@jetsa: Jeans, tank top and cardigan for one set. A dress for the other. I didn't really go all out for my pictures. Just grabbed something from my closet that I didn't think made me look really bad.
@illumina: I think my baby has moved this week too, hopefully into head down. It certainly feels different than when he was breech. I hope yours goes back to the right position! Glad to hear your cramping went away!

Well we just got back from our family vacation and it was so fun, a great last vacation before having a baby! We got to spend a ton of time at the lake, the pool, with family, and just relaxing! My co workers have informed me that my belly looks different today, so maybe that means baby is getting into position (since it wasn't there at our last appointment). Also I didn't want to tell them but I gained like 4lbs during vacation, thats soooo much! I'm hoping that getting back to eating well that will come off quickly ish since its not pregnancy or baby related!
I can not believe its August and babies will start coming soon, although I'm due at the end of August so it is still a while for us! I'm feeling a little panicky thinking about needing to start getting more prepared in case the baby comes early! It is such a strange feeling to feel like my due date is so soon, yet still so far away!

i have to keep telling myself that even though everyone thinks the baby is coming early, and there are some VERY early signs of her arrival, I could very well be pregnant for another 7-8 WEEKS!
so i am really trying not to be impatient/anxious. although I am pretty sure I am the LEAST patient person in the universe so.....

@mrsmoreau: Yes me too, although I'm due a few weeks after you. October 1 is the date I keep repeating in my head....and then I talk to my husband and he tells me beginning-middle of September...

Oh I feel sooooo behind! I'm trying to read the last few pages.
We finally just got our internet reconnected, so I feel normal again. DH has just left for his first shift in his new (old) job. The house still has SOME boxes, but isn't too bad.... moving when pregnant is a little tough... actually the moving wasn't bad, as gratefully it was done for us, but unpacking was not. The last 4 days I feel like I am walking on glass..... my feet KILL! It probably doesn't help that the house is completely tiled... I'm online trying to find some birkenstocks right now!
I had my first appt here for my 32 week checkup.. we just see a midwife up at the hospital which is nice I'm excited to start classes and get a proper tour. The weather is absolutely glorious! 30 degrees Celsius (86F) everyday and it's the middle of winter! Summer will be scarey though! Welcome to the North of Australia! lol
At my 32 week check up they did find a trace of protein in my urine So I'll be going back next week for another sample. Hopefully its just my body trying to fight off a cold or something not pre-E. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies! I have no other symptoms and feel the best I have felt the whole pregnancy... seriously! MY BP was borderline at my appt, but it always is when I'm at the docs.. but it's fine when I monitor it at home. Anyway, there is no point in worrying about it, because if I do have it there is nothing I can do to prevent it! Has anyone else had trace amounts and everything has been fine?
Bub is moving about so much, we quite often see crazy belly movement... its so wonderful. DH is so in love with the little guy. I can't believe Im 33 weeks today, time has gone so fast and it's September next month!!! And some of us I'm sure will have our bubs this month!! EEeeeeek... I need to get this nursery organised pronto!!!

@mrs squirreld I had protein in my urine t my last appt but since my bp was great at 106/64 he said it was probably just discharge

@mrsmoreau: I'm totally impatient too! It's hard to remind myself this baby could be late when I've really had this feeling he'll be early.
@mrs. squirreld: So happy you're loving your new place and new hospital! I want to come visit! Try not to worry too much about the protein in your urine. It's likely nothing and like you said, there's nothing you can do if it is. And if it helps, my friend actually had pre-e and delivered her baby at 28 weeks. She's perfectly happy and healthy now so even if the worst happens, it will still be perfectly ok in the end.

@MrsClownfish: @marionberry: Thanks Ladies... I think if I had other symptoms I'd be more worried, but I 'll take the what will be will be approach instead I'll just enjoy feeling great!
I totally feel like he's going to be early all the time... I haven't even considered he maybe an October baby! The policy here is they won't induce til 10 days past your DD unless for medical reasons, so he could be an October baby!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: So is baby still breech? I think ours may have turned but I really have a hard time telling on my own. I can never tell if the big lump is a head or a butt. And despite the impatience, I would love for my baby to be an October baby because I am...even though he wouldn't be a scorpio like me. Since you and I are due on the same day, it'll be interesting to see whose baby is born first!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: yeah he was breech spine to spine yesterday. But the midwife said don't even think about it at this stage. He moves around ALOT so I'm not too worried the race is totally on!!! Will be funny if we have them the same day!!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: Ya my doctor has said I have until 36 weeks for him to flip. I think he moves a lot too, like yours. That would be awesome if they shared birthdays! What if like 4 of us girls had our babies on the same day? I wonder what the odds are.
pomelo / 5041 posts
Has anyone noticed longer periods of inactivity? I can still always complete my kick count but there seems to be far more quiet time than there used to be. Is this due to him running out of room?
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: My baby is a lot less active too...I only ever feel soft rolls and not big jabs like I used to. Hope it means he or she is growing so much that room is getting tight!
cherry / 199 posts
@char54 @marionberry I am so glad to hear you both say this because I was just thinking that I had not felt as much movement today.
Def more rolling around than jabs. Of course I then torment the baby by poking at it to get it to move which I am sure it loves....LOL

