@gingerbebe: I'm sorry your so tired. Rest up for that growing baby!

@tequiero21: Thanks. Good luck for your appointment as well.

    @Boogs: Welcome!

Edit: How is it that I always seem to post and then end up starting a new page?

@T.H.O.U. Thanks And congrats to you too!

@Mrs. Confetti I'm staying pretty positive, and I do have a really good support system, so that will be helpful no matter what happens!

I called to schedule my first appointment, but it is SO difficult with military medicine. I have to schedule an OB orientation before I can even have bloodwork done, even though this is technically my fourth pregnancy. Super frustrating! If the bloodwork looks good I'll likely end up switching to a civilian provider.

Anyone else having a hard time believing it's real? My biggest concern at the moment is that I'm going to get my period (I'm 13dpo), and this will all have been some sick joke.

  8. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

100% @littlebit. I dream about it not being real or having a m/c, I keep taking my temp every morning to make sure its still high, I took another HPT the other day. I think once I see my doctor it will feel more real!

@Littlebit: yup, that's how I felt the first few days! It was weird and I kept thinking, "I should have my period!"

It's morphed into "my breasts stopped hurting, is this bad?!" which then morphs into "wait, I've gotta puke. Okay, still pregnant!"

OMG yesssss to all of this - I feel like the shoe is constantly about to drop - why aren't I sicker? More tired? More boob achy? Totally paranoid over here!

If this is baby #2 for you, when do you plan on making nursery plans?

We have a handful of major household projects to complete this spring/summer (French drain, new front steps, landscaping our new backyard, etc) and in order to turn my studio back into a bedroom, this means we also HAVE to complete our man cave turned playroom + studio space.

It feels like a lot to do! I don't want to rush things (I'm only 5.5 weeks!) but I'm also like.. Shit, this is a lot to do!

I like your chain of thoughts @Mrs. Jumprope! I definitely have been doing the "well the crampy stabby feeling went away....oh but my boobs kill...oh but they don't kill as much as yesterday...." gotta love the mental games we are playing with ourselves!!

No nausea here yet. Fingers crossed. I also eat constantly so I think that helps

@Littlebit: ugh. Me too. I'm so nervous to go to the doctor today. I'm afraid she's going to give me bad news and I'm going by myself.... First time I got bad news, I was by myself. It sucked.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: ugh, unfortunately, we will be out of this house by the time the baby comes. So I can't even think about it until we buy a new place, which is hopefully in the next 5 months!

@tequiero21 Ahh! 3 more hours... waiting is the worst. Hopefully the cramps were just attachment or implantation.

@tequiero21: aw good luck today! I'll be thinking about you!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this. I'm hoping it goes away with time. My last MC I had spotting while I was getting positive tests...so at least I'm doing better than last time?

  20. Kate6214

    cherry / 245 posts

@psw27: Thanks. My stomach is still upset, but I'm taking that as a good thing at this point.

@Littlebit: That is totally normal. It's hard when you don't feel symptoms because that test is the only thing that tells you that you are pregnant.

@tequiero21: Good luck today. Work has been a good distraction for me today.

  21. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

@Kate6214: glad to hear it's normal!

I'm also having a hard time not taking more tests! I have one FRER left, and it's burning a hole in my pocket I think I'll take it tomorrow so I can just be done with it. I hope we get some more September mama's soon!

  22. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@Littlebit: I hated waiting for the day AF was due to go by. It made me wish I had tested later instead of sooner! It still doesn't seem real at almost 6 weeks, and based on past experience that isn't gonna let up for me for a while! I always, always wanted to be pregnant/have a baby, so when it finally happened it was (is) just so surreal. I keep thinking "really? I'm really pregnant?" Even after 2 losses it still feels exciting but bizarre.

  23. gingerbebe

    cantaloupe / 6131 posts

@tequiero21: Hope everything went well! Give us an update!

