@MrsClownfish: @marionberry: @mrssquirreld: sorry for the delay -- we got tons of stuff done around the new apartment and nursery yesterday, so that was awesome I have my regular 36 weeks appointment on Thursday, but I did call the on-call OB and asked about the discharge and he said not to worry unless it didn't stop by the next day (which it did), if I started having contractions again, or if baby's movement lessened. So I'm chalking this one up to having had my first cervical check on Thursday night at the hospital. I'm definitely a little nervous this boy is going to make an early entrance and can't wait for my appointment with the midwife on Thursday!

@mrssquirreld: I love that tree! I'm so excited to see pics of the room once you have it completed!

I can't believe in 2 weeks it will be September and we will all start having our babies. I also can't believe that none of us have gone into labor yet!

I have finally gone full out crazy pregnant lady. I locked myself in the bathroom and SOBBED for a ridiculously long time on Saturday because DH got mad at the dog for doing something he knows not to do. It was ridiculous. I've also noticed that I have lost my energy finally. I always take 1 day a week and clean the entire house. Yesterday I didn't even make it halfway through the house before I gave up. I over slept this morning by 30 minutes so no shower for me. Ugh. I have my GSB test on Thursday which I am not looking forward to but I will be ready to get it out of the way so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm checking my belly button daily. It still hasn't popped out but I don't think it will make it 5 more weeks! I've known many people to go into labor at 35 weeks so I am frantically trying to get everything finished up just to be safe. Once I get the rest of the baby laundry done, I will be ready for him to arrive. I tell him every day that there is no reason he needs to wait 5 more weeks.

@Meltini: I hear you on losing energy finally...I have been doing really well at keeping up my daily walks, but yesterday I had to turn back as my stomach was cramping way earlier than usual. I feel like my belly is getting so big and every step is pulling on every part of my body!

@mrssquirreld: Love that tree!! Can't wait to see your final nursery!

@MamaMagpie: Glad the discharge stopped....isn't it crazy that we are at our 36 week apts already??!!! I remember being early second trimester and thinking it would never come.

We close on the house TOMORROW and I can't can't can't wait. The painter is coming that same day so hopefully by the weekend he will be finished and we can move in. DH has been such a superstar, packing, throwing out junk, moving/lugging stuff. I feel so helpless but I am trying to pack things in boxes as best I can. We (okay, DH) painted my grandmother's dresser yesterday that we will use as a changing table. It turned out so cute! I'll post pictures once we get the final coat on and it's finished.

Has anyone else been feeling generally ugh? I have NO appetite (this is so unlike me) and have been very nauseous, thinking I'm going to throw up at any minute - which is strange because I didn't even have a touch of MS in the first trimester. The heartburn is also back with a vengeance which may be contributing to lack of appetite. I have an appointment Wednesday and am looking forward to it just to make sure this is all normal!

@char54 I have been feeling generally ok. I am actually hungry but then I can't eat much. And heartburn/acid reflux is definitely here!

I am starting to freak out a little but because I STILL have not had my baby shower and my husband wont' let me buy anything that is on my registry until after the shower (which is a surprise so I don't know when it is). So basically I have no crib mattress, car seat, etc. I told him flat out that if it is in September was very poor planning and it will be his job to gather all the stuff I need if I go into labor beforehand.

I have an appt tom and then a sonogram next Tuesday and then another appt next friday and every friday after that!

@meltini I think I am going to make it with my belly button staying in

I get so behind on this board on the weekends! I'm reading and thinking of you all!

@mrssquirreld: I'm back to feeling hungover over in the AM, it sucks. I'm sorry your retching! I love your decal that is so cute! Also what a steal on eBay!

The latest with me, on friday the baby measured at 38% so thats good but my BP was high and so I had a follow-up today after bloodwork and a 24 hr urine catch. Turns out I have pre-e, so I will not be making it to my due date, how far I make it depends on the urine. She put me on partial bedrest and I'm trying to figure out what that means for work.
I was supposed to make a 6 hour trip to see family this weekend and the dr vetoed it so that sucks. My grampa doesn't drive so I wanted to see him once more before the baby came I go back in Thursday for an appt, results from the urine, a NST, and a check on my fluid levels.

@MrsClownfish: I'd kill someone if my baby shower was in Sept.

@char54: I hear you on the no energy.

