@mamamagpie: I haven't done much yet either...just an occasional pic on my iphone to see if anything has grown at all. And on there it's even hard to tell. I need to start being better at my weekly bump pics but my week occurs on a Wednesday, so I always forget.

@MamaMagpie: I also haven't done anything! No pictures, no book/ journal/ or memories jotted down, I keep telling myself after I have an ultrasound, but I might just be a slacker the whole time, who knows.

@mamamagpie - I haven't taken any pics yet either...I feel so huge but I know I need to get over it since I will regret not having at least a few shots.
I think I might start a journal tonight - nothing fancy, but just a few thoughts about hearing the heartbeat etc.

We had our first appt last night and it was great! Had a sono and the baby is measuring perfect at 8w5d so my due date is still 9/23. My husband was relieved it is only one baby (I'm a Fraternal twin)....my mom still says the other one is just hiding....lol
I will tell all my cousins today as my sister and I are having our 30th birthday party at a beer garden.....no drinks for me
Next appt is for an NT scan on March 12

Oh by the way I am team green (to the disappointment of all my friends)! but everyone already seems to think it is a girl.

@MrsClownfish: yay for a good appointment! Happy birthday and yay for another team green!

@MrsClownfish: I'm so happy you had a great appointment. I am SO SO anxious for mine on Wednesday. IDK if you did, but I'm always worried that I will have a missed mc or something and not see my baby on the us screen. It's always great reassurance.
@char54: I thought about the journal thing too. At least write down the things I'm thinking and I can put it in some better format later.

40% off maternity at Old Navy ends 2/20!!!
I lent ALL of my maternity clothes to a "friend" at work who stopped talking to me, quit her job, and moved house! I have tried to get them back but no luck.... so I have some shopping to do!
This time around, I am going with long tanks/tunics, leggings, and jersey knit skirts. I'll get one pair of mat. jeans for those days that I can't bring myself to shave my legs hahaha

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hasn't started taking pics and journaling! I think I will start writing things down here and there and then try to make something out of it a little later, too
Congrats @mraclownfish on a great appointment and have fun telling your friends and family! What a fun time to do it, too!
@mrsmoreau: that's crazy, how could someone do that?! So rude. I'm with you on the leggings and tunics plan We live in northern California and while it doesn't get as scorching hot as where we used to live (NYC) I'm kind of dreading being super pregnant during the hot summer months! I'm also thinking maxi dresses will be my friends Anyone else thought about being about 8 months pregnant in August?!

I was pregnant with my daughter through the summer (her birthday is actually the same as my due date). I lived in skirts and dresses and I really loved those fold over knit skirts I bought non maternity skirts at Old Navy and Target in a size up from my regular size. They were great.
The good part about being pregnant on summer is that you don't have to wear a lot of clothes like you do in winter towards the end when you feel like the Goodyear blimp its nice to throw on a cute Maxi dress and some cute accessories and feel at least sort of put together.
Oh and be prepared for big not so cute swollen feet. By the end I had one ugly pair of flip flops that fit. I'll be getting a cuter pair this time.

I'm a little fearful of summer 8 months pregnant. While it's not as hot in OR as other areas of the country, it can still hit 100 degrees. I feel confident that for weekends I could easily wear something cute (most often shorts and tanks I'd guess) but I'm more worried about work wear. I have to find enough things I could wear that still look professional 5 days out of 7! Oh and thinking about all this makes me really wish I'd lost about 10lbs before my BFP.
Also, my 10w ultrasound is wednesday and I'm starting to get nervous. We haven't seen our baby since 6w4d and I've been worrying about the possibility of a missed mc in between. Did/does anyone have these same crazy anxieties, waiting for proof of a healthy baby?

I try NOT to think about being that pregnant in the summer. July and August are brutal in Tennessee - humidity anyone? And we usually keep a lot of days in the 90s still well into September
grape / 98 posts
@Marionberry I think that's a really normal feeling. I felt that way all the time with my first it was such a relief when I started feeling baby move.
I still haven't been to the Dr and I keep thinking what if we get there and I'm not PG the. I remind myself that I haven't had a period and I am constantly nauseous so....
I am almost 10 weeks and swear I can feel baby moving any other 2nd timers feel like they might be feeling some baby squirming? I know it's early but I swear it's baby moving not gas.

