@Mrs. Jump Rope: That must be so comforting to hear!

@gingerbebe: Keep eating! My nausea is so much better when I have food in my stomach. Which I know is the opposite of what you want to do.

@farawayviolet: Thanks. Sometimes I would rather go back to teaching at my last school with 28 kindergartners by myself.

@Pancakes: Red or brown? Does you doctor have an after hours line you can call for things like that.

@Pancakes: how much is a lot?

@Pancakes: The rule of thumb my doctor always told me was if its more than a pad in an hour, then go to the ER. It could also be a subchorionic hematoma, which requires monitoring.

Does your insurance have an advice nurse line you can call?

It looked like I was starting my period. There was some clot-like blood. I haven't had any bleeding since then and my doctor's office isn't open today (and the OB clinic doesn't appear to have an answering service??). I'll probably just wait until tomorrow to call unless it gets worse.

@Pancakes: @gingerbebe: same advice given here. I had spotting again yesterday & was told the following: any bleeding should be reported so it can be put on my chart. If it looks and feels like a period, run to the ER. If I fill a pad in an hour, run to the ER.

@Pancakes: I'd go to the er and get that checked out. Hoping for the best!

@Pancakes: I agree with the others. If it's a good bit, it may be worth going to the ER. Do you have cramping also?

  8. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

Gah. Since before I even got a BFP I've had slight cramping/pulling on my left side. For the past couple days it's been basically non-existant. Now my only symptom is sore breasts/nipples. I wish I had more symptoms! It doesn't even feel like I'm pregnant. I've never made it this far before (5w5d) but does this sound normal? I find myself wishing for MS just so it'll seem real.

  9. Mrs. Jump Rope

    blogger / coconut / 8306 posts

@Littlebit: yup! It's completely normal for symptoms to come and go.

  10. Weagle

    coconut / 8498 posts

@Littlebit: Yep. Normal. I told DH that this is the worst part of pregnancy. Too early to show, too early for MS, too early to hear a heartbeat, too early to feel movement... Basically it's just too early for any reassurance that things are okay in there!

  11. mrs. 64

    nectarine / 2936 posts

@Pancakes: If I couldn't get an on call doctor I might go for the ER. Hoping everything is ok!

  12. mrs. 64

    nectarine / 2936 posts

@Littlebit: I had the sore boobs, then nothing for a few days, then nausea started about 5w 4 or 5 days. It is very nervewracking, but I think it's normal. My nausea has been manageable with constant eating. Sometimes I think it is getting better and start to worry, but then if I'm 15 min late for a meal I realize it is definitely still there in full force!

    nectarine / 2932 posts

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @Weagle: @mrs. 64: thanks ladies! Y'all are making me feel much better! I'm at home with my sick dog today and I think it's giving me too much time to think!

  14. Mrs. Jump Rope

    blogger / coconut / 8306 posts

@Littlebit: good! It's definitely nerve wracking & time + dr. google definitely worsens your fears.

  15. Kate6214

    cherry / 245 posts

@Pancakes: I'm glad the bleeding stopped. I know I would have a hard time waiting until tomorrow. You have to do what you feel is right.

@Littlebit: My symptoms started as on and off and progressed to more everyday. It's completely normal.

@Littlebit: I'm with you on wishing for at least a little ms! I'm 7w2d, and my sore breasts are pretty much my only consistent symptom. I did get dizzy a couple of times yesterday, and I've been tired, and occasional really light nausea, but none of that lingers.

I'm at the ER now...looks like it's going to be a long wait!

@Pancakes: wishing u tons of good baby vibes and baby hanging on!

@Littlebit: with my twins, it wasnt until 6 weeks that I felt ms. Right now, I just feel extremely tired and nauseous, but no throwing up. Luckily, every pregnancy is different, so it's completely normal not having extreme ms! But I hear ya, I'm sorta worried it isn't horrible right now.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts! Just got back from the ER; the good news is my cervix is closed, and I got to see baby on the u/s and baby has a heartbeat (150)!!! The bad news is that I do have a subchorionic hematoma, so that does put me at elevated risk of miscarriage, but it's a great sign the baby's heart is beating. The u/s tech gave me an EDD of 9/14. I'm really glad I went in, and I'm so thankful for your support!