@MrsClownfish: My baby shower is in September, although it was planned that way. My mom is hosting and she had major surgery this summer so we had to wait until September for her to be at a good stage in recovery.

@jetsa: Bummer!! Hope the pre-e doesn't get worse.

@char54: Excited for you about the house!!

@Meltini: I have been getting so fatigued again as well. Luckily it isn't as bad as the first trimester, that was brutal.

  8. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: You're not the only one! Last night I had my second bout of blurry vision but this time it was really bad...had really blurry vision for nearly an hour with a horrible headache. Today at my early appt (since my dr is going on vacation) BP was 130/90 so my OB says it may be pre-e. I'm regularly 100/70. I'm supposed to take it easy and go back in on Thursday. If it's still high I'll be on bedrest. Even worse, baby marionberry is frank breech, verified by ultrasound today. We have an ECV scheduled for September 3rd when my OB is back but if my BP gets too high before then, it'll then be an automatic c-sction with a brand new provider. So frustrating! I just want him to cook awhile longer. DH is stressing out. Is your DH stressing out?

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: Oh no! You have more symptoms then I do and baby is breach! We aren't stressing out but we've had warning signs, its not like just finding out today there may be an issue. I've had slightly high blood pressure all pregnancy and its been on the rise for the last 4 weeks. Do you have protein in your urine? Thats the final lab work I'm waiting on, I will get results on Thursday but my MW is guessing it will be there. She said if its really bad 4000+ then they'll want to induce me immediately, although she does not expect that because I haven't had headaches or floaters. She said at 37 weeks it just needs to be 300+ and they'll want to induce me. The babe is head down though so it'll be an induction. Also I have a followup on Thursday, where I'll get the results of my urine test and we'll do a BP test, a NST, and a fluids check.

  12. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@marionberry: Oh no. Just saw your other post too. Hope you aren't too uncomfortable. I can imagine how stressful this is.

  13. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: No protein in my urine so far. I should know about today's test by Thursday's appointment though. I hope your values are non-existent or low enough to keep your little one cooking. And we thought it would be mamamagpie!!

  14. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@MapleMoose: Thanks! I'm surprisingly calm but I think it's because I'm pretending this will all just go away.

  15. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

    @evansjamie: thank you!

@marionberry: Also I meant to tell you my MW is not concerned at all for the baby, she thinks s/he will be ready whenever we induce. We went from 81st percentile to 38th percentile so its not like babe is huge anymore either.

  16. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: I'm so jealous that you have an idea about size. My OB did a 2-second ultrasound to check position but did nothing to determine size.

  17. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: well I don't think they're very accurate, I mean that's a huge change in 4 weeks! I hope you get good results Thursday too!

  18. MamaMagpie

    persimmon / 1436 posts

@marionberry: @jetsa: oh no! I'm sorry you ladies have to add that stress into the mix It sounds like you are both handling it really well and of course your LOs are going to be just perfect, though.

@Meltini: awww, the "crazy pregnant lady" has definitely overtaken me, too! The other day I threw myself on the bed absolutely sobbing because the new garbage can I bought didn't fit under the sink And, also, I think my belly button may pop out soon, too!

@char54: it is totally crazy! So so exciting about closing on your house I'm sorry you're feeling yucky -- I've had bouts of nausea but (knock on wood) not too much heartburn. I love that you are using your grandmother's dresser as a changing table! We found an old/vintage dresser and refinished it but love that yours has some sentimental value!

@MrsClownfish: omg that would stress me out SO bad! I hope it's thus weekend!

  19. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: are you going to bring your hospital bag to your appt on Thursday? I haven't packed it yet but we are 45ish mins from the hospital and my appt is in that town so I'm wondering if I should just in case. I think the likelihood is low but I'd hate to not have it if I need it.

  20. Charm54

    cantaloupe / 6885 posts

@MrsClownfish: I'd be stressed too if I didn't know when my shower was! My bff had hers a few weeks ago (she was 38 weeks) and went in to labor 2 days later...it's like the baby knew everything was finally ready!

@jetsa: I'm sorry you aren't able to go see your grandpa Take advantage of the bed rest and enjoy some R&R! Hopefully you can make the trip up with the baby not too far in the future!

@marionberry: I saw your other post - thinking of you! What a surprise that must have been. Hope you are feeling better and everything goes back to normal soon. FX for Thursday!!

