@MrsStormy: that's how mine go anymore, wait on the dr, talk & listen to the heartbeat for less than 5 mins, leave, but YAY for a good appt!
@marionberry: I took the belly button ring out, it was poking through my shirts it's so weird!

@jetsa: I still haven't taken mine out but I'm sure I will within the next week or so. My belly button is getting so much shallower quick!

@jetsa: @mrsstormy: yay for good appointments!!!
Ok...I have a question and I'm only asking you guys because I think it's probably kind of lame. I still look about as pregnant as I did 4 weeks ago, which was probably only visible to me or any loved one who I eagerly said "see?! can't you see my bump?!" and they humored me. Now I'm 16+2 and I'm worried the baby isn't big enough or something! Last week when we had our gender scan, we knew the tech would literally only be looking for the sex and not talking about anything else, so I can't find comfort in that.
Everyone keeps saying I don't look pregnant at all, and then when they see that I'm not taking it as a compliment say "but I'm sure you'll pop soon!". I'm being ridiculous, right?

Just checking in Hows everyone doing? Yay for great appointments this week @jetsa: @mrsstormy.
@MamaMagpie: I'm sure there's nothing to worry about - I don't think my bump changed much between 13 and 16 weeks but now at 17+2 it seems to be here to stay!
It's DH's birthday today and he's just 'outed' us on Facebook, so I guess we're well and truly public now! We're off to a wedding this afternoon so I've got to find a dress I can still squeeze myself into since I didn't manage to buy anything new. Le Sigh.
Anyone else up to anything fun this weekend?

@MamaMagpie: It's funny you write this, because it my was worry this very morning. I still haven't gained much weight. Only about 3.5-4lbs since I got pregnant and in the mornings my belly doesn't look any different than it has for the past few weeks. However I am noticing it feeling a bit harder and rounding so I think maybe baby's just eating all that left over fat I had? By the end of the day my belly looks so much bigger but I think that's due to food I'm eating. I'm hoping baby's ok too. We have a gender scan next Thursday and I'm hoping maybe they'll say baby looks great or baby's behind, etc.

@MamaMagpie: @marionberry: I would try not to worry... I think it depends on your body shape and abdominal muscles as to when you'll begin to "pop". I hadn't put on any weight nor was I showing any sign of a bump until about a week ago when all of a sudden I put on about 4lbs and now my bump is looking much more prominent, harder and rounded. I'd say if you previously had strong muscles, it will take longer for your belly to start pushing outwards. I have quite a petite frame and don't think I'm particularly toned, so I guess that's why I'm now starting to grow outwards. Though I realised today if I have a jumper and jacket on, you can't tell I'm pregnant at all.
We listened to the heartbeat on the doppler last night (first time in a couple of weeks) and we found it straight away, much louder and higher up than before.
@evenstar982: Not much going on this weekend. DH has to work (well not *has* to, but he feels he needs to get work done) but we are still trying to get out a little each day and make the most of this lovely weather. Today we took a picnic to a local country park and sat in the sun for a while Hope you have fun at the wedding!

@marionberry: Last week at my appt I had gained 4 lbs and my dr said that was perfect.

@jetsa: thanks. didn't mean to be such a downer, i sat down to write a different post and that is what came out - it is all i can think about. it was sudden, and we only had him for a month - it's just so unfair!
In happier news, we are heading in for our anatomy scan tomorrow morning, so I am looking forward to that.

@mrsmoreau: I'm so sorry about your dog! At least seeing your baby tomorrow should brighten your spirits. Can't wait to hear if it's a boy or girl!

@mrsmoreau: I understand, we lost one of our dogs last year and it was horrible. Good luck at your anatomy scan tomorrow!

@mrsmoreau: oh my gosh, I am so sorry about your dog. I have two and I would be devastated to lose them. I hope seeing your LO helps to ease the sadness

@evenstar982: @marionberry: @illumina: you ladies have made me feel better! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had this worry! I have my 16 week appointment today and I'm betting that will make me feel better.

