@MrsStormy: I'm so glad your class has been a great experience so far! I can't wait for mine so that I can get some of those massages. My insurance sets you up with a care manager when you're pregnant, and I just happened to have my second call with that nurse today. She went through pre-term labor, labor and breastfeeding. I learned so much but I'm sure it'll be a total repeat at my childbirth class. Oh well.

@Mrs squirreld: Ya my OB said the same. He's open to delivering breech (depending on which type of breech) but that almost scares me more than a c-section. I actually feel really ok with a c-section if that's what it comes down to. I figure there's not much we can do to change the situation so I'll just go with the flow. The ECV does sound painful though and I'm not sure we'd opt to do it unless we had a well trained sonographer involved. There's risks with that. Here's to praying both of our stubborn boys turn around!

I just wanted to pop in and say I hope you all are having a lovely month.. can't believe you all will be mamas in 2-3 months!

@runnerd so nice to see your "face". Hope you are doing well - hope you are in this position in the near future.

@jetsa: @mrssquirreld: phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one! And hooray for passing your glucose test mrssquirreld!
@meltini: woohoo!! Doesn't it feel great?!
@marionberry: I'm sure LO will cooperate and turn around!
@sorrycharlie: I bet it's crazy to think you were in this boat just last year
ETA: (for some reason my page didn't refresh or something)
My doctor hasn't even talked to me about/determined LOs position...should I ask next week?! And I haven't been told about a cervical ultrasound, either...hmmmm.

