narrowing down the name list!!! this is our short list (for now)
Elayne Frederique
Penelope Jane
Felicity Rose
middle names are still iffy... but that's what we are working with as of right now. I welcome suggestions!!

@evenstar982: I'm so glad your appointment went well! I can't wait for mine on Thursday.
6lbs was where I was at last week but this week they seemed to have come on much faster. I'm gonna try to eat much healthier this week and see if I still keep gaining. Technically they say you should be around 10lbs gained at this point so I'm not worrying to much yet. Had you gone to Texas and eaten all of that amazing food, you probably wouldn't still be at 6lbs lol. Smart girl!
@mrsmoreau: Love your name ideas! A girl I grew up with just named her daughter Penelope.

@mrsmoreau: Felicity Rose is my favorite too!! I looovvee Felicity and tried to get DH on board but no go. It's such a pretty name!

I'm up about 8lbs I think, bahh so much more than the rest of you girls! I have also been feeling the baby a ton the past weekend, its very exciting, so far nothing can be felt on the outside, anyone know when that happens more regularly?
@mrsmoreau: Love your names! I'm not sure why either but Felicity Rose just really sticks out to me, its beautiful, but honestly they are all lovely

My appointment went well, my blood pressure was high again, I have to go in for a recheck next week. The baby looks great, up to 13 oz and 148 bpm. We are still team green!
I'll add pictures later, we got a long roll and a dvd.

@jetsa: So glad you had a great appointment and can't wait to see the photos!
@mrsstormy: Idk what's going on but I'm almost gaining .5 lbs a day right now. So I'm up to 7.5 (which is not far behind you at all). I'm telling myself that the baby is finally catching up but I hope it's not that I'm just overeating. They say to be at around 10lbs at 20 weeks I think.

@marionberry: @MrsStormy: Also I don't know what my starting weight was at the dr. office but I weighed 153 today which would put me up 10 lbs on my home scale, I'm thinking their initial reading must have been above mine or else I've gained 6lbs in 4 weeks! Everything I've read says we should be up 8-10 lbs at 20 weeks.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: Ya doctors office scales are always a bit heavy! They say I'm a few pounds heavier than I really am each time...at least according to my home scale. I weigh myself daily, so I've been very aware of the weight I've gained lol. McDonalds yesterday was probably a bad decision but it tasted so good!

@marionberry: i can't help myself. McDonald's Milkshakes will be my downfall.

Just realized that I didn't let you know that I'm team green!
My u/s is tomorrow. So excited! Can't wait to see our little baby and see how human like it looks.

@mrsmoreau: I love their hot fudge sundays but have tried to really limit how often I get them now.
@pmerr: I hope you have a great appointment tomorrow! I know I'm super excited/anxious for mine on Thursday. I'll update your team green status.

