hi ladies! I haven't been on here in forever, but it is great to see that everyone seems to be doing well! I LOVE seeing the ultrasound pics! I was out in CA for a little over a week with my mom - my sister just had her first baby! YAY! It made me even more excited for our LO - and to (finally) be able to tell everyone!
We are out of the first trimester on Sunday and we have our NT scan (only way I could get an u/s before 20 weeks, so we took it!) and our regular appointment on Monday - I can't wait, but like most of you, I am nervous too!
Seeing that chart of rates was really calming especially since we heard a strong heartbeat right before 10 weeks.
We are starting to tell extended family and close friends and have plans with others next weekend to be able to tell them - then we will finally go 100% public - I can't wait!
I hope that everyone is feeling great and that you have a fun weekend!

@duckduckkristen: It makes sense that your pregnancy goes by so fast with another one to take care of. I'm jealous! Mine seems to be taking forever. And lucky baby, McDonalds and cupcakes!

@MissKabers: how fun that your sister's LO will be so close to yours in age! My siblings kids are 23, 19, 14, and 7! Lol
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: It will be similar to that for my brothers. They're only 9. My kids will be MUCH older than their kids.

@evenstar982: remembered you said you were also going for woods/forest theme... I am dying over cuteness of this tree - there's a door with a blue bird! (not so much the price tag!) she had some cute stuffed animals too!

So I always pee a lot, and hadn't had much change, but I think frequent urination has arrived for real! The past two days I am running to bathroom every 20-30min, even when I haven't been drinking much of anything! Yay, pregnancy symptoms make me feel less freaked out!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: HAHA I pee literally all the time. I feel like I should live there.
Had a small rash on my forearms yesterday which had me worried, but it seems better today so I'm going to wait and see if it's still around tomorrow. If it is, I figure I should call the doctor about it. What do you think?
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@marionberry: hmm I have no idea, I do remember reading that rashes can be pregnancy related.

So I just had a pretty big reveal, my husband and I are running an 80 mile relay in about 8 weeks and I'm team captain so I decided I'm taking the easiest leg. Well our team hasn't picked legs yet so I outed myself. This feels like a huge deal because these are all friends and one of my husbands coworkers who don't know and probably wouldn't know for another 2 weeks or so if it wasn't for this! Now I'm like, OMG what if I m/c?
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@jetsa: I was a nervous wreck after we told a few more people last week! But I'm sure we will all be good and into the 2nd tri soon!
And wooo fun on the relay! I am so jealous of your running. I plan to start back Fri after 3 weeks off. I'm afraid I've lost most of my running stamina and won't be able to regain it as I get more pregnant. But I can't wait to be running!! What relay are u doing? I did the Ragnar NWP as ultra last year - it was only one ive done and it is def an experience!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@runnerd: I haven't ran since my half, oops. We are doing the river to river relay, its local to us. It's 24 legs, 8 runners, 80 miles, and a ton of hills. We did it for the first time last year and I'm excited to do it again.
I'm super nervous about this too, "I'm afraid I've lost most of my running stamina and won't be able to regain it as I get more pregnant". I have the shortest leg, 8.8 miles total over 3 different routes so it shouldn't be too bad.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: Good news. The rash disappeared. It must've been some allergic reaction.
I was also thinking about announcing any day now (since my FB annoucements are ready) but decided I'll at least wait until my first OB appointment on Thursday if not until I'm officially at 12 weeks. I'm so worried that we'll say something and then mc. It happened once to a friend of mine from college. Announced one week and then two weeks later miscarried...although I think she may have done it a little early.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@marionberry: we are going Facebook live after my appt Thurs - we can encourage each other to stay brave!! My thought at this point is that if something happens, I'll be nearly 10 weeks and that's far enough along that I would be sad to think no one knew about our LO and it was like they never existed... A secret I had to keep.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@marionberry: I saw someone announce last week who isn't due until 10/7 - I was so jealous that they are due a week after me, and everyone already got to know two weeks early than we are telling, lol.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: Oh that's cool! We could both go live at the same time! I agree that at this point I just want people to know about our baby, no matter what happens going forward. A friend posted her announcement Sunday saying she was due mid-September, so she's ahead of me in announcing early.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: @runnerd: We are going FB live next thursday after our appointment. We figure 2nd listen to the hb and go, lol. At this point though we are telling everyone we are just waiting to announce on FB.
cherry / 199 posts
@marionberry: @runnerd @jetsa I think we are going to wait until after our next scan on March 12 to say anything on facebook. My husband is the one that is really holding it back. We are 10 weeks and I have been telling everyone in real life
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@MrsClownfish: haha! I'm the prob for us... DH wanted to put microscopic ultrasound up at work at 6 weeks! It's been killing him to wait!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: My DH is the same way! He has wanted to announce since day 1. I figure so long as a strong hb at our first OB appointment (I'm guessing they'll just do doppler) we'll tell on FB. We're turning down the NT so I have no idea when we'll get another ultrasound.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
We told everyone at 9 weeks after we heard the heartbeat. I was still a bit nervous but DH is a numbers guy and kept reminding me that we had a 0.5% chance of m/c so we were likely good. Now I'm almost 11 and not worrying much. I'm actually relieved everyone knows so I don't have to keep track during a conversation if they already know or not, lol.
Good news! We got the house! Our offer was approved today and we move in August (long story, but a later closing date helped us get it cheaper). So ill be 9 mos pregnant and moving...crazy??!! Ill probably become the moving supervisor and tell people where things go since I won't be able to move heavy things I'm just so relieved it all worked out!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: You shouldn't be moving anything at all at that point, but that's so great!! Congrats! We've told most people now if we've seen them, but we have a lot of friends on FB that we don't see often.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@char54: yay!!!!! but oh my gosh I'd go crazy waiting to move in! we moved in a month after offer, and that felt like forever!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
Ordered this book the other day, had great reviews.. Anyone else heard of it?
grape / 98 posts
@char54 Congrats on your house! So exciting and it will make the last weeks when you are OVER being pregnant pass quickly!
I have my Dr. Appt tomorrow with ultrasound. Feeling really nervous for the 1st time in this pregnancy. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll have seen a healthy baby and will be feeling relaxed again. Hope all of you are doing well this evening.
Question for the group...how's the name game going for everyone? We are making no progress especially on girl names.
persimmon / 1436 posts
Congrats @char54!!! Very exciting And I agree with @joanlindsay that it will probably help the end of your pregnancy go quicker! Just hope it's not too stressful, but I'm sure the excitement and anticipation will outweigh any of that
We are going to tell our friends (a select few already know, along with family) on 3/6 which is exactly 12 weeks, but our 12 week appointment isn't until 3/11 so we won't announce to FB until then...just to be safe. But I'm still throwing up every day, so my silver lining every time I'm worshiping at the porcelain altar is that it's a good sign everything is ok in there!
And @joanlindsay: the name game has been put on hold until we know the sex! DH and I just cannot get anywhere with boy names, but have almost decided on a girl name, so we are going to just table it for now because there's no sense in getting all worked up until we know for sure!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Joanlindsay: We are getting nowhere on names. We have a few guidelines we've set for ourselves and we can't seem to find anything we like. We've got a couple girls names but no boys. We are team green we'd like to have both.
@char54: Congrats on the house!!

