Ugh. Seems like yesterday was a rough day for the September mamas. I had my Group B Strep test yesterday and it made me feel pretty crampy afterwards. Thankfully I woke up this morning feeling much more normal. I hope everyone has a better day today with less doctor scares!

I can't believe there is a September POAS thread!!!!! I keep clicking on it thinking it's this thread! How has time gone so fast... we are all going to be Mummas really really soon!!!

@mrssquirreld: @marionberry: @jetsa: thank goodness the doctor who said that isn't my OB, just the doctor at the ultrasound place...I'm going to call my OB as soon as his office opens and talk either him or the midwife in his practice. Ugh. And thank you for your support I guess it would mean we would get to meet bub early, so that *is* exciting.
I keep clicking on the September POAS board, too! It's going to be REALLY crazy when there's a September mamas board next year!

Just got caught up. Sending good thoughts to you ladies. Hang in there, we made it through the questionable period so even if any of our babies come early they will be healthy.
Off to my 34 week appointment. Going to ask the doctor about the decreased movement the past few days and cramping pains. Probably nothing to worry about but it will ease my mind to discuss it with the OB.

@Meltini: yes let's pray for a better day for everyone today!
@jetsa: hoping for only good news and results for you today!
@mrssquirreld: I didn't get my own gown because people talk about how much you ruin them but I did love getting lots of fun nursing pjs and gowns for once he is born. We ladies should still get to feel nice even if we're going through hell!
@mamamagpie: so glad that wasn't your doctor! I hope that when you call yours today they'll give you better peace of mind.
@maplemoose: Good luck at your appt today! My ds went two days moving less and since has been moving like crazy, so there's a good chance it's nothing!

@MamaMagpie: @marionberry: Thanks girls. They sent me over to the hospital for a NST. I actually wasn't too worried, I think because she was doing a few movements after the doctor put the doppler on her (she always kicks it) at my appointment. But poor DH was nervous. He came home from work to come to the hospital with me, which I really appreciate. Turns out baby has just been lazy these past few days and everything is fine.