I had to come into work 30 minutes late this morning. I just could NOT get up. So tired! I had a cup of green tea an hour ago and that seems to have perked me up just a bit. There's so much work to do at the office that I can't really slack off but its sooooo hard.

DH and I don't know if we'll move this summer or not. Our lease is up in July, but it would be awfully close to our due date and hot as blazes around here. (We were thinking about moving before got pregnant, so it was going to come up anyway). I think we're not going to buy for a while, but once you bump up to a 4-bedroom around here, prices tend to skyrocket and they make you pay all the city utilities (water, sewer, trash), which we don't have to in our current 3-bedroom. (We need all 3 bedrooms right now for various reasons). Theoretically we can just throw the crib in the master bedroom and have the kid sleep with us for a year, but we'd definitely have to move the following year because this old house has too many quirks that I think would be too dangerous for a walking toddler. Sigh!

In other news, my SIL is pregnant right now and announced at 8 weeks. I think she's just about 14 weeks? I dunno, she's due in June sometime. Anyways, because of our prior 2 losses, she's technically having the first grandchild so everyone in DH's family is super excited and planning a huge shower for her in April and I'm really happy for her and want her to enjoy the attention. Unfortunately, I don't know if we want to tell our families until we're past a few more benchmarks because of all our miscarriages. So I feel nervous about rolling up in there 12-14 weeks pregnant and being like SURPRISE! I dunno, maybe we will tell a little sooner (we can't share to just one person in the family, they all talk). Anyone else have this issue?

  24. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@gingerbebe: i think because i've already had a miscarriage, my parents know how important it is to not say anything to anyone right now. so i've only told them (and dh's parents).... we wanted to tell someone! i'm dying to tell my brother too but i think we'll wait for the viability ultrasound next week.

what's the furthest you've gone? around 12-14 weeks you'll have had the nuchal scan (if you opt in for that) so you'll know better and feel more confident, i think, to announce. eek! good luck! i think it's nice to be able to talk to someone about it, though, u know?

so update: got an u/s. couldn't really see anything or hear anything their machines were so outdated. i have a viability and dating u/s next wed! but they saw one sac and they took tons of blood and asked tons of questions. so, so far, i'm still pregnant! woo!

I can't believe I'm on here :D. Surprise baby! Symptoms started one day after meeting with obgyn to discuss starting TTC in August and options for fertility treatment!

    Estimated Due Date (EDD):
Sept 24, but I think I may have ovulated early, so more like September 17.

    When Did You Find Out?:
This morning! But i have had a gut knowledge that I am pregnant (with symptoms) for 3-4 days.

    Child Number: 1

Where You Live: Ohio, but I am a recent immigrant from New Zealand.

What kind of provider will you see?:
I am high risk for m/c, so at first my obgyn. After the first trimester I hope to change to a midwife. they have a great birthing centre at the local hospital, and my obgyn and midwives work together, so I will be in good hands

    When's Your First Appointment?:
    21st January.

What kind of birth do you want?:
Ideally natural, possibly waterbirth. My Mum was a midwife for a long time, and she is hoping I have a homebirth, but I think I'll go to the birthing centre (located at the hospital - talk about best of both worlds!)

What You're Most Excited For: Meeting my healthy baby. Hearing the heartbeat to know baby is well (I read m/c risk drops to 10% when a heartbeat is felt)

What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage. I have PCOS and elevated DHEA. Waiting to hear back from obgyn today if I need to take anything. Every twinge I feel scares me though!

Symptoms so far: Sore breasts, a bit emotional, felt queazy since last night. Small cramping/ pinging/ tightening in pelvic area.

Do you have a blog?: Yes, but a bit behind (ie still have to write about my November wedding)
    http://mercuryviolet.wordpress.com

Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart:
I don't have one yet :). I do keep checking it again and again though!

@tequiero21 YAY! We had a really bad ultrasound in the ER when we lost our 2nd and the doctor kept apologizing that their machine was poor quality. Its super frustrating because its like WHY WOULD I HAVE COME IN OTHERWISE!? YOU TOLD ME TO COME IN!! At least you saw the sac, so that's good! I can't wait for my first US because I have no idea what my EDD is.

