September 2016 moms!

@skipra: I'm not sure, I'm probably not getting enough sleep, and I've been sleeping on my stomach... Maybe it's time to order a snoogle.

Is anyone thinking about maternity clothes yet? I have been wearing the same pair of non-maternity low rise jeans because my others come up higher and got uncomfortable a while ago. I bought a pair from Old Navy yesterday and they have these weird triangle pieces of elastic kind of to the side of the button. Does anyone have this type? I figure I just need jeans to get me through about June. They are kind of big now, as are the one pair that I am currently wearing but I don't want to buy something that will fit for like a week.

@skipra: bahahahaha. I've been in mat clothes since 6w. Nothing fit almost immediately and it made me SO nauseated to have anything pushing on my stomach. I have two pairs of work slacks and two pairs of jeans.

@Applesandbananas: haha. I must have missed that! Are you already in over the belly pants? I hate hate hate those and my one pair of jeans with the short band was uncomfortable until my belly was bigger last time. I feel like I should just live in leggings and yoga pants until I have a bigger belly. It's an annoying stage!

  5. Applesandbananas

    pomegranate / 3845 posts

@skipra: yep, over the belly. I like them! They make my bump look better. I carry wide instead of a nice round basketball shape lol, it's more like a football, but the over the belly rounds it all out a little better.

@skipra: I haven't taken the plunge quite yet but I have a feeling it's just around the corner here. I am grateful that my favorite pair of work pants are like a thick legging type pant (but still work appropriate) and they work ok. But jeans... I'm guessing next weekend may be it for me in them.

I also struggle with this "in between" phase where I don't feel quite ready for maternity clothes but my regular clothes are not really working anymore. Too bad I can't get away with leggings and sweats for work for the next few weeks! It's just really hard to look in my closet and see almost nothing I want to/can easily wear

@skipra: I wore maternity pants today and remembered why I hated them so much. I'm not ready for over the belly pants and the Demi panel pants just hurt my stomach and make me feel like I have to pee constantly.

  8. Periwinkle

    @avivoca: Exactly!

@Periwinkle: I am lucky to be able to wear the SAHM uniform. I remember wearing some regular clothes to work when I was pregnant with my first and being horrified when I looked in the mirror there. They should totally allow sweat pants in the dress code when you're pregnant!

@avivoca: yes the demi band makes me crampy and really uncomfortable. I have to wash my new ones first but I'll let you know how they feel. Maybe that style will be a good option for you.

@Applesandbananas: the full panel makes me so itchy! I always folded it down and then my pants would sag really bad. I am jealous that they are working for you! I am doomed to saggy ass for the foreseeable future!

First baby? If not, what gender(s) are your older LO(s)?
2nd. My first is a boy.

Do you have a preference? Not at all. I'd love a girl and I'd love a boy.

Does your family have a preference? Not that they've said to me. And they can suck it if they do have one.

What does the Chinese gender predictor say? Boy. It was completely wrong with DS. I don't put stock in stuff like this.

Have you tried any of the old wives tales? No.

Do you have a gut feeling? No! I did with DS but no feeling about this baby. DH is feeling girl.

Have you had any dreams? No dreams about this baby. Although I had a dream that I had four children with all different ethnicities and they all grew very fast. Like every day they were a year older. Weird.

When will you find out? At birth in September.

@skipra: So glad the NT scan went well! I've been in maternity pants for a while because my bloat was so crazy that the zippers for my regular pants kept coming down. I hate full panel so everything i have is demi. I haven't been wearing maternity shirts or anything else yet. I'm still just really bloated! I did buy some warmer weather dresses from Old Navy and I do need shorts and some tank tops. I don't want to spend too much yet though.

@skipra: I've been in maternity clothes for a few weeks already! Luckily, I can wear yoga/workout pants to work, but when I have to wear jeans or real pants, I've been in maternity pants. I have one pair of the ON skinnies that go below the belly, but all my others are full panel. It feels a little silly to be wearing them already, but they are comfy! I've already been browsing maternity dresses for our vacation in June.

@avivoca: Ouch! Will that money you paid for the ER help you meet your OOP max and maybe not have to pay so much for the birth or does it reset before then?

    I'll play!

First baby? If not, what gender(s) are your older LO(s)? - No. We have an almost 3 year old son.

Do you have a preference? - No. It'd be fun to have one of each, but I will be happy either way.

Does your family have a preference? - I don't think so, but I haven't asked!

What does the Chinese gender predictor say? - Boy

Have you tried any of the old wives tales? - My friend sent me something that said you can tell the sex based on where the baby is sitting in your uterus. Based on that, it's a girl.

Do you have a gut feeling? - Nope.

Have you had any dreams? - Just dreams where I was pregnant. None where I had a baby.

When will you find out? - Whenever he or she decides to come out and meet us!

@tlcbaby: I won't meet my OOP max, but I will hit my deductible. They are going to redo my forms and then will let me know at my next appointment.

My appointment went well! HR was 168, and I'm officially an October mom again. They moved my DD back to October 3 based on LMP and my dating scan in the hospital. If you don't mind though, I'll hang out with you ladies still.