So I think I may be feeling the baby???
I've read all of the posts about flutters and popcorn and bubbles. For me, it feels like as other posters on HB have said "a goldfish swimming around in there" or like that weird gurgliness your stomach makes when you're hungry except it's not in my stomach. I get them often in the very early morning but just found myself getting them at work about an hour ago. For those who've had kids already, is this kind of what it felt like for you? Or am I just feeling something different?
apricot / 251 posts
@marionberry: that's baby movement for sure. congrats on this awesome milestone!!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mrsmoreau: Thank you so much for confirming! I've had the feelings for about a week or two on occasion but now that they're a bit stronger and more often I figured they might be something real. How awesome!!
@illumina: I'm sure you'll be right behind me. Our doctor and RE have always said this baby is quite active, so I'm sure that helps me feel it too. I'd been questioning it for awhile, so maybe some of the pains you're feeling now you may decide they're actually baby in a bit.
pomelo / 5469 posts
@marionberry: I hope so The only things I've felt are equivalent to if say something was scratching me from the inside. I just assumed it was gas as what people describe as movement sounds different.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@illumina: I've heard comments that scratching from the inside or a feeling of "gas" can be baby too! If they continue or get stronger, it's likely baby I'd think.
apricot / 284 posts
@mrsmoreau: *hugs* I'm so sorry to hear about your dog!
@MamaMagpie: how'd your 16wk appt go?
@marionberry: woohoo! I THINK I've been feeling movement too, especially last night when I swear I felt a little limb give me two good pokes! But otherwise, like you say its more like a goldfish sloshing about in there, hehe. So fun.
For me (now 17+4) 'movement' is more noticeable if I sit quietly just after I've eaten, or as I'm laying down just about to go to sleep - I figure as I relax, the baby 'wakes up'?
We did some baby-shopping at the weekend, or at least tried - we test-drove a car (a Ford C-Max, I don't know if they're only available in Europe but its an MPV) and also went and tried out a few pushchairs in BRU... I swear; choosing a new car is easy in comparison to the minefield which is strollers/prams/pushchairs! Anyone else struggling?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: Yay! Thats so exciting.
@marionberry: @illumina: I've had some pressure, I'd guess you'd say, if one of my dogs lays on my stomach that I think must be the baby. It only happens when there is something on my stomach and it doesn't really feel like anything else I've ever felt. I can kind of picture the baby in there saying 'hey get off of me!' lol. @mrsmoreau: what do you think, is that early movement? I'm only 16+1 but my dr and the nurse both asked last week if I'd felt anything yet.
apricot / 251 posts
@evenstar982: thanks. and I agree, choosing a stroller is mind-boggling and super stressful haha.

@mrsmoreau: I am SO sorry about your dog :(:( That would devastate me too...especially so young!!! I hope your gender scan tomorrow brings you some happiness
I can't wait to hear what you are having!!!
@marionberry: I think I'm feeling something too! It's not all the time, but a few times a day I'll feel some weird gurgles or some stretching. I don't know if that's the baby, but it doesn't feel like anything else I've felt before so I'm thinking that it might be. How fun!!!
@evenstar982: OMG choosing gear is so stressful! We decided on the uppababy vista and are hoping to get the mesa car seat but I don't know if it will be out in Canada by then. Trying to research a backup plan now.
Our fabric came in today! My MIL is going to sew the curtains, crib skirt, basket liners, etc. I'll try and post a picture. I hope it's gender neutral enough!
Does anyone have instagram? It might be a fun way to share pictures of our LOs once they are here. I'm starting to post some pictures of the nursery progress, things I've bought, etc. I'm a total newbie though so just learning how instagram really works!

@char54: cute fabric! I have instagram, don't post a whole lot on there but I use it a little. Whats your username?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: I love your fabric! I LOVE chevron! That will be perfectly gender neutral. I use instagram, but only really occasionally. We could do a September 2013 mamas gold board to share pictures but Idk if everyone who'd be interested is gold.

@evenstar982: just got back from our appointment and all went well! I have now gained 4 pounds and the doctor put my fears about my bump to rest Just a doppler today but heartbeat was "perfect"!
@marionberyy: SO EXCITING!!!
@char54: that fabric is so amazing! I love chevron and those colors are perfect for a gender neutral nursery!

@mrsmoreau: sorry about your dog. Our anatomy scan is tomorrow morning too!
@marionberry: sounds like baby movement! With my first I always felt it more first thing in the morning or when I was sitting with my knees up. This time I don't notice it as much because im busier, but I did just start feeling actual kicks a few days ago at 18 weeks.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@duckduckkristen: That's so cool. I can't wait to feel things as strong as that!
@mamamagpie: What great news! I've only gained 4 lbs too, so I'm glad your doctor says that's ok. And yay for a "perfect" heartbeat.

Has anyone on Team Green had any dreams about the sex of the baby? So far I have had two dreams and in both of them the baby was a girl...

I have not had any flutters yet
As far as weight gain, I have a doctor's appt on Friday so we'll see.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@MrsClownfish: I'm not on team green but I've had dreams the baby was a girl and one other where the baby was a boy. If that's a predictor I must be having twins lol. It has to be hard waiting to know! My friend was team green and swore she was having a boy until a baby with a vagina popped out.
@mrsmoreau: can't wait for your update today! When is your appt?

Scan this morning went well, although the radiologist had me worried because she had to do a transvaginal probe in addition to the abdominal because my cervix was measuring "short" and she couldn't get a good reading on it. but all is well, baby measuring perfectly, although there is now some confusion as to my due date - whether it's the 9th or 10th... I am sticking with the 9th.
AND..... It's a GIRL!!!!!!
pomelo / 5469 posts
@mrsmoreau: Hello little miss Moreau! How exciting!! You guessed girl right?
apricot / 251 posts
@illumina: yep, I just had a feeling... when they first told us, both DH and I were just kinda like "Oh, OK" (we didn't really have a preference) haha but I am getting more and more excited as the day goes on and I get to tell everyone!
