Nausea is officially here. Any time I get hungry I start to feel like complete crap...I should eat lunch soon, before I really feel gross!

@Weagle: I switched practices to a midwives practice. I would be nervous with a solo practitioner too.
@psw27: yay for symptoms, sorry you are feeling crappy

@tequiero21: I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the midwives. This is the only solo that I've even heard of at this hospital and the others are huge practices (3+ office locations with 12-15 doctors). I doubt I would be able to see everyone that could potentially be a covering doctor. Plus, I've heard nothing but positive reviews about he hospitalists there.

I feel better @Mrs. Confetti - just had a huge lunch. I just need to not let myself get too hungry!

@psw27: it's it funny how your body tells u to eat? Natures way of keeping baby fed! That's why I've been munching a lot too.

today, i've had half a head of cauliflower and 1/4 of a bag of grapes.
running out of food over here, and we just went grocery shopping two days ago!

I must admit, I'm a bit jealous of all of you being hungry! I'm not AT ALL but I know I should eat. It could be because I'm sick, but I was like this in the first tri with LO too.

I feel I need to drink more water. So hard!
@Weagle: awww hopefully u will get your appetite back soon!

@psw27: Hooray for symptoms, but boo for nausea!
I'm feeling it too, but the opposite of you. When I'm hungry, I feel fine, just REALLY hungry. But once I eat I feel like crap. Between that and being super tired but having insomnia all night, my body seems to be very confused about what it wants.
Anyone else crafty and started thinking about projects for the baby? I just bought yarn for a blanket, but I have some hats I have to finish for customers first. I'm so impatient to start! I've actually already made one blanket, but it 100% does not match the nursery we have planned. (The picture is way dull by the way. These are NEON colors.)
I know some people are hesitant to work on anything this early, but I read this blog post (http://www.hellobee.com/2013/03/11/finding-my-faith) from Mrs. Paintbrush a while back, and it made me want to work on something to keep my faith up that we will have a baby. I started that afghan then, but it worked up really fast so I had to find a new project since it's gotten HUGE.

@Torchwood: Wow! That's beautiful. I like to crochet but I get board with projects so I stick to hats and small baby blankets. I love the idea of making something and having the faith that I will eventually have a baby.

@tequiero21: Do you have a special water bottle? I will drink more water if its out of a straw so I have a couple of those double walled water bottles with a straw and I keep one at one and one at home. It's like I have to trick myself into drinking more.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@tequiero21: Water is hard! I don't know why since I normally drink a ton, but I never want it now and I feel like I'm getting myself dehydrated.
honeydew / 7968 posts
@Torchwood: really love that! I knit and I want to start projects too. Although I still have open projects for my toddlers lol. Plus, I can't really change colors.
I think dehydration may contribute to nausea....
@Kate6214: hmmm, I don't but maybe I should get one....to motivate me or something.

I had my first appointment today and my doctor bumped my due date back a few according to my measurements. Now I'm right on the August 31/September 1 border so I guess that means I get to hang out on both month boards, right? The good news is that baby is healthy and had a strong heartbeat.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@LovelyPlum: @tequiero21: @mrs. 64: Thank you! I'm really pleased with how that one worked up.
@mrs. 64: Hooray for a strong heartbeat! And hey, hanging out on both will just be twice the fun! I keep thinking I should at least check in there occasionally, since if things go early I could wind up in August.

@mrs. 64: glad to hear u had a good appointment! We will find out more tomorrow but I'm on the 3rd but will give birth in August, but August is already on fire and I can't keep up lol.

Omg ya'll, I may have to stop taking prenatals. Even taking them one at a time was really hard. At this point just *thinking* about swallowing pills turns my stomach, and the smell of them makes it even worse. The folic acid is the least evil though, and from what I've read if you can get that down at least it's not bad. Oy.
I think I'm in denial that I'm having actual nausea. I wanted to so badly (the more symptoms the better over here, even if I'm miserable) that I don't want to get my hopes up. Which feels like the dumbest thing on the planet, since who worries about getting their hopes up that they might be nauseated? Pregnancy is weird.

@Torchwood: Have you tried taking gummies to avoid having to swallow pills?
Anyone else super bloated? I have been so much, to the point where it's a bit painful.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Boogs: They were what I took with my first pregnancy, and they were even more impossible to get down.
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
@Torchwood: Oh man, what a bummer? You try taking them at a different time of day? I couldn't handle them at all in the morning, but I could usually put them down before bed. Which reminds me, I need to go take mine lol!
honeydew / 7968 posts
@Torchwood: if it's really bad, I'd ask the doctor about just taking folic acid and trying to supplement the rest in your meals, meaning eat more of the veggies u need to fulfill the rest? Good luck! I can't imagine taking the number of pills u do. Ouch.
cherry / 245 posts
@Torchwood: I know you have a lot to take. Can you split them up? Some in the morning some at night? My ob gave me a bunch of samples so maybe changing to a different one will help. Also I know it helps me if I take them with some food.
@Boogs: Sooo bloated. I feel disgusting.
coconut / 8498 posts
@Torchwood: You could probably stop prenatals if your diet is sufficient. Check out the diet given by the GW midwives in DC. @septca: can give you more info about it, too!

My mom is annoying me. Haha. Every morning she asks if I had morning sickness that morning. When I say no, she's like 'Oh, GOOD! You don't want that! I'm so glad you don't have to worry about that!'...except that I'm like 8 minutes pregnant. So just because I don't have it today, doesn't mean I won't have it next week! I read most people start experiencing it around 6 weeks, and I'm just now 5 weeks. This is going to be a lonnnnnng 9 months.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Torchwood: when I was pregnant with Chloe I had the same problem with my prenatals! I took them for six months before we got pregnant, and a few weeks after we did I could smell *everything*. My prenatals were awful. I switched brands!
Is that a possibility? To switch to another prenatal?
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Littlebit: aww! My mom is the exact opposite. She swears she never had morning sickness or labor pain, and she had all three of us naturally. I started calling her Mother Mary when I was pregnant with Chloe.

@Torchwood: that blanket is beautiful! What talent. Last week I felt like you did - fine when I was eating, horrible afterwards. This week, nauseous the moment I get hungry. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and had to go downstairs to eat some saltines cause my stomach was churning in my sleep.
@kate6214 I do the insulated cup with a straw thing too... totally helps me drink more water!
I haven't told my mom yet! It seems super weird that she doesn't know. I'm going to see her this weekend with my dad and my MIL but I don't know how to tell them. My step-daughter will be with us and I don't think we want her to know quite yet.... tricky situation....

Just got done w my appt! Looks like I'm 3 days behind, so unofficially due 9/6. Don't think they will change due date. We heard the heartbeat and got some not so great pics. Yay! So nice to see a heartbeat.
blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts
@tequiero21: yay!! Glad the appointment went well! @Torchwood: that blanket is incredible
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
@Kate6214: Yes! Can't wait for it to go away!
@Littlebit: DH has been hopeful that I won't get it this time because I'm fine so far, but like you I'm barely pregnant. I'm 4 weeks now so I figure I have another week or two of not being sick. No sickness for both of us would be nice, though.
@tequiero21: Yay glad all is well!