I'm sitting by the phone willing the lawyer to ring and tell us the house has closed...I feel like I'm back at middle school just staring at my phone, making sure the volume is turned up, battery is charged, lol.

  21. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@MamaMagpie: @char54: I've already moved on to stressing more about hip dysphasia in babies born frank breech lol. I guess it helps to put your mind on another issue.

@jetsa: We are putting everything in the car Wednesday night for the same reasons. We live 45 mins away and it's just easier if everything is ready to go. I need to get DH to put the carseat in tonight. My bag is packed other than makeup and similar last minute items. Luckily I'm a planner! Only downside is Thursday is dsd's bday so I hope nothing happens that day.

  22. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: ok, I was thinking I should do the same but it's nice to know I'm not the only one. DH installed the carseat base last weekend so that is complete.. I was actually purposely not packing the bag because my mom told me it was a good early labor task to take your mind off the contractions but at this point well hopefully they decide to hold off for you so it's on your step-daughters bday!

  23. MrsClownfish

    cherry / 199 posts

@marionberry @jetsa I hope that your BP gets better and your babies try to stay in a little longer (even though I am sure you are excited to meet them)

I have not even started to pack my hospital bags yet! I need to at least wash the baby's coming home outfit options I guess so I can grab them.

@char54 I don't know how you are dealing with being 36 weeks and moving! I could barely deal with moving while wedding planning. It will be so fun to set up the nursery though

AFM I had my 35 week appt today. All is well, BP is perfect. I gained 4 pounds in the last two weeks....whoops! But I didn't gain at all the month before that so I am giving myself a break.
Baby is head down and Dr says there is only a 3-5% chance that it could flip all the way around at this point. Sonogram next tuesday for size and position and then appts every friday until baby comes.

My husband is happy that there are no signs of any issues since he won't be back from Russia until Friday.

  24. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@MrsClownfish: So happy to hear such good news for you!
@jetsa: That makes so much sense. I'm just such a planner, I've had mine half packed forever. Had another headache/blurry vision event today so I currently have a call in to my doctor. My BP was ok during it though, so I'm starting to wonder if this is more anemia related instead?
@char54: How exciting, closing on your new home! Please make sure DH moves everything! At this far along, you're likely to go into labor just picking up a box!

So are you guys still feeling a decreased sense of movement? I feel like I'm overly paranoid now. When he moves, oh does he move, but he goes much longer stretches not moving, and it freaks me out. Sometimes I shake my belly just trying to wake him up. Am I alone in this?

  25. MrsClownfish

    cherry / 199 posts

@marionberry you are definitely not alone on the movement issue. baby will not move for a while and them go crazy. sometimes hours pass at my desk and i have to stop and poke the baby because I am not sure if it has moved in a little while.

  26. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: if your BP was fine during it, I don't see how it could be related. The way my MW explained it to me is that the headaches would be caused by the BP being so high. Also on kovent you aren't alone, mine hangs out from about 9-12/1 everyday. It's moving again now but that's pretty typical.

  27. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@MrsClownfish: This is me to a tee! I get so focused on what I'm doing at work that I freak out because I haven't been paying attention to even see if he moved.

@jetsa: That was my thought too. It was 113/73 at the beginning of the blurry vision and 120/75 right after, which are a little high for me, but nowhere near my 130/90 of my appointment yesterday. So confusing. I hate waiting for my doctor to call me back too...

  28. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: oh wow yea that's not high. The 90 is what worried them yesterday I'd say

  29. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: Me too! Glad you agree. Still no word. I think I'm going to head home and relax and if my doctor calls me back I'll make the stupid drive back in.

  30. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: yea that's probably a good plan, that way if it is BP it will have a chance to go down. My husband thinks I'm crazy to bring my hospital bag Thursday so there's that, I said ok you get to come home abd pack it if need be.

  31. MrsStormy

    clementine / 818 posts

@jetsa: @marionberry: I'm sorry about your pre-e stuff ladies. that's rough, I hope it all turns out okay for both of you, babies can keep cooking a little longer. Also even though circumstances aren't ideal, I'm so excited for the first September babies to start coming!

@Meltini: I am totally a crazy pregnant lady, my poor husband, I did not have any mood issues or hormone issues until recently, but the poor guy has had to deal with some crazy mood swings lately! Seriously, I have tears almost everyday over something that pisses me off, stress, fear or whatever.