Hi! I've been lurking here since we started TTC at the end of last year. I feel like I know a lot about you guys already, so I thought I'd better sign up and introduce myself!
Due Date: 26th Sept based on LMP, though my 8wk US moved it up to 23rd Sept.
Months It Took to Conceive: 2
DPO You Found Out You Were Preggo On: Maybe around 12?
Symptoms That Made You Think You Were Pregnant: Sore boobs, gas, probably others that I have forgotten about now!
Child Number: First!
Where You Live: UK
What You're Most Excited For: DH and I becoming parents! Also to tell my family we are expecting, which we are waiting to do when we see them in person next month.
What You're Most Scared About: Being a parent! Sometimes I don't feel mature enough to take care of myself let alone a little one!
clementine / 818 posts
@char54: Woohoo Congrats on the house! So exciting! That is a long time to wait to move though..... at least you have a lot to look forward too!
@runnerd: Wow that book looks great, I will have to look into it, let me know what you think.
@Joanlindsay: We have barely even talked about names, I am totally behind the curve on all things baby I feel like, we have just been so busy! Also its near impossible to get my husband to talk about things under pressure he just never "has a chance to think about it", so I think I will probably just have to give him a list of names I like and then he will agree or veto. I should start thinking more about that...
@illumina: Welcome and congratulations!
Our plan is to slowly start telling friends/ work/ extended family next Tuesday after our ultrasound. I will be 11 weeks + 4 days. I don't know that we will do a facebook announcement for a while, I want to make sure everyone important hears it from us first. I'm also not really sure how to make that work for me (my friends have big mouths ) do we just slowly start telling people we see, do we call people, do we send out a mass text??? How did you guys do it?
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@Joanlindsay: we have 3 girl name combos set and ready to go before I was even pregnant. boy names is a totally different story. We have a few that we don't hate, but nothing we are in love with!
@illumina: welcome! glad you decided to join in!
@MrsStormy: we told local people in person, other close family over the phone, and faraway friends with pictures/gchat/text (i despise talking on the phone and my friends know that haha)
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@MrsStormy: We slowly started telling people as we saw them. First immediate family, then the rest of the families and then slowly but surely our closest friends. At this point we are telling everyone we see and everyone else will find out on FB.
@illumina: Welcome!
pomelo / 5469 posts
@Joanlindsay: Even before we were married and way before thinking about TTC we had a boy and girl name picked out. DH is still keen on the boy name, but I'm not so much now that I think I've gotten too used to it. So we've got a new top choice boy name which we are both in love with and will most likely have DH's name as his middle name. Girl's names are not looking too good right now, the original one we had in mind doesn't sound great with our surname and I'm worried may be too trendy. I think we both want classic names for our kids but also not so popular that there will be more than one kid in the class at school with that name. At the moment we have a short list of five girl names which I am only ok about, not thrilled about and haven't even thought about middle names!
We're kind of hoping/thinking this one is a boy anyway, so hopefully won't be a problem!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Joanlindsay: Our girl name is pretty much set in stone. While I'm not 100% about it, DH is and he'd probably kill me if I didn't use the name he liked. Our boy name however, well we know the middle name but have about 6 options for the first name. I think we're going to table much more of a discussion until we know the sex.
@illumina: Welcome to the group! We're a chatty bunch, as I'm sure you've seen already. I'm probably the worst, lol.
So what's the update on belly pooches? Mine still just looks like I ate too many sandwiches. I'm really aching for when it looks apparent I'm pregnant.