It's official my centre of gravity has changed... I fell on my butt tonight...ouch. Glad I overcompensated and fell backwards though..instinct to protect that bump
clementine / 818 posts
@MamaMagpie: My Dr hasn't talked about it either, nor do I know anything about a cervical ultrasound (I'm not even sure what this is?)
@runnerd: So glad to see you here! Thanks for checking in on us!
persimmon / 1436 posts
@Mrs squirreld: Oh no! Good thing you landed on your butt!
@mrsstormy: Oh thank goodness I'm not the only who hadn't heard of it! Still going to ask my OB
pomelo / 5469 posts
@Mrs squirreld: oops! Glad you weren't hurt! I find myself stumbling a little if I spin around too quickly.
So at my midwife appt today I found out that I failed my 1hr glucose test... my score was 8.1 and the cut off is 7.8 apparently. So frustrating. So now I have to schedule a 2hr test as soon as I've registered at my new doctors next week. I also had glucose in my urine, for the first time... anyone had that before? I'm not sure how much or how common it is or whether it's another indicator I may have GD. I'm getting a little freaked out... I have an aversion to most foods and am barely eating enough as it is, so to have to cut out/reduce a lot of other things doesn't sound appealing
Otherwise, baby is doing fine. She had hiccups last night which was really weird... I woke up in the middle of the night at my usual time to pee and eat a snack and after I lay down again she started hiccuping. Poor thing! Anyone else's baby had them?
persimmon / 1436 posts
@illumina: ugh bummer
Although, it really seems common to not pass the 1-hour (especially by barely missing it, like you!) and go on to pass the longer one with flying colors. I also just googled having glucose in urine as an indicator and it seems like it's not too uncommon even if you don't have GD! Fingers crossed for you, but even if you do end up having it, you will be ok!
Haven't felt any hiccups yet -- what do they feel like? Is it weird I simultaneously feel bad for them and thinks its really cute?!
pomelo / 5469 posts
@MamaMagpie: aww thanks for looking that up. I'm sure if I do have it, hopefully it will be borderline so I shouldn't have to make drastic changes to control it. Hiccups feel a bit like a heartbeat... hers were about 2/3 seconds apart and went on for about 5 minutes. They were really low, where I imagine her head to be and like short very precise tiny kicks. I felt so bad for her... I kept thinking I hope she's not choking or anything! I think Dh was stirring at the time so I nudged him and said "she has hiccups" and he was like "ok" and went back to sleep!! I couldn't go back to sleep until she had stopped and her movement went back to normal!
apricot / 491 posts
@MamaMagpie: I haven't felt them either. I can't wait to! Don't worry- I feel bad & think it's cute too!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mamamagpie: @mrsstormy: cervical ultrasounds are not routine. I had a LEEP (surgery on my cervix) years ago and it puts you at risk for premature labor so they just were making sure it hasn't shortened.
clementine / 818 posts
Well ladies, I passed my 3 hour glucose test, woohoo!
@illumina: I'm sorry about failing your 1 hour, here's to good results on your your 2 hour (which seems fairly likely since its so close?) Also I felt the baby hiccuping for the first time yesterday too! It just felt very rhythmic, almost like the baby was just poking in time to something, it was neat. It was also pretty low, which made me think that maybe baby is starting to go head down, or is head down. I read that when the baby does that it is practicing breathing.
@marionberry: Oh got it, thanks for that info!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@marionberry: At least there's time for baby to turn. My girl is always rolling and turning so I wouldn't think twice if she was breech at an ultrasound... Because she'll just turn around again in a few hours
@runnerd:
Hope all is well with the new house! We just moved into a new house and it's going to take awhile to get organized again. Taking it one room at a time.
@Mrs squirreld: Aww lol what a protective mother you are! I have been "bumping" my bump into things because I'm not used to the layout of the new house. Oops!
@illumina: Aren't hiccups funny feeling? I first felt them in the middle of the night a few weeks ago but baby was squirming and kicking so I don't think she enjoyed them.
apricot / 495 posts
Hiccups are my very favorite part of being pregnant! Call me crazy but I don't really enjoy the kicking much since the little guy seems to enjoy kicking me in the most unpleasant places (ie nightly cervix tap dance)! I could watch my belly bounce from hiccups all day though! Mine also have the rhythm of a heartbeat and last for a few minutes.
Yay @MrsStormy!! I'm so glad you passed!
Good luck on your 2 hr @illumina. You were so close that I'm sure you will pass without a problem!
persimmon / 1436 posts
@marionberry: ohhhh
thanks for explaining!
Ugh last night I was so uncomfortable for really the first time (first time *this* uncomfortable). The skin on my belly felt so tight, I'm getting weird burning/nerve pain down the front of my right thigh, I could barely eat anything because my stomach seemed to fill up really fast and I was "Thanksgiving full" after only eating half of my salad. I hope it was just a rough night and not the beginning of the third trimester ick
Anyone else not feeling quite as good as they did second tri?
ETA: Also, I feel HUGE. And I have heartburn. And I'm pretty sure morning sickness has started again. Ok, end of pity party.
grape / 98 posts
@mamamagpie I've got the icks. Such a bummer - heartburn, hip pain and I woke up in the middle of last night to get sick. Blech. I'm laying on the couch trying to decide if its going away or if I need to be sick again. Boo. Thank God DH is home to entertain our DD.
persimmon / 1436 posts
@Joanlindsay:
that totally sucks
Thank goodness your DH is there to help you! I think pregnant mothers deserve medals -- I don't know how you handle everything that comes along with pregnancy while also caring for another child! I hope to have more than one, but I just don't know how you do it!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@MamaMagpie: ugh I'm sorry. I've been uncomfortable for a while and it just seems to get worse. Latest symptoms are hip/back pain, no sleep, and I swear this child is trying to come out my belly button. I even dreamed last night my belly button ring hole had gotten infected which I'm sure is my body portraying the pain in my dreams.
@Joanlindsay: you are a rock star, I'm with @MamaMagpie: idk how you do it!
persimmon / 1436 posts
@jetsa: oh no, belly button pain?! That must be so wierd and not fun
Just think, we're almost there!

Aaaaanndd it's official. Third tri morning sickness has struck. Couldn't keep my breakfast down today
So, so bummed.
grape / 98 posts
@mamamagpie @jetsa thanks for indulging me. I'm mostly just whiny right now. Second pregnancy is definitely a different experience. Thankfully my DD is pretty easy and has been happy to play around me (instead of with me) while I feel yucky.
This 3rd trimester sickness is so lame - throwing up with the giant belly is ridiculous. @mamamagpie hope you feel better today.
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@MamaMagpie: @jetsa: Oh no. I thought we were all out of the woods as far as the morning sickness goes.
I hope this is just a temporary thing for you ladies.

