@sslm: Aw Congrats girl! So happy for you! Been rooting for you behind the scenes. Totally understand that you would want to avoid this thread and all things pregnancy related.

@jessiejo17: @TurtleDoves: You ladies are on top of things! You all really make me feel like a procrastinator!

@mrskc: Honestly, its because I am loosing energy more and more by the week and I am getting more and more sore/uncomfortable. So, my game plan is to have everything baby related done by like 34weeks. That way---when I am in my last 6 weeks I can just plop down in bed and sleep.

Hi ladies! Just checking in from our baby moon dh is still sleeping, while after tossing and turning on my hips for a few hours, I couldn't take it any more--sleep may be going downhill from this point on.

@TurtleDoves: Packing the hospital bag, so exciting! My goal is to do that around 32 weeks...first I need to figure out what goes in it, lol.

Also, I think dh and I have decided to use a doula for our birth. Is anyone else using one?

@TurtleDoves: Yay for packing your hospital bag! I have been slowly getting everything ready for mine. I have the list of everything that I need to pack but I haven't accomplished packing it yet. I still need to get a few nursing sleep bras to stick in and a few things for DH. I also have to pack a bag for DS since he will be staying with some friends of ours. I'm not sure when I will accomplish that.

My "Sprinkle" is this Saturday I am SOOOOO excited. We still only have 4 things missing from our registry but I'm trying not to think about that to much. Someone did buy our bassinet though and I am WAY excited about that.

    Anyone elses showers coming up?

@Mrs.B: I have a shower this Sunday and next Sunday. I have been trying not to look at the registry but who am I kidding, I dont' have will power. Both our rock and play and swing were bought this week! Super excited about that!

@hilsy85: Ugh hip pain is the worst. I've been dealing iwth it for a few weeks now. Last night was my first night with the Boppy wedge (snoogle and body pillow didn't help). My right hip was better, but my left still suffered. Maybe enjoy a nap or 2 on your babymoon. Vacation naps are the best in my opinion!

My shower isn't until September. Not going to lie - had a hormonal meltdown last night b/c I kind of hate the invitations that were sent out...oh pregnancy.

  7. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@hilsy85: Enjoy the rest of your vacation! Maybe take a nap later.

@Mrs.B: My shower isn't until Sept 8th. I'll be 33 weeks then. Have fun at your sprinkle this weekend!

  8. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Mrs.B: My shower is in 26 days! Can't wait:)

@jessiejo17: I am a total registry stalker....like insanely. I only have 18 more items on my registry and I started off with 49. So, I got lots of things! And pretty much no more big ticket items are on my registry so if I don't get the 18 items...they won't be a big deal at all *phew!*

@Tidybee: Why? what's wrong with the invites? I'm sure they are just fine hehe:) But if you need to have a breakdown-I won't stop you:) We can cry together: I don't ever need a "reason" to meltdown.

  9. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@TurtleDoves: that is so nice! I still have quite a bit left, but bigger ticket items are being bought so that is nice! Still wanting video monitors, bouncy seat, and pack in play but those aren't necessary for right away so I'm pretty happy so far!

@hilsy85: Enjoy the babymoon! i hear ya on the hip pain - UGH - i've been dealing with the same issue - some nights its worse than others - but I find myself waking up a lot switching from side to side.

@Tidybee: sorry to hear you don't like the invites! that sucks - but it's not really a big deal... although, to be honest, I was worried what my mom was going to do, and I'm a graphic designer, so I just designed them & sent them to her - ha!

my shower isn't until august 26th but we've gotten a few gifts already! got our breast pump, baby bjorn, and a few misc items! so fun getting packages in the mail!

in other news it looks like I passed my glucose test! phew... I did it last wednesday and they said they would only call if I failed within 3 days - so I guess I'm good! I also gained SIX pounds last month - yikes.

Hey girls! Sorry I've been MIA! Work is sooooo crazy. I come home and I just want to sleep. I've been having the hip issues too, no more sleeping in for this sleepy-head.

I put up paint swatches last night in the nursery, no we just need to pick one and get that room painted so we can get going! My first shower is this Saturday, I can't wait! I have another next weekend and the following weekend (that's what happens when your family is all crazy-divorced and you live out of town!).

I also finally ordered our glider today! Of course, it's not going to get here until mid-September, so we'll be cutting it close... but my fingers are crossed!

@SSLM - Sooooo happy for you!!! Praying for a sticky baby! And April is a great birthday month!!!

