@Kate6214: ugh, feeling so icky. Have a kids bday party to go to today. Really don't want to go, but it's a good friend's daughter. Sigh.

@Kate6214: I'm glad you're feeling well! I have off and on nausea but am powering through it. We are telling my I laws today about the baby, so we are frantically cleaning haha

@tequiero21: Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hopefully the party won't last too long

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I'm glad you are powering through. Have fun telling your inlaws!

@psw27: Definitely feeling the MUST eat when hungry!

And the hunger has officially set in fully. I ate an entire can of spaghetti-o's after dinner yesterday, and was hungry again by bedtime. Oy. Gonna have to stock up on filling, healthy snacks!

Also, not only is my face breaking out insanely badly all of a sudden (not that I've ever had great skin, but this is way worse), I'm also finding zits in places like up my nose, and behind my ear. Awesome. >_<

@Kate6214: Glad you're feeling better! We're going to look at houses today! Very excited, because this bunch looks like the best we've seen so far, from what we can tell looking at pictures!

@Weagle: yayayyayayay!!! Congrats mama! And welcome!

  6. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Mrs. Jump Rope: yay! Hope it went well!

@Kate6214: not bad, luckily! Less than 2 hours! And the kids had fun.

@Torchwood: up your nose. Ouch. I've had those and they hurt like heck! Probably all the hormonal changes. I need to stock up on healthy snacks too. Been munching on pop corners.

  7. Kate6214

    cherry / 245 posts

@Torchwood: That just sound uncomfortable. Did any of the houses look good?

@tequiero21: Glad the party wasn't too long. Hopefully now you can get some rest.

@Torchwood: so far my skin is fairly clear, though a few small bumps have popped up.

With Chloe I had horrible acne all over my face, shoulders and back. It even scarred! I didn't have acne growing up and rarely had pimples as a teen/adult so it really threw me for a loop.

  9. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@tequiero21: It does hurt! I keep trying to find a way to pop it, but it's totally inaccessible. Not cool.

@Kate6214: We're going to have my FIL look at one of them. We liked it but had some questions about the structural work. If he thinks it looks good enough, we may have an actual contractor look at it. They want a little much, but the realtor pulled up the stats for the neighborhood, and they're asking way more than anything else has been selling for. Which usually means you're more likely to be able to talk them down a little. We're not in love with it yet, but we could definitely see ourselves being happy there!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Ooh! I hope it doesn't spread any further. Down my back would drive me nuts!

  10. Torchwood

One of the books I'm reading said, regarding sex during pregnancy, "if you're enjoying it, then baby is too." Am I the only one who is totally creeped out by that? DH definitely didn't like it either.

Finally announced! I know I'm weird to be announcing at only 6 weeks, but I just hate waiting! Having support through my losses (we announced 3 days before the first, and sort of announced the loss right after the second) was really helpful to me. So I'd rather let people know sooner than later. Finally got to put up the blog posts I had written too. Hooray!

  12. Mrs. Jump Rope

    blogger / coconut / 8306 posts

@Torchwood: that's exciting! Who did you tell?

We have told my parents, brother, sister in law and sister, and my husbands parents, brother and sister in law. I'm waiting until my nanas birthday on February 2 to tell everyone else. We all get together for her bday. I want to record her reaction.. I'm guessing it will be as hilarious as when I told her about Chloe! (She screamed and dropped the phone!)

How is everyone feeling? I'm 6w1d and yesterday the nausea HIT me. It had been off and on for the last few weeks but now I can't even look at food without gagging.

  13. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

@Torchwood: Yay! That's awesome! I can't wait to tell! It's driving me crazy.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Aw I wish I could tell my grandma in person! We live way too far away

So far my mom, his mom, my best friend, his best friend, and a couple of my close friends at work know. We'll tell the rest of the family on February 10th (as long as everything goes well with the ultrasound). We'll tell friends/everyone else after 12 weeks.

  14. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

    @Torchwood: yay!

So far, told our parents. And hellobee lol. But yesterday, someone totally caught me off guard at church. I had a sweat shirt on and my keys in my pocket and she totally thought that was a pregnancy bump. She screamed are you pregnant?! I was like huh? Wha? Lol. Then she saw my keys and she looked a bit flustered, so I said I'm not sure yet or something to that effect. She's like o, you're usually so skinny.... You're trying already? Ugh. I'm so bad at lying on the spot. She's a nice girl, sounds worse when I write this out lol.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: ugh.... On and off, just feeling like carsick or something in the pit of my stomach, if u know what I mean. Definitely not as bad as when I had the twins, but still hate this feeling. I really wish we could skip this part.

I'll tell my bro and his bro after we see the 7-week ultrasound, make sure the baby is still cooking. We will probably start telling people after the first trimester.

  15. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

We had already told our parents and DH told his twin sister. So yesterday's announcement was for basically everyone else. I just posted it on FB, and my mom texted some family members. I'm VERY selective about who I'm friends with on FB though. There aren't more than a handful of people on there that aren't close friends or family. DH didn't post it yet, because he's the opposite and has a thousand zillion friends on FB and he didn't want to tell all them. I also emailed my little brother and sister (ages 10 and 14). My sister is SO excited. She's sending me pictures of baby halloween costumes and christmas outfits.

No nausea yet. My stomach has generally been less settled than usual, but that's all. I have gagged on a couple things though. Part of me (a SMALL part) wishes I had some nausea because I want more definite symptoms, but right now I'm focusing on enjoying not feeling sick.

I have, however, been having insomnia. Which is so not awesome. DH is about to go insane because I keep making him roll over to stop snoring. If I'm asleep, it doesn't wake me up, but since I'm not sleeping a lot, it drives me nuts and I'm constantly harassing him to roll over.