Hi all! I'm happy to finally join you I got my BFP a week ago, but I wanted to wait until the Beta at my RE office.

    Estimated Due Date (EDD):
September 26th based on my FET date.

    When Did You Find Out?:
January 12th I got my first faint bfp. I was 4dp5dt, the equivalent of 9dpo. And today I got my first beta draw...908!

    Child Number:
One! But I've had 2 miscarriages.

    Where You Live:
    New York

What kind of provider will you see?:
I think I see my RE for the first tri and then I will see an OB. I'm torn on keeping the same one from last failed pregnancy or going to another that my friend adores.

    When's Your First Appointment?:
Not set yet. I have a 2nd beta on Weds the 22nd and they will set an ultrasound date then.

What kind of birth do you want?:
I'm still not sure. Def in a hospital, possibly with a doula. Would love to ideally go med free but I am not afraid to get an epidural if it will make me calmer.

    What You're Most Excited For:
Seeing my husband as a dad. Hearing a heartbeat. Feeling movement.

    What You're Most Scared About:
This was a long shot for us, so if something goes wrong when this is finally supposed to be "it" I'll be devastated. I have a chromosomal abnormality, hence the PGD. So if this baby is still sick or severely disabled I'll be heartbroken for him or her. I'll feel like it was my fault.

    Symptoms so far:
Not much. Light cramping and maybe a wave of nausea or two?

Any fun plans to kick off the new year?:
My husband and I are trying to go on a vacation ASAP. My BFF is also getting married this spring so we're trying to plan a fun beachy bachelorette!

Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart:
Here is my first super faint one, and the next morning. And a digital to round it all out

@Littlebit: I'm the same way symptom wise! I'm 5w1d and do not feel pregnant at ALL. Other than being a little tired I have no symptoms. I bought tests on Amazon (ps. they are WAY cheaper than drugstore) and I'm going to limit myself to testing once per week until my ultrasound on 2/11. Feels too weird to be real.

@Pancakes: SO glad to hear your good news! Hope it stays positive.

Also, I was not at all in the world of TTC or Hellobee before 5 days ago and I'm LOST with the acronyms, so sorry if I'm not keeping up on that end.

Question: my husband just came down with the flu this morning...I called the medical assistant at my OB/Gyn to see whether I should be getting the flu shot (is it too late)?

do you guys have thoughts or suggestions? I do not relish having the flu and then going right into morning sickness.

@Pancakes: I'm glad you got checked out. I went to ER on Friday for same thing, and got call from my doc that I have SCH too. I'll be thinking about you! Hopefully we both heal up soon!

@SweetiePie: welcome! Glad u r finally joining us! I really think u got one strong baby there. Hanging on thru the pgd, and then hanging on tight on your uterus, against all odds.

@Runnerd I just found an old thread where several bees said they experienced this, and they all eventually had positive outcomes. I'm an anxious person in general, but I'm trying to think extra good thoughts. I'll be thinking of you!

@LatteLove: I think it takes 2 weeks for a flu shot to become effective, so while I think its a good idea to get it for the season, I don't know that it will help you against your husband!

@pancakes: SO glad they figured out what's wrong! Now for that bedrest!

@lilbit @torchwood: My symptoms came and went and it freaked me out. But I was flat on my back sick the last 2 days between nausea and exhaustion so, just hang in there. At some point it kicks you in the teeth!

  39. Pancakes

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@Gingerbebe Hmmm, they didn't say anything about bedrest, but I am going to follow up with my OB office tomorrow (praying that they'll at least be open in the morning; we're expected to have a winter storm). I was supposed to have my first appointment on Wednesday but I suspect that will be cancelled if the snow predictions come true.

  40. LatteLove

    apricot / 441 posts

@gingerbebe: oh! good to know. I have never gotten a flu shot before and wouldn't usually except for my condition. I guess it can't hurt...but I'll also be taking vitamins and keeping my distance ,as much as possible (sick husbands are a little like sick kids, no?).