@char54: Yay for your house closing soon! You are going to have a crazy few weeks, but it will keep you busy and make time fly by I'm sure!

Agree with you ladies, baby is not moving nearly as much as it used to, when he does its BIG movements and quite a few though. Also the Dr. told me that its the combination of space, but also being used to it, so we don't notice it as much (DH sometimes puts his hand on my belly and notices movement that I don't notice, because I'm just not paying much attention).

I'm also starting to get a little panicky about getting everything done that needs to be done at work before leave. I know I have plenty of time, but I am a stresser and I am getting for sure getting stressed, I know it will be okay so I just keep reminding myself of that....

  32. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: HAHA. Your DH is my DH's opposite. The doctor says nothing to worry about, so just resting at home.

@mrsstormy: I'm excited for September babies too. I just wish I was currently on the road to a normal delivery. Try not to stress too much about work. You may not get it all done but it will be ok and when your baby comes it will be the last thing on your mind. At least that's what I'm telling myself about my own work.

  33. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@marionberry: glad to hear your doc isn't worried about the BP/blurry vision.
you are stressing a lot, that may affect things too. try to relax - maybe a massage would help?

AFM, 37 week appointment tonight - I am officially "full term" - 3 cm & 90% effaced. measuring a full week ahead now, so she's growing A LOT. Doc says could be any day now, and he will induce me at 39 weeks if I want. I have to discuss with DH about that... although it would be way more convenient for work and getting DS taken care of, it was never in my plan to be induced.
my doc is CONVINCED I won't make it to sept. 9th anyway, so I think I'll let nature take its course....

got my new carseat tonight as well and a new mattress for the crib - her room is ready, I finished the laundry and I'm all packed for the hospital! now I just have to wait...

  34. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: lol, yea he is going to be in for quite a shock if I go before 37 weeks I think. We didn't realize until tonight that he'll be underground Thursday and won't be able to make it to the appt so I told him he has to get me an emergency # just in case.

@mrsmoreau: yay for full term! Why would you induce early other than just being ready?

  35. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@mrsmoreau: I would kill for a massage! May have to pay for one of those soon! So exciting about you already being so far along and possibly getting induced! Can't wait to hear your labor story and meet your little girl.

@jetsa: Ya that's scary that he won't be around. Get an emergency number for sure just in case!

  36. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: yea it'll only be my 2nd visit without him and the other was routine. This one I'll have a fluids check and NST as well as meet with my MW.

Holy Moly what happened on this page in the last two days! It went crazy! Trying to catch up now!!!

@char54: Has the house closed now? Has the painter been? When will you be in? Make sure you take it easy!!! I threw out my back just unpacking boxes..so make sure you are doing very little and resting frequently!
@Meltini: I hear you too... I am exhausted ALOT more...standing or sitting for long periods now sucks!
@jetsa: @marionberry: I'm glad eveything is going ok for you both and there is no need for the babies to come right away.. Rest up!! WE SHOULD ALL BE RESTING... hahah easier said than done I know!
@mrsmoreau: WOOOO hooo.. Congrats on Full Term! I can't wait to get there! I still think you'll be there first of the September mummas!
@MrsStormy: I too am stressing about a few things left to do.. but then at the end of the day all the baby needs is food, warmth & love... we'll be right
I agree with everyone on the movement aswell, some days he'
ll be so quiet it freaks me out and then I'll have days where he is going crazy in there...lol DH talking to him always gets him to move though and that's really comforting. With my sisters loss, movement is my biggest stress factor so I am always more relaxed when he's kicking about.
We had our second hospital class yesterday and our hospital tour... I know I have said it before but its even more confirmed now we have seen the birthing rooms and the after birth care rooms. This place is like a flipping 5 star hotel and its a public hospital which in Australia means its free, even without health insurance!!! I LOVE and am so grateful for our health system and we are very lucky to live somewhere that has a nice new hospital. I am so excited to have DH to be able to stay the whole time we are in there... that we will have our own room and ensuite... and that if all goes well I'm even allowed to have a water birth
Questions: Is anyone who is cloth diapering planning on doing it from day 1 in the hospital? And is anyone else planning on doing placenta encapsulation?

  40. mrsmoreau

    apricot / 251 posts

@marionberry: she's sharing with her older sisters... so it's not so much "nursery" as it is girls room... but here are some pics.

    ETA: sorry for the mess!