  12. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

@TurtleDoves: @hellobeeboston: thanks for the reassurance. I know they're fine deep down, but they're nothing that I would have ever picked for myself or let be mailed. I'm not a graphic designer but I would be in my second life. I do have a love/obsession for stationary, paper "stuff" and adorable invites/cards/thankyous, etc. so it was just disappointing to see something that looked so plain, blah, and cheap sent out. Side note - there is drama surrounding the shower anyway because my MIL is hosting it and not involving my mom/sisters as much as we thought she would.

  13. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@CarrieLouWho: wow! 3 showers! it will be fun - i think the hardest part will be keeping up the enthusiasm for that long - haha...

@Tidybee: UGH - i hate drama when it comes to happy family events - but we all have it... Just have fun & enjoy - and pick out or make some super cute thank you notes, and think ahead to another super cute birth announcement that you have control over!

  14. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@TIDYBEE - that's the worst! I hate family drama and inevitably you get pulled in when they should leave you out! I agree w/ @HBBoston - get some cute stationary for thank you notes and start working on that birth announcement!!!

  15. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@hellobeeboston: i think your suggestion of super cute thank you cards is AWESOME! It'll totally make up for it:)
I keep thank you cards but rarely do I keep anyone's invite.

@CARRIELOUWHO: at least your family was smart enough to have separate showers because they are divorced. My parents divorced when I was an older (teen=17) so this is new to me. Do you understand how awkward all my events are? I have like 2 step grandmas, 2 step grandpas, step dads and step moms, half siblings, and full.....Ahh...and all the divorcees just act all chummy which makes things more confusing. Thank goodness my "family" shower is over:)))

    Hi ladies!

Just checking in from the East Coast

I was terribly sick two nights ago, thought we were going to have to go to the hospital, we were on Cape Breton Island and no hospital nearby, it was a very not cool time.....I was pretty sure how sick I was wasn't baby related, just heat and over-doing it related, and thankfully it passed about 3am, and I was ok last night thankfully! I had a full day of no movement Saturday too, BILs wedding day, and so I was SO freaked. But we were in the boonies and really nothing I could do about it.....Sunday she was back moving around on her usual schedule....what a drama queen she is sometimes.....of all days!

Seeing DHs family for the first time here preggo, the belly is getting lots of love.

We may have picked a new name! DH is from the East Coast (where we are now!) and Ceilidh (pronounced like the name Kaleigh/Cayley/Kayley -lots of spellings!) is what we're thinking! We would love to do it the Gaelic spelling, but know that would be a lifetime of her name pronounced wrong (seal-deh is how my step dad said it before knowing how it was said, ha!!) so we are thinking Kaleigh/Kayley (personally I like ending it with leigh, but not sure of C or K and if a Y in there is necessary! So we shall see!

Thank-you for all the crib bedding thoughts, I am still on a mission to purchase something in the next week or so and have it shipped home to arrive there for when we return mid-August!

I hope you are all doing well, time is just flying on by, our babies will be in our arms so soon!!!

@hilsy85: Re: the hip pain...I may have found a solution. DH bought the Boppy wedge (I was trying to hold off spending the money and using pillows instead.). I tried it the first night under my belly - no luck. He suggested putting it under my back to keep my top hip from rolling back and causing the pain in the bottom hip. It was annoying to sleep with - but NO hip pain! I slept til 5am (quite a feat these days).

@Tidybee: that's exactly what I do at home, but I didn't bring my boppy pillow on vacation oh well, I've been doing better the last night or two! @Beebug: Glad you're feeling better! That piggy bank is so cute!

Morning ladies! I'm 28 weeks today! Third trimester officially. I have to go to the doctor today and get my RhoGAM shot since I'm Rh negative. I've been feeling great lately and the little guy likes to move around a lot. He actually woke me up a couple of times last night with his gymnastics. So who else is a big slacker like me and hasn't found a pediatrician yet? This is stressing me out for some reason. When am I supposed to find the time to visit their offices when I work all day?!

  23. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrskc: Yay! Doesn't 28 weeks feel so far along? I can't believe we'll be 30 weeks soon! I also have no found a pedi yet, and am not planning on looking for another few weeks at least...there are two practices in our area, so it's just a matter of setting up appointments with them. I figure I'll do that around 32/33 weeks.

