@mrskc: @jessiejo17: Thanks ladies, I"m going for the 3 hour tomorrow so should know by Friday. I'm not too concerned, I've read a lot about people who failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour so fingers crossed!

@jessiejo17: Glad you passed!! Do you like those green monster smoothies? I feel like they would have a lot of iron in them, since they're spinach based.

@hilsy85: bummer! hopefully you pass the 3-hr - may have just been a weird day.

@mrskc: great link! thanks! i've been using a few different ones & pooling them, along with friends recos - and I think i'm DONE with my registry now! so relieved... here are the links I looked at:
    http://designforminikind.com/the-ultimate-baby-registry/

    http://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/2011/08/motherhood-mondays-what-to-register-for.html

Found them super helpful! I tried to not over-register myself, but ended up with a lot of stuff.

@Beebug: Wow! Long trip - sounds great --- enjoy!!

@jessiejo17: did they do a blood test to test your iron? I haven't had any blood drawn in a while - but maybe at my appt next week @ 27 weeks.

I'm also doing my glucose test next Wednesday!

@hilsy85: I am horrible about keeping up on smoothies, but I need to go back to a green smoothie one daily! I do know I have cut out steak and stuff since I hate that it has to be well done, but looks like I need to introduce it back in and suck it up.

@hellobeeboston: Yup I think when they do the 1 hour glucose test they also test for anemia.

    @hellobeeboston: Great links! Thank you.

@jessiejo17: I've been making scrambled eggs every morning with spinach in them. My iron levels were fine. I think dried fruit and beans have iron as well.

@hellobeeboston: They poked my finger (I got my glucose test results within minutes, they do them at the office) and put blood into two slides, one for glucose and one to test iron. I have to get blood drawn this week again for rH negative so they were going to have them test my iron again to see if me changing my diet worked.

@mrskc: ooh good idea, I will have to add that to my breakfast!

@jessiejo17: They have to do another blood draw for rH neg? Is that after the Rhogam shot? I have my shot in 2 weeks.

@mrskc: We leave Friday for the cottage, it's 2 of 20 hours into the big drive, staying there for a night or two (weather dependent and how we're feeling!) and then will begin the trek! We are in Ontario, and going to drive through NE US, stay in Bangor, ME for the night (shop!) and then finish the drive (hopefully!) the next day! So we will arrive in Nova Scotia either late Sunday, or late Monday, I am hoping late Monday as I would like to stay at the cottage two nights and then leave super early Sunday morning to get the drive going!

@hilsy85: I hope the 3 hour test goes better for you! @hellobeeboston: I got my iron levels tested the same time as the glucose test...I'm a little low, but not low enough for supplements. Nurse just said to eat my spinach!

A lady I work with just HAD to share a birth horror story today...and I just glared at her and said "why would you tell me that?!"....she then quickly apologized. (I may have been a little rough on her...but, hey, preggo hormones!)

@mrskc: I'm not sure why the reasoning was for another, but it's before my Rhogam shot, I will have that in 2 weeks. This has to be done this day, they mentioned checking my antibodies? I should have asked for clarification but it was at the end of my appointment.

@jessiejo17: Interesting. My doc didn't say anything about a blood test. I'm just scheduled to get my shot at 28 weeks.

hey ladies! hope everyone is doing well on this Thursday!

Hilsy - when do you go back for your 3hr test?

My 1-hr is next week and I've just been thinking about how many carbs I eat all the time, and that I'd better shape up my diet!

Had a registry surprise today - I finally finalized it this weekend and my mom just got in my shower invites & is about to send them out - she bought me our stroller, and I was checking it just one more time - and realized someone bought me the breast pump! A big ticket item! So exciting... I'm wondering if it was my aunt who lives in TX who I saw this past weekend...

We're working on the nursery this weekend -- should be fun! I just need to get through work today & tomorrow, ughhh!

