@Mrs squirreld: I am insanely in love with Jackson too! Every time he moves I just get so excited and so happy. I can't wait until I can feel him even more and see his little foot print through my belly. I think I'd die if anything ever happened to him.

  2. MamaMagpie

@evenstar982: thank you! We definitely like more unusual names, and so it makes me happy when other people like them, too!

@Mrs squirreld: @marionberry: I admit, it took me several weeks after our BFP to feel any connection to LO (I was beyond excited, but think I was just bracing myself for something bad to happen because I felt like it was too easy/too good to be true). BUT I am now so freaking in love with this little guy that I can't imagine how it will feel to actually meet him and watch him grow! I think being able to feel him move has really made the connection stronger, don't you? Also, I started writing letters to him in a journal, just talking about the milestones we are experiencing, and I tear up every time I write thinking about sharing the journal with him someday. Oh, my heart!

    Due: September 27th
    Located: California
    Child #: First!
    Team?: Green!
Kicks?: I feel movement regularly, but I'm not confident enough to call them kicks, hopefully soon!
How I'm feeling: So much better than in the first tri! I have energy and I don't feel non stop sick, woohoo!
    Cravings?: Slushies, slurpees, icees, mmmmm!
Baby names: Still have no clue, I'm sure something will come to us eventualy, but we are in no rush.

Well my anatomy scan is in a half hourish, and I'm totally nervous, I don't know what my problem is but still before every appointment I feel totally anxious. Praying for a healthy baby! I'll keep you ladies updated.

@MrsStormy: good luck at the anatomy scan! I always get nervous for appointments, too. I think now that our anatomy scan is done and everything looks good, though, I won't be such a wreck. I hope the same goes for you!

  6. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@MrsStormy: i am having some jitters too! haven't felt the baby move as much today - can't wait for the movements to become more regular so that i can stop worrying so much. will be going to get a milkshake with my lunch so maybe that will perk her up!
    hope all goes well!

  7. MrsStormy

    clementine / 818 posts

Okay, done with my scan, everything looks good, Baby is a serious wiggle worm so we didn't really get any good pictures, but thats okay. We are still team green, nobody spoiled out surprise also baby was moving so much Dr. really couldn't get a good view so I don't know that he knows what it is either. Everything is measuring perfect, yay!

@mrsmoreau: That milkshake or some juice will probably get baby rocking and rolling!

We got our nursery painting done this weekend so that was a nice thing to have crossed off the list.

@MrsStormy: woohoo! And doesn't it feel good to cross things off the list?

Oh my gosh!!! DH just felt the baby kick for the first time!!! It's been a pretty rough day and that cheered me up

just had another name wave - Verity Alexandria.
My Grandma picked it out and I am liking it so far.... I love the meaning - "Truth Defending Man"
Maybe she'll be a lawyer one day haha. it is fun to think about what these little beebs will grow up to be like.

What are your thoughts on names - DH thinks that kids grow into their names, and there is no such thing as a "wrong name" for someone. I find naming the baby one of the most stressful things about being pregnant! what if we pick wrong?!?!

  11. MrsStormy

    clementine / 818 posts

@MamaMagpie: It feels great! Yay for your husband feeling the baby, that is so exciting! Hope your day is better today.

@mrsmoreau: I sort of agree with your husband, that kids will grow into their names, I mean part of why names fit people is because you know them as that, so I certainly don't think you can pick wrong. I just want to pick a name that DH and I will always love, that hopefully LO will like as well. I also think it has to do with not putting expectations onto a name, like picking a spunky name and hoping for a spunky kid, because they may be shy and quiet, who knows

@Mrs squirreld: omg at 20 weeks, ppl are crazy. We are only 4 weeks from V-day and its already showing traits of us! Mine was trying so hard to suck on its hand our entire anatomy scan, and I sucked my thumb until I was in kindergarten so pretty accurate!

Due: September 18 or 22 depending on LMP or ovulation
    Located: Illinois
    Child #: First
    Team?: Green
Kicks?: Feeling movement but nothing I'd call kicks yet!
How I'm feeling: OK, I'm already uncomfortable and if I try to do to much I start feeling really bad.
    Cravings?: All kinds of tea!
Baby names: Claudia (Joy?) or Jack (Augustus?), undecided on the middle names

  14. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@jetsa: i love augustus as a middle name. Joy was on our list of potential middle names too!

  15. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@mrsmoreau: I kind of want something 'geeky' either harry potter or comic related (but not an obvious connection) but I haven't found anything perfect yet.

