@nblchicago: @mango.sprays: So excited for your appointments tomorrow! It's totally anxiety-ridden while you're waiting but when the doctor finally said that's your uterus and that's your baby it was awesome. Can't wait for you to experience that.

@char54: So I found out that the reason I've had pretty bad cramping is because I have two (one really large) cysts on my left ovary from my last cycle. Usually you have one from where your egg released that sends out estrogen to your growing baby and will eventually go away, but I have two because I was on Clomid and ovulated multiple eggs. A cyst from where the egg released may be why you have bad cramps too.

@mango.sprays: Mine was only 6 weeks and 4 days! And if you haven't had severe pain by now, I'd figure you are in the clear when it comes to an ectopic.

@marionberry: Yeah, I really don't think it's happening again...I had been spotting for a week by this point, and it ruptured at 6w6d (no pain before that though!)....BUT I'll definitely use those worries to angle for an U/S if they don't plan on one already...
Interesting about the cysts! That has to be somewhat reassuring to have a reason for the bad cramping.

@marionberry: @mango.sprays: I was having lot of cramping on my left side and when I went in for the super early ultra sound, I had a prominent cyst from egg release on that side (before that I was having lots of ectopic fears so that was as relief!)

@mango.sprays: hope you have an awesome appt, I bet they plan to do U/S anyways!

@mango.sprays: I think use whatever angle you need to get an u/s. It's so much more fun than just blood work or something. And yes, the cysts do totally explain why I'd get pains more in my ovaries than my uterus. Now I can stop worrying when I get them. Even my dr said, "I bet you're feeling those!"

@runnerd: I was having ectopic fears too! Good to know just a cyst that my dr swears will go away. We both were left ovary ovulaters lol.

@mango.sprays: Oh good - if your doc is on your side, I'm sure you'll get the U/S. So exciting!

@marionberry: That's great that you have an explanation for the cramping! I bet you're on cloud 9 right now. Enjoy it!!! Have you shared the news yet with family??

@MamaMagpie: I was so sad to read about your poor Frenchie! How old is he? I hope he has a speedy recovery. Hugs from my Frenchie to yours! Also - I find that my boobs are changing frequently too. Some days they feel huge and sore and others they're not as bad. Totes normal!

Well... I'm bleeding. I went for a run, and before I got in shower peed, when I wiped there was bright red blood and there is if I check internal. Nothing has got on my panty liner. I'm not panicked, but feel kind of numb. I'm not cramping AT ALL!! I had sex two days ago, and I know doc said BM could cause bleeding, but this is def more than the spotting I had before.

Should I call the dr? Should I just see if it goes away? I don't want to be the patient that panics over everything, and there isn't anything they can do if it is early sign of miscarriage... Ugh, trying to say calm.

@runnerd: I'd call your doctor. It's probably nothing, but I think for peace of mind it'd be worth a call.

@runnerd: Oh geez....I'm sorry you're having this scare! I guess if it were me....I would call. Like you said, there's nothing that can be done, but they might want to see you tomorrow, or maybe offer some reassuring words? I know I've read about instances of bleeding during the first trimester and everything being fine. Maybe you're just somewhat prone to it? Either way, thinking good thoughts for you!

@marionberry: thanks for letting me know about the cysts! The cramps haven't been as bad but today and yesterday they started coming back. I'm thinking of going to my family doctor and asking a few q's about prescriptions and telling him about my cramps...maybe he'll send me for an ultrasound. I'm not sure if my first appointment (9 weeks) has an ultrasound or not and I DEFINITELY want to see/hear something to make sure everything is going as it should. I wonder if I call my OBS clinic and tell them about my cramps and flat out ask for an early ultrasound what they would say. I'll be thinking of you!!

@runnerd: I'm so sorry you have to worry about this...I'm thinking of you and sure everything will turn out fine..I had a bit of spotting a few weeks ago after we DTD and nothing since. I would call my Dr for my own peace of mind but everything I have read says spotting can be normal as long as its not a steady flow and paired with cramps.

@mrsmoreau: omgosh! I wanted to do that haha, so glad you made this link!!!

Well the spotting turned from red to brown this morning, so that's good. Waiting for my Dr office to call me back. I'm not too concerned really since I haven't had any cramping, but still can't help but be on edge

  32. mrsmoreau

@runnerd: sending sticky baby vibes your way.
i assume you ran quite frequently before, so excericise probably shouldn't be an issue... but maybe you should scale back your pace or distance for a bit. i am wondering if the running started the spotting?

  33. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@mrsmoreau: I've scaled both distance and pace back already, and now I've decided I'm not doing the two half marathons I had planned for this month. Maybe just a walker for awhile

May be completely unrelated but I've read several forums where spotting occured every time they ran, and their docs said the exercise was harmless, but to lay off for awhile in case something happened so they wouldn't have that added guilt.

  34. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@runnerd: Hmm you've got to do what works for you, and I agree I don't think I'd run with your symptoms. I haven't had any issues yet so it must vary by person/baby.

  35. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@jetsa: yea def not saying running is bad, I know lots who do up to 7-8 months. I've surprised myself by how much caution I've felt toward running

  36. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@runnerd: Oh yea I didn't think you meant that I've also really decreased my mileage. I have a half next Saturday but I want to check with my dr before I run too many miles in a week.

  37. MrsStormy

    clementine / 818 posts

@runnerd: I'm glad it turned to brown, and the fact that you didn't have any cramping is good! I can totally understand wanting to mellow your run just for your own personal peace of mind, you have to do whats both best for you and baby. I think its sort of like sex, it should be perfectly safe during pregnancy but I have known people who had some bleeding after and the doctor had them take a break. Its sort of strange how everything effects everyone differently. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you, I'm glad your not concerned, I think women have a good sense of their bodies and whats going on, so thats a GREAT sign!

    @mrsmoreau: Looks great, thanks!

Started to feel a little icky this morning, but I think it passed, hope its gone for good, but I wont hold my breath.

  38. Charm54

    cantaloupe / 6885 posts

@runnerd: I'm scaling back my running too. I've run a couple marathons, halfs and 10Ks but since Christmas I have totally been slacking because it's freezing outside and I hate doing any distances inside.

Now that it's warmer, I've convinced myself that I can't pick it up again b/c my body won't be used to it and it might hurt the baby. Totally crazy, I know, but I'm sticking to walking for my own peace of mind. Though I do miss running...