  15. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@hellobeeboston: I actually did it today...it wasn't too terrible, the worst part was just not being able to drink anything. I also have awesome matching bruises on both arms now! That's so exciting about your shower/registry gifts! My in-laws had ordered our crib last week and it got here yesterday, and our stroller should be here tomorrow--I'm so excited to play with it!

  16. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@hilsy85: oh good - when do you get results? we got our crib & stroller too! setting up the crib this weekend - but we may just leave the stroller in the box for a while, not sure where we're going to keep it!

are you going to set up the crib right away?

  17. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@hellobeeboston: We should hopefully hear back either tomorrow or Monday. I am really really hoping that I passed!!

We have not set up the crib yet--we're painting the nursery, and will get that done first. But then I think we will probably set it up sometime in early August--we're going away for a week at the end of the month and our bedding set should have arrived by then.

    Hi ladies!

Had my 28w appt today, measuring bang on 28cm and weight was 170lbs on the nose (up 30lbs pre-preg). Heartbeat was around 120 for the baby, she's been low like that before (3D Monday, and previous appt 4 weeks ago) and my doctor said to just always ensure we're getting movement! It's a low hb rangewise, but could just be a calm baby -here's hoping!

GD 1 hour results were 6.8 (I guess under 10 is normal/pass?) so I was right that no news, is good news.

Nothing else exciting to report, she gave me a printout of my preg health record to keep on me while we're traveling, heaven forbid! One more day of work!!

DH was sanding like crazy today, won't get the change table refinished by the time we leave, but at least it will be sanded!

    @hilsy85: yay! Awesome news!

I'm relaxin on the beach right now. It's our babymoon weekend get away. DH is getting a massage right now. I just got a prenatal massage and it felt amazing! DH even came in the last 20 min so the massage therapist could show him how to do it at home. hope you all have a great weekend!

@Beebug: I'm jealy over here. I wanna go to a cottage!!! Have fun:)))

So I have been experiencing SO MUCH FATIGUE lately and I was wondering why...because I have felt so good for so long. Turns out: I'm in my 3rd trimester! I didn't even realize that I am 28+2. That might explain why it is getting harder to breathe...harder to walk (I wobble) and harder to sleep:(((
But at the same time that means that I have less than 12w until I meet baby:) yay!

Have any of you noticed your ability to eat has tapered off some? I still have an appetite but I think because baby is so big that I can't stuff so much in my stomach anymore.
I find myself eating a bunch of super small meals. Its actually not fun. Because I'll go out to lunch and only be able to eat half a sandwich because i'll feel STUFFED....and then 25m after leaving the restaurant, I'll again, be hungry for more food. ugh!

@TurtleDoves: Yay for the third tri! You're a couple weeks ahead of me, but I do notice I get full faster. Or if I eat what I would normally eat, I feel so incredibly full and gross.

The hubs and I are back from our weekend getaway. It went by way too fast and it felt so amazing to get out of this 100 degree weather.

I made a new discovery. I've started leaking colostrum. I was laying on my side cuddling with DH and I felt something wet on my arm. Then noticed I had a big wet spot on my shirt. Squeezed my boob a little, and it started leaking out! Craziness! Anyone else experience this yet?

@TurtleDoves: I am 28w1d and have been feeling really exhausted except for at night when I get a sudden burst of energy which really stinks! I haven't been sleeping well for a few weeks now. Last night was the best sleep I have had in weeks and I woke up at least 7 times and was in bed from 11pm-5am. I think my body is preparing me early for LO's arrival and lack of sleep I will be getting then.

  30. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@TurtleDoves: I have noticed I get tired easily, but luckily I"m still sleeping good. (29+3) I have switched to smaller meals for awhile now since I feel full faster as well, baby's growing and taking up all the space

  31. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@TurtleDoves: i have totally noticed this lately. I will be super hungry - but if I eat too much I am in major pain - it's not good....so lots of small meals! I find I'm eating cereal before I go to work, then I'm really hungry again around 11/11:30 -- will have half a bagel, then I'll get lunch around 1:30 or so.... I just eat all day! I'm sure in the coming weeks its going to get worse as I get bigger!

