@MrsClownfish: Ohh I can imagine!! If we do end up moving I will probably end up staying at home (not sure how I feel about that still) but if we stay in our current city LO will probably do a daycare/grandma combo. Haven't even begun to fathom how much that would be but I'm hoping it's not outrageous!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mrsclownfish: I had an IUI so have a 10% chance of twins. I agree with you that I wouldn't mind them, but don't know how I'd afford daycare.
@char54: you and I are so alike...cramping (freak out)...no cramping (freak out). Thank God I can barely keep my eyes awake even right now at almost 1pm or else I'd be worried I wasn't pregnant. I heard most of the big symptoms like morning sickness don't happen until 6 weeks..so maybe we just have a bit of time to wait still.

@duckduckkristen: It is funny that you say that - I am the complete opposite! I am more worried this time (#2) that my first go round. I think it is because my first pregnancy went SO smoothly. hardly any symptoms, awesome labor & delivery, etc etc.
I'm worried about this one because to have another perfect pregnancy would be too good to be true! but i am trying to control the crazy.

@marionberry: I'm on #2 as well, if you have any questions or anything i can try to answer them! and pretty much nothing is TMI for me - I have a strong stomach haha!
I am working on writing my birth story as well, once it's done I will post it somewhere... depending on length, i don't want to clog up our board!

@futuremama, @char54, @marionberry, I'm so with you!! I had a lot of cramping last week and this week, I've barely had any. I actually don't feel that fatigued either, no more than usual, so of course I'm worried all the time! But, I am trying to "enjoy" it in the hopes that a few months from now, I'm going to wish I had!
@mrsclownfish, I'm a fraternal twin, too! (My uncles on my dad's side are as well). I've always tried to research what that meant as far as my chance of having twins, but I've never been able to figure it out conclusively.
cherry / 199 posts
@Izzy based upon my research you have a 1/17 chance of having fraternal twins if you, your mother or your grandmother is a fraternal twin or had fraternal twins (as it is genetic on the mother's side based upon if you drop more than one egg at a time)
Otherwise the odds are 1/69 for those that do not fit into the situation above (and not on fertility medications)

@mrsclownfish, but it's your grandmother on your mother's side, is that correct? Such interesting info, thank you!

Another stomach-sleeper here! I'm also taking full advantage of being able to do it while I still can... even if my boobs do feel like somebody punched them when I lay on my front!
@marionberry: I am slap in the middle of week 6... and yes, I can attest to the morning sickness getting steadily worse! I feel like somebody has switched my sense of smell up to 11! Worst part is, when I get even remotely hungry the nausea sets in... the only 'cure' is to eat something - but half the time I can hardly face it.
On the plus side, the more symptoms I am 'suffering' the happier (and less freaking out) I am
So exciting to see this thread so active already, I am so thankful to have some other ladies to chat to since DH and I have decided NOT to go public (including with our parents) until after the first (and still yet-to-be-scheduled) scan once we're 100% everything is ok.

@mrsmoreau: Thank you. I will definitely consult you for advice now that I know you're a 2nd time mama too. It being the first time, and it taking us SO long to get pregnant, I worry more than normal.
@evenstar982: I'm sorry you're going through it, but would think to, that at least it's a good sign all is growing well in there. That's kind of why I look forward to it, but at the same time know when it comes I'll wish I hadn't.

@mrsmoreau: I had a perfect pregnancy and delivery last time too but I guess I'm just assuming this one will be the same? Lol.

