Does anyone care if we clear out all of the gender predictions now and just write the sex when we find out? So "Boy, Girl or Team Green"? I think it'd be easier to read.

@mrsmoreau: congrats on your baby GIRL! So excited to hear others' announcements this week!

@marionberry: I don't mind! You've only got a couple of days to wait now... I've got until Sunday and I can't wish the time away as DH's birthday is Saturday and I haven't figured out what to get him yet!

Did you decide on a reveal idea?

  12. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

    @marionberry: sounds good to me

  13. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: Not totally. DH and I have been so busy I haven't gotten a chance to talk to him about what he'd like to do. And our friends and family have no idea we're finding out early so we do at least have some time to think up something great. BTW, happy birthday to your DH! Our anniversary is Sunday!

I'll wait a bit longer to make sure no one has a problem with it but then I'll clear them.

  14. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@marionberry: thanks! I'd pass it on if I thought the idea of me telling someone his birthday on a forum wouldn't freak him out, haha! My friends got married on 14/04/12 too Do you have any plans? Our first anniversary is May 12th... I have no idea what we're going to do yet.

  15. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: We are going out to dinner the night before to celebrate (didn't really want to do it on a Sunday) and I ordered a centerpiece arrangement from our wedding to have at our house over the weekend as a reminder, and then as a surprise to my hubby, I ordered a small replica cake for us to enjoy on our anniversary, since neither of us really got to eat much cake at our wedding. Nothing extraordinary since we're trying to save money, but just thoughtful I think.

@MrsClownfish: We are TG - I've had 2 dreams that it was a boy. Dh has also dreamed boy. The baby psychic cheri22 told me boy so I am definitely going with BOY!

It's a boy! So I will have two boys 16 months apart! I'm glad it's a boy because we want four kids, so hopefully the next two will be girls. I'm also excited because it means I don't need to buy anything. Yay!

The doctor did say the umbilical cord is entering the placenta a little off to the side instead of in the center. It could lead to low birth weight, but the baby is measuring fine now so I have to go back in 10 weeks for a growth scan.

@duckduckkristen: yay!! Congrats on your baby boy!!! I think there's something special about same sex siblings. I have 3 sisters and we are all so close !

I officially love my DH like crazy. I mentioned earlier i was craving a Mr Freeze...I fell asleep on the couch in pregnancy induced exhaustion (today was crazy at work). DH snuck out while I was sleeping to go pick up the mr freeze. Best thing to wake up to! Mmmmmm.....

@marionberry: Haha, I'm not that productive these days anyway! soo 2pm for you.... how many hours behind GMT are you?

  26. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: I think 1 hr behind you (I'm 3 hours behind ET). And ya, my productivity has been down the drain for quite awhile too. It's just worse now, if you can even imagine that haha.

  27. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@illumina: Yes me either. Pregnancy has killed my productivity.

  28. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@marionberry: 1hr behind me? From the UK? Tell me what time it is where you are now... I need to know what time to check for updates tomorrow!

  29. evenstar982

    apricot / 284 posts

@illumina: @marionberry: ET is GMT-5 hours (it's 5pm on the Eastern US coast now, and 10pm here in the UK) So we need to be checking back after 7pm UK time tomorrow for an update on the gender of baby marionberry!

Congrats on all the gender reveals, so exciting for everyone! I still have nearly 3 weeks before my next scan (so plenty of time to cave in from being Team Green) but I am trying to stick to my 'green' guns and not find out... hehe.

My productivity has gone to crap this week; I spent half the week researching strollers, most of today designing a leaflet for church and now have two days of the week left to actually try and achieve something for my day-job, whoops! Glad to know I'm not alone though!

  30. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@evenstar982: Thank you for helping me figure that out. I was thinking it was a version of our mountain time and totally forgot you were in the UK lol. Yes, it sounds like tomorrow night would be when you'd find out. Good for you for trying to hold out on the gender. There's no way I could do it. I'm assuming you'll just close your eyes when the technologist looks that way? My boss is out this week (not that he really cares normally) and it's made me spend even more time writing blog posts, reseaching gender reveal ideas and more. Totally unproductive!

Oh and I totally decided on my gender reveal! I'll share it when we're done, but it's a card with a handwritten cute poem on the front and the reveal on the inside.

  31. Charm54

    cantaloupe / 6885 posts

@marionberry: I can't wait to find out what you're having!! I will be refreshing this thread all day tomorrow, lol. I think you're 4 hours behind me.

As for productivity, I am struggling too! My mind is spinning with gear options, baby names, dreaming of the future...

It's also really hitting me that I only have 10 weeks of work left and then I'm off for 15 months. I'm not good at sitting still, though something tells me I'll be busier than I think.

I have to be honest too that I'm a bit nervous about a year mat leave. What if I go out of my mind? What if I can't handle it all by myself? What if I miss work too much? With my job I don't have the option of going back early (I already submitted my return date for Sept 2014) so I hope I can cope okay.

DH will be extremely busy at work next winter starting up a new site with his company and will be working long long hours. I'm hoping he can take a week or two when the baby comes, but once work gets busy for him I will have to rely a lot of my mom and sisters. Are your SO's planning on taking any time off?

  32. Charm54

    cantaloupe / 6885 posts

@runnerd: Hiya! How's the moving decision going? Any consensus yet?

  33. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@char54: I'm so jealous that you're off soon and that you get to be off for a year. I won't be off work until the baby comes and even then only get 2 months off fully paid. That's the one reason I'd love to live in Canada. If you start going stir crazy, try to set up times you can get out of the house to do something by yourself (without baby) - a hobby or something. My DH just took a new job so he'll likely only take off 2 weeks or so (if he even has that much leave accrued by then) to spend with me. It's gonna be rough doing it all alone. That stresses me out. I'm sure we'll all be just fine though.

  34. mlm2934

@MamaMagpie: @char54: we are 90% convinced moving is the right decision. it's been the weirdest revelation in our path ahha...

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@marionberry: oh my goodness I can't believe you find out tomorrow!!! How flippen exciting!!! I'll be stalking this thread!

I'm so behind at the moment, I've been suffering really bad headaches the last few days so have been out of it. Feeling much better today. DH treated me to getting my nails done so I'm feeling better...currently just hanging at the library to waste some time whilst my car is getting fixed - its a good chance to read some different baby books. I'm so excited everyone is starting to feel there bubs. I am totally feeling our little one now, just wish DH could feel it. The countdown is on! 2 weeks til we find out the sex!

  36. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Mrs squirreld: I can't wait for you to find out too! I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well, but good for you for getting your nails done. I am in dire need of a mani/pedi. I love reading new books! DH makes fun of me. Have you read any great ones lately? And what does it feel like when you feel your baby? It seems it's so different for everyone.

  37. Mrs squirreld

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@marionberry: I'm liking this one, it's different from all the clinical ones I've read which after a while all seem the same. It focuses on the good instead of pain and medication which is what most books talk about.
I would say it feels like a cross between someone drumming their fingers on your skin (but from the inside) and a muscle twitch. Weird sensation, although the other night I was in the bath and felt the biggest movement I've felt and it felt like bub did a somersault, freaked me out at bit at the time!! Lol

  38. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Mrs squirreld: I haven't started reading books about labor. I probably should though lol.

  39. Mrs squirreld

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@marionberry: I'm all about the labour! I keep thinking geez I should really read some books on what to do once the baby is actually here!!!

  40. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Mrs squirreld: HAHA I haven't done that either. All of my books so far have been about pregnancy. I actually bought one on breastfeeding and another on babies recently but haven't cracked either of them open yet.
