@Mrs. Jump Rope: Have you checked out any exercises to encourage her to turn? Our doula made an offhand comment about cat/dog yoga exercises, and DH made it his mission to keep me accountable for doing at least 80 each day I know there are other exercises too, but I can't remember off the top of my head. If nothing else, it felt good to stretch!

@Weagle: yup, ad I did them all with Chloe! Never budged.

Sigh. Ended up at L&D again last night. I was totally fine, but they wanted me to come in and see if my symptoms were something other than a UTI or preterm labor because my urinalysis wasn't super out of line. They ended up discharging me after an hour and a half but its 45 minutes away from home and it basically took up half the day.
I am down for summer splurges. I will probably go for waxing in a few weeks here and while I'm off manis and pedis, I fully expect to relax and treat myself as much as possible because we wont get to take a vacation or leave town because of the stupid previa!

@torchwood in re: your bra question, I am also in the out of control arena. I am in a DDD right now, but plan to move up to an E or F (whatever is the next size). I had really good luck at Soma, they were super sweet and measured me and the prices were not outrageous. I got 2 super soft, comfy bras for $50! I have to go this week and try to get the next size up cause I'm busting out. On my small frame, I look ridiculous with these things - I hope they go down at some point. Not to mention they hurt my back/ribs to support.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@weagle I'm definitely splurging on pedicures all summer. I can't really reach my toes any longer and it is a small luxury that will make me happy.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Weagle: Looks like my splurge might be massages. I got one for Mother's Day, and we're looking to do so again for our anniversary this weekend. It's SO nice with my back and feet already hurting (and my neck from sleeping weird).
@psw27: I'll look into Soma. I have to try something!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Torchwood: @psw27: I'm still wearing my old bras but they are increasingly uncomfortable. Its not so much the cups as the bands are killing me. I basically hate anything rubbing up on my ribs right now. Perhaps because the baby is squishing everything upwards, but I feel super uncomfortable at the end of the day. Some days I just give up and wear a soft jersey tank top with a shelf bra and try to wear a gauzy cardigan or printed blouses over it to hide my nips.
I don't even care anymore - I rolled up at L&D last night with gaucho pants, a maternity tank with no bra, a slouchy cardigan and CROCS. I must have looked homeless or something because the doctor asked me what I did for a living and when I said I was an attorney she sorta did a double take.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@gingerbebe I hear ya on the ribs and being squished. That is so how I feel right now! Not that I want my belly to be enormous but it would be nice if he could move a little more outward. I feel like my left lung/rib cage is being crushed. By the end of the work day I am ready for freedom! What was the outcome at L & D? UTI?
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@psw27: We are waiting on the 48 hour culture for the UTI, but they checked me for just about everything else because my symptoms were all over the place. I had a lot of lower back pain, pelvic floor pain, contractions, and my hands started swelling. Everything came out fine during observation (of course) and they ruled out kidney and vaginal infections, so we're just waiting to see if its a UTI after all.
nectarine / 2932 posts
@gingerbebe: lol. Totally just cracked up at your description. That's me these days too (though not a lawyer).
As soon as I walk in the house the bra is off and so is the underwear. I have a super comfy pair of maternity sweatpants that I'd like to be buried in.

Oh, for those who've gotten their pregnancy pillows already, which one did you pick, and why? I'm definitely going to bite the bullet soon on that. But I feel like I'm already taking up so much space in our bed, adding something that big seems crazy. Really wish this was a good time to go ahead and upgrade to a king!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Torchwood: DH and I already use what we lovingly call "crotch pillows" to put between our legs when we sleep so adding a preggo pillow wasn't really a big deal for us. If anything, it will consolidate my pillow situation and prevent the middle of the night "WHERE IS MY OTHER PILLOW?" conundrum (its on the floor dummy). I picked the Snoogle because I heard the Boppy body pillow sucked and I'm tall, so the Snoogle looked nice and long for me.
nectarine / 2932 posts
@Torchwood: I haven't gotten mine yet, but this is the one I'm planning on getting. Has a ton of great reviews!
nectarine / 2180 posts
@Torchwood: @Gingerbebe: @LittleBit: I have the pregnancy pillow that @littlebit linked to. It was soooo great during my first pregnancy; I did not want to give that thing up! DH hated it though; he was deployed for most of my pregnancy and when he came back he thought the pillow was a bed hog! We had a queen then, but now we have a king. Anyway, that pillow has been in storage in a black plastic trash bag for the last 3 years, stored in either the garage, basement, or attic (depending on which house we were living in). DH brought it down from the attic a few weeks ago, and the cover definitely needs to be washed, which I can do, but...I just can't bring myself to use it. It just seems gross to me after being in storage for so long, but I hate to throw away a $60 pillow just to buy a new one. What do you think? Would you use it? Toss it?
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Pancakes: As long as there was 100% no weird smells or stains from being stored, I'd use it. But you can bet I'd be sniffing the heck out of it to be certain.
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Pancakes: Can you take it to the laundromat and have it washed? They have have those super heavy duty washer dryers they use for comforters that might be able to clean it.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@gingerbebe: good call on taking it to the laundromat! I didn't think about washing the whole pillow.