Here are some of my photos! We got a dvd and a roll of them so these are just screenshot off the dvd.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: Very cool one of the side of the face. Did you get the dvd and pictures from your OB or an elective place? I don't think our OB will do any 3D for us.
I just found out that a girl I grew up dancing with and actually coached high school dance team with is due with a boy named Jackson four days before me. So weird how small the world is.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@jetsa: HOW COOL!!!! That is so crazy that there is a little human inside us with eyes, nose, lips, etc. Sometimes I feel so normal that I forget all about it. I can't wait for our ultrasound next week. I am literally counting down the days!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: we got everything from our OB. The 4d is a "perk" for choosing them, I didn't realize we'd get some today, but it is soo cool. The 32 week one is all 4d.
@marionberry: @char54: right?!?!? How are we halfway there?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: That's so cool! I wish our OB did the 4d. That's why we pay for the elective stuff. And ya, can you guys believe the first half went by so fast? I think the second half may go slower. What do you guys think?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: I think it'll go by quicker if that's possible. Until week 12, mine dragged. Also summer always seems to go by super fast and we just have to get through it and it'll be baby time!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: The first 12 weeks went super slow for me too! But the rest just sped by. It just seems like 20 more weeks might start to slow down.
apricot / 284 posts
@mrsmoreau: I LOVE Penelope Jane - it's actually on my list (my mums middle name is Jane and I just love Penny)... but sadly chances are we won't use it as our Surname starts with a P, and Penny P just sounds a bit too comical (literally, like a comic book character, which DH and I kinda love, but it raises a few eyebrows if we suggest it!).
@marionberry: well in the two weeks DH is away I will probably put on more lbs from comfort eating than from baby-growth... the thought of cooking just for myself really isn't appealing. Ah well, at least so far I'm on track so hopefully a couple of extra lbs now won't hurt, right?
@jetsa: love the 3D images, so clear!
ladies can I run a couple of names past you guys... what do you think of:
Constance (for DD) and Franklin (for DS)?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@evenstar982: I also think Penny P is pretty awesome, if you like it use it! I really like Franklin for a boy! Its just so classic and not too common. I know there's an actual child in there! Last time we saw it was 6 weeks and it was teensy!
apricot / 251 posts
@evenstar982: Well, now DH has told me that he does not like "Felicity" - but that i should "name her whatever I want" - UGH!!!! i guess it is only fair though, he named the other 4!
I like "Penny P" too haha. We actually are considering Aurora since our last name is Moreau - the X-men character Storm's real name is "Aurora Monroe" - so we would nickname her Stormy LOL. so maybe i am not the best person to take advice from regarding comic book names....
LOVE the name Constance. Franklin is not my style, but depends on middle name... I could come around to it!
apricot / 284 posts
@jetsa: Franklin comes from DH's recent obsession with Frankie Valli... I'm not totally on board myself yet, but coming round to it.
I guess Penny P stays on the shortlist then, and is now joined by Constance.
20 week scan is so much more detailed than the early ones so much more 'real' now. Like @char54 said, you get to see lips and nose etc, so cool!
@mrsmoreau: love Aurora Moreau, I think it sounds awesome! If you like comic book (and especially X-men...) names you'll love our other boy name... Logan - and yes, I'd probably call him my little wolverine
PS if your DH is giving you the power, but vetoing Felicity... I say we start a club for Penelope mamas... course I may have to defect if we have a boy!
clementine / 818 posts
@char54: I am totally counting down the days until my next US too!
I agree I can not believe we are half way there, from 12 weeks on totally flew by! I think the next 20 weeks will fly, since summer does seem to go fast, and there is still so much to do!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@mrsmoreau: My husband did that with Claudia, but we decided I get to pick the girl name but he gets to pick the boy name. He had 1 Claudia that he didn't like at one point in 32 years, I don't think thats a reason to not use it!
@mrsmoreau: @evenstar982: I'm loving the comic book references! I'm surprised my husband didn't push for one....then again he hasn't picked a middle name yet.
Has anyone started researching daycares? I don't even know where to start. Its looking like we'll only need 2 days/week which is going to be difficult to find I think. I called one center and I either had to pay for the full week (uh no) or find someone to go the 3 days (how?).
apricot / 251 posts
@jetsa: keep looking for a daycare that offers a "part-time" schedule option. DS goes to a daycare that offers however many days per week you need - even half days! they charge a different amount though (for instance, 4-5 days per week = $38/day, 1-3 days per week = $44/day, half days = $31/day.)
oftentimes you can go through your city/county website to find daycares that are recommended and have passed all of the inspections, etc.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@mrsmoreau: Ok will do, thank you for the info. I just talked to a lady that was recommended to me and she does part time but is currently full, although she may have a spot opening in August.

After complaining to anyone who would listen yesterday, I finally have bubbles or popping or what I'm guessing has to be movement! Yay!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: Yay! That's awesome! Last night Jackson was moving so much that I made DH put his hand on my belly to see if he could feel it too and he could. It only lasted about 3 minutes but I love those moments!
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@jetsa: Yay!!! So exciting!!! I'm still only feeling random gurgles but it is VERY low so I wonder if it actually is the baby. But it happens so often and it's like nothing I've felt before so I am convinced that it is. DH still can't feel anything though and it's never consistent - just a quick gurgle here, quick gurgle there.
clementine / 818 posts
@char54: Mine are pretty low, and they feel like sort of rolling sensations. You can't feel them at all on the outside. Totally not consistent, they were super strong and frequent yesterday, and today, nothin.... Its super strange.
@marionberry: I can not wait until DH can feel them!
@jetsa: Yay for movement! I think we are going to have a nanny type situation for childcare. We only need someone 3 days a week, which I'm really grateful for, so those 2 days sort of off set the cost difference for us.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@MrsStormy: how did you go about finding a nanny? We considered it but don't know where to start. Since we only need someone 2 days a week we'd be totally down for it.
@MrsStormy: @char54: my movements are super low as well.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: @mrsstormy: At first I got the gurgling sensation for a few weeks but then it went straight to that muscle spasm feeling which I'm sure has to be a kick or something. Sometimes I can even feel more than that. It's weird but no way it's not baby.
apricot / 251 posts
@MrsStormy: I wish we could get a nanny - but a lot of the women I've talked to want a full-time position. it's hard to find someone willing to do just 3 days per week around where I am.