@MrsClownfish: @marionberry: @Izzy: Maybe between the 3 of you guys, we'll have a set of twins in the group! How fun!!
I have been feeling weirdly like AF is about to arrive today. Slightly crampy, and damp (TMI!)...it seems to just be CM, but it's stressing me out!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mango.sprays: My strong cramps scare me about AF too but so far it's just CM. Try not to worry. I've read it's very normal.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: @mango.sprays: I feel the exact same way -my cramps feel JUST like AF (except they've been going on for a week!) and every time I go to the bathroom I expect to see red. I literally hold my breath every time I wipe.
apricot / 446 posts
@char54: Yes! I literally have to prepare myself mentally every time I go to the bathroom because I'm expecting to see blood.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@char54: @mango.sprays: Odds are that we're not all mc'ing at the same time, so must be totally normal. Try not to stress.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@marionberry: @mango.sprays: so glad that we are all experiencing the same thing..,I can't imagine going through these early days alone !
nectarine / 2522 posts
@mango.sprays: @marionberry: @char54: the cramping totally sucks although mine are nowhere near as bad as my AF ones thank goodness as I usually have to dose up on painkiller to survive those. On another note my boobs were sooo sore this morning.. I'm dreading them getting bigger ( they are already bigger than what I would like..lol!) I think I'm going to get a wireless bra because it's killing to sleep bra-less.
I'm really starting to get nervous for my first appt. I'm so scared they will tell me something I don't want to hear.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: I think it's a good sign that your boobs are getting more sore. Seems like any extra symptom is a good sign these days. I've heard a wireless bra is good to have, esp later on in the pregnancy.
@mrs squirreld: @mango.sprays: @char54: I worry about that too but I've decided not to think about it anymore as there's nothing we could do about it. Our baby is either growing great or it isn't. But I pray all of our babies are safely growing in our tummies!
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@Mrs squirreld: I'm worried about my breasts getting bigger too. I had a breast reduction about 5 years ago - would hate for all that recovery and surgery pain to be for nothing!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: I think I might just invest in one now and then get others later on down the track in case they grow! lol
@char54: oh really? Was it totally worth it? I would love to get one but DH always wanted me to wait til after kids... I have so many back problems because of my breasts
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: I have heard to wait for a breast reduction until after you have kids. Often it can cause you to need another surgery at the end and no point in paying for two if you don't have to.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@Mrs squirreld: oh it was soooo worth it! My neck/back problems have all but disappeared and as a long distance runner I am able to train so much better.
Of course now it is sort of bittersweet as i cant predict how it will affect breast feeding. my plastic surgeon said i shouldnt have any issues but its hard to know for sure until i try.
I had it done when I was 22 - my biggest concern back then wasnt breast feeding - it was getting the pain to stop! Now that I'm pregnant I'm going in with the mantra that I will try my best and if it doesn't work for us, that's okay. I was formula fed and turned out alright. No regrets
nectarine / 2522 posts
@char54: I totally would have done it earlier had I had the money. But now that I have the money.. well DH had his 2 cents worth! I can totally understand where he is coming from though. I too used to love to run, but now its impossible without hurting myself. Can I ask how many cup sizes you went...totally understand if you don't want to share!
I'm sure you will be fine with BF and like you said if it doesn't work thats totally ok and there is no point in having a life of agony just to BF.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@Mrs squirreld: yes I totally hear you - for me it was totally worth it to have in my early 20s - had I been in my child-bearing years like you I would have waited until after all my babies were born. Luckily my province paid for it so it didnt cost me anything out of pocket. Doesn't Australia have universal healthcare? Have you checked into if they will cover it for you?
I was about an E/F and went down to a C (wanted to go smaller but DH begged me not to!!) They didn't end up taking as much as predicted out which encourages me to think we may be able to BF - he also did a lift and OMG. Night and day! They look smaller just because they aren't dropping to my belly button. Lol
nectarine / 2522 posts
@char54: I think it's still classed as a cosmetic surgery here ( BS I know!) so it's not covered... I know alot of people have gone overseas for it. I don't want to research it until I am ready to go ahead. I'm so jealous... I'm an E/F and goodness knows what size they will be after kids! I always thought a C would be good too!

Ugh... I think my nausea has started kicking in. I could easily vom if I really wanted to right now. Blah. Anyone else in the same boat??

@NBLChicago: Boo! So sorry you've started feeling yucky...! I'm still feeling normal, and trying hard to enjoy it while it lasts.
persimmon / 1436 posts
@nblchicago: oh no, it's starting! I have only felt little twinges of "weirdness" but not full on nausea. Poor thing, I will be thinking of you!
grape / 77 posts
@MamaMagpie: @mango.sprays: Thanks ladies. I appreciate it. The nausea seems to come in waves. I ate something and felt better though I feel it starting to come back. My friend who is pregnant with #2 (and had the worst MS possible during both pregnancies) suggested I try to keep something in my stomach at all times. The other thing I noticed is that nothing seems appetizing/enticing anymore. Do you feel the same?
coffee bean / 39 posts
@NBLChicago: absolutely. Mine comes in waves too. Yesterday it was so terrible my husband drove me to work because I didnt think I would make it on the El. I feel better today though so hopefully yours will give you a break too!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@NBLChicago: @bisou7585: I'm sorry you ladies aren't feeling well. I'm still doing ok so far...but I wouldn't mind a little m/s to know baby is ok in there. Just realized you're a week ahead of me, so makes sense why I haven't encountered m/s yet.
grape / 77 posts
@Bisou7585: I really hope so. Nausea + El = not fun, I'm sure! That's nice you scored a ride from your DH though. I walk about a mile to work so the fresh air (albeit very cold air on days like today) helps *a bit*.
grape / 77 posts
@marionberry: I'm sure you'll start feeling some in the next week or so!
cherry / 199 posts
Ugh I have really sensitive skin and when i throw up I pop all the blood vessels in my face. It is a hot mess. So I will be thankful if I just feel nausea but don't actually have to throw up.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@NBLChicago: It sounds bad, but I hope so! Although it's right when I'll be flying to Memphis for 6 days so that could be rough...planes, puking, new southern food, uh oh.
grape / 77 posts
@marionberry: Oy! Yeah - that doesn't sound good *at all*! Hopefully you don't get full-blown MS then - maybe just a hint of nausea. I have to head to NYC for work next week for our firm's annual kickoff. Fingers crossed I'm ok on the plane. Everyone is looking forward to catching up over drinks though... dodging that is going to be a challenge!

going out for lunch tomorrow with some of my girlfriends from work - going to be difficult keeping my mouth shut!!!
but I *really* want to wait until my appointment to tell anyone. ugh it is hard to do! but i only have to wait 6 more days!
apricot / 446 posts
@mrsmoreau: 6 more days!! You're almost there!
Did anyone else notice a lot of - what I assume is - creamy CM, early on? Like, more than I've ever had before.