@weagle @torchwood My summer splurge is definitely massages. I'm up to every other weekend, and by the end of the summer will probably be just about to once a week.

Holy growth spurt Batman, my lower back and lower pelvis are KILLING me the last few days. I know the baby is supposed to be growing a lot this month, but wow am I sore and achy. My hips hurt, I'm having menstrual cramp type pains, and my butt/tailbone is aching. I was worried about preterm labor signs, but they checked me out at L&D and the doctor just thinks its my uterus stretching out because I have no bleeding and my cervix is shut. Anyone else going through this? I can't wait for my Snoogle to get here because my hips are so sore.
kiwi / 556 posts
@Littlebit: That's the one I have. I got it because it was the cheapest with good reviews (my original pillow was falling off the bed!)
I love it. It is super comfortable.
nectarine / 2932 posts
So I impulse purchased a body pillow last night instead of the snoogle. It's pretty comfy, but I didn't get any better sleep.
I did name the pillow Ed Westwick though, so silver lining.

How far along are you?
Where are you at with the nursery?
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it?
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late?

How far along are you? - 23 weeks exactly today!
Where are you at with the nursery? - Finished painting the room and dresser this weekend. Ordered the crib. Hanging curtains/blinds tonight.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it? - We haven't decided yet. Dylan, Elliott, and Patrick are our top contenders at the moment.
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? - Thinking I'll go late! I have no scientific reason to think this...just my gut.

Where are you at with the nursery? Sharing a room with my other LO, so just got him out of the crib and probably won't do anything else.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it? Still no name set, though I wish we had one!
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? My gut says early. I went early last time also. Delivery date will also depend if I just opt for a repeat c/s.

Ooh, I'll play real quick before I have to go wake up DD from her nap.
How far along are you? 23w 2d
Where are you at with the nursery? Umm, we are reusing almost everything from DD1's nursery (unless I can convince DH to buy a new crib). My mom ordered a new quilt for this LO and I need to look into new nursery art/curtains.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it? Sigh, no, we are nowhere close to deciding. Maybe Josephine for a mn.
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? Hmm, I was 3 days late with DD1. I would be fine being on time or late, but I really don't want to be early!
What's your favorite time wasting website besides HB? None right now, I'm taking 2 classes this summer and I'm afraid they're going to kick my butt!

How far along are you? 23 weeks, 4 days.
Where are you at with the nursery? Started cleaning up our bedroom and donated a bunch of our old clothes to make room for a baby nook in the corner of our master.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it?
We have a first name, we are waiting to check with my mom about a middle name this weekend. Haven't decided if we're going to share the name before the birth.
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? Right now, if my placenta previa doesn't resolve itself, we're looking at a scheduled C-section at 36 weeks, so early!