I have been having issues sleeping the past week, week & a half. It's not cool. I wake up only once or twice to pee - but now my hips are starting to kill me from sleeping on my side. So I will switch sides, only to wake up a couple hours later with that hip hurting, so I'll switch again. I don't know what to do! I have the snoogle - but have been experimenting with pillows & hot showers before bed... hopefully it will get better! OR this is very early preparation for the interrupted sleep that is coming.

@mrskc: no! not having this yet!

so glad i'm not alone in the weird 3rd trimester eating change!

@mrskc: I started to have this super early on...like 20w. But it is so little that I can't say I even notice it most times. I usually just find the remains of it in my bra when I shower in the evenings. ..Not fun. The other day I was wear a thin bra and a cami over it. And before we left DH is like...."put a breast pad on! You might leak!" (ugh-breast pads feel weird by the way). I wish I had ever educated him on breast pads; now he thinks he's a pro

  33. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@TurtleDoves: I must have just been laying in the right position to wet my shirt so much. Since then it's just been a few drops and I did notice a little on my bra. Too funny about your DH. Mine has been fascinated by it and has tried to squeeze some out of my boob. haha

  34. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrskc: I haven't had this yet...but there's still time, lol. My DH is also fascinated by the idea of breast milk!

@Mrs.B: I was just thinking the same thing last night re: getting prepared for sleepless nights...lately I've been waking up to go to the bathroom and am unable to fall asleep for like an hour or two after getting back into bed. It sucks!!

When does third tri start? My due date is 3 months away from today (eek!) so does that mean I start my 7th month today/tomorrow? Or is it at 28 weeks?

  35. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@hilsy85: I was told it is after week 27, so I took it by the start of week 28, however some places I read they took that as 27+1 as 3rd trimester!

I don't know why, but suddenly (last few night's) I am waking up flat out on my back! I haven't slept on my back in so long, I use pillows to keep me from my back, yet am still ending up on it...! Silly!

Glad to be done with the road trip, DH and I made it safe and sound to the East coast and I got to meet my preemie nephew for the first time last night! His actual due date was yesterday, and he is 2 months old today! Such a sweetie, makes me so nervous/excited/anxious for our girl, excited to spend time with nephew the few weeks we're here!

    squash / 13764 posts

@jessiejo17: Ok thanks! On thebump.com it has me as in my 3rd tri now...so I guess I'll go with that

@Beebug: I still sleep on my back for at least part of every night. Sometimes it's the only way for me to be comfortable. Glad your nephew is doing well!

  38. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

Had a little freakout last night, I wasn't feeling her move as much as normal, so I had to lay down and count the movement, once the kicks it or if she was taking a long sleep, but my heart was in my throat for that hour! Her heartrate was slightly down at my last appointment so that is in the back of my head as well (nothing the doc was alarmed about, but the lowest it has ever been.)

  39. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@hilsy85: Glad I am not alone on that, I find my back so comfortable to sleep on, thankfully I sleep ok pretty much every way, but know I shouldn't be on my back too much.

Heartburn (I think that's what it is?) is insane lately, that has got to be my only preggo complaint right now!

I ordered a sling from sevenslings a few weeks ago, and tried on my SILs last night also from them, so excited! I hope she likes the sling as I hope to wear her around lots!

  40. CarrieLouWho

@Hilsy - I have NEVER slept on my back and since I've been pregnant, I wake up all the time on my back. So weird! My doc said it was fine, if I had an issue my body would know to move.

@JessieJ - So sorry you had a scare! I haven't really been keeping track of movements too much, but there are times where I feel the same way... haven't felt her move and I can't remember when the last time I did. The worry of motherhood starts so early!

I also had a scare last week. I went to the bathroom and had a decent amount of bright red blood when I wiped. I called the doc and they had me come in. She did a check and said it was not an active bleed that a capillary probably broke. I didn't have any more bleeding, but boy was I wigged out.... but glad I went right in to the doc.

Hope ya'll are having a good week!