@MamaMagpie: @jetsa: oh no!!! I really hope my MS doesn't return... I did just get a call from the doctors office this morning saying my iron and Vit D levels are too low. Off to get some supplements.
persimmon / 1436 posts
@Joanlindsay: I still think you're a rockstar
@jetsa: Oh, no, you too?! This is one of those things no one ever tells you before pregnancy! I mentioned it to my one IRL mommy friend and she was like "oh yah, happened to a lot of people I know". Not cool haha!
@maplemoose: @mrssquirreld: I'm still really hoping it's just a brief blip...I was so sick from 5-17 weeks and I will be super bummed if my last 11 weeks include throwing up daily!
@mrssquirreld: since you're going to be taking even more iron -- make sure to eat lots of fruit/fiber!
nectarine / 2522 posts
urghhhh... so I took my first iron tablets today and they just made me violently vomit... or maybe its a coincidence? I do NOT feel good.

Hi ladies, I am pretty hopeless about keeping up with the activity over here, so I'm just popping in to say hello and HOLY COW how is time flying so fast?! I can't believe we are almost only 10 weeks away from meeting our babies!
I won't reply individually, but mamas I hear ya on the wriggly-midnight-baby and general nighttime discomfort, after over 2 hours trying to get to sleep last night I had to get up and go and eat some cereal to calm the monster who was kicking me in the ribs and the pelvis simultaneously!
On the plus side, we ordered our carseat/infant carrier this weekend, so now we officially have all the "big" purchases crossed off the list, yay!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Mrs squirreld: Ugh, I'm sorry it is no fun.
@evenstar982: Yay for being done! We still need all our nursery furniture, our final showers are in 2 weeks though so we are waiting until after that.
@MamaMagpie: I think mine is officially back. I didn't throw up first trimester so thats a symptom I hope I don't gain but the mornings of just feeling like crap seem to be back.
@MapleMoose: Thanks me too!

@MamaMagpie: @Mrs squirreld: Oh no!! I hope that you ladies feel better...so not fun! We're in the home stretch now though...babies will be here before we know it!
I am finally starting to get some things accomplished...we ordered our crib and other baby things last night. DH and I ended up ordering most of the things from the US and we will go across the border to pick it up once it's in. So much cheaper and such a wider selection!
The heartburn has been killer again...Zantac is my best friend. I am also hungry allllllll the time - DH makes fun of me because my purse is full of snacks, he calls me a human vending machine , lol.

sorry for those that are feeling some MS
I haven't experienced that but think I am starting to get restless leg syndrome which is kind of just an annoying sensation at this point.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@MrsClownfish: Thanks for the link
Day 2... so far I have kept my tablets down.
Sleep is clearly becoming a thing of the past... between pins and needles and bub having a soccer match in my uterus there isn't muh time for shut eye... plus with a pending move I have soooooo much to do.
persimmon / 1436 posts
@pmerr: I think I felt hiccups for the first time today!
@mrsclownfish: I'm so afraid of restless legs! I hope it's not too bad for you
@mrssquirreld: hooray for keeping down the tablets! Boo for not sleeping
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@MrsClownfish: ugh, I hear you on the restless legs! Usually in te early evening it hits. I've found taking a shower or going for a walk really helps!

I'm so sorry some of you girls are feeling sick again
I haven't gotten that yet, and I'm crossing my fingers I don't. I have gotten a few charlie horses in the middle of the night which is not fun, I have been stretching before bed though and that seems to be helping.
It is so hot here (like 110+) right now it is unbearable, by the end of the day yesterday I was exhausted, I think just from being in and out of the heat all day!

Does anyone else just want to take a nap? We took our hospital tour this weekend. Hard to believe we will all be having BABIES in a few short months!!
