So - this weekend it was SO HOT in the northeast, it was like 90% humidity and I could only be in the A/C or in the ocean to keep cool.... my rings were tight & I was worried about them - so I took my e-ring off (my wedding band is looser) - and now I can't get it back on!

So sad! I'm hoping that when the weather cools off a bit I may be able to get it back on - or maybe my hands are just swelling from the pregnancy?!

Anyone else have to take off their ring(s)??

my husband joked about picking out a new e-ring (fake) just for fun to wear that's bigger - i'm considering it! haha... I actually have a few friends who bought fake (larger) rings while preggo....

@hellobeeboston: I'm still wearing my rings. A few times they were pretty tight and I could barely get them off. But I would totally buy a stand in if they stop fitting!

@hellobeeboston: Mine have been off since the 4th of July! I had my bands put together, so I went and bought a fake eternity band to wear for now! DH made a joke that I get more complements on it than my real one, I explained because it is clean and my ring was pretty dirty! haha

@CarrieLouWho: @hellobeeboston: Thanks!! @hellobeeboston: my rings are still on, but I've developed what I think is called "Wedding ring dermatitis" (it's actually called that!)--the skin underneath is really itchy and dry and red, apparently from moisture/soap being trapped after I wash my hands So that's made my finger swollen at times, and has made it uncomfortable to wear my rings when it flares up.

Shockingly, I can still wear my rings... they are actually a little loose in the morning. My hands always swell in the summer and my rings get tight, it's so weird it hasn't happened yet. I was actually looking forward to getting a fake ring!

@Hilsy85 - I've never heard of that before, but boy does that stink!

@hilsy85: L.O.V.E. that wall in the Nursery! Looks great so far!!

Guess who finally got something done? Registry is complete! DH and I went in store last week to BRU here in Nova Scotia, and it was an unreal store compared to the one we have in Ontario! Added about 20 things, then did the rest online Monday this week. Done, done, done!

Also purchased our rocker for the nursery! Going "old school" with a classic wooden rocker, pine with a dark brown stain! Picking that up when we get home.

Really starting to get the "execution list" together of everything that needs to be done (in order of what needs to be done) to get that nursery done when we get home. Two more days here in NS, then to PEI, Sunday we begin the drive back to Ontario!

Baby was moving like a wildwoman yesterday, have never felt so much movement, it felt like 5+ hours of movement as I lazed on the couch, it was pretty dang cool.

Have to take a pic of the mat I purchased yesterday, too dang cute!

I bought it at a little boutique store in DH's hometown, it was 50% off, reclaimed wool products re-made into baby/kid stuff!

Here is the site where the blanket is from: http://www.cateandlevi.com/baby-blankets_13categ.html

They had a bunny one as well, but too pink...! Trying to keep it somewhat neutral, the bits of purple through this one are plenty!

I had to take my rings off for a day on this trip, I thought I would have had to take them off (and keep them off) by now, but happily still wearing them!

I go back to work a week today....been off since July 20! Crazy to think I will have less than 2 months of work (likely 6-7 weeks) left to work pre-maternity leave.....so exciting!!

@hilsy85: a friend of mine had that! she took her rings off and it cleared up eventually, then she wore a looser fitting ring until after the baby.

@hilsy85: I've never heard of that! Doesn't sound like fun. Does moving your ring and making sure you dry underneath it after you wash your hands help?

@Beebug: Aw that little mat is too cute.

  13. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrskc: it probably would help, but I haven't been so good at doing that...I think I need to keep my rings off for a few days and make sure to moisturize, and maybe that will help.

@hilsy85: I get the same thing in the summer. Sometimes there's not much I can do to help it, but I just make sure to dry my fingers, making sure to get under the rings after washing my hands. It's annoying and kinda gross. Fortunately the rings hide it!

I have baby on the brain today! It's all I can think about. I've found that it's really hard to concentrate at work because all I can think about is this baby. I'm running to do lists in my head, trying to think if I've written everything down. It feels like back when I was planning my wedding and all I could think about was the wedding.

@mrskc: I am the same way, I finally decided to breakdown and use a vacation day on Friday to give myself a break from work. I have been saving them for maternity leave, but I need a day to clear my brain and do something fun for me (take my nieces to the zoo!)