Hi Ladies! I haven't been here in quite some time. Work has been busy and we were in Playa del Carmen all of last week (thankfully all of my symptoms - namely fatigue and MS - randomly disappeared right before vacation!). I hope you all are doing and feeling great!!
I had my 12 week appointment and first trimester screen this morning. Our baby was somersaulting, harlem shaking and moving around so much that the tech was having a hard time getting all the images and measurements! It was really funny... she started with the normal US and then had to switch to transvaginal because the baby wouldn't flip over. By the time she switched, baby had flipped over again. It was priceless. Heart rate was ~160 bpm and everything looked normal in terms of anatomy, nasal bone and thickness behind the neck.
Oh and I totally emailed the Baby Psychic, and the level of detail she sent us was very entertaining. She predicts I'll deliver a BOY during the day who has light brown hair and hazel eyes, is very determined/focused, focused on finances, will get married at 26, have two sons, and will be a lawyer! My DH officially thinks I'm crazy.

@marionberry: I hear you on the too many sandwiches, though I wish I was that healthy! Since m/s finally disappeared last week I have been stuffing my face with chocolates, pizza, fish & chips etc. basically everything I wasn't able to even look at for the previous 3 weeks! Having said that, I still think I look the same as pre-pregnancy, I haven't actually put on any weight yet, with barely being able to keep anything down for weeks Can't wait until I get an actual bump though!
@NBLChicago Congrats on a great appt! My 12wk scan is in 2 weeks time and it cannot come quick enough!

We have a definite boys' name. Since we are jewish it is a little easier as we are continuing the tradition of naming after family members that have passed.
For a girl, we have some family names already but I am also going to ask my grandma the names of my grandfather's sisters (I believe there are more than 7) that did not make it through the war.
grape / 98 posts
Welcome @illumina! Glad your m/s has passed.
Had my appt today everything looked good. Baby was busy moving and shaking its arms at us. It was so cute.
I'm still not showing I have a little tummy left from my last pregnancy but, all my clothes are still fitting even my non stretchy jeans.
I resisted maternity clothes til 20+ weeks last time and will try to do the same again.
clementine / 959 posts
@Joanlindsay: last time I started wearing maternity jeans at 11 weeks and this time I made it to 12 weeks! Lol.
My belly def sticks out more, but I I just look chubby. Haven't gained any weight yet though.
I have a girl name picked that DH goes back and forth about whether he likes, but we have no clue for a boy. I think we'll wait until we know what we are having before we get too into name picking.
@MrsStormy: we just tell people as we see them. This pregnancy we haven't seen too many people yet, so they may not find out til this baby is born. Lol. Last time we didn't announce on fb until maybe 16 weeks?
pomelo / 5041 posts
Has anyone bought maternity clothes yet (who's on their first pregnancy)? I've been slowly ordering a few things from zulily and hoping they might fit when I need them. I'm mainly worried about work clothes during the summer, as I have to dress at least business casual. So far (knock on wood) I can fit in my normal clothes though.
clementine / 818 posts
I definitely have a tummy and have for a few weeks, its more obvious in the afternoon, you probably wouldn't think anything of it if you didn't know me and see me regularly. It is worse in the afternoons/ evenings for some reason.... It's a little depressing, I'm not going to lie, but I'm just saying its because I'm short and short bodied.
@marionberry: I got some maternity pants and a few tops a few weeks ago at a local thrift shop, they were all brand new and it looked like some stores (motherhood and target) just donated discontinued items since they had a ton with tags on. I have been wearing them a bit and they are super comfortable, but I don't totally need them yet, I can still wear most of my normal jeans but I have a very unattractive bulge happening in most (some are still totally fine though) and it just makes it more obvious I'm pregnant and since we aren't telling people yet we are avoiding that.