  16. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@Torchwood: With you on the insomnia. It is AWFUL. And on top of it, I'm generally exhausted. By the end of a day chasing a toddler, I am basically a bitch on wheels. Tired, crabby, the works.

Over the weekend, my boobs exploded - probably a whole cup size overnight, and since this is number two for me, I am not surprised that I am already starting to show a bit (mostly bloat, but looks SO obviously pregnant to me, even at 6.5 weeks).

  17. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Torchwood: omg I am the same with my hubby. When I'm asleep, his snoring usually doesn't bother me, but when I'm awake... Let's just say I've slept on the couch a few nites....

  18. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: wow! I wish my boobs would explode. Can I tell u it shrunk from weaning?! Yeah, even my hubby noticed.

  19. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@tequiero21: mine also shrunk after weaning. My "explosion" probably brings them almost to my pre-baby boob size (which still isn't much...

  20. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

@Torchwood: @Mrs. Confetti: I'm with y'all on the insomnia! Last night I probably slept a combined 3 hours. And my husband slept like a rock, but is texting me right now telling me how tired he is. 0.o I'm giving him stabby eyes through the phone.

  21. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: Insomnia while exhausted from pregnancy is NOT fun! And mine did that with my first pregnancy! I'm really wondering if it will happen again. Though mine aren't small to begin with, so I'm also a little afraid of how big they'll be by the end.

@tequiero21: I've considered the couch for sure! May wind up there at this rate.

Guys, I'm on cloud nine. My scan went great & we learned that we are only having one baby. I got a cute photo of Chloe holding the ultrasound. She calls it her baby!

We are going to a hockey game this week & in excited. It's my favorite match up, too!

I have another ultrasound in two weeks for the heartbeat!

@Torchwood: yay for announcing! I'm glad everyone is so excited for you.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Sorry the nausea has hit. I'm so excited that your scan went well.

@tequiero21: I'm a bad liar too. Someone at work noticed I still wasn't looking good today and I totally accidentally outed myself. Fortunately it was just one person and I trust her to keep it quiet.

@Littlebit: and @Mrs. Confetti: Sorry you are having trouble sleeping.

I think my nausea is here to stay but at least I'm not throwing up. I hate throwing up.

Kind of going out on a limb here but is there anyone here who doesn't have Amazon Prime but is interested in sharing a membership? I'm thinking it'll be a good idea with all the purchases I'll be making soon but I'm not quite ready to plop down the full $80 yet.

Also, does anyone know how Amazon mom works? Is it another $80 a year on top of amazon prime?

  30. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@Littlebit: I'm in both and it's just one membership fee.

  31. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@Littlebit: prime was the best thing we got pre- baby. I ordered everything ever once we was tiny and I wasn't ready for quick errands. Didn't think mom was in addition to prime, but I might be way off on that.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: hoooooooray for an excellent scan - so so happy for you (and so jealous - dying to see my lil lentil in there. Alas, still weeeeeeks to go).

  32. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Yay! So happy for you!

@Kate6214: Thanks! And sorry you're feeling sickly. Hope the throwing up stays well away!

@Littlebit: *I* would be, but DH is really not into it at this point. I can't figure out why, but even though he's the biggest cheapskate I've ever met, he absolutely cannot grasp the concept of spending money to save money. If something we ALWAYS eat is on sale one week, he won't buy extra, only what we need for that week. And similarly, he won't pay for prime even though we use amazon enough at Christmas alone to make back our money.

Oh crap, just gagged BIG time on my pills. I usually can toss back 10+ at a time, so the 7 or 8 I'm taking (doctor has me on 4 folic acids, plus 2 fish oil, and I alternate between 1 and 2 prenatals because they're so expensive I can't justify the 2 a day every day) is usually no big deal. Apparently that's coming to a screeching halt. Time to slowly take one at a time!

  33. Kate6214

    cherry / 245 posts

@Torchwood: Thats a lot of pills. Yikes!

@Littlebit: I don't know how we ordered things on the Internet before Prime. With as much stuff as we order, its worth it to have things in 2 days.

Confession time.....I ate waffles and broccoli for dinner. I did not want to cook and it just sounded good. Anyone else have strange cravings or eating habits?

@Mrs. Confetti: @tequiero21: thanks for the info, ladies!

@Torchwood: My husband is the same way. I finally convinced him when I started talking about the price of diapers

@Kate6214: Exactly! I think it'll definitely be worthwhile. Looks like I'll need to just buck up and pay the full amount!

So, I may have just called and told my doctors office a lie. My first appointment was scheduled for February 10th, but I asked to have it bumped up. My birthday is February 7th and all of my friends are going to be asking questions on why I don't want to go out drinking so I figured it'd be easier if I can just bump up the appointment a couple days so I can tell them (as long as everything is ok) on my birthday I've updated the list, @psw27: looks like we're appointment twins now!

@Kate6214: My cravings are like that even when I'm not pregnant! If it were up to me I would probably still eat like a college student. All I've wanted in the past couple of weeks is tacos. Corn tortillas, carne asada, onions, cilantro, and a bit of lime.

Are any of the second time moms using a new doctor this go 'round? I love the practice I went to with LO, but it's just not convenient anymore. I'm going to switch but have been so lazy about calling. It's between a group of midwives and a solo practitioner. Honestly, I'm a bit worried I'll see the solo throughout my pregnancy and someone else will be in the delivery room that I've never seen.

@Weagle: yeah, I was in ny for my last and now, I'm in nj, using a new doctor. I didn't like how she's in solo practice too and I read not so great reviews about the covering doctors. Would have been more of an issue if I decided to try vbac, but we are going csec so I know I'll have her, unless baby decides to come earlier. I say find out who the covering doctors are. And see if u can meet them during office visits.... Some places do that. Want u to meet all the covering docs. At the very least, look them up.