It's not pre-e nor pih. They are treating it as chronic high blood pressure, it was always borderline before and so for me the scary readings are just a few points higher than normal. We find out our plan Monday. What a week!
I have the best MW ever, she called the hospital and me afterhours to let me know what was up :). I feel like some kind of thank you gift is appropriate afterwards, but idk what. Any suggestions?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: that's good news! Not sure about a gift. Could you make her homemade cookies or get her some sort of cool book she might want in her practice?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: the cookies are a great idea! They have so many different offices, idk why she'd put something to display.
Guys, bed rest sucks. While I know it's for the best I'm going crazy. I am not the type of person to just hang out and my DH is working so hard on finishing our house I just want to help him
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: what about reading a book or two on kindle or something similar? I have a ton of parenting books I haven't finished and some I haven't started that I would totally read if I get full time bed rested. Any good shows you need to catch up on?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: I've tried reading but I just get bored after an hour or so. I'm trying to reread so maybe I just need to buy a new book or something.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: Ya maybe a new book would help. Are there any crafts or things you could do while in bed? Any fun online games? Could your DH pick you up some magazines?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: at this point I'm just hoping to go back to work at least part-time Monday. I've got work at home and it doesn't even keep me interested. Thanks for the suggestions, if she doesn't let me off Monday, I'll try some of them for sure!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: Hey just happy to help! I've been trying to work from home when I can but Monday and Tuesday I'll be back in the office most of the day. We'll see how I do. Hopefully your doctor lets you go back at least partially!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@jetsa: Bed rest would be boring! Poor thing! Is there any friends you can invite over for a chat, get her to paint your nails or mini pamper you just to break the time up?
I'm pretty sure bub dropped this morning... My bump looks soooo much lower. Ill have to take a pic once I do my hair! Haha I did wake up to Braxton hicks this morning too, not sure if they are connected in anyway?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: That's so exciting! Definitely post a pic! I woke up to the worst BH ever Thursday night that lasted about 20 mins - like the worst period cramp ever. I honestly thought that if pregnant contractions were that bad I was definitely rethinking the whole epidural thing. Did yours hurt or was it just like a typical BH?
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: they hurt enough to wake me up, but they were just like period cramping so nothing too major... They did last a while though so my mind was racing thinking...is this it? I'd say I was more just uncomfortable... Especially since I was laying down but I was just so tired!!
nectarine / 2522 posts
Heres 35 & 36 weeks It looks more obvious IRL... I feel like I have more space between my boobs and bump... I dunno maybe I'm imagining it... It's definitely gotten bigger!! Hahah
persimmon / 1436 posts
@MapleMoose: what a relief! Glad LO is just resting up before the big day
@jetsa: so glad it's not pre-e or PIH! Bummed for you about still having to be on bed rest Any shows or movies you've been wanting to watch? Now would be a perfect excuse to watch episode after episode and get "caught up"! Although, I do hope you are allowed to go back to work Monday if that's what you want
@Mrs squirreld: I can definitely tell you've dropped! Exciting! You look great, by the way
@marionberry: yah, BH have been no joke for me lately too...I've had a few times when I was like "is this it?!" Like right now, actually
AFM, we took our 8-hour childbirth class today and was great! Lots and lots of info crammed into one day, but DH and I both feel more prepared and therefor less freaked out by all the unknown.
I've been experiencing pretty strong BH contractions for the past few hours...they're not super painful, but mostly feel like bad menstrual cramps punctuated by definite and timetable, although not more uncomfortable, contractions. I am starting to wonder if we will have an August baby! Yikes!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@MamaMagpie: Naw thanks! Glad someone else can see it Are your Braxton Hicks regular?? How long have the been going for? Mine lasted about 40 minutes but were all over the place. It's so exciting not know when the babies are going to arrive... I said to DH this morning "Isn't it weird to think we might have a baby in a week? or in four weeks?" I wish our classes were in one big chunk. We have two more left, but I always feel great after them, it really helps take away the fear of the unknown.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@MamaMagpie: @mrssquirreld: I'm up with intense cramping again. Mine never seem to be short and with space in between like they say, but more like one long chunk. It does really lead me to believe we're going to have some late August babies!
@mrssquirreld: Your bump definitely looks lower to me! I should've been taking more pics so that I could notice if mine has changed any.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: yeah mine last like 5-10 minutes at a time.. fade away and then come back, but there is no real pattern to them. You should be able to notice easily without photos.. I just got up and was like woah.. your low! lol.
Is bub still breach though?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: Yep he's still breech so I'd rather he stay high so that we can turn him. I'm so mad my dr is on vacation so we have to wait over a week still to try. I think it's going to be hard to be successful that late. I'm so jealous yours turned!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: naw there is still time. Have you looked at the spinning babies website? Has lots of great tips for positions and stuff for moving breach babies...http://spinningbabies.com/baby-positions/breech-bottoms-up/flip-a-breech
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: I think I may try today! Someone told me to try and do a headstand but my belly is just way too big for that! I'm way too top heavy. It's not warm enough right now to swim either.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: who the hell could do a headstand at 36 weeks??!!!!!! lol I think laying on your back but with your legs up a wall is a good one.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@MamaMagpie: @Mrs squirreld: @marionberry: I've been having the BH cramping as well. Last night they were timeable though and lasted through a bath so I thought they might be it but nope, I slept through the night.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Mrs squirreld: @marionberry: there's no way I could do a headstand right now!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: ya I could certainly do that!
@jetsa: timetable is great. You're likely getting so close!
persimmon / 1436 posts
@marionberry: omg a headstand?! That would be a feat! I think @mrsquirreld: has the right idea How is the cramping right now?
@jetsa: goodness, this is all so very exciting! And totally scary in an awesome way!
clementine / 818 posts
Ahhh this thread is getting so exciting!!!!
@Mrs squirreld: I can totally see that you dropped!
@jetsa: so glad it's not pre e, but bummer about bed rest, I would really struggle with that too!
So, I agree with all you ladies, I have had an increase of BH, but I don't think they are quite as bad as yours. I have been sitting/bouncing/rocking on the birth ball and that definitely gets them going to, so I try to limit that right now. Otherwise, I can not believe we are all getting so close!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@MamaMagpie: No cramps now...they seem to only happen in the middle of the night, one time. I'll just awaken to it and it will last 10-20 minutes and then it will go away. So weird!
@mrsstormy: The bouncing ball sounds fun. I had thought about getting one but never did. I heard they're really great to use during labor, so I plan to! Just don't use it too much now unless you're ready for baby.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: @MrsStormy: Hehe I have a yoga ball... once I hit 37 weeks I'll be bouncing all night long! hehehehe

@jetsa: I've been dealing with chronic hypertension for majority of the pregnancy. After I was in the hospital for a day in the beginning of July, they put me on BP meds & I've been fine since. They didn't do any bed rest, but they did say to not overdo anything.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: That's just days away!!! OMG it's so crazy to think we will be having babies any day now.
@pmerr: I'm sorry you've been dealing with this stinky high BP too but glad they have it under control with meds!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@pmerr: I follow your blog I believe, You have weekly NST's don't you? I think the bed rest was mostly because we didn't know if it was pre-e or chronic. I think they are semi-confused because I exhibit sign of pre-e but without the protein it can't be that. I guess we'll find out more at my appt tomorrow.
