    @Pancakes: I'm glad you're going to switch doctors because that sounds awful. I'm afraid to buy anything yet. I'm hoping I can get away with a few of my stretchier work pants for a while. The bloat has been awful. Maybe after my u/s next week I'll feel better. I also don't want to get too much now because I know the last thing I'll want to be wearing in August is pants.

    @Pancakes: ugh, I would want to change docs too! That seems like crappy advice from the nurse. Even if it was true, there's something called sensitivity! Good luck at your next appointment though!

    Small update for me - got round 2 betas back yesterday. Monday was 908 at 4w4d/17dpo and Wednesday was 2399 at 4w6d/19dpo. So relieved it more than doubled. Whew!
    First appointment for ultrasound is one week from today - Thursday the 30th. Can't wait!

    @farawayviolet - so glad you got good news and you are feeling a bit better!

    @gingerbebe - awesome news about DH! Please get some rest and take care of yourself. I totally agree about the 8:30 wall. I sleep from 9-4 a.m., wake up starving, eat a few crackers and sleep again until 7. Holy tired.

    @sweetiepie - woohoo for great betas!

    I have "birthday drinks" for a good friend on Friday that I am figuring out how to avoid. I'm so tired and it is at a restaurant that I feel like I have an aversion to already! I have to drive there so I can always do the "I have to drive" but my friends will expect me to have 1 drink. I guess I can get my usual "vodka soda" (hold the vodka.)

    @psw27: I have a bachelorette party in 1.5 weeks and have no idea what I'm going to do then either! (Between avoiding drinks and wanting to be in bed by 10pm...) Hope you're able to keep friends from being too curious! Let me know how you pull it off - I could use ideas.

    @SweetiePie: glad to hear your good news!

    @LatteLove: @Littlebit: @psw27: @Mrs. Jump Rope: Thanks

    @psw27: @LatteLove: One trick I like to use is gingerale in a champagne glass I used it with my last pregnancy (m/c) and it worked like a charm. My close girlfriends had NO CLUE I was drinking gingerale the whole time.
    The key was making sure I got there 10-15 mins before them and I told the bartender/waiter that every time I ordered a 'champagne' to give me gingerale.

    I also just recently tried a nonalcoholic beer. A couple were actually OK and I am a beer drinker so I can get away with it. So I think I'll do the same where I arrive early and tell the bartender/waiter to bring the n/a beer when I order an Amstel Light or something, haha.

    @LatteLove: that's a tough one! Can you be DD?! or need to be home by a certain time for a made up reason?!

  14. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

    oh a bachelorette might be hard @lattelove. Are you supposed to stay over or is it just a night on the town?

    On New Years, my DH caught the waiter on his way to the bathroom and explained I was going to order vodka soda all night but just bring soda water. He was super cool about it, although I do think one friend totally knew something was up. She was too polite to say anything...

    The good news is that one of my friends just emailed the group and said she wouldn't be drinking that night and she's usually the one heckling you for not drinking so hopefully no one bugs me if I don't drink.

    How has everyone been feeling? M/s or all day sickness kick in for anyone yet? I've been so sick all day long, literally from the moment I open my eyes to when I try to close them for the day. I'm super miserable, and my doctor is out of the office so no luck on getting any medication yet.

  16. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

    Aww I'm sorry to hear that @boogs. Have you been able to keep anything down? I am not feeling super either, but this week I am much better at coping with it. I've been consistently eating every few hours/whenever the M/S strikes me. It's super hard to find anything that sounds good though, so lots of toast with PB, saltines, wheat thins, strawberry yogurt and vegetable soup for me. I'm really into crunchy/salty and really cold.

    Oh and ginger ale... yum.

    @Boogs: That sounds awful. Hope you're able to get some relief soon!

    No MS here, but the exhaustion just hit out of nowhere yesterday! I can barely keep my eyes open all of a sudden. And if DH says "you slept 10 hours last night, you shouldn't be tired" one more time, he's getting smacked.

    Welcome @synchro coach! (what kind of synchro? figure skating?)

    Ugh. @torchwood I hear ya on DH. I slept from 9-7 last night and my DH says "why are you so tired?" when I said I could easily keep sleeping this morning. Um, I'm growing a human.

    OMG I am so tired today. Its SO busy at work (its our busiest time of year) and I have a stack of work piled high and I could just fall asleep sitting at my desk right now. I also woke up with fierce MS and felt better after a McMuffin, but now its starting to bug me again. I tried the Unisom/B6 combo last night before I went to bed, but I was sick the minute I was upright this morning. I am too afraid to use another dose for fear I will fall asleep at my desk! *whimper*

    @Synchro Coach: Welcome!!

