@Mrs. Jump Rope: I'd be having a boy also! The Chinese gender predictor said girl. I'm hoping the Chinese are right

@Littlebit: Chinese predictor said girl for me, too.

Someone told me I was glowing today at preschool. I laughed and said, "no, I just showered!"

@Mrs. Jump Rope: haha it was half right with my kids. Said girl. With this one, says girl too. Chinese calculator thingy on baby center says boy. we shall see who is right.

And glowing? I wish I were glowing. I've never gotten the pregnancy glow lol.

@tequiero21: I honestly just showered & put on makeup. I am usually in yoga pants and a tee without any makeup, but I had a coffee date this morning so I showered last night & put on makeup and regular clothes today.

Apparently I don't look quite as nice without makeup! LOL

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Mine's even! And based on timing of BD and O, our odds are a little higher that it's a girl. We also got girl on the chinese prediction thing.

Anyone else feeling any cravings? Not sure if it's pregnancy related, but I went to the grocery store in the freezing cold at 8pm last night because I HAD to have some pan fried potatoes. And I'm about to make some more. Last time all I wanted was crazy bread from little ceaser's. I wish that I wanted something pre-made this time; it's a lot easier! Oh, and both times I've wanted sweet tea like non-stop. I guess I need to buy some decaf!

    blogger / coconut / 8306 posts

@Torchwood: I don't know if I'd consider it a craving, as I don't consciously seek them out, but I've been eating jalenpenos by the jar.. Or putting red pepper flakes or hot sauce on everything.

@Mrs. Jump Rope Mine is even too! But...it was odd with my DD. But the Chinese gender predictor said girl for her and it says girl for this one too. I would love that, but DH would be very disappointed, I think.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I would be having a boy based on that theory.

@Torchwood: I think it's funny how you are craving something so specific. Glad you were able to make it work even if it was a bit of work. I crave nothing. Food just is awful right now. My dinner is peanut butter and crackers. I was hoping that the nausea was just because I went back to work this week, but it seems its here to stay.

Anyone have animals acting strange? We have 2 dogs. One is very attached to me and the other to my husband, but lately they have both been by my side constantly.

@tequiero21: The ultrasound was to get a date. I haven't had a period since nov 1 (crazy post mc long cycle) I was just happy to see a heartbeat. My mc happened around 7 weeks so I don't feel like I'm out of the woods yet, but I'm trying to stay positive. I'm glad they are getting you in for another ultrasound soon.

@farawayviolet: welcome!! I just peaked at your blog - I grew in that corner of Ohio! Congrats and happy to have you in September mamas.

@Kate6214: my dog was totally different with me in my first pregnancy, especially once I got huge (and once C was born, she got crazzzzzy protective and barky). She is just starting to act different with me now - like clingy I guess.

I am ignoring the gender predictor stuff and mentally willing myself to have a girl. And if it is a boy, I will still be totally happy.

Sorry I have been MIA on this board this week - we had 4 pipes in our bathroom burst from the cold and I have been under water (literally and figuratively...oy) with plumber and repair people and keeping my crazy toddler out of the mess. Hope everyone is feeling good!!

@Mrs. Confetti: Cool - It is really pretty as the seasons change!

My Chinese gender predictor said girl! ETA so did my age + month!

@SweetiePie: So's mine! September 20. Smack bang in the middle of my 2 my possible due dates. The little madam/mister better not get any ideas! (DH LOVES to rub it in that in that case LO will win and I will lose!)

@Torchwood: yes and I used to LOVE telling people that my mom went into labor on Labor Day! I still sorta get a kick out of it What date is yours?

@farawayviolet: Fun! That would be cool to share a birthday, I think!

@Kate6214: yeah, I'm not going to feel out of the woods until I get past the nuchal scan.

@Mrs. Confetti: omg, that really sucks. Hope you got it all straightened out. Is there anything u can do to prevent that from happening again? My cousin had busted pipes last winter and ruined her whole basement.

Ugh, woke up with some tugging pain on my right side this morning that got a little bit worse through the morning. It wasn't like intense pain, but I became worried it was ectopic so I called the fertility clinic. They don't think its ectopic because my HCG numbers were doubling normally and think its a cyst instead. Apparently I should just wait and see if it gets worse and go to the ER if I'm in serious pain??? That seems like a weird way to deal with this. Fingers crossed everything is okay. January 27th can't come soon enough!

  26. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@gingerbebe: I'm surprised they didn't ask u to come in so they could double check..... Definitely go to the er if the pain persists. Sounds like it could just be some cramping?

  27. Mrs. Jump Rope

    blogger / coconut / 8306 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: oh my gosh! Damn this cold weather. I hope you're feeling well & your pipes are fixed in no time!

