September 2014 Mummas - Come out where ever you are!

@Littlebit: @Mrs. Jump Rope: I've been sleeping really badly recently but I'm not sure why. I wake up between 2-3am to pee and I have been staying awake for hours afterward. And then I feel sick all day at work because I am so tired! Maybe a pregnancy pillow would help?

@SweetiePie: Can't wait to hear your exciting report!!

@LatteLove: I had that a few nights - the sickness the next day was the worst. One night I got up like 4 times to pee and could barely fall asleep in between. Have no idea what causes it! If I have a bad night like that, I take half a Unisom the next night and usually only get up to pee with a bursting bladder at like 5am and fall back asleep. Not a perfect solution, but it was the lesser of the two evils.

For the second and third time moms...does this insatiable hunger last the entire pregnancy??? Or is it a first trimester thing? I am always so hungry (sounds like we all are) and I can't imagine feeling this way for another 6 months!

@Sweetiepie: I don't know! I don't remember being as hungry as I have been the first trimester with my DD. But I hit 13 weeks on Sunday and I have noticed that in the last few days I haven't been quite as ravenous as the last 2 months, so that's encouraging...

  5. SweetiePie

    @Pancakes: Well that's a bit of a relief!

@SweetiePie: lol I actually didn't get insatiable hunger with either pregnancies. I had to force myself to eat to make sure I gained enough weight with the twins. With this one, I'm just trying to eat regularly so I don't get nauseous. I'm sure it's just a first trimester thing! It might be like a switch thing, where one day, you just won't be as hungry.

@SweetiePie: I want to know the answer to this too! It's exhausting to get so hungry so often!

Not pregnancy related, but DH is officially banned from doing the taping when we're painting. The first day we didn't have a tall enough stool/ladder, so he taped off the top. 3 of the walls are white, so we didn't even bother, but he had to do the wall that is Gators blue (it's his office), and he did a TERRIBLE job. It's uneven, got blue on the trim, didn't get blue on parts of the wall, etc. I'm going to have to retape the whole thing and repaint that edge now that I can reach. Thankfully we're already planning to paint the trim (it's currently two different shades of a flat gray), so at least it doesn't add that to the list. I knew he didn't have any experience, but he said he could do it!

Also, we have to turn in the car (it's a lease) tomorrow, and he JUST realized that it has to be between 8 and 10 (am). We were planning on late afternoon. So now I have to get up way earlier than usual, and I'll be stuck at the new house afterwards, all day, with not even a microwave to heat up food, and no way to go out and get anything. Guess it's gonna be a Papa John's day! Oh, and we leave for his company trip REALLY early Thursday, so we'll have to come back and do all the packing tomorrow night. And I'm going to have to take all the laundry to the new house and do it there, then bring it back. This is some super awesome poor planning we've managed here.

@torchwood that sounds like some tough scheduling! My DH and I did a very similar sort of move-in minus me being pregnant. We did a crappy job painting and I wish we had just waited until we had more time and then we left for a cruise 3 days after moving in and came home to chaos! Hang in there, it all gets unpacked eventually

@LatteLove: I made an amazing pillow fort last night. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning!

  12. gingerbebe

    cantaloupe / 6131 posts

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @LatteLove: Last night, I used a long pillow, a memory foam pillow, a stuffed animal, and a standard pillow in some odd arrangement where I had a pillow under my knees, two pillows under my neck, with my arms and legs splayed in an X formation, slapping my husband repeatedly in the head, only to switch up every 30 minutes to a side-sleeping position that only feels good if I kick my entire leg over and arm over my husband (leading to all sorts of interesting jabs in his face and crotchal region). I think I woke up this morning laying on my side facing the opposite direction, with a pillow under my arm, a stuffed animal in my armpit, and a pillow between my legs, but with one leg kicked straight back behind me scissor-kicking my husband.

I am so fun to live with!

@Torchwood: Oy, sounds like a crazy week! Hope you have fun on the trip though

On my way to the NT scan! I can't decide when to open the gender envelope! I have to go back to work so I wonder if we should wait and do it over dinner tonight. But I want to know nowwwwww!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @gingerbebe: I slept better last night but I haven't made any pillow rearrangements. I think my key is to nap for no more than 20 minutes midday. I seem to sleep best when I nap during the day, but only if it's a little (I slept terribly the nights after I got 1.5-2 hour naps). I'm not uncomfortable yet and I can still sleep on my stomach, thank goodness!

Still feeling rotten on the MS front today and so annoyed since I had four good days in a row! At least I felt good over the weekend.

@SweetiePie: Looking forward to hearing your news - whenever you open that envelope! And I hope the insatiable hunger goes away soon, too. I am running out of snack options here!

Just got back from an appointment and heard a sweet little heartbeat. Such a relief!!!

@SweetiePie: I don't remember being so hungry with LO. I couldn't resist a stop in Trader Joe's on my way home from the midwife today. I grabbed two boxes of crackers and some cream cheese before realizing that there truly was not enough food in the store to satiate my hunger.