So I have to share this crazy scary moment I had today. Back story is that I had eaten breakfast around 9:30 and then at 1:30 was out shopping at Target to quickly pick up a few things I needed with a plan to grab lunch right afterward. After walking around the store about 10 minutes I started feeling like I had low blood sugar. I get like this on occasion but it's never that bad and being around a diabetic husband who gets low blood sugar a lot I know all of the symptoms. So I realize I need to stop shopping and head to the checkout so I can hurry on to get food. Well I get to the checkout line and by this point I'm starting to sweat which I know is a bad sign. And every checkout lane is full! I stand in one that I thought would go quickly but it turns out this is the slowest checker ever. As I stand in line I keep staring at the food court area contemplating leaving my cart and just grabbing food as I know that in minutes I am soon going to pass out. By this point my heart is racing, I'm light headed and I've literally sweat-soaked my dress. After what seemed like forever and $225 worth of stuff later, the lady in front of me finally finishes and I'm able to purchase my two items before running out of the store to grab one of my husband's diabetic sugar tablets out of the car. Thankfully it helped long enough for me to get to a fast food joint and scarf down a ton of food...but it was so scary! I will never go a few hours without eating something again. In addition to being scared for myself I was then scared for the baby but he moved frequently and I made DH doppler me to check his HB for reassurance. Lesson learned girls...please don't repeat what I did!
On a positive note, we need to update with new bump pictures. Here's mine from today! 32w1d.

@marionberry: oh my gosh, that was so scary! I'm so so glad you had a sugar tablet in the car! I try to keep a protein bar in my purse but have definitely not been as good about not letting myself get really hungry from time to time. I also let myself get pretty dehydrated on Wednesday after our move (which was the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had) and feel SO guilty and worried for poor beb in there
You look so great, by the way! I need to catch up with you ladies tomorrow and post my latest bump pic
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: omg what a scary moment! That's a good reminder for me to keep snacks in my purse all the time...I usually do since I get so hungry with this pregnancy but it is definitely not a habit. Glad you made it through before you passed out! You look FABULOUS, by the way! Today is my baby shower (very nervous/excited) so ill take a pic and post it later today. Countdown is on!!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: @mamamagpie: I always have snacks in my purse but had switched to a clutch to lighten my load. From now on I'll have to put a fruit leather or something else in there. Thank you for the kind words about how I look. I think iPhone pics and Instagram always make me look better than I do in reality. The few photos I've gotten back from my maternity pics feature my double chin lol. Thank you swelling!
@char54: Have a great time at your shower today! I have mine today as well. I can't wait to hear what you got!

@char54: @marionberry: happy shower day to you both!!! I hope you enjoy yourselves to the fullest and just sit back and let your friends and family love on you

@MamaMagpie: thank you!
It was such a fabulous day. My sisters, mom, SIL and BFF went all out with a book theme...I will have to post pictures. I felt so loved and overwhelmed...my baby is one lucky kid! I got some great stuff too, the highlights being a mamaroo, oxo sprout high chair, and Kate Spade diaper bag. Totally spoiled!! Now I feel ready for this kid

@char54: I'm so glad you had such a great shower! So happy you got some great, larger items! Mine was pretty great too. My mom went all out with southern food - honestly that was my favorite part, haha. We got a lot more clothes and such at this one but I did pick up my video monitor and lots of bathroom, health items that we needed. I just wrote up a list of all the things we need to buy now and it totaled quite a chunk of change. Thank goodness for our savings!