    @LatteLove: I had my work holiday party last week (super late) and I have some very nosey co-workers. I had gingerale in a wine glass all night and it looked totally legit! The bartender and my co-workers (close friends) that do know were all shocked at how legit it looked.

    I am so thrown off by this whole MS thing. I expected it to be so different! I just have these random times during the day where I feel hungover or like my blood sugar is low. I don't ever feel like I'm going to throw up...I just don't feel well! So weird! But that has to be what this is...it's been happening for the past 3 days at random times. And I feel better as soon as I eat something with sugar in it!

    I agree with the hangover feeling @littlebit - just feel gross and kind of pukey all the time but never actual throw up.

    @Synchro Coach: welcome!!

    @SweetiePie: wow, great numbers!

    @Boogs: ugh, just extremely tired and gassy. On and off nauseous. Feel better eating and as soon as I'm done, feel cruddy again. Still tons better than throwing up everyday like my last pregnancy.

    @gingerbebe: gotta say, I'm so not missing work right now. Now woulda been prime busy season. Eek.

    cantaloupe / 6131 posts

    @Littlebit: @psw27: I was feeling just queasy last week - it was totally manageable. But then this weekend the MS full on hit like a mac truck. Hopefully you guys are lucky and don't have it so bad. I never had MS in my prior pregnancies, but those ended in MCs so hopefully its a good sign!

  29. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

    I haven't really felt anything yet, but I'm 2-3 weeks behind some of you guys. My other two pregnancies (m/c's) I started feeling awful around 7 weeks, so I'm just preparing myself for that.
    We're tortured when we have NO symptoms and tortured when we DO have symptoms!

    @gingerbebe: I"m with you on the tired today. We had a work birthday lunch so I couldn't nap in my car or under my desk like I have done when I get really tired. Think I will try to catch 15 minutes now even though I have meetings to prep for! I constantly feel like I stayed up way too late the night before, even though I was in bed by 10pm.

    Thank you all for the great suggestions on the bachelorette party! I love the ginger ale in a champagne glass idea and think I might be able to pull it off. The wedding festivities are in my hometown in the midwest, so I'm traveling to the wedding, but staying with my parents.

    We are going to a winery/restaurant in the suburbs for dinner and then to then to the (city of Chicago) for drinks and dancing. I would offer to be a DD but I really don't think its a good idea considering I will be falling asleep and haven't driven on icy/snowy roads in five years since I moved to San Diego. Trying to figure out how to get out of it is stressful - maybe I can just use jetlag/travel exhaustion as an excuse since I get in to town at 5pm on the day of the bachelorette party (which is two days before the wedding)?

    @Synchro Coach: Welcome and congrats!

    had the tiniest bit of pink in my cm just now... i know spotting, especially this early, is common, but it's so hard not to worry. i've been mildly crampy since my bfp, so of course i'm going over every horrible scenario in my mind...

    @psw27: @Mrs. Jump Rope: I fight vomiting, so I've been able to keep everything down. It's just painful to eat, nothing sounds good and even though it feels goodt honestly, we've more so been trying to focus on building up HO at this time. It's finally alive again, but we keep having dry spells there. to it it also makes me feel sick, if that makes any sense. I took a Dramamine out of desperation today because I was out with my sister (who doesn't know yet) and I couldn't even talk, I was near tossing my cookies in her car. But, my sweet doctor has a prescription for me to pick up today, she sent one to the pharmacy even though she's off!

    @tequiero21: Totally know what you mean!

    @Boogs: Sorry you aren't feeling well. I've felt nauseous for the last 2 weeks. I don't want to eat, but I fell better if I do.

    @Synchro Coach: Welcome!

    @gksj: Sorry for the cramping. Drink some water and rest. Don't push yoursekf too hard.

    @synchro coach I was a figure skater for years and years, I really miss it and don't know why I never got into coaching! Lucky you!

    @lattelove if you think you can get out of it, I probably would!

    So my birthday party tonight... one girl just emailed that her brother had norovirus all week and she has been throwing up for the last 24 hours. She says she still plans to come if she stops throwing up. I'm pretty sure that norovirus doesn't go away in 24 hours + if I caught it, it would be pretty dangerous for me/the baby right? I'm thinking of just saying I don't feel well and skipping it. Not worth the risk right?

  40. tequiero21