@jessiejo17: I can't take anymore vacation days at work, but I'm trying to work in more fun stuff with my DH before the baby arrives. I do keep a notebook at my desk where I jot down baby related things to help clear my head. But I'm glad I'm not the only one like this!

@mrskc: Oh i have lists all of the place, hospital packing, stuff we need to get (even though showers are don't yet), ect. it's getting out of hand haha I need these next 8 weeks to fly by!

@hilsy85: Your nursery looks SO cute so far! I love that wall!!! @Beebug: Such an adorable blanket! And it's different than what I've seen before

@mrskc: @jessiejo17: I’m there too. It’s SO hard to concentrate on anything else!!!

I’m getting so anxious to meet our guy! I’m 30 weeks today and just itching for him to be here. Is anyone else getting impatient? When I see birth stories or pictures of babies I’m so jealous and ready for it to be out turn to actually have him outside.

We’re almost all settled in the new house. Baby’s room is painted, crib is up, rug is in, rocker cushions are recovered and in place…My mom is working on sewing curtains and I’m working on framing some things for the walls. DH is going to put in bookshelves before this weekend. My shower is on Saturday! I can’t wait

I’m feeling SO tired. I’m sure part of it is being this far in the game but another contributing factor is that our AC is broken in the new house…has been since Saturday. It’s covered by our home warranty. A technician came out to look at it yesterday, ordered a part and will be fixing it on Thursday. It’s supposed to be 105 here today and 107 tomorrow. And we can’t fall asleep until AT LEAST 11 because it doesn’t cool down much before then….so miserable.

@Running Elley: Definitely getting anxious for her arrival, although she needs to bake longer! haha I'm 32 weeks on Friday and the more it drops down the more I"m just like okay it's been long enough lets get this baby out and in our arms!

Sorry for being so annoying posting pictures, but I have officially gone over the taking on too much ledge!

Bought this fabric this afternoon, screw buying crib bedding, I'm going to do it myself!

They was $15.90/yard regular price, I got it for $6! Thrilled! I think it's cute, girly, but not crazy girly I don't think, no idea how much I needed so bought all that was there, 8 yards, and we'll see how far along I get with that! Should be plenty for crib sheet, non-ruffled crib skirt, window valence, ribbon/cork board and change table cushion cover! See what's left from there, might be enough to do some quilt work with.....but I will leave that to someone else! Will trim it with white likely, and goodness I am excited to see how it will turn out!

This will go with white nursery furniture well I think (hope!)

@Running Elley: I'm not to that point where I'm anxious to meet him yet. I actually don't want this last trimester to go by too fast. I think that once I feel more prepared for him, then I'll feel more anxious. If that makes sense? Sounds like the nursery is coming along! You must be dying in this heat! I'm not looking forward to the 110 they're forecasting this weekend.

    Here's my update:

    - Buy Buy Baby is seriously slow in getting my glider in! It was supposed to be here 2 weeks ago. They told me monday for sure but I'm not getting my hopes up. My crib has been sitting at their store since june! I should've just ordered this stuff from somewhere local. But I had their dang coupons and it seemed like a good idea at the time.
    - I have a 29 week appointment tomorrow
    - We start childbirth preparation classes on Saturday!
    - I have an appt w/ a possible pediatrician on Thursday.
    - Registry is complete! And baby shower invites are going out this week.

I don't think I've hit the impatient stage, but I think that's only because we don't have the nursery done yet. Once we get that set up, I will feel much better and ready for her to get here.

I am finally starting to feel really pregnant. Sitting at my desk at work for long periods of time is killing my back. Having to stand and give presentations for work is also starting to take it's toll. Definitely not bad, but I'm feeling more and more pregnant. I'm also always ready for a nap, especially late afternoon!!

We started our childbirth class on Monday and it was good. But I was exhausted after being at work all day and then sitting in class for 3 hours. We have infant CPR tomorrow night.

@CarrieLouWho: I'm also just feeling "pregnant." Short of breath, tired after walking, sore hips at night...it's like the third trimester came in with a bang.
@mrskc: I too can't seem to concentrate on anything that is not baby related. We're getting so close...but still have a ways to go...which is also fine with me.