@marionberry: oh my gosh! Glad you are ok! That is super scary! Next time ditch the groceries and get food... or bust into one of the chocolate bars at the checkout!
@char54: @marionberry: Glad you had lovely showers! I want to see photos and @marionberry: you had maternity photos done and we haven't seen them??!!!
Is anyone else having major nursery furniture arrangement issues.... Our room space just isn't quite right. Its totally frustrating me! I must have moved it a hundred times...but on a plus side I can't wait for our tree decal to get here... look! So pretty (I mean super manly!) It is huge... takes up one wall!
nectarine / 2522 posts
Oh and here's me today. 33+2 in the mess that is my nursery! Haha
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: You look so cute! We took maternity photos last week and I've only seen a handful. We should get the rest soon. I'm not loving all of them but some are pretty good. My friend took them when our photographer just stopped responding. We had the same room arrangement issues. I think we moved things around about 3 times before we got it to work. Our room is kind of small which didn't help. I'm sure you'll find the perfect solution. I can't wait to see your tree decal! You sound just like me...making a pretty room that also has to be manly lol.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: Glad you had a good shower as well! It felt really good to go through our "need to buy list" and finally know what we have left to buy. I agree - there's still quite a bit. I think I will place a couple of big Amazon orders in the next couple of weeks!
@Mrs squirreld: Ohhh that decal is gorg!! And you look so pretty. I haven't stepped foot in our nursery since we only move in 2 weeks (so don't feel bad, you can't be farther behind than I am, hahaha!) but I have a visual furniture configuration in my head. Who knows if it will work out though - I think the room is smaller than I'm anticipating.
Does anyone have their hospital bag packed yet? We are in the middle of packing all of our things for the move and I'm worried that I won't be able to find anything and I'll go into labor early. I'm thinking of packing a small "just in case" bag with the essentials and then adding to it after we move. I have the diaper bag now so at least I can pack baby's bag. I can't believe we are far enough along to even be thinking of this stuff!!! SO NUTS.
My BFF is a month ahead of me (due August 19th) and her Dr is inducing her at 39 weeks, so next week! It's crazy because we've been pregnant together for so long, and now her LO is on his way. I'm so excited for her!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: @char54: naw thanks ladies! Yeah our nursery is super small too! Which didn't help. But I think I've finally come to a happy arrangement now!! Yay! So I'm going to start putting stuff on the walls
@char54: I packed a basic hospital bag before we moved, which basically had everything I'd need cause I was worried that if something happened in the move and I had to go to hospital
DH would have no idea on what and where to find stuff. I will repack it again soon just so it feels more right, but it felt good to have a bag ready with us in the move.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: @mrssquirreld: I have my hospital bag about half packed. So much of it will need to be added at the last minute. I did make a list though of what needed to go in there still and what has already been packed and put it on the desktop of our computer because I'll be on a trip to Seattle next weekend and if something were to happen, DH would have to drive up, bringing me my bag and all of the necessary contents. There are also a few items I still need to buy for it, so I should probably think about picking those up today. Baby Jackson's bag is already packed luckily, though I didn't end up using his diaper bag. I just grabbed a really small duffle we have as it seemed easier than trying to cram everything in my diaper bag.
Has anyone picked their baby's going home outfit? I think we did but I don't have a cute hat that matches so I need to find one. I also haven't 100% decided on what I'm wearing home either. I have an outfit for a vaginal delivery but I think I need to add a maxi dress in the event of a c-section.
grape / 98 posts
@marionberry what are you packing to wear at the hospital? I'm struggling with this. I feel SO big right now and I know from last time I'll still be about 5 month size after I just can't wrap my head around anything feeling cute.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Joanlindsay: After reading through other HB posts I bought an outfit from Motherhood Maternity that has pj pants, a nursing tank and a light robe for $48 and then I bought some VS wide legged yoga pants and a Target nursing tank for another outfit. I'm hoping those will be ok. I also purchased a nightgown from Target which will be great while I'm laying around the hospital. I haven't had a baby before though so I'm just trusting in what others have said. I bought things that fit me now and I'm just hoping they'll still fit well and not be too big after labor. Like I said in my post above, I do need to pick out a maxi dress or something to leave in just in case I have a c-section and don't want things touching my belly.
grape / 98 posts
@marionberry that sounds good. I've been trying to find some cute yoga pants might have to make a target run this week. Thanks for the input.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: @Joanlindsay: I just bought these..nursing pj set & nursing nightgown ... will also have yoga pants and nursing singlets.. hopefully it will be ok. I am totally clueless too!
Is anyone else planning on wearing a postpartum corset/belt to assist with the uterus retracting back?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@char54: mine is not packed yet. I'll probably wait until 37 weeks because the bag I want to use we take to the lake every weekend and we aren't closing up until Sept 1....hopefully I'm not tempting fate
@marionberry: @Joanlindsay: I actually really like walmart's danskin line of yoga pants. I bought a pair a few years ago and because they're stretchy they still fit. I'll bring those and a nursing tank and then probably a PJ outfit with a button down top. I get them every year for Christmas so I'd think one should fit. I'll also probably bring a maxi dress just in case I have a section.
@Mrs squirreld: my friend, who's never had a child, keeps suggesting this but I'd never heard of it what are the pros/cons?
@Mrs squirreld: also super cute outfits there!
Does anyone else's hospital give out carseats as a standard thing? We were given one so we hadn't purchased but I had never heard of that until our childbirth class.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@jetsa: Basically they just help the uterus contract faster, can help push your hips/pelvis back to pre-pregnancy and provide support, help reduce back strain etc etc... I know some women who swear by them and just loved them as it gave them a smoother shape straight away without having the big loose belly and some who gave up cause they didn't like feeling constricted. Some women wear them bed and everything, only really taking them off to shower. I think Jessica Alba wore one for like 3 months (!!) yikes!
I think I would like it for feeling put together.. i like the constricted feeling when you wear the sucky in pants...lol and hey if it helps my uterus contract faster I'm all for that too.
My hospital hires out baby capsules.. but doesn't GIVE you one... that's crazy!!??
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Mrs squirreld: hmm interesting, I'll have to research that more. Yes I thought it was crazy they give one out because everyone I talk to buys one, I guess they figure its billable to insurance.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@jetsa: There are tons of different ones out there... hard to know where to begin...