How's everyone else doing? We just got back from our babymoon/vacation. We had SUCH a great time and it was so nice hanging out in a pool during the heat. Now back to reality! On the bright side, our crib is assembled and the nursery is painted! I'll have to post pics later

  24. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@hilsy85: glad you had fun on your vacay! I'd love to see nursery pics!
Our nursery is done and my bag is packed but his clothes are...slackin. He needs some outfits still but i'm just taking my time and enjoying that...no need to rush that too.

  25. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

I had my 30 week appointment on Friday and everything is going great! I had my first shower this weekend and it was so much fun! We got a lot off of the registries
Now we just have to get the nursery painted this week so I can put stuff away!! I'm hoping we get it painted this week... Otherwise I might go insane!
@MrsKC... We are going to an open house on the 21st for a peds practice, and I think that's all we are going to do. I'm really hoping I like them, if not I will have some work to do!!!

    clementine / 961 posts

I am 30 weeks and still have yet to pick a pedi. Is that bad? I just figured Baby will go to the same one as DS.

I had my "sprinkle" this weekend and it was fun but I won't lie it was slightly disapointing. I only got 4 things of my registry and no gift cards :(. I just got a bunch of clothes even though we are team green! Booo :(. My Dad did buy us our bassinet so I was very grateful for that. So now we are making our must get list and we will probably get everything this week sometime.

  27. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@hilsy85: can't wait to see the nursery!
@TurtleDoves: wow - you are impressive! i feel like SUCH a slacker, nursery is only 1/4 done, haven't even thought about the bag yet - signed up for all of our classes, but they're not until september, don't have a daycare/nanny figured out - eeek!

and we also don't have a Ped picked yet... I am awaiting a reco from a friend of a friend that lives in my town, and I want to meet with a few in person.

@Mrs.B: sorry to hear it was disappointing... my shower is a few weeks away, but I keep hearing from my mom and my husband that my aunts & sisters in law are "doing their own thing" - and not buying off the registry..... grr. luckily my mom and my MIL have been awesome and bought us most of the big things!

  28. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

I had my first shower today and it went really well! Got a couple bigger items and some cute clothes. I was happy with the turn out!

Also, majority of our hospital bag is packed and nursery is 80% complete.

  29. CupQuakeWalk

    coconut / 8475 posts

@Mrs.B: I just DON'T UNDERSTAND why people buy for clothes for parents who are team green. I mean....you will buy either pink or blue clothes after the baby is born right? So, why would they get you gender neutral clothes as if the baby is going to be gender neutral until their 2? Really you'll probably only use gender neutral clothing until the babe is like 2w and then go out and get stuff that's gender specific. It just doesn't make sense to me. ...especially when there is a registry they *could* have followed.
End Rant. Thanks for reading hehe:) Can you tell I am a total registry nazi?

  30. Mrs.B

    clementine / 961 posts

@TurtleDoves: Exactly! I was pretty annoyed. I appreciate the gifts BUT now I have to go threw the hassle of trying to return the stuff that I will not use because I didn't want it in the first place.

On a happier note I did have my maternity shoot yesterday and my photog posted a teaser pic on facebook for me.

  31. mrskc

You ladies make me feel like less of a slacker now. lol I do need to find a ped soon though. I'll have to make some phone calls this week.

@hilsy85: Glad you enjoyed your babymoon!

I'm jealous you all are having showers already. Mine is september 8th. My mom just ordered the invites yesterday and they should be out in the mail by the end of the week. Yay! I've been spending a lot of time fine tuning my registry. I'm crossing my fingers I get a call from BBB that my glider is in so we can go pick up the crib and glider.

@MRSKC... if you want a positive spin on having your shower in September... it's that you'll get some more fall appropriate clothing! We got quite a few outfits that were newborn or 3 months are SUPER summery - like sleeveless and thin. I'm thinking I'll be taking those back. October may not be cold here in VA, but it's definitely not going to be sleeveless weather!
You'll get tons of cute fall stuff, I'm sure!!!

  34. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@CarrieLouWho: Totally true! Didn't think about that. I don't think people think of the seasons when buying baby clothes.

    @MrsKC - they don't... at all! It's just about the cuteness & tininess :o)

@Mrs.B: I thought one of the perks of being Team Green was you actually got things from your registry at the shower instead of a gazillion outfits. Maybe you can return them for store credit?@mrskc: Our shower is the 8th as well! Things just started disappearing from our registry...someone already got us the BOB!
@hilsy85: glad you had a great babymoon. Welcome back to the stickiness of NYC summers!
I still have yet to pick a pediatrician as well. That's on the ever growing list of things to do this week.
