booked up. So, we scheduled them as soon as we could. I'm traveling a lot for work in August and didn't want to wait until September in case Miss Ella decides to come early. You'll be fine.

So excited - we had our 3D/4D ultrasound today, and it was beyond amazing. I literally teared up so many times. My mom was amazed - it was her first ultrasound. My husband is proudly telling everyone about the big smile his girl gave him when he talked to her. We were already beyond in love with our little girl but after today I feel like my heart grew 1,000 times more to make room for all of the love for her. I seriously want to go back right now and do it all over again.

@MrsSPB: Ahhh it's such a great thing! I wish I had another one, but as of now we are done with the U/S so we will just have to wait for the real thing! Ours was shy and didn't like to show her face, so I'm so interested to see her features in person and to decide who she looks like more! And I'm loving the name Ella, we have a niece with that name and she is adorable and full of love

@ninja: Yay! Glad your results came back normal.

@MrsSPB: Aww that's so sweet. We decided to not do the 4d u/s... but I'm starting to change my mind after hearing about yours.

I had a regular OB checkup yesterday. My glucose and everything else was normal. I do have a slight UTI though. Don't know why it took them two weeks to tell me since I did the urine sample two weeks ago! I guess next time I'll call to get my lab results. Oh and when my doc was listening to the heartbeat, baby got the hiccups. You could hear the heartbeat and then a little thump when he hiccuped. I could feel it too. So cute!

@mrskc: Glad your check up went well. We loved the u/s experience so much that we booked another one for 32 weeks. I keep looking at the pictures of her sweet face...if you do decide to do it, just make sure you drink lots and lots of water for the week leading up to the appointment. It really improves the quality of your images if you're well hydrated.

OK ladies i'm here for some FAST advice.....ahh....Yesterday I had a scare I guess you could say.

For the last couple days i've been much more sore and hard bellied than usual. I thought I might be constipated but I'm not --i'm pretty regular! But yesterday took the cake. I could barely WALK because I had shooting pains in my back and my stomach was super hard. So, I sat there and cried as DH tried (without success) to rub my back and ease this absurd pain.

I didn't know if other women experienced this & if it could have been really bad BH or even PTL! So, I started googling (shame, shame) and found out that the start of pre term labor is usually shooting back pains. But they said they'd been put on bed rest and it went away. So, today I put myself on bedrest today hehe;)
But tomorrow is my shower.....would you call?
Mind you: in order to sleep I popped extra strength tylenols and today it is a bit better because 1. I haven't yet been out of bed (except my bathroom breaks) and 2. it's only 12:15 noon.

  15. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@TurtleDoves: hey there --- if i were in your situation, I would call - I mean, better safe than sorry - you could go in & get checked out & feel reassured for your shower.

or maybe when you talk to them on the phone they'll know what's up & you may not even have to go in.

Are you still feeling the pain today? Or is it better laying down?

  16. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@hellobeeboston: its SO MUCH better. I could not even move yesterday without moaning in pain. So, I feel kind of dumb calling now and being like "i'm better but ..." So, I don't know. That's why i'm hanging out in bed because I am trying to "reset" or re-coop in time for the shower, I suppose.

  17. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@TurtleDoves - If you feel better today, then just keep notes of your experience and talk to your doc about it at your next appointment and ask what you should do.

If you weren't feeling better, or it gets worse again this afternoon, I would call. I don't think you should feel bad at all! You and your insurance are paying your Doc to take care of you, so take advantage!

Rest up today, drink plenty of water, and don't over exert yourself! Have fun at your shower tomorrow!!

@CarrieLouWho: thank you so so much for the advice! I do feel much better today by the way:) Just in time for the shower!

C/P from WB: Today is my first baby shower; my mom is throwing it with all of my aunts and cousins. I have been resisting the urge to peak at my registry to see what was bought but I have to admit, a week or so ago I did and found that my Medela Advance breastpump had been bought! (I know it was my mom because she already kinda hinted at it shamelessly) and 3 other items that are super useful. My MIL is also buying us the stroller, car seat and base but we haven't pinned it down exactly so as soon as we know what we want we'll let her know...

Other than that I wanted to share some work in progress photos of the nursery. It looks empty and plain right now but I have many tricks up my sleeve for it and its still missing major furniture but at least you'll get an idea!

    Hi ladies,

I hope everyone had a good weekend

We attended two weddings this weekend, and I had so much fun getting into dresses/getting dressed up all preggo! It was fun, and I felt great! Got some nice comments too, which made me feel good.

Today is our 3D/4D ultrasound (5pm EST) and I am pretty excited! We leave Friday for 27 days away (heading to Nova Scotia) and so beginning to get prepped for that! I took today off work after a busy wedding weekend, and to start getting organized (oh the lists I have going!) for the trip!

I am 27w2d today and can't believe how fast time is flying by, I'd really like a bit of a slowdown!

@Beebug: Have fun at your U/S! Come back and tell us how it was.

I finally set a shower date with my mom for Sept 8th. A little later than I would've liked, but we didn't want to do it labor day weekend. I finally started my registry over the weekend. It was exhausting! There is so much baby stuff, and it's hard to know what we'll actually need. I feel like my registry is skimpy, but I have lots of time to fine tune it.