  16. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@jetsa: I think Logan Augustus is a pretty fab name. Logan is a common name, and not many people make the connection right away.
Turns out Verity is a character in HP, so I'm obviously looking for something "geeky" too

  17. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@jetsa: what about an "M" name to go with Joy to tie in the Spiderman reference??

  18. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@mrsmoreau: I like both of those but Claudia and Jack are family names, so we want to keep those and find middle names to go with them. Though I love Logan Augustus, it sounds so great together!

  19. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@jetsa: middle name options for geeks:

    GIRLS
Claudia Hermione (a bit of a mouthful for a mn)
    Claudia Jean (Jean Grey)
Claudia Rogue (I think this is awesome)

    BOYS
    Jack Logan
    Jack Xavier (for Charles)
    Jack Parker (for Spidey)
    Jack Cedric

You could go wild and do Jack Severus. haha

  20. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@mrsmoreau: you are awesome! I really like Claudia Rogue too. Our fams would think we were nuts lol, my middle name is sunshine though so my mom can't say much.

  21. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@jetsa: who cares what the family says. it could ALWAYS be worse. for instance, DH went to school with a girl named Shanda Leer. No joke.
Additionally, the superintendent of our school district is named Otto Graph.
I also went to school with a boy named George George George III.

so Claudia Rogue is relatively normal.

Grrrr ladies I am so frustrated!! My ultrasound was scheduled for today....yesterday they called me to resched it to 11:00am, meaning that as a teacher I'd have to take the full day off work instead of just a 1/2 day in the afternoon. After a lot of wrangling around at school I got it all sorted out and DH had taken time off too, since he works 45 min out of town.

I get a call at 7am this morning saying that my appointment was cancelled!!! It's too late for me to cancel my substitute which means I will still be docked this full sick day for nothing. I pleaded my case and she said she would have someone call me back in 30 minutes. I am SO hoping they can squeeze us in - I was looking forward to this ultrasound so much!!!

  23. Charm54

    cantaloupe / 6885 posts

Okay phew, all is well (sorry for the crazy lady freak out in the previous post!)- the lady in the ultrasound dept felt so bad for me having to take the full day off (pregnancy hormones???) that they kept my appointment. NOW I'm excited to see our little baby!!! He/she has been kicking much stronger as of the past few days. I can feel it on the outside but every time I call DH over the baby gets stage fright, lol.

  24. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@char54: that's a relief! honestly, use those hormones to your advantage! they should know better than to cancel those appointments anyway! hope all goes well!

Kicks?: Sometimes yes. It's getting more frequent and I can feel it moving more often.
How I'm feeling: Good! Tired quite often and have had back pain.
Cravings?: None, really. I do like apple juice & applesauce more than usual now, but not a craving.
Baby names: I really like Cora or Hailey for a girl & Jacob or Colton for a boy. DH hasn't given me his opinions really, other than that he at some point needs to think about it.

Ultrasound went great!! Baby was flip flopping everywhere, doing kicks and somersaults like crazy. The tech had a hard time getting a good profile shot. It was so neat to see! We told her we were team green so she said in that case they don't even bother looking for the goods (baby had its legs crossed at the ankles, not sure if that would have interfered if we wanted to know). But at the end she told me "Roll over to your side to see if she'll move......um....he/she..I call them all she....really.."

I wonder if that was a slip up or if she really was just using it ambiguously ! I was feeling hardcore boy for so long, but now I'm starting to think maybe it's a little girl growing inside me.

The baby's heartbeat was 145 and was measuring 1-2 days ahead of my original due date. Can't wait to meet LO in person soon

@char54: Yay for a great appt! My mom used to be an ultrasound tech and my husband swore she just called the baby 'he' at lunch after our anatomy scan but she says she doesn't know.

  37. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@char54: i think people tend to use a he or she pronoun - "it" seems impersonal, and the tech wouldn't want to say "they" - that would create quite a commotion I'm sure!
I think it's awesome that you are team green - i could never handle the suspense!

  38. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@char54: Ahhh, I wonder if maybe you ARE having a girl! By the law of averages, a significant number of the Team Greeners should be Team Pink to even it out FWIW our tech referred to her as "baby" throughout and then asked us if we wanted to know at the end.

  39. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: @char54: I'm calling freudian slip and saying that the tech and your mom were probably telling you the truth...but who knows. I could never do Team Green. Good for you guys or I should say, ladies!