@avivoca: You are more than welcome to stay. I was right on the May/June cusp last time. They moved mine the other way to September 15th at my last appt.

@tlcbaby: I still think of it as Sept. 30 though because I track my cycles, have longer cycles, and know when I ovulated this time.

  18. tlcbaby

@avivoca: That's true---3 days really means nothing in terms of when the baby might actually decide to show up!

  19. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

Wait a second, do all of us 2nd time + mamas have boys already?

@avivoca: 3 days is nothing! You could still have a September baby! So glad you got to hear the heartbeat!

Lol I feel like I totally missed the memo to get out my maternity clothes. I don't have the winter stuff anyway so I never even bothered to look. I pulled on a pair of jeans that I wrote off a few weeks ago and they fit fine today. Maybe less bloating? I would be worried if we hadn't just seen the baby yesterday.

@skipra: I've been loving my full panel pants. I was so uncomfortable for weeks and finally pulled them out at 8 weeks. I have a long torso so also need maternity tops to cover the panel. I had a Feb baby the first time so this is my only chance to wear all my winter stuff. I can't wait for dresses this time. Last Feb in NYC was terrible.

Lo1 is slowly removing everything from my wallet and zipping and unzipping it. It's gotten me about 20 minutes of sofa time so far. I'll take what I can get.

@skipra: I've got a girl. I'm also hoping I go a little early anyway because I'd like this baby's birthday to be separated from mine and H's.

We did our social media announcement today! My parents are thrilled because now they can talk about it.

@avivoca: What a cute announcement!! She's adorable! I think I'm going to wait to announce until we go to Chicago and take a selfie of DH and I in front of the bean. Hoping I'm obviously pregnant by then!

@avivoca: So cute! And glad you'll stick around here too regarding your new due date

@skipra: That is really funny-- you're right that it seems the majority of us second time mamas have boys.

Speaking of the September mamas, does anyone have an interest in starting a due date list? I would be more than happy to start one if there's interest but cannot promise how great I would be about updating it super regularly. Or is there one and I missed it?

@Periwinkle: there was one a while back! I&I'll find it and repost tomorrow morning. It seems like a lot of peeps dropped off the board though.

Ugh, I feel miserable. I've been so nauseated after eating and no appetite. I've just been trying to eat something around meal time because I know if I don't, I'll be even worse off nausea wise but man, I really thought the second tri would be better, not worse.

  27. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@tlcbaby: Oh yeah, the midwives are doing my glucose test early and they recommended that I start following the diet now. So I need to comb your website for ideas!

  28. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@Applesandbananas: I'm sorry! I felt awful after lunch, like there was food in my throat because I was so full. It's a fine line between being hangry after awhile and waif way too much. My Tylenol almost set me off.

  29. Applesandbananas

    pomegranate / 3845 posts

@avivoca: Ive also been feeling like I'm starving one second and two bites later, I'm stuffed.

  30. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

@Applesandbananas: that is not good! You should be starting to feel better, not worse! Are you taking anything? You could at least try B6 if you're not interested in medication. It was just enough to take the edge off for me with my last pregnancy and I'm sure it helps me now too.

@MrsKoala: @Periwinkle should we do a roll call or something for whoever wants to be included on the list? I like how the August group has how far along they all are too but I have no clue how to do that! I can use my laptop tomorrow afternoon to figure it out if anyone is interested.:

  31. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

@maddyz: how are you feeling/surviving today?

  32. Applesandbananas

    pomegranate / 3845 posts

@skipra: is B6 an OTC vitamin? I'd be willing to give it a shot! I'm starting to wonder if it's non pregnancy related but the stomach bugs going around have been like 24 hour things.

  33. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@Applesandbananas: You could also ask your doctor for a Diclegis prescription. It really helped with my nausea and sleeping problems. It has B6 and some of the ingredients from Unisom in it. I didn't feel groggy at all and it stopped my all day nausea in its tracks when I was on that awful antibiotic.

  34. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

@Applesandbananas: yes b6 is just an otc vitamin. I take 25 mg 3x a day (have to cut the pills). Unisom is also otc. A half at night with the B6 makes a huge difference and like @avivoca: said, helps you sleep but doesn't make you any extra tired the next day. It cut my vomiting from several times a day to about once a day immediately.

  35. Applesandbananas

    pomegranate / 3845 posts

@skipra: I think I'll try this next time I'm at the store. I slept like crap last night

  36. Periwinkle

    pear / 1879 posts

@Applesandbananas: I'm so sorry you're feeling so lousy. Are there any foods which don't bring on the nausea? Even if it's just a few bites of banana or dry toast every few hours? Hoping s passes quickly for you.

@skipra: thanks for checking in. I am doing OK, eating rice, Apple sauce and Gatorade. I friend took lo out to the park, dinner and gave him his bath. It was a much needed break. DH is in worse shape then me. It's hard for me not to get mad at him about it.

@applesandbannanas: i hope you f Ind some relief soon!

Maybe one of these days we will all feel better! Hurry up second trimester!

  38. Periwinkle

@maddyz: Glad you got a bit of a break today, but so sorry that you're still not feeling like yourself. These bugs are the worst and I hope you and your family are all feeling better soon.