Yeah... forgot to mention the total baby brain, it's all I think about. I'm trying hard not to make it the only thing I talk about :o)

I just got back from my 28 week ob visit. I couldn't see my regular doctor b/c she had an emergency at the hospital, so I saw another doc in the practice. I was feeling pretty good about myself having gained 4 lbs in from my 24 week appt (exactly 4 weeks ago). The doc then says it was a little too much of a gain! Seriously?? 4 lbs in 4 weeks? I thought it was standard to gain a pound a week Plus, I'm only up 18 overall, and I'm normal weight to begin with so it's not like I'm entering into "dangerous" territory or anything.
While I'm bothered, I'm still treating myself to an ice cream outing with DH tonight.

@Tidybee: That seems crazy! 18 pounds is a SUPER reasonable weight to have gained thus far in pregnancy...I would definitely ignore the doctor and enjoy your ice cream

We signed up for our hospital tour, yay! We go August 22nd. We also need to figure out when we're doing our childbirth classes--we'll be doing these with our doula, so we just need to work out a time that works best for all of us. I feel like that will make it seem much more real!

I was also just watching A Baby Story and teared up watching one of the mothers hold her baby for the first time. I can't wait for that--I am definitely joining some of you in the "impatient/antsy" camp! I feel like this third trimester will be draaaagging by!

  28. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@Tidybee: Screw that doctor! You enjoy your ice cream. 4 lbs in 4 weeks sounds right on track.

29 weeks today for me! I go see my OB later today. I'm wondering if I'll switch to every two weeks or not. When did your OB start seeing you every other week?

  29. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

@mrskc: I am just a few days behind you, and I thought today she'd tell me to come back in 2 weeks, but she said 4 weeks which puts me at 32 (almost 33) weeks.

@Tidybee: Enjoy the ice cream! Hopefully next time you see your reg doctor they will reassure that they weight gain is fine! I weighed myself today on my SILs scale (usually never weigh myself, except when I have to at doctor!) and I was 178lbs! That's an "up" of 38lbs total.....I am so not bothered by it at all.....and have not been told my weight gain is bad, 18 should be fine, and definitely 1lb/week is what I have heard as well!

  32. Beebug

@mrskc: I go to my doctor Tuesday, and after that will begin to go every two weeks! Because we're away, it would have been sooner, but she was on vacay, as are we! I think 30w is when she wanted to go to every other!

@Tidybee: so lame. My doctor told me something similiar. I had gained 19lbs at 27w!! (pretty good, right?) and she was like..."wooh, slow doooown". I'm like....come on lady....I'm still very much in the safe zone. I was super small pre-pregnancy too. They are tough sometimes.

@Tidybee: I was up 32lbs. at my 28 weeks apt. My Dr. has said it's more then she would like but since baby is doing fine she isn't worried. Her only input was that it will take longer for me to loose it once LO is born but I am well aware of that and willing to do the work.

@Running Elley: At a few days shy of 31 weeks I am SO ready to have our LO! I think being team green is making the anticipation so much worse! Ah I'm so ready to be in labor and have our little girl or boy. I'm trying to look at it this way I only have 6 weeks till I'm considered "full term" and only 9 weeks till my "due date" eeeek it's actually not to far but I wish it was here already!

@Mrs.B: @Beebug: @TurtleDoves: @hilsy85: @mrskc: Thanks for the reassurance!! DH and I are on our way out in a few minutes for our ice cream date...very much looking forward to it and feeling much better than I was this morning.

@Running Elley: anxious doesn't even describe it. I want to have him at full term, not my edd!! I want him noooow! I'm not ready yet though. We still have my big shower in 16days but as soon as we do that and I get his clothes washed, I'll be ready as far as supplies, packing and our house goes. I will start my red raspberry leaf tea too to strengthen uterin muscles and then start waiting around. Ugh---I bet these last 9w are going to drag by:(

My 29 week appt went well. I go back in 3 weeks. I feel accomplished today. We pre-registered at the hospital and met with a pediatrician who we like and will be using. So happy to cross a couple things off my to do list! I feeling more prepared now.

Hi ladies, quick question--are you buying sweaters in 3-6 months or 6-12 months? My mom bought this really cute chunky sweater for LO (http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=8777&vid=1&pid=914592&scid=914592002) in 6-12 months and I don't know whether to return it for 3-6 months? What are you guys doing? Is most of your heavier fall/winter stuff in 3-6 or 6-12? Gahh it's so hard when you know they'll outgrow this stuff and never be able to wear it again!

@hilsy85: I think you should return it for a 3-6 month.