My first was a missed MC at 10 weeks, the second was 5 weeks-ish. We told our parents about our prior pregnancies and miscarriages, but recently found out that DH's mother had been telling every Tom, Dick, and Harry about our losses. (We even got a Christmas card from a super distant relative of DH a few weeks ago and she wrote that my MIL had shared about our "troubles conceiving." I about hit the roof.) I think that's why we may hold off for a while. I don't know - if we get past our viability and dating U/S at the end of the month, that should put as about 8 weeks so I may feel a LITTLE better about sharing then but I guess we'll just have to go by what feels right. I've told a few friends that are really close to me for prayer and I might share with my Bible study group this week because they've been with us through all of our losses, but it seems a little weird to make our families the last to know!

@gingerbebe: I'm sorry you've gone through all that. It's so hard when someone goes against your wishes. It makes me feel like they are untrustworthy.

We've told immediate family (my parents, brother & sister), but haven' shared the news with anyone else. My nana's birthday is in a few weeks, and we always get together to celebrate. I plan on telling everyone then -- she will just about die. I'm hoping to record it!

A family member told everyone about our first pregnancy, so we've been very reserved and put a stop to the info train. They aren't aware of our losses, either, and we aren't sure when we will spill the beans on this pregnancy. An untrustworthy person makes you a little more guarded..

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@gingerbebe: omg, that's so wrong. It's your business, not hers! I found it so annoying when random people came up to me at my parents church. Apparently, I've been part of my parents prayer requests. So when I showed up to their church pregnant, everyone thought it was their right to touch my belly and tell me that they prayed for me. I think u should trust your gut. You're lucky to have a good group of people supporting u.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: thx! No news is better than bad news, eh?

Saw a flicker of a heartbeat. The baby is measuring 5w5d so it's even earlier then I thought, but I'm just so happy that I got to see that everything was ok.

@Gingerbebe Our losses were very similar. This time I've just told my mom and my sister, and my dentist this morning, so he wouldn't do x-rays.

Our first appointment is scheduled for Jan. 22. It's going to be a long two weeks!

@tequiero21: yes! How far along are you? Did you only see a sac?

  33. Kate6214

    cherry / 245 posts

@tequiero21: Glad your appointment went well.

    @farawayviolet: Welcome

@gingerbebe: All of my immediate family knows. We were together for Christmas and I wanted to tell in person. They all also know about out miscarriage so they know that they need to be tight lipped. I know that if it happened again that I would want their support. If I had a family member that shared about our "troubles" they would be lucky that I told them before giving birth! How awful.

  34. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

    @farawayviolet: welcome!!

@Kate6214: yay! So lucky to see something!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: saw only one sac, but their machine was so antiquated it didn't have sound or the ability to get a closer look, so not sure how it is measuring. I have to go to some fetal monitoring place next week to get a viability and dating u/s.

Glad you had a good visit @tequiero21

My doctor's office just changed my appointment from 2/7 to 2/6 but now my DH can't come cause of work. He's traveling the end of January and beginning of February and is coming back on the night of the 6th. He probably won't be back in time. Kind of bummed.

@littlebit They just said the doctor wouldn't be in on the 7th, no real reason. I don't want to push the appointment too much further since I will probably be almost 9w at that point! My DH has to travel the beginning of the week of the 10th too... sheesh. Way too much travel! funny cause he rarely does but it is all clustered up for some reason!

I spilled the beans to my close friends today, and one mama told me about this fun gender predictor.

You take your age at the time of conception and the month you conceived and add the two numbers together. Odd is boy, even is girl.

We had fun seeing if it added up for our existing kids, and was spot on for Chloe & the other moms kids.

If this is accurate, I'd be having a boy.

This is the stupid stuff we do to pass time before preschool pick up!