Also, I fell on the pavement today. I didn't fall on my tummy - I just skinned my hand and knee, but goodness, that center of gravity thing is no joke.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@gingerbebe: I've been really uncomfortable lately too, especially the last couple of days. Apparently LO gained the better part of a pound in the last 2.5 weeks, so that probably explains it. So not cool.
How far along are you? 24w4d!
Where are you at with the nursery? Ha! It's currently full of the last few boxes that need unpacking. We do have it pretty well planned, so that's a start, right? We won't purchase any decor until after my shower (next month!), since we don't know what gifts we'll get. We may paint it before then, but might wait to be sure our paint color choices really do look good with the decor.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it? Middle name, which she will go by, yes. First name, not so much. Not sharing officially, but it's on the bump thread (was keeping it gold)
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? It'll have to be early. Worst case, c-section at 34 weeks (before that even if her hydrocephalus gets bad, they wouldn't be able to repair it anyway), best case induction around full term. I'd say realistically around 37 or so.
What's your favorite time wasting website besides HB? Currently Sprinkle Bakes (http://www.sprinklebakes.com/). I'm on a MAJOR backing kick (so far this week I've made red velvet white chocolate chip cookies, and mini churro cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting), so I've been obsessively reading through her whole blog. I'm back in 2009 right now.
Had our latest ultrasound today! Basically, the changes in her ventricle size are either very small, or possibly nothing. They're small enough to be within the margin of error for the machine, so they can't be certain. Either way, good news. That means she's a lot more likely to make it to at least 34 weeks, and possibly beyond, without things getting significantly worse. And it means the brain damage will likely stay in the moderate range, with a good prognosis, not creep up into the severe range. Otherwise her growth is perfectly on track, right on the curve. She's only about 30th percentile, but she's stayed consistently there. And her cerebellum is still small, not even on the chart, but again growth is mirroring the chart perfectly, so it's probably not a huge deal.
They did draw some blood to screen for infection, to see if that's what's causing the issues, but she has no markers for any infections, and I've already screened clear on some of them. So they'll probably come back negative on that, which is mostly good (since infection is bad!) but we still won't have any idea why she's having these problems.
We got to see some great shots of her! And I asked, they confirmed, she is definitely still a girl.

Where are you at with the nursery? Ummm, nowhere. We don't even have a place to live lined up.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it? No clue. I think my hubby is ok with James or Jason, but we shall see.
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? Early. Tentatively scheduled csec about 5 days prior to due date? I sorta forgot when my due date is lol.
What's your favorite time wasting website besides HB? Right now, catching up on shows, so various websites....more like apps.

How far along are you? 22 weeks and change
Where are you at with the nursery? We're not doing a nursery, baby will sleep in our bedroom for the first 6-12 months and then we'll probably move him/her in with LO nr 1. I'm considering repainting our crib, it's currently white but I'm playing with the thought of painting it a soft green, yellow or possibly blue/teal.
Have you decided on a name? Ha! Nope, not even close. In fact, I hate thinking about names, I get bored, find it stressful and overwhelming. We'll probably put it off for as long as we possibly can.
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? Late. DS was born almost two weeks late.

Question for everyone: how are your fingers and are you still fitting into your engagement/wedding rings?
My engagement ring is tiny and has started to feel tight this past week. It feels too early to take it off and be ringless for another 4 months so I may go buy a cheap knock off replacement.

@Torchwood: Wonderful news!!! I'm so happy things are looking good. I use to think 3D pictures were creepy - until I got pregnant. So cool that you got one at your scan..she looks adorable
@London Mama: So far I'm still wearing mine. Once this week when I went to put them on they felt really tight, but haven't had any problems since! I'll definitely be getting a fake set to wear.

Where are you at with the nursery? ordered a crib and a dresser, haven't picked paint color and still need to think about décor but we won't do this until July.
Have you decided on a name? If you feel like sharing, what is it? I "think" so but DH doesn't want to lock anything down until he meets him.
Do you think you'll go early, on time, or late? I'm hoping early by a few days but we'll see.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Oh, I meant to mention, I asked my OB about her being breech still, and she said that at this point only about 30% of babies are head down, but by full term only 5% are breech. So hopefully that means you still have a good chance that this one will be more cooperative than your first and flip.

@London Mama: I took off my wedding band & engagement ring once the humidity picked up. My hands swelled a lot during the day.
I wear my plain band now.
pomelo / 5607 posts
How do ya'll decide what size cheap set to buy? I'm definitely having some swelling when I'm really hot, and since I live in the South that's just going to get worse. But cheap sets rarely come in half sizes, and I don't think I'll need a full size bigger, at least anytime soon. My promise ring is a little bigger (5, versus a 4.75), but I don't know how much better that'll be.