I'm totally dreading the summer months being 8 and 9 months pregnant...though living in Canada it won't be as bad as some places! I think it will be a lot of beach days and indoor AC afternoons.
@marionberry: I totally worry about this too. Everything looked great last apt - we heard the heartbeat with the doppler, cervix is nice and closed - but I still worry. Our pregnancy pretty much went viral last week and now I'm so stressed that something will happen and at our 12 weeks appointment we'll get bad news. I have to just keep thinking positive!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: @joanlindsay: Thank you! This makes me feel like I'm not being crazy. I totally agree that once I can feel the baby move I won't worry anymore. Plus it will be pretty unlikely to lose the baby after this ultrasound. DH keeps begging me to enjoy this pregnancy. I am, but I will much more once we get a little farther into it.
Funny story, DH is so annoyed at me. I have been deathly constipated lately (I mean one night so bad I was in extreme pain) and the past few days I've been much more regular. So in the back of my head I start going, well am I regular because I'm not pregnant now? It drives him nuts! Yesterday I was saying to him, I think my boobs shrunk, and he pretty much turned over and went to bed. He can't stand my worrying.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: LOL your DH sounds so much like mine. After it leaked onto FB and I started freaking that the entire world knew we were pregnant, I was so upset: "I haven't been nauseous all week...and I still haven't thrown up this pregnancy...what if I'm not really pregnant??!!!" We had JUST heard the heartbeat 2 days before and I still was worrying.
I think like you, it will all seem more real once I start showing (beyond just ice-cream baby belly) and feel a kick or two.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@marionberry: my DH is the same way about all my worrying!!! I just hit 8w today and still no morning sickness so that's my newest obsession for worry
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: I don't have any ms either, so don't worry! My mom said she didn't either through any of her pregnancies, so it can't be a big deal.
@char54: I have ice cream belly right now too. I can't wait until it looks like a baby belly.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@runnerd: No morning sickness here either! My mom said she didn't have it with any of her 4 babies. She said with me, at the prenatal classes, the instructor asked each mom to tell their pregnancy ailments. The best she could come up with was "my hair is a bit frizzy now". She got death glares from the other women
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@char54: @marionberry: no m/s here either. We went and saw friend's 3 week old yesterday and told them and she said she never had any either so I think it varies from person to person.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@marionberry: @char54: @jetsa: and it makes me feel worse cause every time I see my doctor she is disappointed that I don't have m/s yet since "it's a positive sign" grrrr maybe just tell me not everyone gets it instead of making me worry more!

BTW we went to ikea this weekend, and I was pretty disappointed with all of the cribs there - i had high hopes based on other bees opinions, oh well. So that decision has been made that I'm gonna be shelling out $200-300 for a crib instead of a sweet deal. We did score a great white and gray pendant shade for the ceiling and white shelves though.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@runnerd: Ohhh that's gorgeous!!! I'm not very impressed by the ikea cribs either, but I don't want to spend over $500 (which seems to be our only other options here in middle of nowhere Canada). I think the white gulliver could grow on me.
So DH and I just DTD. Again, I had a tiny tiny (1 pin drop) amount of red blood. Is this something to be concerned about? Should I call my ob tomorrow?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: No I'm sure everything is fine. If you keep bleeding that would be another story. Also, I've seen a number of deals on babyletto cribs lately that have been pretty cheap, on sites like gilt.com and zulily.com. You might keep your eye out for something you like.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: thank you...that makes me feel better! DH said the same thing. I just love this baby so much already!
Thanks for the sites...unfortunately US sites usually won't ship to Canada and we have crazy safety standards (can't get my beloved Jenny Lind thanks to the new regulations :-()

@runnerd: It has woman/maternity, baby/kids and home. I have bought a number of things from there.

I started packing for our Mexico trip (is 12 weeks too early to call it a baby moon??) next week. ALL my summer clothes are tight. I think I will be sticking to maxi dresses and tankinis (definitely no bikinis this year!!). I feel like I'm in the awkward belly stage right now.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@char54: I think baby moon early is the way to go anyways so def call it that! I feel kinda sad to switch to tankinis this year since I've never worn one, but honestly am excited not to have to be self conscious at the pool this year! Yay for belly coverage
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@runnerd: I would totally rock a pregnant bikini belly if I could but this year I am waaay more flab than firm baby belly, lol. All the cute bikinins I bought last year when we went to Costa Rica are safely tucked away...hopefully they will see the light of day again post baby!!

@char54: Have fun in Mexico! Where there are you going? We honeymooned in Cancun and it was amazing. We want to go back. Oh and I wouldn't want to wear a bikini right now at all either.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: we are heading to cancun also!My first time. I've been gawking at pictures and counting down the days, especially on days like today when it's a full out blizzard out.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: We stayed north of the strip, but I would've liked to stay down there so that you could be in the heart of everything. You'll have a lot of fun! Definitely take one of the excursions (we went on one to Chichen Itza) and visit Isla Mujeres. It's a great time.
