@jetsa: Ya I think my hubby was the only one in the world wanting a girl, lol. But he's pretty in love with his son now.

@char54: I totally refer to our baby as a she sometimes on accident simply because it feels weird not have he/she attached to it.
I was actually just thinking today how surprising it is how many of us are team green! When I told everyone at our Dr's office that we weren't finding out they were totally surprised and impressed. They said almost no one does that anymore, so it made them excited to find out for us, especially since the Dr. wont put in the file what it is so there is no turning back!

@MrsStormy: I agree - there's a lot of TGers on here and I don't know hardly any IRL! I'm glad our hospital doesn't write down the sex anywhere either...I would hate for everyone else to know but me! Lol !

@mrsstormy @char54 I am so surprised that there are so many Team Green. It's so fun to have partners in crime.
Both of my ultra sound techs said they might use he or she but it was just to avoid "it". We were Team Green with our first baby and it was fun at delivery all the nurses on staff were making guesses and had to stop by to see if they guessed correctly!

Has anyone done any DIY projects? I've been sewing a ton of cloth wipes, decorating some onsies and I'm going to start on a crib skirt next!!

SQUEAL!!!!!!!!!! I made an online registry since people have started asking us what we want/need. And I just got a notification that something had been purchased!!! AND it's THIS!!!!!! Petunia Picklebottom Boxy Backpack in Santiago Sunset!!!! I am sooo excited!!! I nearly wasn't going to put it on the registry because let's face it, it's not really a necessity to have a nappy bag that expensive, but I justified it by the fact they were on sale for 50% off and once the sale ended I would remove it from our registry. Eeeeek!! I can't wait for it to arrive! I feel soooo super spoilt.

@Mrs squirreld: those wipes are too cute! I can't remember but are you planning to cloth diaper? Love the onesie too and that diaper bag is gorgeous!
I got my diaper bag at the weekend because I stopped by kiddicare and since it's so far from home I wanted to treat myself to something what with DH being away
I love that mine fits our woodsy theme but is still cute but grown up... Here's a link (can't upload pic):

@evenstar982: Thanks! Yes, we plan to cloth diaper I am so excited about the diaper bag, cause its the one thing I can get away with being girly!! lol Your diaper bag is gorgeous too!!!! I love that print!!

@Mrs squirreld: yay, me too! I want to start making some wipes etc, I've been focused on decorating the nursery so far but all I have left for that is to make the curtains. Where did you find the instructions for making your wipes? They look pretty simple but I can't see how you dealt with the raw edges?
nectarine / 2522 posts
@evenstar982: Since we are moving I can't focus too much on the nursery so sewing is my outlet!! I double sewed mine cause I don't like the raw edges - looks so much neater!... I'll try and find the tutorial for you
nectarine / 2522 posts
@evenstar982: Thank goodness for history on youtube! Here you go! This is how I did mine! I just did my corners rounded as I like that look better. P.S. Make sure you prewash the material before you cut to size and sew to prevent shrinkage!!

@Mrs squirreld: You are the crafty queen! I wish I could do all of those things but I've never used a sewing machine lol. You should create an etsy shop lol. And awesome diaper bag! How cool that you got something off of your registry so early!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: I know I'm soooo excited to get it! My friends who bought it live in another state, I guess they wanted to get in early! I definately don't have enough time for an etsy shop! Lol

@Mrs squirreld: after seeing your other post I decided to try my hand at an applique onesie and made this last night! I think it turned out cute for my first time blanket stitching, it' d be way easier if I'd get my sewing machine out but it and I argue. I may have to try those cloth wipes. I registered for 3 different kinds.

@Mrs squirreld: I made some onesies! There were supposed to be more gender neutral but they are sort of boyish colors (honestly I don't really care- they are bright and cute), so I need to make a headband flower in matching colors in case its a girl. They are far from perfect, but it was fun! I dyed plain white ones and then made the appliques.
ETA: I also have an octopus one, but it wasn't done when I took this picture.