@tequiero21: Yeah! I thought of you when we found out. I thought "tequiero's boy and my boy can be friends!" hahaha.
    Thanks for updating the list
I think that on other months they use the blue 'bfp' emoticon for a boy and the pink heart for a girl!

@Weagle: @LatteLove: @Pancakes: You know what's weird? I posted that question yesterday about hunger and today I feel kinda normal! I'm not as hungry (didn't eat much at all today) and haven't felt that yucky indigestion/heartburn/nausea after eating either! Maybe since I'm nearing the end of first tri things are already leveling off?

@Weagle: That is the best feeling. So glad to hear it went well!

@SweetiePie: Congratulations! Now I'm starting to question my thoughts on us having a girl. Looks like there might be a lot of boys here!

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes for the trip. Leave tomorrow (leave the house at 5am, awesome). DH will have meetings every morning, but since I'm a late sleeper it works well. And the "family night" is at Harry Potter World, so I'm SO excited.

Today was nuts. Started out with major traffic (wreck blocking most of a ramp) that meant it took 30+ minutes to go less than half a mile. I met DH at his work, and was able to pee there, but by the time we got to where we were dropping off the car I was seriously almost ready to pop a squat on the side of the road. This constant peeing is absolutely my least favorite pregnancy symptom, and woohoo, it's only going to get worse.

Anyway, I was really sad to drop off the car, because it's been my favorite car (Nissan Juke) by far to drive, but it's crazy impractical. No storage at ALL, and bad gas mileage. Still, I was more upset than I expected. I dropped DH back at work, so I could at least keep his car and not be trapped all day, but then I got lost going back to the house and wound up pulling into a parking lot to have a complete crazy pregnant lady meltdown and called DH crying that I didn't know where I was. I KNEW I needed to just pull up googlemaps, but it's much less effective to cry to an app on your phone. He handled it well (and gets bonus points for saying that it was nobody's business when I asked him later if he'd been comparing crazy pregnant wife stories with his coworkers), and I figured out how to get where I was going, and it was fine. But yeah, it was a rather dramatic morning. I wound up getting myself some Starbucks and sitting reading for a while before I started working on painting the dining room today.

Anyway, aside from being exhausted and needing to be up in 5 hours, I'm all better now. That's the one nice thing about the random pregnancy meltdowns, is that I seem to feel much better afterwards. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week/weekend, just in case I can't check in while I'm gone.

I was feeling so rough the other day at work that I did something I've never done before, I totally used LO nr 1 as an excuse, I told my colleagues he was unwell and I had to go pick him up from daycare. And then I went home and fell asleep on the sofa. Now I'm feeling so guilty I'll probably end up working way more to make up for the 2 hours I missed!

Congrats to all the great appointments!

I think its so freaky we're starting to get gender already - its making me realize we've actually made it pretty far in this pregnancy!

We had a few firsts last night and today. Last night I was able to finally find the baby's HB on the doppler. It wasn't for very long and it was RIGHT next to my placenta so it was scrambling between my HB and the baby's but it was definitely there and we heard it!

This morning's first is that I wore a shirred-side shirt to work, which I'd been avoiding because I didn't want people to know I was KU'ed yet, but this shirt is so comfy and since we're officially out of first trimester on Saturday, I feel okay with it!

@Torchwood: I think your meltdown sounds awesome. I think moments like that are what make pregnancy fun! I heard "Wonderful Tonight" on the way home from the store last night and had tears streaming down my face the 1-block drive home and I was just like "GOD these hormones are ridiculous!!" Have fun on your trip!

Has anyone made any large purchases yet? I've been stalking craigslist for the stroller, crib, and swing we want. Today I've found good deals on the swing and stroller but when I talked to my husband about them he totally shut down. Said it was too early, there's no hurry, and that we've spent too much money this month. Which I get, but we have money in savings set aside for baby gear, and I thought we were both under the impression that we would slowly accumulate the larger things so we didn't have to buy them all at once at the end. Kinda bummed I spent all this time looking up items for no reason. So is it too early to be making semi-big purchases? By semi-big I mean in the $100-$150 range.

@tequiero21: Yeah. I'm usually a total glutton. Seriously.

Right now I have to pre plan to eat and force food down, otherwise I'd prefer to simply not eat. Today was an odd day at work, so I didn't pre-plan. I realised at 4.30 I'd consumed maybe 200 calories? And most of that was in skittles.

  40. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Littlebit: haven't made any big purchases yet. I think the crib is what I need most, with the bed and all, but I'm definitely going to wait until we move into the new home. I'd say just keep saving up the money, and buy them after you've had your shower? You never know, people may want to gift u stuff at that price range and save u money!!! I got my breast pump, car seats, baby carriers, crib, from my shower. Maybe your parents or in laws may want to buy your crib or stroller. I think it's good to research so u know what to put on your registry. Don't forget, if u don't have those 20% coupons, there is a completion discount of usually 10% if u buy off your registry.

@farawayviolet: glad to see u posting! Hope your pregnancy is going well. Were u the one with the cyst? Hope it's gone down! Mmmm skittles. I wouldn't mind some tropical flavor.
