@runnerd: I'm glad you're feeling better about the spotting. Brown is a good sign and no signs of cramping is great! I hear you on the scaling back the running and doing what it takes to give you peace of mind. Up until two weeks ago I was running ~20-25 miles/week (not as much as you I'm sure!). But ever since I had that one brown spotting scare, I've totally stopped. I've been waiting until my appointment today and will reassess my running after... I'm sure one has nothing to do with the other, but it just gives me peace of mind!

@mango.sprays:Woohoo Congrats!
@char54: This is totally me, I had taken a small break from my usually very strict workout routine (due to being sick, and being out of town and such around Christmas), but then I found out I was pregnant and now I'm too afraid to pick up the routine again since it had been awhile since I worked out. Plus my workout routine was mostly lifting weights and I lifted pretty heavy and then cardio, and I've heard mixed thing about heavy weights while pregnant. So now I'm just trying to talk myself into gearing up and doing a modified version of my workouts with lighter weights, and walking hills or something instead of running.

Nausea has hit me in full force today and the only way to keep it manageable is to eat something 24/7. Ugh. This is why I gained 13 lbs in my first tri last time. I was hoping to keep that under control this time around.

@LittleGBee: gymboree. it was on "sale" - that place is ridiculously priced haha. but so worth it! I bought the matching jeans too - couldn't help myself.

Just got back! I got to see the little baby and heartbeat but didn't get to hear it unfortunately. I got a picture of the yolk sac + blob of a baby. All is good - baby is measuring 1.76 cm and the heartbeat was normal. I feel such relief! I totally let out some tears with DH when the doctor left the room - mostly out of relief that everything looks normal for now. Next appointment is 2/26 - two days after we get back from Riviera Maya!

Ladies I feel awful - I've definitely come down with some sort of bug (which is not surprising when I work in an elementary school!) My throat is on fire, runny nose, chills...I'm too paranoid to take anything so I'm gargling with salt water, pumping the liquids and going to get a good night's sleep.
For any Canadians: A great resource to have is a number I found at Shoppers Drugmart last week: Motherisk Helpline - 1-877-439-2744 - They work out of Sick Kids hospital and have information as to the research/studies done on a whole bunch of medications.
I've called twice already (once to ask about my IBS medication and was told there was no research or studies done so not to take it unless the benefits outweighed the risks) and tonight to see what was safe to take for sore throats in the first trimester. They are super helpful and informative!
You can also pick up their wallet-size pamphlet at Shoppers which is jampacked with lots of great safety info! A great pocket resource.

Well got less than ideal call from the doctor. My u/s last wed showed about 3mm gest. sac. Today's was about 6mm. She said she would have preferred to see 9mm since I should be growing about 1mm a day, but that it wasn't necessary bad news. My bloodwork showed 4,000 hcg which is fine, but no previous bloodwork so I have to go back thurs with hopes of 7-8k hcg. So in doc's words we are in a gray zone. Feeling pretty deflated. Any prayers appreciated.

@runnerd: I'm thinking of you and your little one, and praying for good news on Thursday. Stay positive!

@runnerd: Praying for you and your little one. I would think any growth is good and that's a high hcg total. Try to stay positive. I'm sure you'll have a good hCG reading in two days.

@NBLChicago: Did they tell you bpm or just that it was good? So happy you had a good ultrasound!
grape / 77 posts
@marionberry: She didn't tell me BPM - just that it looked good. When I asked her if she could tell me BPM, she said, "I could count it right now but it looks to be in the 160-170 range." I trust she's done this enough times to confirm that's right? That's my wishful thinking at least.

@jetsa: Thanks! Good luck tomorrow! This is your six week appt, right? Are you getting an U/S?

Does anyone else get sharp, almost like pulling a muscle pains when you turn too quickly? I get them for a few seconds, usually in the middle of the night when I roll over too quick. A friend who is pregnant said she got them a little off and on, but I was curious if any of you did. Sometimes they freak me out lol.

@NBLChicago: Thank you. I'll be 6w3d and they told me I have to come to the main office so I can get one! I'm so excited! I have an interview for a new job in the morning and the baby appt at 1 so it'll be an interesting day
grape / 77 posts
@jetsa: Aww - good luck on both fronts! I hope the interview and U/S go well for you!

I'm so confused. I had a sheet from the the u/s tech that has notes regarding the u/s and it says measurement was 9mm for gest. sac, but the Dr was concerned bc I was 6mm instead of 9mm. Why is the number on the u/s tech different, and better? Blah.

@NBLChicago: Yay! Congrats on a great appointment and getting to see your healthy little bean!
@runnerd: I'm sorry you are having to worry about this! The fact that there is growth seems promising. I will absolutely be praying for you and baby, for both emotional and physical health.

Ladies I'm so jealous of all of your ultrasounds, I'm 6w2d which means I still have 6 weeks until mine! I just think 3 months with no real information is crazy!