Been MIA for a little while. Had an offer accepted on a house so we've been dealing with all those things. Hope to hear back today or tomorrow if the sellers accept our revised offer post-inspection!
Had the anatomy ultrasound yesterday. We are "Team Unidentifiable" lol. The baby was kicking and punching and turning it's head but kept twisting the wrong way every time the tech was looking for you-know-what. Everything was measuring normal and healthy......... except when we met with the doctor after the ultrasound she said they saw two cysts in the brain. My heart dropped. The doctor tried to assure us that they see this "a lot" and that most cysts go away around 25 weeks (I'm 19 weeks now) but of course I am worrying. Apparently brain cysts can be a "soft marker" for Down's Syndrome, but since my quad screen came back with normal levels they expect the cysts to just go away and not cause any problems. But they want to take all necessary precautions so now we have to get a Level II ultrasound and meet with a high risk specialist in the city. Cue the waterworks. DH is trying his best to prevent me from worrying because he says if I stress then the baby is stressed, but poor DH is worried himself! I thought it best to avoid Dr. Google but it turns out in this case it has actually calmed my fears a little because these cysts do in fact appear to be fairly common and most go away without any problems. Some doctors are hesitant to even mention them to expectant mothers because they are seen so often and usually resolve without any issue. The city hospital is supposed to call us with an appointment so we are waiting to hear from them. I keep telling myself that this is probably nothing and will go away and we will meet our healthy and adorable lil cuddlebug in a few months but I'll gladly take any good thoughts or prayers you send this way.

@maplemoose that sucks. I can't imagine how stressed you are try to take a breath and not worry too much. Sending out prayers and positive vibes for you right now.
I am a worrier to so I can only imagine how stressed this is making you. I went to an acupuncturist for anxiety and it really helped me feel more at ease about things that are out of my control.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@MapleMoose: I actually just heard a story of a baby having a cyst in the brain, but it never said what the outcome was. It does seem rather common though, so do try not to worry. I will be praying for you and your baby!
I am so jealous of all of your creative things you've made! I just buy mine from creative people on etsy, lol. @mrssquirreld: My DH would kill for me to make a robot onesie like you did. He loves robots!

@marionberry: Thank you! I keep telling myself its common so stop worrying but well, you know how that goes lol
pomelo / 5469 posts
@MapleMoose: From what I've read, it does sound like a pretty common thing at this stage and they disappear later on. I know it's so hard not to worry when you have information like this, but you just have to keep focused on holding that beautiful little baby in a few months time and know there's nothing you can do regardless of the outcome. You'll be in my thoughts x
apricot / 251 posts
@MapleMoose: Praying for a healthy outcome. your DH is right - stressing will not help the baby. so do try to relax. I know it is difficult! I will keep you in my thoughts

@illumina: and @mrsmoreau: Totally right, DH and I have been trying to distract ourselves with picking a name -- well two names since we aren't sure of the sex.
pomelo / 5469 posts
@MapleMoose: Good plan! The name game can be very distracting and endless!

@MrsStormy: @jetsa: @Mrs squirreld: WOW - you ladies are super talented!!! I can't imagine what horrors would come out of me vs a sewing machine, lol
@MapleMoose: Poor you!! How stressful! Totally reassuring that they are so common and I hope you get a positive answer quickly so you can stop worrying. It must be near impossible not to!
Today my second graders made mothers day cards....I totally started tearing up (what is WITH my hormones??!!) Lol. They were writing the sweetest things and it just reminded me that this time next year I will have a LO of my own.
DH surprised me with mother day flowers today AND getting our house cleaner to come (she usually only comes 2x per month and this is her off week) so I would have a clean house for the weekend. I didn't think he would even acknowledge mother's day so he gets major major brownies points!
clementine / 818 posts
@MapleMoose: I am so sorry, that is super stressful! I would totally have a hard time not worrying about that too. I will say though, I have heard of that, and from a few people who have had that found in their ultasounds, nothing came of it, so there is so so so much hope that is nothing. Praying for you guys though! Also it's good that you get another ultrasound, a chance to see the baby again, maybe find out the sex and calm your fears.

@char54: thats why I hand stitched mine, I own a sewing machine and it and I are not friends Also your husband is so sweet!

@char54: and @MrsStormy: Thank you ladies. It's reassuring to hear from real people that these were found and then they went away.
@jetsa: Cute!!

@Mrs squirreld: @MrsStormy: @jetsa: The DIY onesies are adorable. I would love to make a few DIY onesies but I'm such a noob, I'm not even sure where to begin. That DIY cloth wipe video was helpful and maybe I can tackle a few of those... although like @jetsa: said, my sewing machine and I not exactly bffs lol. I've see a few tutorials for painting onesies with fabric paint but the sewn ones probably stand up better after many washes. Maybe I'll make a trip to the fabric store today.... Thank you for the inspriration ladies!