@BeeBug - I would be EXHAUSTED if I had 2 weddings in a weekend!!! Have fun at your 3D4D US today!

@JessieJ, I got my first shower invite too!

I'm having 4 showers which is SUPER crazy, but mostly b/c my parents are divorced & now back together. One w/ my step mom's family/friends, one with my mom/dad's family back home, one with my friends and hubs family here in town, and one at work. And they are all in August! It's going to be one busy month! But I am feeling loved!!!

I'm actually off this week for a "staycation". We are working on getting the office cleaned out so that we can get Delaney's room ready to go before the showers start! Will keep ya'll posted on progress :o)

Everyone's registry and shower talk is so exciting! I will not be having a shower (likely showers...) until after baby is here, any registry tips are welcomed I have a super broken family, and had four wedding showers, so conceitedly assuming I will have more than one shower.....oye!

Ultrasound was AH-MAY-ZINGGG! So fun! She co-operated so well, was kicking the techs hand as she scanned, it was so funny the tech reacting to her movement! We saw her chubby little face, confirmed she is definitely a she (lol), saw a nose like DHs (phew!) and big toes like me. She was busy in there, like her mother can't sit still!

We got to take home two printed images, 60 on CD, and the web cast worked perfectly! We were texting and emailing with those we were webcasting to as it was happening! They all got to hear her heartbeat (121 bpm and 129 bpm when checked) and hear us talking! My Grandmother figured it out too, lol. It was really nice to share with DHs family across the country!

I'd like to share the photos with you ladies, but not the whole world, I wish these things could be closed rather than wide open!

@Beebug: aww yay! That's so exciting--I wish we could see the pics too!

I had my 26 wk appt this morning and had to do the glucose test. It wasn't bad at all, although I did feel kind of light headed after. But that could have been from fasting/being dehydrated. Baby boy looked great at my appt--he's apparently head down, let's hope he stays that way! I also found out we get to have a growth ultrasound at 32 weeks, which will be done at the high tech doctor's office that we went to for our anatomy scan. They'll be able to do awesome 3d images, so I'm excited to see what he looks like at that point!

Have you guys started registering for childbirth classes yet? I'm looking at the hospital's schedule, and they only have classes up through early August. We might end up doing one of those full day intensive classes so DH doesn't have to take more time off work.

In other exciting news, my in-laws ordered us our crib! It should be here sometime next week, I'm so excited Our first item of baby furniture! And I think we'll be painting the nursery next week as well. Then this will really all seem real--like there's actually going to be a baby coming home with us soon!

@hilsy85: Yes. they fill up fast around here, so our birth class is next weekend. We are doing the accelerated, one day class, that's what DH preferred!

I have my glucose test at 3:45 today, fingers crossed it isn't bad either! I'm excited to see how I'm measuring, and I have to get a shot today too for rH negative...boo!

Very happy to share, and never sure if anyone not preggo reallllly wants to see creepy 3D pics, ha!

Tummy is hard as a rock tonight. So much to do in so little time before we leave! Hard leaving the house for a month and getting ourselves organized!

I have a doctor's appt Thursday, looking forward to another weight check-in, and hopefully everything is all good! I am assuming I will get my GD test results, which I am assuming were ok as I didn't hear from them. We have to go pay for our birthing classes before we go to ensure we reserve a spot! 4 weeks in September, going later, but best we could do with our trip in the way!

I am stressing (slightly!) about travel insurance and making sure I am covered (and heaven forbid, our LO if delivered) while we are away.

Hey Girls! I had my 28 week appointment today! I got the results back from my glucose test, no gestational diabetes! I may have celebrated tonight by baking brownies :). Weight was good, up about 2 lbs from my last appointment, so overall I am still down 11 lbs. I start going every 2 weeks now! I won't have any more u/s unless something is wrong or doesn't seem right.

As for classes, I'm a nerd and researcher so I was excited about them. We have already done an infant care class together and I did a BF class last week. We have a pet class this week and infant CPR next week. We start childbirthing classes in August and will have them every Monday night for 4 weeks. Definitely starting to feel ready!!!

Advice on registering... Set it up online first! Then go in and update. Way easier to research stuff online and the stores are OVERWHELMING!

On registering, it is definitely overwhelming going to the store to register. DH and I spent 2 hours in BRU over the weekend. At least I had researched the big items we wanted, but everything else was overwhelming. I found this registry list to be helpful:

    http://www.naptimetales.com/2012/04/must-have-baby-registry-items.html

27 weeks today! Feeling good but baby is starting to feel heavy and the round ligament pain is pretty killer. Had my 28 week appointment yesterday, I did pass my glucose test, so I was very happy about that! Jumped 8 lbs this month, but hadn't gained any in 2 months so they were happy to see that. Baby is measuring spot on, and doc said head is now down! My iron was very low, so I need to up my meat/spinach/ect intake. They don't want me to take a supplement if I don't need too since I haev dealt with constipation through my pregnancy, hopefully the food works.