@tequiero21: I am ready to fall over. Is it nap time yet?

@gingerbebe: I get that same feeling sometimes, but the good news is that it goes away. Do you ever have cramping all around, instead of in the same location? Are you spotting? Does your shoulder hurt? I asked my RE about an ectopic, and those were the warning signs she gave me. Also, I was told that with an ectopic your numbers slowly rise. If they're doubling and you're not in unbearable pain, then yes, you ought to be fine. If you're in excruciating pain then run to the ER.

Or, can you call back and request a beta & ultrasound?!

  28. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@tequiero21: @psw27: @Mrs. Jump Rope: so grateful to be a renter - the water is back on and the pipes are fixed. Waiting on our condo association to make a game plan to hire a dry wall person to fix the holes in the wall. Thankfully it has warmed a ton so it is not so bad and will hopefully be all fixed soon.

I too was born on Labor Day. Sept 1. I hated having a holiday weekend bday growing up because everyone was out of town and go figure Colin was born on Memorial Day weekend and now I am due close to Labor Day with #2.

@Littlebit: I am also anxious for more symptoms - I would kill to be morning sick, just to know I was definitely having preg symptoms.

@gingerbebe: so sorry you are going through that pain - hope it is brief and passes without incident.

  29. gingerbebe

    cantaloupe / 6131 posts

@tequiero21: I've had cramping off and on since my BFP which hasn't worried me at all, but this is definitely a localized stabbing pain on my right side, which is why I called. Its not like wincing pain, but its sharp enough where its noticeable and annoying.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Yeah, the pain is just on my right side, around where my ovary should be. I'm not spotting or having any weird discharge, which is part of why they wanted to just wait and see. I wish they would just give me a stupid ultrasound - it seems like it wouldn't be that much trouble and its the fertility clinic, so you'd think they'd be more cautious about it. They've been really responsive and great so far, so I guess it doesn't seem too dangerous. They kept reiterating that my HCG numbers looked too good to be an ectopic, so I'm trying to rest in that, but part of me like you took the numbers when they were super low (58, 116, 267), so while yes, they did double every 48 hours, it was really low!

I dunno, I'm trying not to be crazy lady. I have a lot of work to do at the office today, so I guess that's a good distraction. I'll definitely go in to the ER if it hurts any more but I really don't want to lose a tube (we've already had enough fertility drama!)

@gingerbebe sorry to hear that... maybe it is just the connection being made to your uterine lining? (I think that is what the nurse told me on the phone the other day)

@tequiero21 I feel pretty much completely normal! I'm really tired but I had a really busy week with not enough sleep. The only thing that I notice is that I get kind of nauseous after I eat or if I eat too much. Also when I am hungry lately, I like MUST eat or else. I also lost my temper a bit this morning over something pretty silly so I think the hormones are raging.

I am exhausted. The past three nights I've been in bed at 8pm, 8pm, and 8:30pm. I have a feeling tonight will be no different, seeing as how I just nodded off at my desk!

@Mrs. Confetti: so sorry about your pipes. What a mess!

@Torchwood: Glad to have you as a due date buddy. How fun that you might share a birthday with your little one.

@tequiero21: Sorry you aren't feeling well. Ginger ale and saltines have been my friends these past few days. Hope you feel better soon.

@gingerbebe: It must be so scary to feel those kinds of pains. I hope it just a cyst.

@Littlebit: Get some rest. Your body is working hard.

Jumping in! I got my BFP today.

    Estimated Due Date (EDD):
    September 19

    When Did You Find Out?:
    Today! January 10

    Child Number:
    2

    Where You Live:
DC Metro... There seems to be a number of us here!

What kind of provider will you see?:
Not sure yet. I saw an OBGYN with LO, and I love her (and the whole practice). However, the office/hospital is pretty far away, so I'm trying to decide between a solo-practitioner and a midwife group.

    When's Your First Appointment?:
    Haven't made one yet

What kind of birth do you want?:
Not sure. LO's birth was so fast until they let me get the epi at the last minute (I was at 10 waiting for a cervical lip to clear.) As soon as I got the epi my contractions basically stopped, so I kind of regret it. It would be nice if the next labor is either so fast that I don't have an option or so slow that an epi wouldn't really hurt anything.

    What You're Most Excited For:
Just being pregnant! And finding out whether LO will have a little sister or brother.

    What You're Most Scared About:
Another miscarriage. Having morning sickness like last time (24 weeks full of puke)

    Symptoms so far:
My boobs are sore, a bit of cramping, headaches, and a ridiculous craving for tacos!

    Do you have a blog?:
    No

Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart:
